My wifes burger was salted to the point she could not eat it. When we brought to our servers attention he said he was sorry. He did not send his manager over to talk to us. I will go to McDonalds before I go back to Golds (I have not been in a McDonalds in 20 years).

This place will be seeing a lot more of me! The menu is simple but nostalgic. Our server and other staff members were cheery and welcoming. The burgers are delicious, their fries are shoestring but crunchy and perfect! The inside couldn t be cuter. There is an ole jukebox and an old Dr.Pepper machine. We ended our experience with a slice of Bourbon Cherry pie that was to die for! The source it from Lulu s across the square:) Kid-friendliness: The menu

The service was wonderful! They were very attentive. The atmosphere was good when you walked in but the further you moved to the back of the diner was just blank walls. The food well it could use a little something. The kids plate ($7) was bigger than mine or my husbands. And we didnt even have to pay extra for his fries. My husbands liver ($12) was okay and the mashpotatoes were definitely the highlight of lunch. I ordered the mushroom Swiss smash burger ($13) I opted not to order the fries for an added cost of $3 with the meal. The burger itself looked amazing and wasnt as small as I would have thought from online pictures. Eating only that was enough to full me. The only problem was that it was extremely bland. I dont believe that there was any seasoning in the meat and dont even think salt was used to season the mushroom and onions.

Great throwback look and feel with the great taste we seek in a meal. I had the chicken fried steak smothered in gravy, and I added sautéed onions, subbed green beans for the potatoes and made for a beyond delightful meal. Followed it up with apple pie, which is locally sourced, and ice cream and it was all she wrote. Remi B our server was excellent and attentive, our hostess was absolutely delightful! Will be going back and have pics the next time. Highly affordable as well!

What a wonderful new place to eat in Georgetown! We arrived around 11:30 to beat the rush and were seated promptly. I had the Patty melt and my partner had the Club sandwich, both very good. If you re in the mood for a cocktail you can get that too! The French fries are fresh cut everyday and nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside perfect!

We ate with 4 people for lunch & will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. All of us ordered some form of a burger and only the slider order was correct. Everything else was wrong or wasn t even what we ordered. We got a side of fries as well and they put about 15 cold fries on the side. The tea was overly strong & then I asked for a coke instead which was overly syrupy. We spoke the a couple next to us & they said their coffee was old and not hot. They are only getting 2 stars because the server was nice. The server did get the bill wrong also but that was the least of our concern after the horrible food we had.

Greeted by the friendly host right outside their front door was the first part of my experience at Gold Burger. My server, named Flo, wore the best smile! She was super friendly and she definitely recommended the hashbrowns. I ordered the Gold Pan, two eggs served with bacon (got it chopped) mixed in with the hashbrowns, added onions and it had perfectly melted cheese with two over medium eggs, served on top - it was PERFECTION SERVED! I had a cup of coffee, which was nice and hot, and Flo kept it filled without me asking for it. I complimented how delicious my food was and Flo paid the compliment to a young man who was cooking up the meals. She said he came up with the menu. I sat in a comfortable booth and fun, nostalgic music played in the background. Their utensils are gold, which I thought was such a nice and fun touch! The diner was clean and also their restroom was super clean! Other servers walked by, smiled and even one named Tara asked how everything was going. I definitely recommend coming here! Great tasting food, hot, freshly prepared, and prices are reasonable for the quality AND top notch friendly service! I will return to try lunch/dinner, for sure! Parking: Easy street parking. Even if you have to park a bit away, it s free and easy to walk to.

Fries are dipped in vinegar pre frying which gives them a literally magnificent pairing with the burger My wife and I shared two versions of the gold standard burger 1 had two smashed patties the other a thick patty both were really juicy and delicious Hands down visiting again the next time im in Georgetown Tx

Ive read reviews and heres my take: FINALLY we have an affordable diner with a limited, well thought out menu that they can focus on. You want more choices? Go to Cheesecake Factory. If you want a good value, pleasant wait staff and tasty food, go here. Of course its crowded. Thats a Georgetown restaurant. I was already planning my next trip and telling friends about the place before I got home. Well done and please dont change the menu.

I went on a Thursday in the mid afternoon as there was not a wait and sat at the bar, where the staff was fairly attentive with service. The burger and fries were served quickly. The fries had sat under the heat lamp and were sort of warm and stale. The burger would have been excellent except it was charred and overcooked. I was hoping for a down home diner with great food, but was let down by quality. Everything was just OK. There are better cooked to order burgers/fries/tea in town that do not cost $19. Will try again to see if things improve.

I went not too long after they opened some weeks back. The wait was to be expected, so it wasnt a huge deal. I think the biggest issue they face right now, which is far from unique, is staffing. Training and bodies. They were clearly short staffed, but doing their best. The food was good. It did take a while to come out for a table of 4, but again, understaffed. If they can get the staffing they need, both in training and numbers, I think this place has a good shot of becoming a staple in the community. Beyond that, the only other thing I would suggest is to spruce up the interior a bit. Its an odd shaped space and needs a bit more. I could tell they were working on this, so I think its all just a matter of time.

My wife and I decided to go for our Friday date night. Waiter you could tell had very little training, and or this was his first job. But what I wanted to focus on was the management or what appeared to be the shift manager. In regular clothes, random T-shirt and random hat, felt awkward and unprofessional. The hostess was nice and friendly. I ordered a 15$ burger and my with had the chicken fried steak for 15$ which is reasonable, but not the burger. Way over priced for a burger. And you have to order fries on the side for 5$. The flavor and taste is there. Service needs work and training. It seems to be a direct reflection of their unprofessional looking manager.

We finally got inside, ordered, and after 30 minutes, I waved the manager down and asked him where our food was. He told me it would be right out and apologized profusely. 30 minutes after that, we got our food. As I mentioned Im glad theyre hamburgers are awesome and I will grade their service based on my next experience. Fries are not special.

I brought my elderly neighbor here for lunch. When we arrived there was a few people already outside waiting to get in and we were told it would be about twenty minutes. Of course its already hot outside and I was concerned about my friend being in the heat to long. All the sudden I got a tap on the shoulder and it was the manager. He spotted my friend and the other folks outside and was quick to get us in. Im not sure how he spells his name but Antoine the manager is a really good hearted kind and caring person. He was extremely and I mean extremely nice. My friend asked me if I knew him and I told her no, hes just one of the few really good people that this world has been blessed to have. Thank you sir for what you did it really made her day. Our waitress was spot on and very polite. The food was awesome. Chicken fried steak with Real mashed potatoes and fresh green beans was perfect. I will definitely be going back!

Stop by here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Since the pandemic it appears that downtown Georgetown is busier on Friday afternoons than the weekends. Wow the square was hopping. Took us about a half an hour wait to be able to get in, but we use that time to be able to walk around the square while we waited for the text to come through. The hostess was super charming and offered us to sit at the bar or our choice of a table. Of course were going to sit at the bar! We sat down and were quickly agreed to by Flo behind the counter. She was just as charming and took our order quickly. Burgers are a little bit on the pricey side but I havent stopped thinking about them since. They also have some of the best hot dogs Ive ever eaten. Give this place a shot and I think youll be very happy. Definitely the best burgers in Central Texas in my opinion.

I had no idea this place existed! I went to the coffee shop next door and they don t really have a sign except on their windows. But once I saw this place I knew I had to try it! I am a HUGE fan of vintage diners, and this place certainly plays the part! They even have a jukebox, not sure if it works though. The music was peak. Food was very tasty! I had the Mushroom Swiss burger, it was delicious. I m also a fan of the string fries. My friend got a piece of the cherry pie, which was good, but a slice of it was $10 he said it wasn t worth it. On that note, this place has some pretty high prices. But I d say it was worth it for my meal at least. Parking: You may have to park a few streets down as it gets busy during rush hour.

Weve had a mixed bag of good and not-so-good food, which is not unusual for a new restaurant. The good: we went for lunch, and everyone loved their burgers, the veggie burger, and the fresh fries. The fries are a separate option, which several of us appreciate because we just wanted the burger. Service was good. The decor is nice, although the area in the back leaves a lot to be desired. We are looking forward to the jukebox being operational in the future. The not-so-good: breakfast was a bust for everyone in our party. The scrambled eggs were rubbery. One person ordered hash browns with onions and green peppers on top. Although you pay extra for the toppings ($1 for each), there were virtually no toppings on there at all, so no flavor added, and the hash browns were dry. The biscuits were okay, neither great nor terrible, but they werent served with any jellies, honey, or butter. The coffee was really good. The host was great, waiter seemed to want to be anywhere else but there. Well be back later on to see if theyve improved the breakfasts. Fingers crossed that they do, because we dearly need another breakfast spot because the few that we have always have long waits. Parking: Limited parking on the square, but you can usually find parking spots within a few blocks of the restaurant.

Located right on the square of downtown Georgetown (which we love). Our family stopped in for dinner. The atmosphere is a fantastic, clean, retro diner with an open kitchen concept. Despite the busy time we were there, the service was wonderfully friendly and attentive. Our family ordered the chicken fried chicken, chopped steak, a smashed Gold standard burger, and a regular Gold standard burger. Everything was spot on! Steak was tender and could be cut with a fork; burgers were juicy. Our son even said it was his favorite burger in town. We will certainly visit again. We are excited to try out their breakfast too!

A new restaurant opened up at Georgetown square and we just had to try it. There was a long wait for lunch outside but we went to the shops next door to cool off so it wasn t so bad. The menu for a diner was very sparse and limited. The food was mediocre and the drinks all came in coffee mugs. Who wants to drink wine or a cocktail from a mug?!! The service was attentive but our food didn t come complete: we had to order salad dressing twice. The seats were comfortable but for some reason there were so many flies in the restaurant, hovering and landing on us, which was very disconcerting I hope this restaurant carries on but our group of 4 decided we won t be back.

Meh. We really really wanted this place to be as awesome as it looks, but it just didnt hit the mark. After waiting several minutes at an empty host stand, someone finally came out. We were seated fairly quickly after that, but took another 10+ minutes after that to be greeted. At which point it was almost 11 and ooops. Too late for breakfast. Was disappointed that we couldnt get breakfast (I assumed a diner would have that all day) even though the top of the menu says Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, morning, noon, night. Ok, so we get the chicken fried steak. Over 30 minutes before we get our food, no communication with our server, no refills, or bread, or anything really. The CFS was a bit bland other than pepper, and was over cooked. We are anyway as we were starved and our server was no where to be seen. In fact, we only saw the server to get drink/food order and to drop off bill. Someone else brought out food and refill. Was in the restaurant for over an hour, and the 2 tables near us were vacant the whole time and still had dishes from previous guests. May try again one they get better staffed and work on the menu. Very few options all the way around. More side options please!

After waiting a few minutes, we went to the register, where there was a cashier, and she told us we would have to go back outside. When we went back outside, the hostess was back, and a crowd was already waiting to be seated. It was frustrating because instead of the cashier explaining the situation to the hostess, she went to talk to her friends, and we decided to eat elsewhere. Ive never had this frustrating experience of trying to eat at a restaurant.

If you want an eatery that caters to young collegiate-ish females this is your spot. We dropped bye to try it out knowing there may be a wait on a sat. night. The above mentioned type way in line in front of us & on the phone with a friend planning to eat there. The Host asked how many & assured her he could get the 2 of then in right away unless the other person wasn t there & he said it was about an hour wait she let him know it would take a while & he said okay just stay close & I ll get you in right away, when they get here. She (kudos to her) said it s okay. We watched 2 people walk out, we stepped up & were told it s an hour wait. We fully understand a wait list, but having heard the exception for the person with an incomplete party in front of us it absolutely left a poor taste for the business. A vintage style diner gives the family, local, anyone is welcome vibe we encountered more of a if you appeal to the host you get priority experience. We did however drop into Grumpy George down the block & the food was incredible. No wait and the staff was friendly & great spirited.

I should be on my way home at this point. For comparison, compared to some of the Mexican food joints I go to, the guys move at a fraction of the speed. Edit** got my food and moved it up 1 star for two reasons. The waitress behind the bar is the only reason this restaurant might survive. Also, although the food was kind of warm and the my over medium eggs still had placental fluids after I waited 45 minutes you could tell it might not be the cheapest Sysco options. It looks fairly good quality food. Now just to improve the kitchen

We split the smash burger and hot dog, both were great. The only negative is the fries. They came out a little under cooked. Flo was happy to replace the fries. Overall our experience was great! I would recommend!

Quality of food was excellent, however portions were small. Only one side comes with the CFS. anymore is an add on also very small portion. Once they add dessert to the menu you ll definitely have room for it. Will try breakfast next time, saw an order of pancakes come out and they were big and fluffy.

Several tables were empty but still dirty. We were sat in the back around big parties that keep standing right next to us and shouting for therest of their parties towards the front. Order was dropped off at a different table. Had to wait on it to be remade. Bun was the best thing about the burger. Fries were soggy from the grease. Waitress was nice, only reason I didn t put 1 star on everything. Doesn t live up to the hype on social media.

What an amazing place! Reminds me a little of Johnny Rockets when they first opened and it was good. 50s music and than classic diner feel/smell. Great vibe, great service, and most important - great burgers! Visited for the first time today, and cant wait to return. I was not paid for this review. If I was, Id take the money and buy more Gold Burgers.

Oh my gosh. Totally worth the 30 minute wait. This diner gets back to the basics. Awesome burgers, fries and prices. A terrific team of servers greeted us outside, took our name and number, then texted us when our table was ready. Inside the staff, both young and old, worked like a well harmonized orchestra. Great food and service. Thank you. Vegetarian options: A Vegan burger. Kid-friendliness: A great family atmosphere. Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant is wheelchair friendly.

We stopped by for an early dinner on Friday afternoon. We were seated right away but the restaurant started to fill up quickly with people eager to try a new spot. As with any new place, there were certainly some growing pains, i.e. out of kids menus, out of iced tea and lemonade, slippery/greasy floor in the dining room. However, I have a feeling that Gold Burger has lots of potential to be a staple on the Georgetown Square. Classic diner fare. I really enjoyed the burger and my husband had the fried chicken which was delicious. I really want to come back to try breakfast. A welcome addition to the Square.

Made sure my pregnant wife and I got a booth instead of bar seating; was a very nice gesture to make her comfortable. Both their burger and fried chicken sandwich were incredible. Well worth it to come on in. Happy to welcome this place to Georgetown!

On the Square with a throwback buildout. Service was swift, food was on point (I had the 2x Smash Burger with jalapeños) & the bill was modest. 45 minute wait was worth it & gave us time to visit a few of the shops clustered around the courthouse. Happy we made the roadtrip from west Austin we ll be back!

Went for lunch on Friday just about two weeks after they opened, arrived before the rush and Antoine (the GM) met patrons with a smile and was helping clear tables and get everyone seated quickly. The decor honors the past and delivers all the classics, from the jukebox, the booths, lighting and the uniforms. Love the open kitchen concept! Coffee and the best blueberry pancake I ve had in town, all for around $10. Fresh blueberries and a fluffy pancake. It only cost me more because I wanted to tip our excellent server! Breakfast only goes until 11am, but the bonus is they will still serve chocolate chip, blueberry and plain pancakes all day. My friend had the Gold Standard burger and she said it was the best burger she s had in Georgetown. They give you the option to have a thicker burger or two smash burgers. Love that choice! Can t wait until they have shakes and malts, I will be returning for sure!

My group ordered burgers. Those were good . I was not fan of the French fries. They were almost like shoe string fries. Drinks are good. Staff is very friendly and attentive. We did go at peak time so there was a 1 hour wait, but the place is new and that was expected as with most new food places in Georgetown. Will be back again.

The best atmosphere. Old world diner where your cocktails are served in a coffee mug. The burger was excellent, the fries are like a better version of In-&-Out. The club sandwich had a pesto aioli which really made the sandwich. You can order dinner or lunch at lunchtime. Pro Tip: Ask for extra Burger Sauce on the side. The kitchen was spotless, servers and host were so nice and so welcoming. I love that this place opens at 7am for Breakfast, which is served ONLY until 11am.
