from a students point of view, this is the best art school in houston! the teachers are all super knowledgeable and talented; they are extremely kind towards students of all ages and offer many different classes and mediums to choose from. the school is clean and organized as well!! i have been to many different art schools in the area, but Zhang Yaowu is the only one i have consistently returned to. definitely recommend!!!!

This is a very good place to learn drawing and painting in the Greater Houston area. The teachers are both professional and patient. My children have been learning drawing and painting there for several years and have made great progress and love it.

20 years art center specializing in kids education! Strongly recommended! The teachers are always patiently instructing students and happy to answer any questions from parents. The environment is spacious, quiet and comfortable. Many awards winning works are from their students. I am sending my two daughters here and I can see their improvements, skill wise and interest wise. We like this art center!

My kids enjoy creating arts. Over the years, they have worked with several art teachers/academy but Zhang Yaowu Art Center is hands down the best for them. The family owned business is operated by three outstanding artists from a close knit family. Each of them has achieved impressive accolades and works diligently and patiently with students with various backgrounds and skill levels. They offer a wide range of courses using a variety of mediums. When you walk into that studio, you will be immediately surrounded by exceptional oil paintings on the wall that were produced by the teachers. Children of all age group, meticulously refine their art, with that in the zone type of focus, losing themselves in the beautiful world of art making. Group classes taught by instructors offer more structured learning experience. When kids are happy doing what they love, you see that from their eyes and their work. This is definitely a place that brings out the best of their students who are among those major prize winners of many art competitions that I am aware of. If you are interested in cultivating artistic expression in your children, make sure to stop by the studio and talk to the friendly owners. They will work with you to design a learning plan that caters to your children s individual needs and unique characteristics.

I ve been at this art school for 10 years and it is probably the best art school in houston. It teaches the student not only how to draw, but the various different mediums that can be used while also giving the student creative liberties to pursue their niches.

My daughter has been learning art with Teacher Zhang and Teacher Tao for several years on weekends classes. The teachers are very skilled and passionate about teaching fine arts. They provide personalized advice to each student. My daughter has enjoyed the experience and has benefited a lot from the supportive environment. There are also opportunities for art auctions and competitions, which have enriched her creativity and learning experience from other talented artists.

Teacher Zhang and Teacher Tao are the two most professional, patient, and caring teachers in Houston. They both have over twenty years of teaching experience in Houston, and they have an excellent reputation. Both teachers graduated from the top art academies in China. The young teacher, Daqian Zhang, graduated from the Florence Academy of Art. Students taught by them show exceptional talent in painting. They unearth the unique talents of each child based on their individual characteristics, thus earning numerous awards. Many students have won major awards, such as the Scholastic Art & Writing National Award and first place in the Congress Art Competition, with their works selected for display in Washington DC. Many children start learning to paint here at the age of four or five, and under the guidance of the two teachers, they participate in Rodeo competitions and win high auction prizes by the time they reach high school. These awards also provide significant returns for children in terms of further education, as some students have been accepted into top universities such as Harvard, Princeton, Cornell, and elite art schools etc. This is why, after being recommended by friends, we chose this place. My two children love it here. As soon as they enter their studio, they can feel the quiet and peaceful atmosphere, with only sparks of art colliding here. We will continue to paint here. Sincere thanks to both teachers for their dedication and guidance. This is the best art studio in Houston. Choosing here, you will definitely not regret it.

This place is such a good place for all ages to learn art. They are so welcoming and have very good and talented teachers. Every teacher in Zhang Yaowu Art Center is very professional. Many of them have earned top achievements in countless mediums of art. Not only do they teach painting, but they also teach color pencil, sketch, watercolor, and much, much more. They are not only good at art, but also good at teaching. My kids love learning art at this school. My son has been learning for almost 7 years and my daughter has been learning for almost 3 years. They are making outstanding progress and surprise me all the time. My kids show great art abilities in the school district. They have created beautiful class-related projects. My son won the Rodeo art contest, designed posters, decorated the classroom, designed the class logo, etc. I am glad that my kids learn art at this school. They enjoy learning and love their teachers

If youre looking for an immersive opportunity to develop your art skills and meet other aspiring artist, this is the place for you. Ive been taking weekly lessons here since I was 9. I am now 18. Throughout my art journey here at Zhang YaoWu Art Center, I have developed a variety of art skills ranging from colored pencils to acrylic and oil painting. The head teachers are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They truly are amazing with students of any age, whether youre a beginner or not. I highly recommend this art studio!

I ve took lessons here since I was 5, all the way till I graduated high school and it has made the greatest impact on my drawing abilities. It is a great art school if you are interested in further developing your skills in realism within painting, graphite sketch, color pencil, and these skills translate easily into any other mediums you hope to master. Zhang and Tao have decades of experience and you can trust them to show you the best approaches to bringing the most out of your artwork.
