Even one star rating is more than what this place deserves! I won t ever go back there!!! Not even if they gave me free tickets. This place is a total rip off. Flat rate general admission almost 60$ even for children, $30 parking (that was the middle tier parking lot), overpriced concession foods. The lazy river was probably the best attraction that was actually operating. Half of the park (with the best slides) was closed off. Shameful!! As a local here, I strongly urge the out-of-town folks to not waste any of your hard earned money here. Just stick with the beach and local restaurants.

I had to come back and change my rating. I look forward to coming to Schlitterbahn every year but when I was going to get the season pass I decided to go for a second time this year. Well I m not sure why the life vests were enforced since it sucked the fun out of being free and relaxed. I do think maybe the children should wear them only but not sure why the adults had to. That should be optional. There weren t even enough for everyone but also having half the park closed was a bummer. I will have to find another waterpark to attend from now on. It was more of a stressful experience being there this time when it s supposed to be a fun time.

The price has gotten ridiculous and waiting in lines is even worse and the fact that you have to pay extra just to be able to get on the ride without waiting its ridiculous cuz theyre going to do that fine charge for the extra wristband but dont go and charge more for entry. We waited in line more than we were able to actually ride

It is a very nice place to enjoy with the family, unfortunately if it is not a holiday and you go on a normal weekend they have almost the entire place closed, slides and the river too, we asked security and he said that they close almost everything because THERE ARE NOT MANY PEOPLE Are those of us who are going animals? We paid full admission just to enjoy a quarter of the entire place, disappointing, if they close everything they should charge half price for the entrance

Its going downhill fast. We bought season passes this year and were disappointed to see 1/2 of the slides closed all season. Management is a mess, long and slow food lines with only 1/2 of food menus open and no organization for those that are. Today park opens 1 hour after advertised time. I predict this place will be bankrupt or sold to new owner in next 5 years. Update: It was sold to Six Flags. They changed lazy river requirement to require lifejackets. Over half the park still closed except for a few weeks in July. I anticipate improvement next season but wont be around to find out.

I have been to maybe 10 different water parks and this one is right near the bottom. We went on a Sunday for a Holiday weekend and the two largest waterslides were closed. We went into the lazy river which was fun but they had half of it closed and there were so many people in the part that was open that everyone was just bumping off each other. Lines were not that long but the waits were excessive on the rides that were open. Biggest problem I see they have is cycle time. At least 30 seconds for any ride that had tubes. I do not mind standing in line, but to stand in a line that isnt moving? No thanks.

I firmly believe in providing truthful and accurate reviews. For my daughters 8th birthday, I decided to visit Schlitterbahn on August 24, 2024, and booked the larger Grand Pavilion A, which accommodates up to 24 guests. Upon arrival at 11:45 am, I found the pavilion extremely dirty. There was a layer of dust and dirt on everything, bird droppings on each chair and table, dead insects and roaches on the floor, and spider webs covering all surfaces. Fortunately, I had brought cleaning supplies and spent the first half-hour tidying up before my guests arrived. My server, who was excellent, assisted in cleaning the remaining furniture. Although it wasnt her responsibility, she did so without complaint. I reported the issue to guest services and spoke with a manager who apologized and promised to inform park services about the oversight. She mentioned that pavilions are meant to be cleaned every morning, but it seemed this one hadnt been cleaned for weeks, possibly due to its higher rental price of $746. Despite expressing my dissatisfaction and the significant amount I spent, over $1500, the manager offered no compensation, not even a complimentary pizza. This experience was highly disappointing, and I doubt I will return to this Schlitterbahn location. Instead, I plan to visit the New Braunfels site, especially since half of the park was closed during our visit.

They refuse to refund. We left after 45 minutes and it was my son s birthday. On top of that the lazy river and wave pool you have to wear a life jacket. It is so uncomfortable while on a float. Will never go back. They are still arguing with me by email about their no refund policy. I have never been to a theme park or waterpark and they have half the park closed. Horrible customer serve and management. They park manager that I spoke to was useless.

I go there with my family regularly. We got a season pass in order to go as many times as we can. It is better to have a season pass than to pay each time 50 dollars for each person! The water park is big and has a lot of slides. In order to be able to enjoy sliding and not to wait hours before getting on the slide, it is better to arrive early in the morning or at least around noon or 1 PM. The big advantage of this place is that you can bring your foods in a cooler. The lazy river is very nice, it goes all around the park. They added waves to the river to entertain the public. Everybody is obligated to wear a lifesaver jacket to go to swim. The water is clean in general. It is of course better to go in the morning or the day it opens. The team is composed only of teenagers almost. Some are nice, others can be rude and not welcoming. The only thing I personally did not like is that the floors can be very dirty and the showers as well. More cleaning in these areas should be appreciated. Apart from that, it is a very nice place to relax with family.

Stay away from this poorly run waterpark!! When we purchased tickets online, we were expecting a fun day at the park and exciting rides. Little did we know there was only a tiny section of the park open and a few rides to do. The majority of the park was closed. Because of this we waited 2 hours for a ride. When we complained about it to guest services, they were extremely rude and said warnings were posted all over online and at the park. There was nothing about it in the park, and I had to DIG through terms and conditions to find anything about their supposed bonus days where most of the park is closed. Also they cook food on the dirt ground behind the restaurants in some kind of catering tray we saw it when up on the top of one of the rides. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE avoid this place! Horrible management, horrible operations, horrible service, horrible food!!!!!

If I could give this 0 I would. Horrible experience DO NOT GO. Where do I start? Confusing parking there is about 5 different parking lots all with a different fee. One free parking that is like a mile walk. once you walk in the park it smells like a literal sewer. And we saw that nasty water with a bunch of poor turtles swimming in it. Then inside, they tell us more than a ONE THIRD OF THE PARK WAS CLOSED. there are 3 sections 1 was completely cut off, 1 was open and the last was partially open. Not to mention it was $60 per person. Inside its very confusing even with a map, we couldnt find a place to set up because everywhere was taken. The steps up to rides were disgusting. and even in the water was so gross. we were there almost 5 hours and got to ride about 5 slides. the lines were so long and so slow but very confusing because some rides needed a floaty tube to go on and we had to wait in a entire other line for just the tube for 1 ride. stupid design and my boyfriend lost his promise ring in like the first 10 minutes. we tried looking for it but could only find trash. dont go here. its a waste of money, time, and space.

I have been wanting to go to schlitterbahn for YEARS. We plan a whole weekend family vacation just to come here to be highly disappointed. Half of the water park is closed, and we have to wait over an hour and a half just to get on the first slide. Paid for a family of 7 just to ruin our whole trip and basically get told that s how bonus days are. Best slides are closed? Lazy river closed??!! But regular people who have never been there are supposed to just know how bonus days are?? Worst experience at a water park or any other park I have ever been to. They don t care about you. Also very expensive to get in for only one person, family of six cost over $400 to get in for only one day. Would have more fun playing in a parking lot puddle. If you are in the area and are interested in going, just go to the beach. I promise that you would have a much better time and $400 still in your wallet.

I rarely leave reviews but I wanted to say how well the security team came together during my personal crisis. My 13 year old autistic son ran away from the ride he was supposed to be at with his sister and got lost. Hes not the best swimmer and I didnt know if he was in the park or walked out on his own. We tried to locate him ourselves thinking he would be near where we were but he wasnt there. By now Im panicking and went to guest services who called security. I gave them a description and they quickly informed the exit area to not let anyone who looked like him out of the park and started the search. It didnt take long for them to track him down (found him having a joy ride on the lazy river) and bring him back to us safe and sound. Thank you so very much to men on the security team who quickly came together to find my son!!!

Im giving this place 3 stars because I had lots of fun with my kids, but it actually deserves just 2. But tickets in advance - they are $10 to $15 cheaper. Stairs to the slides had trash on the sidelines (put a trash can!) and the service wasnt the best. Staff rest area was a rickety shack where they had to sit on the floor to eat their snacks - I felt bad for them. They dont clean the trash cans frequently enough so every time you walk past them they stink. They could do a way better job for the $60/person I paid (weekday). Half of the park was closed. The boogie board was the highlight of the day for us! Galveston deserves better.

Oh my goodness, this is the place our 8 & 4 yr old grandsons LOVE going EVERY summer. We have been getting season passes since 2021, we always have to get a fast pass well worth it, but you HAVE to get a souvenir cup, trust me no more carrying in ALL those drinks. One thing I DONT like at all is the guards in the children pool next to the hot tub section, they DONT like keeping an eye on children, guards for the Torrent River dont ALWAYS be watching those who like to take off their vest when it IS REQUIRED at some points, & employees who are off duty think that ALL their friends and/ or family get to go first OVER ur paid for fast pass. These I speak of where my grandsons were trying to get on the boogie board, there was 3 off duty guards who said they boogie board section was gonna be shut down for some 30 minutes or so, then laugh at my grandson because he told the guards he has a fast pass, they in turn told him its shutdown, but continued to allow their friends to go, I asked them what is the problem & why my grandsons go they laughed & said yall stupid. Yes, I did tell one of them if their is a problem laughing at my grandsons, telling them they cant go, & saying we are stupid, I in turn said well lets go outside the gate and see you say that to my. I talked to about 8-10 people (police, security guards, & lifeguard bosses) WITH NO REAL settlement & my grandsons were treated badly by the lifeguard on duty. Also, one other thing I DONT like is they should make it REQUIRED to have a baby in double tubes with bottoms, or do like the New Braunfels parks and have child ONLY tubes. Fix those issues itll be back to a 5-star water park. It depends on what time you arrive on how long you will in Galveston, but New Braunfels is WAY faster to get in.

Purchase 10 tickets for my 9 year olds birthday and a cabana got to the park and half of the park was closed due to a lifeguard shortage. I don t see why my ticket was full price if I only had access to half the park. The three rides that were opened had extremely long lines because those were the only rides open. No wave pool no lazy river and only one small pool was available for my toddler. Mentioned my concerns to the guest service booth and was told that the online site stated that there would be a possible closure of some rides. And that there was nothing they could do. The park had a very dead vibe and felt empty and deserted once other people started finding out most of the park was closed life jackets were mandatory for all guests including adults while doing anything water related. I would never return to this location again I looked like a complete idiot in front of my guests. I do not recommend this park to anyone else and was extremely dissatisfied. More than half the rides at the park were closed for no reason, staff kept chasing guests out of seemingly perfect pools for kids. The lines for any of the rides were over an hour long wait, the staff seemed uninterested in the work, don t blame them they re mostly just teens working summer jobs. But the lack of any real adults working here makes for a poor experience, I would not recommend going here especially for the price of a single day ticket.

I have had a season pass for over 10 years. Since Cedar Park has taken over they have made numerous dumb rules. It has culminated in everyone has to wear a life jacket on the torrent river. The waves can get up to 7 ft. The rule, I was told today, was because some people cant swim. Why do I have to wear a life jacket because someone that doesnt know how to swim came to a water park? This has been our to go to for family quality time in the last decades. This trip we took on 8-17-24 will be out last. The excuse for all this changes was that since covid the new restrictions were put in place. What they don t tell you anywhere is that they were bought over by six flags and evidently are short staffed. We were there at the time they open and the rude staff would not allow me to drop off my elderly parents at the front and instead made them walk to the end of the line. My mom can t stand for long periods of time and my dad has a really bad back. The security I really did not have an issue with although they were not organized at all. The worst was once we got inside. The only part of the park open was the right side. Most of the left side was closed. This used to be a nice place to go and have my whole family enjoy them selfs and relax. The only part of the lazy river that was open was the part with the waves and it was so packed that we felt like we were in the middle of an stampede. Besides the slides that were open the only attraction was the wave pool and the river. When we went to the customer service office we were told that it states on the website that some attractions operating could change with out notice. This park has at least ten small areas for small children that are not connected to the river and where kids normally enjoy but only one or two of them were open and when kids snuck in to try and play there were employees getting them out! There is only two beach areas where you have access to the river and all the other areas where you used to be able to get into the water are no longer accesible. I will not go back. Very disappointed !! If I could give a negative star I would.

We have been season pass holders for 5 years. We will NOT be renewing for next year. This summer started off fine but after hurricane Beryl hit and Six Flags took over, it got very bad, very fast. Last summer they were open until 7pm which was perfect because we went and did the rivers after work at 5pm. Since July, the hours have changed. They don t open until 11pm and close at 6pm. They haven t had the white water rapids (our favorite thing) open since the beginning of the summer. They now force all adults to wear life jackets which is demeaning and unsanitary. They claim the wave river is now a level 5 thrill on par with their water coaster and free fall slides. The only reason the river is dangerous now is because they ve closed half the attractions and forced everyone into a small area of the park. There have been cops there regularly. Most food places aren t open so I can t use my drink pass everywhere that we used to. Now they ve also closed the lay part of the lazy river now as well. We used to come with a group of 8 friends and spend 2 hours in the rivers. You can t do that anymore. No one I know is renewing their pass. It s also bad business to completely change rules on everyone who has already bought their passes. We loved it for 4.5 summers and now we will probably never go back. Especially because of the life jackets. It s hard enough to find a tube and now you have to find a life jacket that someone else has been sweating in all day.

Kid splash areas have either been turned off or water pressure turned so far down they get stuck on slides and have to crawl down. Lifeguards did not appear to be watching for potential drowning victims, but rather focus on park rules (walking where you shouldnt, etc). It was crowded on the Sunday we went, but the lines weren t unbearably long. Tickets are much cheaper to purchase online than in-person at the counter.

We visited on 8/12/2024 We purchased tickets online and purchased parking . We have visited at least 4 times a year for the last several years. Upon arrival we were made to put on life jackets 2 adults and 2 12 year old boys. The water was dirty. We are not used to this from this park at all. After being there about 20 minutes I went to guest services to obtain a refund so that we would leave and go somewhere else When I spoke to Stacy at guest services she said she controls who gets refunds and I am not getting one. It s said to see all of the changes! We would like someone to contact me so we may speak to someone I was treated unfairly and my families day was ruined because of poorly trained staff and poorly maintained facilities. Update I have been blocked by Schlitterbahn on Facebook.

This place was not working at its capacity, and there were a lot of people, only part of the games were working along with the lazy river. They did not want to return our money or a ticket for a different day because we had bought the tickets online. Horrible service; the manager Amber was very disrespectful and not willing to help us out with our situation.

It s fun, water is usually dirty with seagull feathers and chips off the pool floor. The kitchen needs WORK- very disappointing quality for how expensive it is. Plus when you buy the $30 all day food pass before hand, you can only pick from a few items off the menu. God forbid I order a spicy chicken sandwich rather than the regular, lol. Everything is just extremely overpriced and under delivering.

Very disappointed in how Schlitterbahn Galveston is now. Went today 8/11 and spent over $300 for 4 tickets for the family. Only half the park/rides were open which they dont tell you prior to purchasing tickets and which the tickets are not refundable. Not sure when this rule took place but now everyone in the Lazy River must wear a Life Jacket (I really understand the safety aspect for the children and non frequent swimmers but adults should be able to make the decisions to wear one or not or at least sign a Waiver). The lazy river entrance area is horrendous with all the life Jackets on the floor floating around that is a safety concern for someone tripping. Half the park smells sewage. I may seem like Im complaining a lot but I used be a frequent season pass holder and would travel to the other locations with the family but this location has really gone downhill. Employees dont even look their happy to be working there especially with that dont care attitude. Some serious changes need to change before I consider bringing my family back.

My children and I haven t visited the park since 2019. I can say that we were very disappointed with our experience today. As we entered the park, we learned that EVERYONE had to wear a life vest to ride the Torrent River or Wave pool. However, half of the river was closed down which leads me to believe that someone drowned and their plan of correction is for everyone to wear a life vest if they re going to be in those two areas. There s new waiting areas and there s no signs to give you direction so you spend a lot of time walking around trying to figure out what s what. To make matters worse, they re short staffed and the staff that are working are not friendly nor helpful. There s also not enough tables for people to put their things and we ended up sharing a table with two other families. What pushed me off the edge when we got ready to leave was the new locker system that s in place. Historically, you would pay the deposit and get a key on a loop your locker. When you re done you return the key and either get your deposit back or a souvenir cup. Now, it s electronic where you set up an account and it assigns the locker to you and you set up a password. When we got ready to leave and get our belongings the machine if we wanted to access it and continue the rental or access it and end the rental. I chose access and end the rental. It ended the rental without unlocking the locker for me to get our things. I was pissed I had to search for a staff member to help me and found one talking with a coworker in the nearby gift shop. I told her what happened and she told me that she d be there in a minute. After finishing her conversation, she showed up and help us access the locker which I was grateful. What she failed to tell us was to be sure to hold the locker because the door will close on you and it did. So I had to run after her and ask her to wait and come back to reopen it AGAIN. She was cordial but certainly didn t use her words to do any damage control for the awful and frustrating experience. We grabbed our things from the locker and then our belongings from the table and headed to the exit which you now have to go through a gift shop to leave the park. As we re walking down the sidewalk we hear over the speaker system that guests under 48 tall and those who are weak swimmers have to wear life vests and all others it is encouraged. Quite the contrary to what is being conveyed in the park. And lastly, my children are 22 and 23 now so we ve been going to this park for around 20 years and this was the worst experience we ve had.

Now we are being told all the sudden you have to eat life jackets at all times in the water. Even adults. But they do not have enough life jackets to fit everyone. You have to stand in line waiting for life jackets. They are not cleaning them. We will not be getting season passes ever again. This was a total waste of almost $1,000. Update: 8/11/24 (FINAL VISIT) Decided to head out for the final weekend even though we knew the inconvenience of the life jackets and limited entrances. What made it worse this past Saturday is the lack of communication from the business to the customers. The entrance has serious security gaps with the metal detectors. Multiple people passed it and it went off and the staff member only stopped one person. Then the main entrance there are many with coolers and wagons, but they werent even checked thoroughly or at all to see what was in them. Anyone could of brought in a weapon inside the cooler or in the wagons. About 60 percent of the thepark was closed only a few rides and the wave circle pool was open (ONLY). We would inquire and no staff member would know anything of why more than half the store would be closed. The park opened at 11am but the lazy river and rapid river didnt open until 3:30pm. Its really irresponsible for a business to be misleading with information of I dont know response. There seems to be a lack or communication and briefing of staff on business setbacks. Fortunately a staff member finally shared and said, many quit or didnt show up so they are short staffed, underpaid, and overworked. I respect the workers but what I loose respect for is the business itself that fails in training communication, customer service, and customer satisfaction when such things like this take place. I thank each worker because its not easy and not fair in the position they are in. I saw many customers upset, disrespectful, and intimidating to these teenagers that are just doing what they are told. Schlitterbahn, unfortunately, for the prices you have, its not fair that single day pass holders could not get a fair share of communication or refunds for the limited access and time they received. Update your social media and website to convey such setbacks. Update: 7/30/24 Im a season pass holder and unfortunately wont be anymore. I was at the park last week and much changed from last week to this date posted above. Half the rides were closed, the rapid river opened at a later time and the conveyor belt was not working. Its also MANDATORY FOR ALL GUEST TO WEAR LIFE JACKETS. To be transparen, you must wear it during the wave pool circuit and can remove it temporarily for the part thats not the wave pool. But once you reach that split to either do the rapid river or wav, you must put it back on. Very uncomfortable when in the tube, the jacket irritated my skin due to my enzima and the life jacket raises when in the tube. Unfortunately, the experience of the lazy river is no longer the same. The wave pool was extremely heavy and it its a worry of its safety, then the wave pool shouldnt be so intense that safety is a worry. Unfortunately, unless the water park will change its practice due to the wave pool then its a wrap and my final summer at this location. --------- The long lines on the ride are the only headache, also the rapid river needs more safety awareness in case a child flips over.

My two children and I visited the park on Saturday 8/10/24. This is a summary of the experience we had that led to a two star review: 1. We visited the park in Aug 2022 and the online tickets were $45 PP with tax and now they are $58 pp with tax. That is over a 17% increase in two years. That is far above the inflation rate. 2. Even though it is August and school isnt back in session yet, the park is only open from 11-6. 7 hours of operation seems a little short considering the price of the ticket. 3. Many of the rides were closed in Aug 2022 and they are still closed. The lazy river, white water river and wave pool (the wave maker not the actual pool) were closed then and now. The Massiv was closed this time as well which was a huge disappointment because that is the best ride. 4. At the Infinity racers they only have about 15-20 mats deployed so there is a huge line to wait for one but when you get to the slide entrance there is no one waiting. If they would just put out 20 more mats the line would be almost nothing and the slide would run much more efficiently. 5. Lastly, as everyone else is commenting on, EVERYONE is required to wear a life preserver in the torrent river. They dont have enough of them laid out when people try to get in at the wave (not working) pool so there is a huge line. There are plenty if you try to get in at the torrent beach but they dont tell people that or make any attempt to move them from one to the other. Making adults wear a life preserver in the torrent river is excessive in my opinion. Maybe children under a certain height but if an adult cant swim in that they shouldnt be at water park in the first place. We did enjoy what we rode and overall the park seemed maintained (aside from closed rides) and clean.

(2024 update) Do NOT visit. They have a serious employee shortage and some of the rides, including the rapids and the lazy rivers, are closed due to lack of lifeguards. No advance notice and they still charge full price. And for some bizarre reason, EVERYONE now on a river ride now must wear a life vest. (2022 review) 5 stars for the water park, 2 stars deducted for the expensive all day dining plan which is very limited and highly misleading. For one example, we wanted tacos. Based on what appears on the menu board (see photos), we should be able get tacos. But, no. The young woman working there informed us that the tacos are not included. So, again. The water rides are all top notch and worth the visit. The dining plan is not worth the expense.

This place is wack over priced and disorganized. You can t get in the lazy river unless you have a life jacket which is cool safety first right?! But why make that rule if you don t have enough life jackets ??? I m wasting time just standing there waiting on someone to come out the water and take off their vest . And most likely they re gonna keep it on so be prepared to wait . Oh and if you plan on riding any of the slides be prepared to wait if you don t have a flash pass ! Again something that I m used to at a busy water park but to only have 3 floats and a hundred people in line is insane. And to top it off the floats that were available was half deflated so when I went down a slide I slammed my back against something made to help us slide . I couldn t even enjoy the slide because I was pained the whole way down !!! After standing in line for 2 or 3 slides and trying to enjoy the lazy river despite being yelled at for not having a life jacket is all you have time for and remind you it cost 79.99 per adult !!! The only thing that sets this park aside from other water /themed parks is the fact that you can bring coolers with food and beverages!!!

New policy out of Ohio and they do not have enough life jackets... And even with the temperature over 100, they are now on winter hours. Two weeks before school starts. I will try New Bronsville but this is probably my last season pass ever.

The only benefit to going to Galveston Schlitterbahn is if you live in Houston. Otherwise, take the time to go to New Braunfels. This was a 4 hour drive for us and it was a terrible experience. When we got here 30 min before the park opened, there was line snaking around the park into the parking lot is the blazing sun. No shade whatsoever. Then, when it was lunchtime around noon, we went to 2 places to order and at place #1, the ordering machine wasn t working and needed to be restarted. The workers just mumbled amongst each other and made me wait 20 minutes- not one peep as to how long I needed to wait. Then, at place #2, hubby had to wait 30 minutes for them to bring the chili out for their chili cheese dog! Nothing was ready! And the my didn t even have the foot long hot dog ready. The workers here are so incompetent and customer service is not prioritized. Also, the huge lazy river with the whitewater rapid machine was completely closed off in addition to many other rides. It s a Saturday- I would expect most rides to be open! Do not visit here is you can avoid it. Go to the original New Braunfels location. Also, huge tip: buy your tickets in advance. Otherwise, the ticket building is completely different from the entrance to the park. It will be a pain for you to order the tickets and then have to wait in another line to enter.

As a season pass holder I can confirm Aug 3rd, 2024 was a colossal failure of management. See more -> They ve instituted a requirement to wear a life jacket to enter the lazy river. It took asking 5 life guards before one of them could communicate why (4 of them shrugged their shoulders and said I have no idea ). Apparently the lazy river got a new, more powerful wave generator. And so for conceivably insurance purposes, they require a life jacket for everyone. So a couple points here for the management team, this park has operated for I think almost 20 years now. The sort of amateur hour incompetence I ll highlight are unacceptable for this brand. The entire leadership team at the park this Saturday ought to be fired. I implore anyone from the parent company to make an unannounced visit to this park on a Saturday, you will be utterly embarrassed. 1. No where on the website or other means of communication were we told of this change or why. One reason could be Schlitterbahn knows this change will turn many customers away. Most likely just an afterthought/incompetence. 2. There was a complete lack of life jackets available and customers were forced to wait in the 100 degree sun for an hour to find one. The lack of planning for a shortage of life jackets is so unbelievably amateur hour. I was watching mutinies break out, no effort made by employees to organize lines for receiving life jackets, no effort to communicate with customers, no organization for telling customers leaving the lazy river that they need to leave their life jacket behind for the next customer. Absolute pandemonium. 3. Half the rides on this day were closed. And having read the other reviews, looks like they ve been closed for quite a while. Why is this not communicated as soon as customers visit the website? The white water river is one of the most popular attractions yet it seems to have been closed for multiple days now during the busiest time of the season. 4. Your lifeguards have no idea what the communication is from management, and have no means of communicating with management, or even each other! Most of them are completely aloof. No effort made to get ahead of problems.

I am genuinely so very upset at what this place has become. Understaffed. Rude employees. Way too much money spent for the awful service. We brought a friend here for his first water park experience and Im sad to say it was a complete waste of time. Not only did they start demanding adults wear life jackets on a lazy river but half the decent rides were shut down. When we asked multiple employees about the life jacket requirements they said and I quote dont worry about it only some staff will say anything or only people under 48 inches have to wear them. Even as we left we heard on their intercom only people under 48 inches and the elderly are required to wear life jackets We turned around immediately and walked back in to ask to speak to a manager the security guard by the exit door then started getting a attitude and called my husband a b**** as* ni*** and said to get out of his face before he starts to gets loud absolutely unexceptionable to talk to anyone like that. This was the biggest waist of 200$ dollars Ive ever spent.

I want to know who decided to come up with the life vest rule? We visited the park on Friday August 2nd, like many said there s no free parking closer to the park you can pay for VIP for $35 or preferred parking for $20 these 2 parking lots are the ones closest to the park. Second item we noticed was that the indoor are was gone there was nothing covering that side of the park anymore. Plus like many reviews say there were a lot of the rides that were closed for the day. (There was a sign at the entrance but if you buy tickets online you wouldn t know about it). 3rd - souvenir cups they are advertised as you can refill them all over the park well on that particular day the only two spots that have them for refill were at the entrance of the park. 4th - the life jacket rule, while yes it s a good idea like many people stated there wasn t enough for people to use at the same time. I wish they will let us sign a waiver or something and dont make us use the jackets, most of the time they were more of a choking hazard than a safety device. Along with this I saw little to non tubes with the infants seats everyone was holding on to them and there wasn t enough, and again they were forcing everyone on tubes if you were going on the waves well newflash schlitterbahn there s no other way around the river without going on the waves. I m not sure what happened or why they are coming up with this new rules but it has definitely but a bad experience on this trip. They will reconsider or at lest advice on the website about this new rule then we would plan accordingly.

Visited Saturday, August 3, 2024.. Very very very disappointing experience. There s a new life jacket requirement for you to enter the lazy river.. however, there s not enough life jackets for the amount of people they continually allow to flow into the water park. I watched paying customers wait in a line for over an hour to enter the lazy river because there wasn t enough jackets. If you are going to enforce something, please make sure you have enough supply for the demand. On top of not having enough mandated life jackets, the white water rafting part of the park was closed. So there was an overwhelming amount of people in the lazy river and the wave river. I spoke to a manager Jeff , who didn t acknowledge the lack of customer experience these 2 issues were causing paying customers. His only excuse and response to my valid complaints was that they are short staffed and that it s August and a busy summer day .. So who is in charge of hiring and in charge of employee retention? Because if you know it s summer and a busy day you would hire more people.. right? He also stated that notifications are posted OUTSIDE of the park of what attractions are closed for the day to help guests determine if they would like to pay. Which there was NOT any information posted about closures. When I asked him to show me where, his response was I m not sure, I just got here. He was totally dismissive of any customer service and the failed service he was providing. Restrooms were unacceptably dirty and didn t have toilet paper stocked. Then we went to buy a funnel cake, stood in line at the Sweet Shop where there s a screen of menu items. FINALLY my turn at the cashier to order and was told they weren t making funnel cakes at the moment. I asked when would they be made, and the response was not any today. Total waste of time. While some may be fortunate enough to visit parks like this regularly, some people save a lot of money to be able to experience this ONCE. My mother purchased 10 tickets which if you look at the price of each ticket, a lot of money was spent to be very unsatisfied with the experience and unfortunately, this was our ONCE. And it was a total fail and waste of money.

If I could give them a zero... I would! I visited yesterday; Saturday, August 4. 2024. The services were SOOOO BAD from beginning to end that I never want to return here again! The prices are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE and the services are UNACCEPTABLE POOR! Most of the park rides were closed. They just recently, Maybe since yesterday implemented a new rule of being unable to access the lazy river without a life jacket. Which by the way is A GREAT RULE! However, its unplanned implementation and the lack of supply and demand had hundreds of people complaining. While, I stood there at the lazy pool entrance with a special need schilling waiting for over a hour for life jackets to arrive. In which, they NEVER DID. People coming out the pool were reluctant to giving theres up as many people said, it took over a hour to find the one in their possession . This is the ONLY activity at the entire park that she can enjoy. Yet, still unable to because of the lack of proper planning.. I then asked to speak with several managers and waited over soooo long. Until, I finally walked over to Guest Services just to walk a hour longer to speak to 3 other managers. I believe Faith, the Aquatic Manager, and Ian ( The So-Called Head Manager). Whom I was told in charge of closing the entire park. After waiting to speak to them separately in means of rectification. While trying to move up the chain of command. Just to get a refund wa sold they dont do refunds. No matter how horrible the services were and I needed to send a email to the same people I was complaining to... Guest Services. If I had known most of the park was closed and I wouldnt be able to take her in the lazy river nor enjoy getting food because most the vendors were closed. I would have NEVER considered driving 2 hours away. Just to have to go through so many circles asking for better customer service. This was sooo bad that if its nit rectified we will never return here again. This LITERALLY has made the award of being one of my WORST PAID EXPERIENCES AND WASTE OF TIME YET! BEWARE.. AND ASK QUESTIONS prior to payment.. but thats challenging too because paying at the gate could cost you even more. My suggestion is to seek out other places.

I asked about VIP parking but learned that even with VIP parking, I would have to walk down to basically the free parking entrance to get in line for entry to the park because by this point the line was that long. If there s VIP parking, there should be a VIP entrance otherwise what s the point. Then there was the line . The line started in the parking lot . We arrived at 11a and waited 30 mins in the sun from the parking lot. How come there s no shade? No fans? Then there s a mental detector I go through and the guys say I then have to get in another line. I ask him what exactly for and he had no answer I later found out it was because of a bottle of sunscreen in my bag . Like why not just say that instead of transferring to a different line. Sooooo we finally make it inside! Yay! We find a table. I will say that they ve added sooooo many tables which is great. We go over to get in the lazy river and then it s shared that EVERYONE must wear life jackets- yes! Even adults! They also share that even though they DO NOT have enough life jackets you have to hustle your own from people that are leaving before you get in the water. I feel that this demand would be fine IF they had the supply needed but how dare you demand when you can t provide adequate supply? Despite all of the hurdles and challenges to what was supposed to be a relaxing day at the water park, my 9 year old son had a ball. He s not a risky kid so slides aren t usually his thing but they had slides of different ranges that made him comfortable. The park was pretty clean and like I said earlier, there was ample seating.

Have been going here for years they havent had the rapid open this season. The last trip there is now a life jacket rule for the lazy river. There are not enough of larger sizes or small kids grab them I do not know how many adults were in infant or x-small. More of a hazard. .. Lines for water slides are long wait. River over crowded.

I bought my kids the season pass for their birthdays this year. The park is fun when the rides are all operating but it s hit or miss frequently which is very disappointing. On weekdays they intentionally shut down rides or have them at lower capacity causing lines to back up, very aggravating. The new policy of lifejackets in the lazy river is just insane. You can t get comfortable in your tube wearing one. Mixed bag for sure. The rides are fun though when they re working

Despite the negative reviews my family (4 adults) went and had a fantastic day. We got there before opening (paid $20 to park in the closer lot), rented a locker for the day and proceeded to ride almost every single slide there was, and floated in the big river along with the rapids part quite a few times around. As far as I could tell the only tubes not open were Massiv Monster Tubes. Oh well. Still had a lovely day. Yes, we wore the life jackets in the Big River.

We decided to give this park a try when our family came to town to visit. I was very disappointed in our experience. I wish we wouldve saved our time and money and just went to Hurricane Harbor. I was really expecting more attractions than were operational that day. The kids had fun but they said in about 2 hours that theyd rode all of the rides. One of our family members decided to rent a cabana for our day there. We had a Riverbend cabana that was close to $400 for the date of our visit. When we arrived, the pillows and cushions on the couches were dirty and soaked with water. The metal chairs and table along with the fridge was covered with dirt and/or bird droppings. We tried our best to clean up what we could using Wet Wipes that my mother-in-law happened to have her purse. We expected to see a higher level of care and cleanliness in a RESERVED seating area. My husband couldnt take it anymore and talked to our cabana attendant who just brushed it off like it was not a big deal. We spoke with another employee who contacted someone for us. Ivan came over to assist us and seemed to be disgusted with the level of filth in the cabana as well. He was very empathetic and assisted us by relocating us to another cleaner cabana. We were moved to a beach cabana that was cleaner, but it didnt accommodate our large party. We realized that this cabana also didnt include the fridge and free water that we had in the original cabana. We went back to another employee and they confirmed that wed been downgraded to a cheaper cabana. After hearing that, she immediately went into action and got someone to approve us moving back to a cabana that would accommodate all of us and would be of similar price point. We were satisfied with that but that experience took away unnecessary time from us being able to enjoy the Waterpark. We really appreciate the employees who took time to listen and assist us. In my opinion, I wouldnt advise anyone to rent a cabana unless you arrive and all of the free covered areas are taken. Its a waste of money plus it didnt live up to the expected cabana experience that weve previously had at other local waterparks. Needless to say, I dont think Ill ever be back to this Waterpark again.

For the last 4 years I have purchased my family season passes, NEVER AGAIN!!! We went yesterday and brought my mother with as well. After she paid her admission we went in and were told that everyone has to wear a life jacket in the lazy river. This is a new policy within the last two weeks and was not advertised before my mother paid $70 for her day pass. They refused to give her a refund (this is very illegal as they had no signage upon payment). They didnt have ANY of the pools open. The river had green sludge, alge and mold growing on all the walls. The bathrooms are disgusting. 25% of the slides were shut down (and have been all summer). The rapids part of the river was closed (and has been most of the time this year). 25% of the restaurants were closed as well. So with over half the park being closed and the new mandatory life jacket rule (they will call the police on you if you refuse/we watched it happen) it is no longer fun or worth your money. Go to the ocean or the community pool for the same level of fun and pay $0 or $4 for the pool. Ill save my $500 per year!

I asked a lifeguard does it happen often and they told me they didn t even want to jump into the water because they got scared they would get caught up in the straps. Whoever s in charge up there better do some fixin.

1st: after scanning our tickets and having us enter, we were told they decided to close two hours early. I immediately asked if we could change our tickets to a different day and was told no. They opened late and closed early but charged full price. They also said The Falls was closed for weather-it had been closed for several days. They forced everyone into dirty life vests because of a drowning in a different park. If an adult, and tall enough to have the water at waist height, life vests should be optional. Went to the other side of the park, four more slides closed. Had we bought the flash pass, nearly half of those rides were closed. Staff said weather, Covid, and being short staffed were reasons for the closures. Some rides barely had enough water for tubes to move causing many people to get stuck. Also some rides were cut short not ending in the river. It was a waste of money and many people were frustrated. This used to be my favorite park in Texas. It continues to lose appeal. This was our third visit this season because we have a season pass. They have lost our familys business by their lack of communication and limited availability.

As a 4 year season pass member, we will not be back and will not renew until this new life jacket policy changes. Multiple rides are closed each day and the torrent river waves are smaller than past years. Food service had been awful this year no supervision or management to be found when customers had complaints. Sadly this new requirement to force everyone to wear life jackets in 3 feet of water was the last straw that will force my family to never return.

Been here many times including this summer. But now they require you to wear life jackets in the lazy river. The life jackets are very uncomfortable and sometimes you just want to submerge to completely wet your head and now you can t. You gotta keep your head above water. We are talking about 3 feet of water folks. I don t care if it s got waves, there s no reason to require 100% compliance on everyone who enters the lazy river to wear a life jacket. Large groups protested and refused to wear these very uncomfortable life jackets they provide so Stacey the site manger shut it down for everyone. Additionally, there were multiple attractions that were not available to supposed workforce mismanagements. The staff also give their distaste for this new life jacket policy, however they have no choice but to enforce a stupid rule they receive so much ridicule over This is a sad day for Schlitterbahn. Never coming back here again to be treated like a child. Schlitterbahn - Taking the fun outta water parks.

The recent changes to the park rules require every person to wear a life jacket despite only being 3 feet of water. It feels patronizing and makes it more difficult to navigate the river as the jacket will pull you with the current. If it werent for the flow rider I would cancel my session pass and just go to hurricane harbor instead. If they ever remove it or change the rules for that Im never coming back here if I can avoid it.

Almost every employee is a teenager. The free parking is now a mile away or pay 20 dollars for vip. Everything cost about double on weekends. A cabana was 350 dollars and was overrun by mosquitos and not cleaned. The waitress as sweet as she was, was unaware of how to do here job or answer any questions. Used to be my favorite place now its just an overpriced aging money grab.

Couple of things, Number one problem - they now make you wear life jackets in the LAZY RIVER. Like what!? 3 of water. PLUS there wasn t enough life jackets so we had to wait for others to get out so we could go in. Then put on a lift jacket someone else JUST had on Number two problem - booked a birthday party there, 1/3 of the parked was CLOSED. No rain checks or refunds for a $550 party package, can t even get the full experience. Third problem - if you even so much as breathe too hard someone is blowing a whistle at you. What s the point of going to a place like this if you can t have fun? All the employees look like they hate their job, two of them were hiding in the men s restroom complaining about it. Idk who is managing this place but they need to attend their own park to realize how much of a downer it really is. STEP IT UP.

Also had a few rides closed. For the price it cost us to get in here was WAY overpriced for what you got. Some of the young kids that work there need to have better attitudes as well. It was something to do since it has rained the whole time we been here, but to expensive for what was open and what it was. Should of gave discount for half of the stuff being closed.

We bought season passes this year and have been able to go once a week this summer. In our experience, many of the rides are closed during the week. Much of the food is not available during the week. I have yet to ever get a brisket sandwich, though its offered at the park and a part of the meal plan we purchased for our season passes. It feels like every week they are hiring new people and retaining them, so I have to re explain what kinda of soda season pass I have. Gets exhausting to have to prove what I paid for once a week. They should do something about their system to make it easier if every new hire cant understand it. None of the young adults or teens running the rides are supervising to make sure guest are seated correctly for rides. Thats probably the biggest concern about the park. The season fast pass was worth it though. No matter what day of the week, Id recommend a fast pass.

I strongly ask that you buy the tickets online, when you get to the window they cost 86 for people and 74 for children, online instead you save 20 usd on each ticket, for me a wasted time, however you can enter from your smartphone and do the buy at the moment but you lose some time, I advise bringing your own food because the prices are not fair for the clients consumption but there are options, for example a protector so that the phone does not get wet 33 usd, too expensive, but If you dont want to lose your phone, youll have to buy it. The lines for the best attractions are long. I was in line for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, but at the end they made a shift change and I left. I couldnt enjoy the attraction. It was frustrating. For me, There is a lot for children to do, it looked safe with lifeguard attention everywhere and I could see some security. There is enough paid and free parking too. In summary I had a good day but I was left wanting

First time being to Schlitterbahn in over a decade. All in all we had a fun time. We arrive right at 11am when they opened and stayed untill close. I do wish they either opened earlier or closed a little later. They do offer free parking which isnt too far from the park but still a walk. Even though we were there all day, it didnt seem like we got the chance to ride many rides due to lines being ridiculously long. The fast pass is the price of a entry ticket which is pretty insane, but honestly unless you want to spend 80% of your time in line id just get it. We ended up spending most of the time in the lazy river to make the most of our time. The smallest locker is 20 dollars to use all day. Food is movie theater priced, however you are able to bring in coolers with food and drinks. We left ours at a table and it was still there when we came back. The lazy river/wave pool was my favorite part of all things I was able to ride today

I had checked the weather and a live broadcast of the weather and it showed sunny as well as the time which said 7 i get there about 4:20 and ask for two tickes and im told its about 170$ i pay and then informed nicely so you know the park will be closing today at six i said what the website says 7 - and mention how things like that should be mentioned to people like me who travel on the site and had plans to go back home the following day. At this point im already there and like so much ive already experienced here i think maybe things will move fast (mind you ive/weve never been to a waterpark before) we go stand in like and we stand there for over 30 minutes with whoever conducting the ride who looks like she doesnt want to go be there and on top of that the other staff on the opposite side of the ride was running circles around here x3 getting people down the slide and people were becoming more and more upset about it when we got down it was about 5/5:30 and i said this isnt going to work we just came from oklahoma to ride 1 ride for total of 200$ for my sons birthday - it just didnt seem fair i then went onto ask for a credit for a better experience to come the following day and staff seemed like they straight up didnt care saying well no you could have road other rides then came back or u could have bought some sort of pass im guessing in which i had no idea what they were talking about then i realized they must have been talking about the blue band i seen others have on whichhhh i would have totally bought and was never offered had i been given that option because that totally would have made sense - ive never been and just had no clue nor my son we didnt want a refund we are supposed to leave today we are only trying to experience so much of what we anticipated we would and missed out on was all and just wanted a credit to experience a 200$ for 30 min thrill and got told no

Very fun. We went there twice and did almost all the rides! The first time we went, it wasnt too crowded, and the 2nd time, it was extremely crowded. If you want to come here you should do it on Wednesday, as thats their least crowded day of the week. The staff are very friendly and respectful, and the rides are well maintained. The food here is extremely overpriced, though, so i recommend getting food at a nearby restraunt and go back to the park afterward. We got the season pass, and if you live in galveston or just visiting for a week, it is a must buy. It is a lot more worth the price than a ticket, which can be from 45 dollars, all the way up to 80 (if you buy it at the gate it can be even more expensive, so buy it online), while a season pass you can go as many times as you want. The rides are decent. The best one, by far, is massiv, but that one has a MASSIV line most of the time. The time to get in the park is pretty quick. The line moves fast most of the time. Overall the park is very fun for the entire family to enjoy!
