What a great experience for us all. Ive never been on the duck adventures in my own hometown, so when I saw it while in Galveston, I had to try it out. We had a great tour guide, and knowing they are certified coast gaurd was a plus. Our tour guide was funny and had a lot to share with us about Galveston and some of the hots spots downtown. It was a great way for us to enjoy Galveston during our weekend stay with the grandchildren. I definitely recommend doing this with the kiddos.

Love the boat tour. Driver super friendly and very knowledgeable of the surrounding area. The best part was going into the water, going from a bus into a boat. Strongly recommend. Just get there before the times the tour starts to get a spot and you have to pay in person.

We had such a great time on the duck tour. It can sound like a hokey tourist experience but it served the purpose that I needed it to. It allowed us to have a general tour of the island so that we knew specifically what wed like to go back to after the tour. It went along the beach through historical areas, out onto the water and back on land again. And then it ran to historic downtown before returning back to the starting point at the beach at pleasure Pier. You purchase tickets at the duck. There is literally a guy sitting in a chair next to the duck. Catherine was our driver and she was fantastic. Very entertaining and a good driver

This is a MUST! Such a neat experience and exciting way to enjoy the island as a tourist! Captain Caroline was so knowledgable and engaging for the entire trip. One tiny suggestion- hand out duck whistles for passengers to quack at people around town! A great way to advertise long after the tour is finished, too!

Im just telling you dont waste your money taking this tour like I did. Its terrible, you can do the same trip by car without wasting $30 dollars. I thought the best way to hear you would be to enter the water but it wasnt like that. This is a real joke. my advice DO NOT TAKE THIS TOUR

We greatly enjoyed our tour. It took just about an hour, and the captain was very knowledgeable and funny. Of course my kid s favorite part was entering the water. We couldn t take our stroller with us, so the staff on the ground was kind enough to watch it for us while we took our tour. It s first come first serve, but you can arrive early to purchase your tickets, and walk around nearby pleasure pier until it s time for your tour.

We came here for a tour and it was so easy to find although it was expensive it was so worth it, we went around the city, the water and even went to historic areas. The Captain was very nice and shared many facts and was very funny. The day we went it could rain and the ladies where making clear that if it rains we can have a refund but see if it rains. We ended up going on the tour and was so much fun.

I was disappointed. I was hoping to hear some interesting facts or stories about the city, instead it simply pointed out the sites and plugged area businesses. The driver shared his info, but didn t interact with the passengers or provide any comic entertainment like other Duck tours I ve been on in Wisconsin Dells and Boston. This tour was not worth the money we paid and I do not recommend.

Great tour! Its on a first come, first serve bases. Tickets are $30 per adult. They offer discounts to current or past military. You can pay either cash or card. I recommend sitting on the left since most of the attractions are on the left. Youre on the water for about 15-20 minutes. The seats arent that comfortable, but it is a great tour.

Overpriced for sure, the tour itself was ok. I can definitely see others really enjoying it, especially for a first visit to Galveston, but we were a little underwhelmed. The majority of the ride is just on the street and you only go in the water for about 10 minutes. Maybe it s because we ve done the duck tours up in Wisconsin Dells, which for me is much more fun. It would ve been fine if the prices were lower but where they re at now I d say to not waste your money honestly.

First of all, I don t know how to put 0 stars. Because I wasted one beautiful hour of life. We were told that we would be headed to the Gulf of Mexico. Instead, they took us to a small lake for less than 10 minutes. I highly recommend never going to this tour. Everyone was bored and mad, plus the seats were iron made seats with a very thin cushion. The whole machine smells diesel because it s an old rusty truck.

We went on the Galveston duck tour because we were visiting Galveston for the first time and wanted to know what was interesting about the town. The tour lasted an hour and successfully informed us of multiple exciting attractions. We weren t expecting to learn the history of the amphibious duck vehicles, but that happened too. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, funny, and able to read the crowd. When the duck entered the bayou, fish were jumping everywhere. The tour cost $30 per person, which is a bit pricey for just one hour, but it was worth it because it helped us make the most of the rest of the trip.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and his bad jokes were actually perfect in keeping the tour both enriching and fun. I was really disappointed, however, in his glaring omissions of at least two major historical and commemorative sites on our route that recognize June 19, 1865, or Juneteenth, the date on which slaves (and free persons) in Texas finally received news that slavery had ended...over 2 years after the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is such an important part of the journey to independence in the United States and an important part of Texan and Galveston history. A simple mention would have gone a long way for the packed tour. The guide actually mentioned one site, Ashton Villas, but only as an historic mansion, not as the site of a commemorative museum and statue of the general who read the final order. It left a sour feeling about an otherwise great tour and screamed missed opportunities for enlightenment. I made my way back to the sites later in the day.

Expect to pay $30 for a one-hour tour around Galveston, both on land and water. The tour guide knew some of the highlights of the area, but honestly I would have liked more details. For example, instead of driving by an old cemetery and saying Theres a really old cemetery why not tell us how its divided into sections, when it was founded, and maybe one or two interesting people who are buried there. Basic info like when Galveston was founded, why, and by whom, would have also added to the experience. Overall, a worthwhile tour but it could have been so much more!

Oh, Duck Tours, I must say, this years experience left me quacking in disappointment. Last time, I gave you a soaring 5-star rating, but this time around, I can only muster a measly 3 stars. What happened, you ask? Well, let me spill the beans. First and foremost, lets talk about Captain Caroline. Oh boy, where do I even begin? She seemed to have taken a crash course in being unfunny because her sense of humor was simply atrocious. I mean, she made a desert seem like an oasis of laughter. It was painfully unfunny, like watching a stand-up comedian bomb on stage. I didnt crack a smile, let alone a giggle. Now, lets talk about the tour itself. It felt like a history lesson gone wrong. Sure, its great to learn about the past, but when its presented in a way that makes me forget everything I heard, then we have a problem. All those dates and facts were like trying to memorize the phone book, utterly forgettable. Its as if they were intentionally chosen to induce temporary amnesia. Not cool, Duck Tours, not cool. And lets not forget the bayou part of the tour. Last year, it was a leisurely cruise through a picturesque wonderland. But this time, it felt like a blink-and-youll-miss-it moment. The time spent in the bayou was shorter than a cats attention span. I barely had time to admire the beauty before we were whisked away to the next mundane stop. Its like someone pressed the fast-forward button on the remote control of life. Captain Caroline, please take note. Youre supposed to be a tour guide, not a monotone lecturer. I expected excitement, adventure, and a touch of pizzazz. Instead, I got a monotone drone, resembling a high school teacher on a particularly boring Monday morning. Yawn! Duck Tours, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you seriously need to up your game. Last year was a delightful voyage, but this year left me feeling more deflated than a popped balloon. I hope you take this feedback to heart and come back stronger, funnier, and more memorable. The quackers of the world are counting on you!

So fun to get the inside scoop from someone who lives on the island and knows it so well. I do wish we had been able to hear our guide better, though - especially on the water. Still glad we went - so worth it! Tips: go in the morning to buy your ticket to minimize your wait time as they dont do online sales or reservations and things fill up fast. You have to show up pretty early to get a ticket and sit with people you know. Also, if you like good photos...There were four in our group and I wish we would have split up two on each side of the duck so we could get good pictures from both sides.

The lady runs our card and then she says you will have to wait until we have 6 adults. Ummm ok when do you think that will be? who knows our peak times are in the afternoon. It would have been nice if she said we would have to wait 4-5 hours before she ran our card. We did get a refund but it was just a waist of time and very aggravating. If you go make sure there are people around ready to get on and go otherwise you will be waiting for who knows how long.

We had a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable, funny and energetic. A really good way to learn a little about Galveston. The ride in the water was not fast by any means but an eye opening experience of a blast from the past with the aqua duck. A definite MUST when in Galveston.

Definitely worth going. We are a family of 5 including 2 teens and a 3 year old. Well all enjoyed it. They do offer discount for military, veterans and first responders (this includes nurses) I would recommend bringing cash to leave a tip for the tour guide. The tour was enjoyable. Tour guide was funny. Gave us ideas or places to go around town.

A fun scoot about town but $30 was a little steep, especially as the seats are first come first serve. A group of 3 ladies decided to take three window seats for themselves so my wife and I had to both sit on the aisle. We were sitting 15 minutes before departure. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable though and Galveston is a very pretty town.

First off purchase your tickets in advance but it s Worth the wait!! Captain Dave, he is hilarious. The jokes he provided were funny and the stories of the island were very informative. Transitioning in the Duck boat from land to water was pretty cool. With Captain Dave it was never a dull moment. I highly recommend if you want to learn more about the island.

We were a group of 8 today. The driver was nice however, he took our childrens souvenirs away from. Wouldn t let them have them on the vehicle. He gave them to the ladies on the street you purchase the tickets from and asked them to hold them for us until we got back. They were small stuffed toys btw. Anyway! When we got back, the ladies gave our childrens things away. We tried talking to them about it. They didn t want to deal with us. Didn t offer to pay us for them or get the kids another of what they gave away to other children that WE paid for! They were rude. The driver was also mad about it but also did nothing to resolve it. Won t go again.

Our host was amazing. If we had not taken this tour we would not have learned l the cool things about Gavelston. I believe his name was Ken (retired Army Vet). Be sure to sit close to the front so you can hear as the engine is loud. But our host made sure everyone could hear him on the whole trip. He kept checking in. The jokes he provided were funny and the stories of the island were very informative. Highly recommend if you want to learn more about the island..

It s a really fun tour, however, charging $10 for ages 2 and under is ridiculous. My one year old didn t take up a seat, he was on my lap and won t even remember this. Other than that, I would recommend.
