ROACH MOTEL!! Check in went well. Then I walked into the room and crunched a roach. A couple others on the floor and more on the desk. Took a picture of the ones on the desk. No refund allowed. Bugs isn t a valid reason to not stay and request a refund apparently. Pictures are of the roaches on the desk. Location was great. Reception was okay with my pet (had to see my dog the it had a 10 hour drive that day to make sure it wasnt aggressive...and when my dog barked because she approached the vehicle with my husband-she was going to refuse the room). After we got that straight, we went to the non-smoking room that smelled like you were in a pile of marijuana. The TV was not working and the receptionist wasnt very knowledgeable on directing how to get it to work either...

The staff here is horrible, they are rude and very inconsiderate. Handicapped accessible rooms are not fully wheelchair accessible. Also if you put up the deposit in cash you wont get it back at all. Its very noisy and the police are constantly being called out here. I was here 2 days and have seen the police addressing issues in this motel 3 times in that short period. Different rooms each time. Noteworthy details: DONT STAY HERE

COCKROACHES COCKROACHES DONT STAY HERE!!!! My wife on my daughter had to stay at this hotel 2 nights out of 3, even though there were cockroaches in the room , including on the bed. I requested a full refound because of the inconvenience and said they said it was the same in other rooms. They were not willing to even offer anything for the inconvenience. I spoke with his Expedia since I booked through them, and they said that were not able provide any refund since the hotel did not approve.

Horrible hotel. Construction made it hard to get to. Shows hot breakfast online and at the front desk, but they only have muffins and yogurt. Nothing hot like it shows. The room was in bad shape. Outdated and needs some repairs. The bathroom was disgusting. Worst 1 I have stayed at. Rooms: Outdated and had a weird smell to the room. Food and drinks: No hot breakfast like advertised. That was 1 of the reasons I picked this. That and it was close to where our family lives that we was visiting. Noteworthy details: There are better hotels out there. Save your money. Not worth it!!

Oh boy.. so theres no elevator (just in case you have a party that is disabled). the guy at the front counter is lazy and as useful as dehydrated water. Refused to send anyone to fix a clogged sink and refused to even try. He gave my wife a plunger is as far as he went. The front lady that we spoke the next day was awesome. She tried her best. Continental breakfast consists of 2 types of cereals and waffles. To make this place better.. start by getting rid of the useless sack of sh1t that was working the front desk on Saturday night. Updates: the useless douche nugget called the cops on us for taking pictures for the ADA. At least we know he can use a phone. but everything else the dead bug sitting in the lot can do a better job And check out day updates: they refused to give us a receipt. They call gm and gm doesnt know how to print one. After cops was threatened, magically a receipt got printed. I swear it is like a bad joke

I got in late after a long day traveling. It was in right on my way home and to my surprise Miss Lise at the front desk was amazing. I was tired and she went above and beyond to get me taken care of. Travel every week for work and I absolutely would recommend this place beds are extremely comfortable.

Had roaches and the ladies at the counter talked about race the whole time. While checking in. She stated she don t see color and yet telling us about all the races in her family. Lady you do see color! Typical we just wanted a room after we booked and had a long trip to get there. Just keep it professional we don t look at race just wanted a room. We visited my Fiance son, for his Birthday. I booked the room, and what the room actually looks like are totally different. First of all I didnt have any idea that we would be on the second floor without a elevator. I did not like the fact that we had to go up & down stairs. Definitely didnt like the fact that we couldnt change rooms. My Fiance is a Vetran, and have mobility issues. The lady at the front desk called the Manager, and still our issues were not resolved. Also the Free Breakfast was always put up when I came to retrieve my breakfast. I didnt think that this Hotel would be so inconvenient. So it will always be a No for me at this Hotel, more like a motel.

Location great. Been here awhile now due to having to sell the house after wife passed. Very accommodating. Lisa and Mendoza have gone above and beyond. I have had a couple run ins here and there about some miscommunication, but overall its been handled with courtesy and in an adult manner. Only thing Id like to see for people that stay long term is a pet fee thats one time rather than having to add 10 dollars a day for months and months. Its not the price that bothers me. its just the repetitiveness. Price is average and room has not had any issue. Out if 5 starts Ill give it a 4. No ones perfect

Just to save your money, I booked a hotel here for three nights. After taking a shower on the first night, I used their bath towel, which made me itchy all over. I asked to change rooms that night, and they refused us on the excuse that there were no vacancies. At the same time, a guest came and asked if there were any available rooms. The front desk clerk replied that there were hairs on the bed and the pillows had a peculiar smell. I left the hotel that night and they refused to refund us! We spent two weeks here and the place was great! The first weekend we were there unfortunately a drunk driver took out the electrical power! This person cut the power pole in half with his car and was not a easy or quick fix. Nothing was working and the electricity was out for most of day. Tony was great and kept us informed. The hotel was not responsible for the damaged caused by drunk driver. But several guest were upset there was no breakfast no electricity equals no breakfast. The hotel is easy access off the highway near to several restaurants. The maids were great and the hotel is clean and comfy! We enjoyed our stay and Tony and the rest of the staff our wonderful!

My room was horrible ceiling stripping by the smoke detector. Sheets crushed like someone was sleeping in the bed. Mold in the ceiling. Toilet would not flush on my last day of leaving. Room was cold, could not get the thermostat past 70 degrees Add insult to injury when I was leaving the person from the front desk went and checked my room before I checked out I was totally insulted. I am not a thief Wouldnt recommend this hotel.

I work for choice hotels for ten years I travelled everywhere with choice hotels never in my life would I come back here the workers are so rude . they took four charges on my card wouldn t put it back until I left still waiting . On Saturday lost power due to fatal accident went to ask the man in the morning for something to eat with taking my pills he said no rude man can t believe he has stayed there for 14 years . Be warned. This is not like other quality inns. They charge you the deposit up front. Everything reeks of cigarette smoke. The front desk gentleman claimed he couldnt smell cigarette smoke when he came to check my room (I feel like I am going to have to fight to get my deposit back) he made it smell worse. he stank like he just threw down his cigarette to come and check on the smell of cigarette smoke. Smfh. I suspect its his constant smoking that is coming in through the wall unit, or someones. The whole facility just smells like a cigarette. Disgusting hotel. breakfast was the normal raisin brand, fruit loop cereal that is at most, but I dont know if the waffle maker worked or not since both employees were messing with it and couldnt seem to figure out why it wasnt working. Horrible experience. The worst Ive seen so far, and I have a large enough sample size now to kind of see a pattern to which quality inns are good or decent, and which ones will most likely be bad. The funny thing is the differences are minimal. Its just the difference between being super cheap, and economical. These folks are on the super cheap side. Rooms: Non smoking room still smelled like smoke anyway. The front desk person said he couldnt smell anything, but he actually made it smell worse when he came in.

I went there with a group upon arrival we were told we couldnt check in because the person who blocked the rooms wasnt there and wont be there until 10pm. However after talking to the representative she check us in because she realized that we had individual credit cards. They took a deposit of $100. The room was cold the heat didnt work. There was a man there Saturday morning who was very rude he didnt want to answer our questions. We were talking among ourselves and he felt offended saying we were bashing the hotel and tried to blame everything on the power outage. I want to share my experience at the Quality Inn In Garland was not a great experience for me. Starting with as soon as I checked in on Friday 19th I was told I had to make a 100 dollar deposit. I was not aware about this added charge when I called and booked my room. So going forward to my second Day at like 4am Saturday morning the power went out and we as the guests were not informed about what happened we had to go outside in 23 degree cold weather. We were without power from 4:00 am to after 2:30 pm. We did not get any accomodations at all from the staff. There were bugs crawling on the walls. I was very unhappy with the Quality Inn suites. That was my first time visiting Texas ever.

I have been an interstate/ international traveler since the early 90s and never in all of those years have I experienced such subpar service and amenities at a hotel as I did at the Quality Inn in Garland. I was charged $120 (at least) for the 2 nights I stayed at the facility and $100 dollars for a security deposit. I am seeing these rooms now being listed for as little as $53 but the group rate of $70 I was quoted mysteriously could not be honored. I found it not so funny that check in wasn t until 3 pm but my card was charged by 12noon. If I hadn t had to take an early flight because of a northeastern snow storm, perhaps I would not have been so early. Upon entering my room, the toilet had plumbing issues, there was no iron, the hair dryer didn t work and roaches and spiders apparently wanted to share the room with me. Finding it even less funny, there was a power outage on day two from 5am until 2pm in 23 degree temperatures. You would think staff would notify the guests about what was going on (maybe knock on doors to let know what was going on????) But no Apparently, I should have offered some grace to the Quality Inn for all my trivial inconveniences while the same Quality Inn offered me no grace in consideration of honoring quoted prices, travel distance and weather conditions. Also, it s probably not a good idea to work at a hotel if honest critique of your establishment causes a temper tantrum and staff members who solicit cash deposits (see Ron Hamilton s review) make the establishment seem sketchy . I would hope that Choice Hotels would disassociate from Quality Inn with the same fervor as the Quality Inn Garland staff have denounced association with Choice Hotels. It s disgraceful to charge guests more than $50 for lodging at the Garland property. Potential quest should read each review carefully before booking.

BEWARE!!!! This Hotel and staff do not honor policy! i booked a room weeks in advanced. I canceled within the cancelation time frame and I was still charged. Expedia agreed that I was wrongfully charged and tried for weeks to get my refund. They refused even with proof that I should have not been charged. I called trusting that it was a simple mistake and was rudely told that I would not get a refund by a woman that awnsered the call at the hotel. DO NOT TRUST THIS HOTEL OR STAFF WITH YOUR FINANCIAL INFORMATION, I do not recommend ever giving this establishment a credit card number they are not trust worthy. CROOKS!!!

It was midrange for price $80 convenience of being very close to I30 . But the traffic noise is loud. I did get some sleep. One room had hair in the bed and they had to get fresh sheets, our room was clean. Appears to be updated. Easy to get to if youre traveling West on 30 . But if youre going East then its a little tricky in the night and not good parking if youre towing something. The breakfast was very minimal coffee ,cereal, yogurt, waffle maker. Stayed there Sunday, September 10th, 2023. Weird check in. Gave them a $100 cash security deposit because I was told it could take up to 14 days for the deposit to be refunded had I used my credit card. At checkout, they send housekeeping to your room to ensure you didnt break or steal anything, I suppose, and if all goes well, they give your your $100 cash back. Weird and clunky process. Now, the room: BUGS!! I found a dead cockroach in the bathtub, which, granted, is better than a live cockroach. What killed the roach? Perhaps the many of other small roach-looking alive bugs in the room. Population control? Only the bugs know for sure. I killed 4 of the little guys and counted 3 more that I didnt get to. Surely there were more. I feel halfway ripped off. It seems like the bugs should pay part of the room charge. See pics for the dead roach and for an example of the many small bugs. Where to begin...the room was clean or at least appeared that way.. there were stains on the top bed cover...the water facet is like a pressure washer. It sprays everywhere. The 1st morning we went down for breakfast and all that was available was bran flakes and waffles, only problem the milk was on the brink of being soured. So we chose not to eat breakfast there anymore. That evening when we returned to the room the bed was made but they forgot to add toilet tissue back on the roll or empty the garbage. We also noticed a very large burn area on the comforter that goes between the sheets and the top cover. The next evening when we returned to the room they hadnt even cleaned the room or made the bed period. We had to go to the front desk and ask for clean towels, wash rags, toilet tissue and coffee. I was relieved the last night we stayed the room was cleaned properly and they actually changed the burned comforter. Only problem was the ice machine quit working the last night we were there. I would never stay here again. The people at the front desk were friendly, but the total experience was terrible. It was just one thing after another.

I had some unexpected car problems while staying here, and the owner actually brought her own car around so the maintenance man could give me a jump. The front office staff were friendly and kind. Ive stayed here a number of times over the years, and I love it because its right on the lake. They helped me figure out how to use Uber so I could go out to eat on the 2 days I was without a car. Even with the problems, I had a very pleasant stay.

Honestly, anybody going here can tell this is a cheap hotel. Cheap hotels generally have issues, but some are better than others. The first room we got smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, Annie, the awesome front desk clerk promptly got us switched into a different room. That room was clean and had no problems. She did went above and beyond with that and being friendly/helpful and taking care of everyone during the breakfast rush. She s a great employee and we look forward to coming back. Again this is a cheap hotel with cheap hotel issues but I think it was a great bang for the buck, has a good location, and great service.

Pretty rough experience here. Loud neighbors, lots of traffic noise from the interstate. Not much sound insulation in the walls. Very strong cigarette odor in my room, cigarette burns in the sheets as well. It was bad enough that I had to leave and go to another hotel after a while. Old. Two large holes about the size of a quarter at the bottom of the doorway leading outside. You can see the sunlight shining through these holes. Found a dead cricket as I entered the room for the first time. Air conditioning unit would not turn down or off. I had to unplug it and found the large hole in the socket. Very dangerous situation. A child could have stuck their finger in there and got a terrible shock. I notified the front desk about this..

Rooms were spacious. Nice, clean pool and ice machine close to the pool. Non smoking rooms. The manager was rude and mean at checkout. We were prepaid at a sister hotel for a couple more days, but we got moved to this one and they came at 11:00 a.m. and told us it was check out time and to leave even though we were prepaid. He said you need to vacate now or Im calling the police in 10 minutes, but then we got the confirmation details corrected by customer service over the phone... so we continued to stay there.

I was charged and didn t stay. My card was run the day I made the reservation without my consent. I was promised to check in early at an extra charge due to repairs on my house. The unauthorized charge was made, room wasn t ready as promised. I asked to please make sure it could happen due to work calls and zoom meetings. It wasn t ready and said to give her a couple of hours. It may or may not be ready. Go a couple of miles up and use the Rowlett location. Great customer service and much cleaner upon entry of the lobby. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! They refuse to reimburse the unauthorized charge. That is considered theft!!!

Roaches, dirty floors, dirty sheets and air wouldn t work. But the roaches were awful and everywhere. We killed some on the walls, and had them on the bed and all over the nightstands. Well the rooms are the best youre going to get for a place like this. What we didnt like was the people outside smoking and they leave cigarette butts everywhere. There was also a woman and her friends hanging around in their car in the parking lot. They were being loud and she asked me if she could use my restroom. I told her no. When we arrived, I didnt like the feel of the place because of all the people hanging around but the manager lady inside assured me that it was ok and she been there for 20 years so that made me feel good enough to go ahead and stay.

The woman that checked us in was fantastic. However, this morning around 6am we had about 5 gallons of water come in through the bathroom ceiling around the light fixture, apparently the toilet in the room above us overflowed. And the two people at the front seemed completely unconcerned once they told the room above to not run anymore water. Did absolutely nothing about it beyond give me some towels to clean it up..

The deep voice lady at the front desk was very rude and racially profiling me. I came there not not know which way the front door was and she immediately started asking me about why I parked where I did which was none of her business, then she ask how many people telling me she didn t have room then I could make another reservation and she ll see what she can do then walked to the back so I left to go to the store. Called later to see if she received my other reservation and she said it was canceled because I left mad which how would she know because she didn t see me besides when I was in the car. She cares more about her smoking cigarettes than doing her job smdh.

Last night on 12/24/21 I came in to your Hotel, I tried to use my credit card and they couldn t process payment with my card so the front desk attendant told me I could pay cash and so I did, she had me sign paperwork and took my cash payment with a deposit. I got my room key (Room 214) left my things in the room and I later left for the night and returned at 2am and my key card was not working. I went to the front desk to let them know and all they could tell me was that there was no reservation under my name! I said yes I have my room key but it s not working all of my personal items are in there! Can you please help me at least to get my things from the room and they said there was nothing they could do, someone else is staying in that room, imagine this happening at 2 am! The attendant told me she could contact the person that made my reservation, she lives close by she can come in like 20 minutes. Then she came in and apologized for the inconvenience, she did not enter the reservation information into the computer for some reason. At this point I m losing my mind! My items are in the room all I want is to get my things and leave. They told me the person or people that are in the room took the items to the office. I got my luggage and trusting everything was returned, I never checked in the luggage. We left the hotel the next morning and on 12/25/21 we noticed some personal items that we have just purchased from some store was missing. I spoke to Tom, the hotel manager, and let him know that items were stolen and he said there was nothing he could do. I really don t care about the personal items, I do but the worst thing is not getting any rest! I would like a refund for the inconvenience of my whole experience with the reservation not being booked properly. Please help me out, this was the worst experience, I have never experienced anything like this at any hotel.

The initial booking process through Bookings website went smooth. When I arrived, the young lady, I forgot her name not the owner Barbara but she was great, greeted us and explained the process. She handed us our key and on we went. Before I begin to explain why I am writing this review, I have to mention, my gut instinct to cancel on arrival was a gut feeling I should ve listened to. They re remodeling the outside and the way the workers have everything laid out is an incredible safety hazard especially for children. So we begin. We booked a NON smoking room. We expected at least that. For the price we paid, we didn t expect a Hilton or Sheraton, but at least the room we book. Immediately after opening our room door, we were greeted with a powerful smell of cigarettes and marijuana combined with wet dog. Pets are allowed, that part wasn t a major concern; however, you d expect a decent cleaning to help with that. Anywho, the smell of smoke was incredibly putrid. My daughter (8.5 weeks of age) and myself can t tolerate the smell, as it prohibits our proper breathing. My wife and older kids were sneezing. We raised the concern immediately and their initial response was to send the lady that helped us on contact to spray our room with Fabreeze. Really? I thought, whatever maybe it ll clear out after we go out on the town to enjoy our day. Well we left for about 5 hrs, and when we returned, the room was worse than before. I mean, it was awful. We returned to the counter and there stood Barbara. The second we mentioned we had an issue with the room, instead of taking ownership and holding herself accountable, she threw her cleaning staff under the bus and ran them over twice. She half-way believed our claim, until we mentioned the other lady came to spray and smelled it herself. Barbara didn t want to come and see for herself. Instead, she blamed us for not coming sooner (which we did) and that there was nothing she could do. She couldn t switch us rooms because she claimed they were all filled. She wouldn t issue a refund. Instead, she told us we were SOL and we had to call the booking agency we booked through, even though the motel took our payment. After about 40 minutes on the phone with booking, they informed me Barbara would be willing to cancel the remainder of our stay, minus one night. We had to pay for our first night, even though we didn t stay there for the night. Heck the second we checked in we stepped out. We spent a total of 2.5-3 physical hours in the room before being forced out by the odor. I decided to cut my losses, accept a refund for my other night, and move on. I found a deal with Hilton and will never look at a quality inn for as long as I live. **the room was filthy might I add. Carpets had major stains, the bookshelf/entertainment center was caked with residue and liquid stains, the bedding had crumbs on them and holes in them. It was what you d expect if you found yourself finding a room at a homeless shelter, however, even that could possibly have been in better condition than the room at this motel. Shame on you Quality inn.

Would give it a MINUS 2-star rating if that were available. First off, the place looks like a WAR ZONE with all the exterior construction. Scaffolding everywhere and lots of debris; difficult to get to your room. NOT fully disclosed during reservation process. Second, when I got to my assigned room and opened the door, I literally gagged. Overwhelming smell of CAT URINE!! Couldnt handle that, so told them they could give me another room or a refund. They gave me another room (a suite) at the same price; at least that was nice. But... the new room smelled of mildew plus wet mortar and stucco (the latter were being applied to the building just outside my door and on the second floor above me). Then there was the Internet! I couldnt connect after multiple attempts (and Im a 40-year I. T. professional). Went down to the office and after some technical wrestling (which involved manually entering an IP address), I was able to get connected. THEN I ran a speed test. Wow! Under 9Mbit down and 2 up. Not quite the premium service advertised, but great for 25-year ago DSL. Oh yeah, than about the free breakfast which I was told they had when I made my reservation. In truth, NO breakfast whatsoever. I will say the people in the office were nice, but would recommend STAYING AWAY from this place... at least until they get it all rebuilt. NOT worth the $93 room rate... or even half that!!

As a Diamond member I felt unappreciated! The woman who checked me in kept mentioning wearing a mask to me. I walked in there was a man in the lobby no mask on, then a woman behind no mask on! this property is currently under construction. the desk clerk working the afternoon we arrived was interesting. she told us it was the booking sites fault that our reservation was unavailable. she made no effort to offer us help, even though we were travelling with my mother who uses a walker. the desk clerk told me i can not put you in a room without a reservation. at that point i contacted he booking site and they contacted the property. the solutions offered were; 1) we could request to cancel our booking at that property and find another, or 2) rent a room directly from the property and upon email confirmarion of our direct booking, the booking site would issue a refund for the difference in price. we chose option 2. during check in, i provided my email address for a receipt, but never received it. after check in, i went to the booking site to cancel the original reservation and found the property requesting a cancellation fee. the next morning, with still no email reciept or contact from the property, i contacted the booking site and they contacted the property, again. the booking site was told that i had not, in fact, stayed at their property and they would not waive the cancellation fee for the reservation they initially told me they never had. the booking site then cancelled the original reservation for me, with no fee (thank goodness). after interaction with other employees and a pain free checkout process with a lovely woman we realized that this was all due to our interaction with the desk clerk that had been on duty when we arrived. she told me everything was the booking sites fault: the lack of reservation, the inaccurate property description. everything. other issues we had are that we specifically booked this property because it was advertised with a hot tub, which it does not have. the photos on google are not accurate. i will include accurate photos i took this morning.

We booked for 31st July 2021, checked in around 8:30 pm fresh n up and left the room again, and returned at 1:30 am in the night. While checking out the cleaner lady came to our room and asked us how long are we taking and we said we are about to leave. Today I see I was charged an additional $75 as we broke the TV. I have been traveling almost every other month and I haven t come across anything like this. Firstly me and my friend didn t watch TV. When i called the operator he was not helpful and hung up stating he has people in front of him. The issues we had in the hotel. The bathroom door has a big whole. The shower drainge is pathetic. The hairdryer literally had sparks coming out(hence i carry my own hairdryer for emergency). We hardly had time to go through all of this and just wanted a room to sleep and here we go we are blamed for something we haven t done.

The room had an odor, bathroom was very dark. No light over mirror or shower/tub area, no coffee maker but had coffee in the bottom drawer. AA woman at front desk told me I had to walk to the pool area to get ice. But said she would let me in to use the vending machine, which had an ice machine beside it. There was no working HBO in the 3 rooms I was in but I could have overlooked that. There is no free brkst, attributed to Covid-19, although other establishments have found ways to do it safely (pre-packaged items or sack lunches). I could have overlooked this too. There is no working laundry facilities, as advert. attributed to them being broken and pending repair, although I found out it has been this way for, perhaps, a year or more and no repair is pending. This was very inconvenient but I was willing to overlook this too. After staying 3+ weeks (about 24 days) I was going to leave but knew if I stayed 30 days or more I would be able to have the taxes on my stay refunded. So I stayed a little longer. After spending about two thousand dollars there, rarely requesting anything (housekeeping, supplies, etc) in the usual attempt to minimize their expenses, they refused to refund the taxes. They say its because I booked through priceline (not paying their usual rate), and to them periodically checking me out and back in when I rebooked. I did not ask to be checked out. I simply rebooked, extending my stay periodically. The TX comptrollers website CLEARLY says checking out and back in on the same day does NOT break the 30 consec. day rule and I showed them this. Still they refused. I wanted to address this w the manager/owner (who apparently made this decision) but he was not made available and was, apparently, unwilling to discuss this. The taxes wont be due to the state, yet were collected, So into the proprietors pocket it goes. Is loosing a potential repeat customer worth it? I guess in their estimation it was.
