The interactive exhibits are engaging, making for a fun and educational outing for kids. The highlight of this attraction is the large aquarium tank, where you can see a diverse range of fish and other sea creatures up close. There s also a restaurant with a fantastic underwater view, adding a special touch to your dining experience. However, keep in mind that it can get busy with families, so it may not be the best spot for a romantic dinner. As a local, I found it to be a bit touristy for my taste (but that s a personal problem). Getting here can be tricky for some. I ve seen people clogging the streets trying to enter the driveway, and I can t count how many times I ve witnessed cars going the wrong way on a one-way street while looking for parking!

Party of 9 = 2 hour wait because WE Failed to plan ahead. We planned to Fail!. Instead of waiting two hours we broke our group into 2 sets of 4. (One of our guests didnt show). The Hostess managed to get all of us seated within 45 minutes & the tables were next to each other! (THANK YOU!). Grammy (My mother) can be a challenge when she doesnt get her way (front of the line, #1 parking space, extra privileges.) The Hostess and manager did a great job at telling her No., very respectfully and consistently. (THANK YOU AGAIN!) When seated; Grammy had ordered her and her mothers drinks, appetizer, and meal immediately. They even received their food before the 2nd table received their drinks at the table. Grammys complaint at the end of the night.., They should have brought out the bread and butter sooner so that I could have enjoyed it with my meal. At the 2nd table we received the drinks, BREAD AND BUTTER, food, and EXCELLENT SERVICE (from the same waiter) all in a timely manner and fashion I would expect from a VERY busy place. The drinks were kept full, the food was hot and/or fresh (depending on what you had ordered), the server was very attentive to the allergies mentioned when we ordered, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. Definitely a place to go back to. BTW: The kids menu is not available for those over 10 years old. They have adult portions and adult prices if you want something from the kids menu.

Disappointing! Not worth it for the price! It has few attractions, is very small and very expensive for what it delivers. Much better to go to the Zoo, besides having other animals, the Zoos aquarium is much better. Next to the aquarium there is a park which is the most interesting part if you go with children (Im almost sure you can access the park without paying the aquarium entrance fee). In addition to the lack of attractions, although I found several scenes beautiful, there are still problems: 1) There is a lack of information about the animals (where they live in their natural habitat; what do they eat? are they aggressive? etc...) 2) Several aquariums (all?) with plastic ornamental plants! Natural plants are the minimum, they are not aquariums in a childrens room. 3)The tour could have been more interesting with observation of sharks and interaction with rays, but I was so disappointed with the tour that I didnt want to buy these tours anymore.

I love aquariums, however, I won t be returning to the one in Houston. I was disappointed with the experience. Before entering the aquarium, you have to pay an additional $15 for parking in a lot with very few spaces, on top of the $25 you ve already spent on a ticket. The aquarium was small, and the inside felt cramped due to the large crowd. Additionally, the dim lighting made it hard to take clear pictures or see the various fish in the tanks. The highlight of the aquarium was a tiger, which seemed out of place. This aquarium might be a good place to take kids, but unfortunately, I don t recommend it for adults.

I was there this past Monday visiting from Miami, I got my tickets in advance from CityPASS and we to do the same purchase ticket lineup, because they can not scan the tickets at the door entry direcly from the phone, so we have to have them printer out from the sales tickets window area, so not point to get it before then, not on the phone, have them printed!.

Also, there are only a few about 5 handicap parking lots and a lack of ramps near stairs. I found these issues to be a big problem for visitors. My wife had to struggle walking around with a crutch while we were visiting Sunday morning from Dallas. It is very upsetting in my opinion for a business of this size to be somewhat unaware of people with disabilities.

The Downtown Aquarium in Houston, Texas is simply an awesome experience for the whole family. Combining the wonder of an aquarium with the excitement of an amusement park, offering a variety of attractions that capture the attention of visitors of all ages, its a lot of fun. The aquarium is home to an impressive collection of marine life, from colorful tropical fish to majestic sharks and exotic creatures that transport you to different aquatic ecosystems around the world. The Shipwreck exhibit makes you feel like youre exploring the depths of the ocean, while the Rainforest section surrounds you with the vibrant colors and sounds of the rainforest. Additionally, the restaurant inside the aquarium offers spectacular views of enormous tanks filled with marine life, making dining as much a visual experience as a gastronomic one. For the little ones, attractions such as the carousel and the train ride through the Shark Voyage are not to be missed and add a touch of adventure to the day. In short, the Downtown Aquarium is more than just an aquarium; is a complete entertainment destination that mixes learning, fun and wonder in every corner. It is a place you cannot miss if you are in Houston.

i wish i would have read the reviews before coming here. i was visiting from out of town and houston honestly has nothing to do but the aquarium so before we left we visited. $15 to park, spent $60 for 2 adults and be aware, if you have children, children are $25 a piece as well. we finished all the exhibits within 15-20 minutes, and thats with reading about what animals were inside each exhibit and walking through crowds of people with 0 spacial awareness. they also (after already ripping you off) have a photo company working in the aquarium that take a picture of your group when you arrive and try to sell you $45 photoshopped pictures. news flash, you can take selfies on your phone, or ask someone to take a picture of your group on your phone, FOR FREE. not worth the price in my opinion. the tiger exhibit is questionable at best. i do believe tigers are solitary animals in the wild but i didn t think they needed to be in captivity as well and would have loved to ask why we only saw 1 tiger at a time but there was no staff member around to answer any questions about them, especially the tv mentioning they own 4 tigers, but only had pictures and bio s about 3 of them. the two tigers i saw in my 2 hours being there were the two white tigers who are in their 20 s and both seem to have arthritis or something wrong with their hind ends, never saw the young orange tiger at all. due to the general public and parents not having common sense or basic human decency, there were children running around unsupervised and children AND adults banging on the tiger exhibit AND other small exhibits to try to get the animals attention or people teasing the sting rays by putting the fish food on the edge of the pool forcing the rays to jump for their food as entertainmen. i personally feel there should be staff members around to tell people to respect the animals and their enclosures by not banging on glass or teasing the animals with food and if they can t follow those basic instructions, they should leave. the train is another issue as the lights and poles don t sound or come down until the train is practically on top of you. all in all, i d rather spend this kind of money at the state aquarium in corpus.

Its a pretty small aquarium. But for the price its a good trip to take. They have a good selection of fish and even a tiger sanctuary. It would be a great place for kids. They have extra attractions that I didnt partake in and a resturant but we didnt go.

Another must see on your visit to Houston. Although smaller than most Aquariums it is worth the time and money. The added attraction of the White Tiger and the interactive stingray petting were the icing on the cake for me. There is a lovely sea themed restaurant on the 1st floor - be sure to check that out as well.

First time going to the aquarium. It is not that big but super pretty. My favorite was the white tiger, she was beautiful. We got to interact with the sting rays and went on the train around the facility. Just a few rides and games but it was fun to do. You could spend a day here, especially with little kids.

I don t know it s an aquarium or a restaurant with nice views. Tickets are expensive for services/exhibit given. Parking is $15!!!. You have to pay for rides outside the general tickets.

High expectations and ended up very disappointed. It was so small/short.... the parking garage was super nice, the facility was very nice and fancy. So you would expect to spend a couple of hours inside enjoying yourself with a bunch of sealife to see. It took maybe 20 minutes to walk through everything... $100+ for a family of 4 for 20 minutes. Not to mention that a good part of the aquarium was in very closed off rooms, packed with people (weekend day). So, if youre claustrophobic, I would not recommend it. AC wasnt working that great either. But that couldve been the number of people. The only saving grace was stingray reef and getting to feed/ pet them. I dont want to be a complete Karen, so I will say the facility was very nice. If youre looking for a short experience to later go outside and explore their mini carnival or eat at their restaurant upstairs, go for it. However, if youre going because youre expecting to get out of the heat, spend a couple hours there, looking at sea creatures, some sharks, touch a star fish or sea urchin, etc. I wouldnt waste your time or money.

Disclaimer: I really only like posting positive reviews, but wow, this sucked. $30+ per ticket. $15 to park. 10 mins to walk through entire thing IF YOU TAKE YOUR TIME. Beyond crowded. Huge waste of time and money. The splash pad outside was free and awesome EXCEPT that its super duper slippery, and my 2 year old girl fell 3x just by slowly walking around it.

Pretty sad to see the white tiger in bad condition and just looking unhappy in his tiny enclosure. The actual aquarium is pretty cool but I would recommend going later afternoon as the morning rush made it pretty clustered and you feel rushed. If I were to go again I would probably just do the aquarium exhibit as the rides are pretty small and not worth the day pass ( although kids seem to have had a ball).

Included in the City Pass (also interact with the manta rays). Fabulous experience for children and adults. Although the route is covered, bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a towel for the little ones who enjoy getting wet in the fountains. Highly recommended.

Not really what we expected. Too small, only a few exhibits and many rides were shut down. while we were in line for the ferris wheel they closed it so we had to go get our money back.
