You are 110% correct I am not the client but l am the client son-in-law, the son-in-law that drove several hours to help his mother in law, the son-in-law that would give the world to his mother in law. After hours of calling around and researching to find who we believed that would be helpful in are need of help, We had came in with a plan that we prayed and agreed on that would help us. Ended up taken a wrong turn for us financially of course this in none of your concern or problems and I understand that but take note that they did provide with the service that we needed and we paid for. I found Mr. Barrera after being discouraged by another lawyer to assist me in keeping my rights to my grandchildren related to having them in my care for a length of time and due to unexpected circumstances, placed in foster care. I needed my grandchildren to know they were still my biggest priority by continuing to have visits with them. Let me start off by saying I m a very busy mom with two children, 5 month old and an 18month old. With that being said, I don t take time to leave reviews often. Mr. Barrera and his team exceeded my expectations. I actually hired him about 10 years ago. I m live in Ohio but got myself into a situation visiting Texas. I hired Mr Barrera to represent me but couldn t afford to come back to Texas to go to court. I put it off all these years, and just kind of ignored it. I ve always wanted to get it over with and move on with my life instead of having it hanging over my head but just couldn t afford the trip nor had the time off work to deal with it. Considering the pandemic my sister suggested that I may be able to do video court and not have to travel all the way to Texas. Not thinking about it being the weekend, I messaged Mr. Barrera on Sunday through Facebook. We had been friends ever since I hired him. He responded right away and told me to call the office Monday to set up a phone meeting with him. He was very friendly and did not act bothered by the fact that I was messaging him outside business hours. When I called they took down my info then set me up an appointment for the next day. Probably not even 2 hours later Mr. Barrera called me to tell me my case had been dismissed in 2019. He could ve stopped there but he took the time to ensure that all the paperwork was filed properly and my warrant had been dropped. He emailed me the official paperwork that says they dropped my charges and suggested I keep a copy on my phone for awhile in case I have any trouble. He also advised me to wait a couple years then go for an expungement to clear my record. I will definitely be contacting him to take care of that for me when the time comes. Then, he proceeded to ask me if I felt I was owed any money back as I paid him upfront 10 years ago. I m not sure if this is something he ask everyone or if he felt the need to check with me being that the case was dismissed and he ended up not having to do much. I was shocked that he would even ask such a thing. Most lawyers would ve just kept the money and closed the book on the case. Of course, I told him no. It s my fault it got ignored for so long and Mr. Barrera exceeded my expectations. He deserves every dime I paid him even if the case ended up being dismissed. I highly recommend him and his team for your legal needs. I read in another comment that he s the best lawyer in Texas. From my experience, I would have to agree! So glad I found him all those years ago and kept him in my social network.

I had a very disappointing experience with an attorney at this firm. No questions were asked as far as my concerns in the proceedings. They handled it like a clear, cut and dry case. They didn t explain any of my rights, options, or recommendations. I felt like a number and an inconvenience. There were details specific to my requests that were left out. And when I asked for a remedy I was told that couldn t be done There are several concerns I had after the fact... that would ve easily been avoided had I had an attorney who cared about my best interest and the situation I was dealing with. My family was recently targeted by Child Protective Services. They made it clear that they wanted to remove my children so I turned to The Barrera Law Firm. Mr. Barrera helped us navigate the entire process. He made sure their threats were simply that, words that could not hurt us. CPS found nothing (as expected) but they were still unsatisfied. They harassed us, they came into my home making accusations, trespassed, yelled, argued...they pulled their dirty little tricks. Every step of the way Mr. Barrera was there. He made it clear that CPS was not allowed to bully us or tear my family apart. He went above and beyond. He contacted their main headquarters and the CPS worker was no longer able to come onto my property or have any contact with me without proper supervision. I am thrilled to say the case is closed. The judge dismissed the case and CPS is out of my life. Mr. Barrera ensured my family stayed together. He would answer all my concerns the minute I voiced them. He is truly dedicated. He explains everything so well. I will never forget the first time he contacted CPS to inform them he was representing me. The silence from CPS followed by their unsteady voices was extremely satisfying. They thought they could target me and my family just because I am a step mom but he put them in their place really quick. I highly recommend Mr. Barrera. CPS tried to ruin my life. My wife and I had need of a family attorney for an estate and we live in Missouri, Mr Barrera unlike several attorneys actually took the time to speak with us long distance and agreed to represent us. The estate took eight months l longer than it should due to a family member and their attorney. Mr. Barrera gave us his cell phone number, he answered his phone and returned texts messages and provided first class service. Mr Barrera and his office took care of us when other attorneys in Harlingen would not even bother talking to us due to us being out of state. Mr Barrera did all the work he promised for his retainer in processing the estate and went above and beyond due to the added family issues and opposing attorney motions dragging out the estate settlement. The estate went into arbitration and Mr Barrera represented us during that process and we came out a winner in the end and very happy with the outcome. First of all i wan to thank Mr.Barrera for helping me to get my son back. It wasnt a easy case, as there had only been 4 like mine in the state of Texas before with the last one being in 2010. In my situation, when my son was born my rights were taken away since the mother of my son let her Bf at the time sign my sons birth certificate. Automatically giving him rights to my son, and me not even being able to see him. It was tough to get the Judge to give me my rights and to take them away from the other guy. With DNA test evidence we were able to solve this case, we went through hell and back to get the test done but we were able to get it done. Mr.Barrera never quit on me even though everybody made it seem like it was impossible, and also when i was ready to quit he gave me hopes and told me he was going to get me my son back. I went through a divorce that started in January of 2018, by March it was final. Ric was always available and always confident. I have so many positive comments to make but don`t know where to start !! His fees are very reasonable and I never felt I was padding his pocket. Availability is a big deal with me due to my demanding schedule, he made it a point to meet me at times that were probably way more convenient for me than they were for him !! Payment of fees were never a major point of discussion, I feel like Ric has compassion for his clients (me) and knows they`re going through a difficult time (or they wouldn`t need a lawyer). Excellent, hands on attorney. I was looking for someone to take my father in laws case for a commercial traffic ticket , and every firm I would call in the area gave me a runaround and wouldnt connect me with an actual attorney to speak with. I could fill a book describing how unbelievably happy and grateful I am for everything that Mr. Barrera did for me and my family! I am a father living in Huntsville, Texas, 7 hours from the valley and I was a few days away from watching my two beautiful daughters moved out of state by their mother right after their summer vacation with me without being able to do anything about it. I could not find a lawyer in Huntsville that would take my case on short notice, much less even take my phone call and even if they were interested, I could not afford their high fees. Anything that I needed filed would have to be done in the valley so I called 20 different attorneys down south and no one would or wanted to help me. I was ready to give up and accept that as a father the odds were against me and every attorney knew it but I decided to call one more lawyer. When I called Ricardo I was surprised when he was the one that answered the call and at first he sounded very reserved. But he didnt. He quickly assured me that he could help me and would help me and without demanding payment upfront he immediately went to work for me and began the filing process. He was able to help me keep my daughters in my care until our court date but then hurricane Harvey hit the Houston area which deeply affected our area and once again he went to work and got us a continuance because we were unable to travel to the valley. 21 days later we were in the Cameron county for court, and despite having everything against me and her attorney throwing every technicality at the judge to get the case dismissed, Ricardo was prepared for all of it and fought hard for my family. He accomplished something that is very rare in the state of Texas; he won me temporary custody of my daughters! I was prepared for the court to rule against me but because of Mr. Barreras unbelievable experience, extraordinary work ethic, and unwavering commitment to my case as well as I carrying himself with a steel confidence that I didnt even have, I walked out of the court room with custody of my daughters. We still have more hurdles to get over down the line but I have no doubt that Ricardo will approach it with the same determination that he demonstrated for this part of our case and no matter what happens I will be forever grateful for what he has done for me and my family. I said earlier that I could fill a book with my praise but for now let me just conclude with these final words; anyone out there that is on the verge of losing hope and ready to give up, I can say without hesitation and with complete confidence that hope has a name and its Ricardo Barrera! I would highly recommend using Ricardos services for any family law case. His knowledge of family law is extremely valuable and helps when you need to talk about the specifics of your case.
