Fabulous dog park and worth the entry fee. Three separate areas, 2 for big dogs and 1 for little. One of the big dog parks has a perimeter that offers a nice ten minute stroll, with plenty of landscape features for the dogs to explore. Dog-friendliness: Trails are good for leashed dogs, and the dog parks are beautifully maintained.

We visit Garey Park at least once a year and it never disappoints. Weve gone since they first opened and explored around and they still maintain it very well. We typically visit the Play Ranch and back river area and the kids love it (I have a 2 and 5 year old and we brought my nephew who is 3, but have also met up with friends of all ages). It wasnt crowded at all this time around although we went on a Friday at 11:45 at the beginning of the school year. They also offer equestrian trails, hiking trails, a dog park, the Garey House for events and weddings, and bathrooms multiple places throughout the property. It costs per kid to get in the park but its cheap, and cheaper if youre a confirmed resident of Georgetown. The Play Ranch is to the left when you enter the gates and has a cute and fun splash pad, a large covered pavilion with tons of picnic tables, multiple other pavilions that can be reserved, bathrooms, zip lines, different types of swings, a large playground (the slides can be painful) and smaller playground, various play structures such as horse to climb on, log tunnel, large snake, etc. and trees for shade in some areas. There is something here for every age for sure! If you go back and follow the signs and drive further down youll pass the Garey House and park in the back lot for the hiking and river access. The trail to get to the main part of the river is jogging stroller friendly for the most part (we had our Pivot Explore wagon which also worked) because its a bit of a walk for littles, especially in the heat. The water was flowing a bit and warm (but again its the end of the summer in mid August) and theres some shade trees along the banks of the river. There is a bench in one spot but I suggest bringing your own seating if you want to hang some. We saw little dogs, large water snails, butterflies, dragonflies, birds in and out of the water, and lots of fish and minnows. We also climbed the large rock in the pictures....definitely a fun time for the kiddos, we will be back!

Lots of space and activities. Itll inevitably not be as busy as other parks, since everybody has to pay to enter. Not sure those fees are worth bothering - plenty of free parks with similar amenities (maybe except equestrian facilities for your own horses).

My family and I have been going to this park for a couple of years since it opened. What a blessing this place is to have here. When the water is flowing in the spring and early summer, it s a great place to bring the family and kids to swim. There are fossils to find, and secret springfed Rivers. Catching release fishing in the ponds.

This place is great for a family lunch and provides plenty of activities for kids. In addition to the basic slides, theres also a thrilling zip line for kids upto 10-12 years. Interestingly, the main park area is located about 1-2 miles inside from the entrance gate, offering a quieter atmosphere. Furthermore, its an excellent option for hosting birthday parties, making it a worry-free choice for celebrating special occasions with friends and family with nominal cost. Playground: Good Large playground with zipline as the main attraction. Toilets: Nice restrooms are available at the location. Picnic area: Good Area to host lunch

I would give Gary Park five stars if I didn t have to pay to get in I understand there s maintenance and things that have to be done in order to keep the park up to snuff and clean which I appreciate. However, this land was donated by the landowners for public to be used for a lifetime at no charge. I m sure our tax dollars are enough to fund for the management and cleaning up of this park. I ll gladly pay the smile on my children s faces are priceless Playground: Zip lines are awesome Toilets: Clean. And function great place for bday parties Dog-friendliness: It s here Picnic area: Excellent picnic area excellent playground. Lots of shade. There are plenty of bathrooms they re clean there s running water there s a dog park. I m not a fan of dogs, but that s OK. As long as people keep them on a leash and clean up after them they have every right to be there I just have young children and some dogs are not as well behaved as others ! Not a dig on dogs please no hatters

Playground: Very large and designed for 5-10 yr olds Toilets: Large and clean.

Adequate. Not superior (worth five stars) nor great (worth four), but also not bad (2) or terrible (1). Overall decent for kids. Entrance fee isnt bad - most people who are writing 1-star reviews have to deal with minor inconveniences like paying an extra 4 bucks even though they would only come a few times a year anyways or a long drive. Thats almost laughable. That being said, the place is cool overall. Not a lot for adults to do, though you dont expect that to be the case when youre going to a park like this.

While the grounds are nice and the kids play area is fun. I gave it two stars for the overall value for the money. As a resident of Georgetown I paid $16 to get into this park. If I had brought more kids it would have been over $30! This may be the most expensive entrance fee for some grass and swings in the country. Cmon man, its a freaking park.

The land is gorgeous. Stopped at the front gate and was immediately grilled by some self-important kid who was more interested in telling us what we couldn t do than anything else. Got charged $16 in spite of living in the city s ETJ. The park itself is beautiful but the City of Georgetown, as is almost always the case, manages to unnecessarily complicate things to justify their involvement. The park gets 5 stars, city employees get 1.

They did give a day pass but my five-year-old grandson remarked I don t ever want to come back. Pier needs Fumigating or something. Patrons need to be warned. Gary park is a perfect park for kids! If you are needing to let your kid run around like a crazy person for hours till you have to drag them home, come here. There is stuff to play on, for every size gremlin. Bathrooms on site, plenty of tables to eat on, summer fun splash pad, huge play areas, sit down zip lines, and a wooden fence to keep the wondering ones corralled inside the area. The floor is that soft squishy rubber material, so no wood chip splinters or things getting caught inside shoes. It s fun, and it s free if you are a Georgetown resident. If you aren t, it s very affordable, I think $5 for adults, but don t quote me.

We really enjoy this peaceful park. We ve gone prior to the pandemic and after and have enjoyed many of the spaces. The play area is so fun for kids and adults with 3 zip lines that are our favorite. The kids play area also has other playground equipment and a splash pad. Although the play area is currently closed due to the pandemic, we still enjoy the hiking trails and fishing ponds. There are many hiking trails and well-cleaned bathrooms. There is plenty of space to spread out at the ponds and fish. We ve always caught at least 2 fish when we ve gone. I feel like the pricing structure could be better, but we feel it s worth it to find a place close to Austin where it s not overcrowded.

Photographing Hawks, decided to stop by. Great experience, even though no Hawk sightings on this cold windy day. I did get a photo of a hawk while driving down 2243 just west of the Ranch.

Its just ok...hardly anyone there when I went for a walk. They charge a fee. It would be really nice if you could ride a bicycle on the trails.

I visited this park on 12/31/19, with my granddaughter and dog. It is easy to get to with Google Maps, and the entrance is well marked. The entrance fee is waived on Tuesdays, which was very nice for a first time visitor. The booth at the entrance was well staffed and they were very friendly. The young lady offered me a park map, and offered to give me verbal directions, if I had something specific in mind. I was just wanting to explore, so I declined, but took the written map. The map is easy to read and navigate the park. I took my dog to the Dog Ranch and he enjoyed playing off-leash in the enclosed area. They have separate areas for large and small dogs, and a few to choose from. They even have very small runs, in case your tiny hound just wants a small area to play. There were plenty of poop bags available, if you forgot yours, and places to dispose of the waste. I did not notice any gifts left behind by other owners. The play scape area is wonderful, with zip lines for the kids and plenty of climbing equipment. The playground is well maintained and has the soft grounds for kids who fall. I loved the many different slides, rope course, stairs, etc for the kids. We spent two hours in the playground and my granddaughter was wiped out after! There are plenty of picnic tables and pavilions to sit and relax while the little ones play. I did see that you can reserve tables and/or pavilions, but did not ask about the cost. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. I did not utilize the trails for hiking, although they did look well maintained. Will try that next time. We did see many folks there with their horses and trailers. I will definitely go again, and probably on a Tuesday, to try the hiking trails. I do live in Georgetown, although not within city limits, so I will be charged a fee when entering any other time. I am okay with that, as it helps maintain the park and it does seem they are doing a great job of that.

Would give 5 stars for a nice place to take your dog for a short hike or some off leash space, but $10 for less than 1 hour is crazy. Not ideal for our type, there are plenty of free trails & dog parks.

The park is really nice but they could have done more for the dog ranch . My baby got matted with stickers so bad that his eye was closed shut. The best thing they could add for me to take my fur babies again would be a dog splash pad for the dogs to cool off while having fun .

They charge different rates at a public park.... not sure how they think they will attract visitors with a policy like that. It doubles the entry fee. My DL says Georgetown, but Im not technically in the city limits. This park was donated, no really, it was all donated!! ....come on Georgetown.

Its a pretty far drive from my home. The water park area is cute but needs a few more options for the kids. Its a big park and everything is widely spread out so you have to drive from the park to the fishing area if you wanted to do both of those things. They are not close enough to walk from one to another

Garey House area is absolutely gorgeous and pristine. Wonderful hiking trails. I do not have littles but the park, pavilions and splash pad is very nice. I was disappointed in the dog park. I assume (hope) that there is maintenance coming in to clear out the grown up areas. I wouldnt take my fur baby to that dog park, ever, in its current condition. Seems to be very large, but a ton of wasted space that cannot be used as is. Please, please correct this. I didnt like paying to get in, but I believe it was worth it after I toured the entire area - minus the dog park area.

This is a huge park with river access, equestrian trails, and a fun splash pad and playground area. We went on one of the free Tuesdays in May, and it was quite busy despite school being still in session. The splash pad was large and had several water cannons and numerous spray features, though I think its most exciting for preschoolers and early elementary age. The park next to it has a toddler play structure and one for older kids. The tube slides for bigger kids were very fast. My 10 year old reported that he could never land on his feet at the end of the blue one, and I saw numerous other kids fly out and land on their rumps. (This seemed to make that slide especially popular.) There are baby swings, regular swings, and platform swings, and the three zip lines were always in use. While this was a couple hours of fun for a May day, I cant imagine paying the fee to get in: $5/car for the first two passengers if youre residents, $10/car for two non-residents, and $2/person beyond those first two.

This park is huge! Seems like a great park although we only went to the kids splash pad area with tables for parties and a nice playground. There were some really cool zip lines for kids that werent too long, but certainly long enough. The splash pad is really nice and the playground area has some nice features. Id like to explore more of this 500+ acre park, but for now its the Play Ranch party area. Theres an equestrian arena, fishing ponds and I heard there will be a dog park. The downside is they charge you by the car.

Way over priced for entry, no bikes allowed, rock walking paths not hiking trails, had to pay full price even though my address is Georgetown, they looked up my address and I was not in Georgetowns ridiculous City limits map. For the entire place to be donated to the city, I think the entry fee for the amenities is a joke

Lovely park for equestrian use. The rolling hills are great for conditioning. Beautiful sweeping views, creek crossings and river access. The equestrian trail footing is crushed limestone rock. If your horse is tender footed you may want trail boots or shoes on. However, most barefoot horses I know do fine. There is a nice arena for warming up/cooling down as well. I d give it 5 stars, but as others mentioned, the fees are a bit high, especially when you live just down the road but don t technically have a Georgetown address to take advantage of that discount.

I have a drivers license that says Georgetown, but they swiped my license and said I dont live within the city of Georgetown. Its $5 per car for anyone blessed to have a license that swipes right. $10 for anyone else. Plus $2 more for every extra person. So a car with 4 people, that dont live in the confines of Georgetowns heavenly gates then itll set you back $14 smackaroos. They close at 8pm for spring/ summer. One star because theyre not specific about what specifically is a Georgetown occupant.

I love this park but hate that they charge per person. We are a family of 6 and it makes it difficult to enjoy this park often, when we have to pay per person. I also dislike that I live in Georgetown but outside of city limits and have to pay even more. Makes no sense. I understand the park needs to be maintained and it costs money. What would make more sense is charging a reasonable rate per vehicle only.

Went to the Victory cup Polo match and had a great time. I also stopped to see the dog park and kids play area on the way out as well. The kids play area is definitely awesome. The dog park is nice, but I think there is more that they can do to upkeep it. Overall I definitely think the park is very nice and what they offer is more then many other parks where I am from 30 minutes north. I also thought that it was pretty awesome. We got to meet the actual Garey couple that donated the land!

$14 for a family of four is a bit ridiculous. The park and land are quite nice, so this 1 star review is purely aimed towards the city of Georgetown s greed. $5 per vehicle would be warranted and probably attract more visitors (and yield positive reviews).
