It appeared that they were pre-preparing food for a busy night, but a pretty hard rainstorm came in. So they had plenty of staff with only four tables of people. I ordered the sirloin tips that came on a bed of cilantro rice, and I asked for it without any cilantro rice, just the protein. When it came out, it was a parent that they pulled it off of a plate that was already made because there were pieces of cilantro on a lot of my food. The meat was chewy.

Have to say we have a wonderful time tonight at Waterman s. We were a party of 5 and the service was excellent. We ordered grilled shrimp, fish n chips, shrimp beso, shrimp n grits and blackened shrimp. Food was really tasty. There was live music but we chose to dine upstairs.

Great location. Great view of the bay. Food was better than most restaurants around that area, but nothing like we can find in Houston. Parking is across the restaurant and plenty of it. Just be ready to cross a nasty large puddle of dirty water right before you enter the restaurant. They placed some black plastic squares that you can step on to avoid getting wet shoes and socks ...but very low class fix that charge $25 a plate on average. We were a party of 9 and overall was OK. Nothing extra ordinary, except for the view.

My family and I have been in Galveston for four days now and have hit up all the popular restaurants and none of them came close to Waterman s! We wish we had found them sooner. Hands down the most fresh seafood and best service. Victor took care of us and he was excellent. He had extensive knowledge on the menu and food sourcing and just made us feel SO at home!! Off the beaten path and we loved it.

First of all: I definitely recommend the waterfront seating! Yes, it was hot outside, but there were two huge fans to keep us comfortable. The food was FANTASTIC! We ordered the crab cake and mozzarella sticks and both were delicious. The crab cake came with such delicious pesto that I dipped the mozzarella sticks in it. I had the lakeside salad with chicken, and it was refreshing.

Went in on Wednesday August 14, 2024 at approximately 1215pm. Walked in no one around. Spoke loudly and asked if anyone here? No answer. We then left. Advertised as open at 1100am. On Thursday August 15, 2024 we called at approximately 335pm. Asked the gentleman answering if reservations are needed? He told me he would have to check. Put on hold for approximately 3 minutes. Someone picked up and then hung up. Sad part is we are having our families visiting with us. We know who is not getting our business.

I take advantage of there awesome catch and cook special. I bring in my redfish I caught and the chef cooks it up. It cost me what hamburgers normally cost at a hamburger joint but taste better than Ive ever had. Get it blackened, its the best!

Celebrated 19yr anniversary here. Atmosphere was romantic and beautiful bay views. The food was outstanding! Delicious steaks/shrimp and Mac & cheese was off the chart. Make sure you check the time it opened at 4pm the day we went.

I can t say enough good things about Waterman s restaurant! We went not realizing we should have made a reservation and it was busy! But instead of being turned away 3 different employees scrambled to find us a table. Our waiter(sorry if I misspell this) Camilo, was amazing and he even took care of a table of ten at the same time! The food was amazing, the service was amazing and the restaurant is beautiful too. I wish I lived here so I could eat here all the time!

Exceptional food and the best service!! This was not our first time at Waterman s, but everything was perfect! We had a large table of women and we definitely thought we were all special. We had our anniversary lunch here. The staff was wonderful in making us feel like it was a special day! Ahi and avocado was really good. So we re the espresso martinis. Juliana is a very happy and attentive wait staff member! Try the lobster bisque! Huge pieces of lobster in it! Parking: Across the street is a big lot and there is boardwalk type walkway they have leading to the restaurant. A nice surprise was the platforms they added in the parking lot so the major rain puddles were no trouble walking through. Indoor, outdoor, upstairs nice spot!

We have eaten at Waterman s probably 15 times. Told other people to eat there. Brought other people to eat there. Food has always been excellent. Yesterday myself husband & grandson went to eat there. The waiter had a very accent big guy. I ordered a bake potato stomach was upset. He told me that they don t have bake potatoes. I look at the menus before we came. I said I saw it on the menu he informed me they only serve bake potatoes on Thursday through Sunday. My husband and grandson had walked to the end of the peer. I ordered my husband a cheese burger. I said meat cheese and mustard only. He didn t understand. I said it again and he said so no lettuce tomato pickle & onion I said no vegetables. Then he ask if he wanted vegetables as a side. I said no fries. I got kids pasta and butter with a side of asparagus. I asked if the pasta was good he said it s bland. We were sitting outside in the sun. Moved to a table outside in the shade before food came. Our water glasses were low in our glasses. I ask for more water he look at me confused brought out water filled my glass my husbands. Then ask if my grandson wanted water in empty coke glass. I said no. My grandson had a lot left on his plate I also had a lot left. I asked for 2 large containers to take our food. He brought out 1 large for my grandson. 2 small containers for mine. I said could I also have a large container. He seem frustrated. My husband said check please and also cheesecake to go. He sent another waiter back with large container and cheesecake. He sent another waiter out. The new waiter said did you want this large container I said yes again. I will never use the first waiter again. I even ask my husband to communicate with him after repeating myself. I would just nod my head and thank you & please. I feel maybe he needs to find a job maybe not with food & customer service. My husband is a employee at Lakeside Country Club. The owners of Waterman s are members where he works. Not sure if they are still members there or still own Waterman s They are a very nice couple. Our family party of 9 went to Waterman s on a recent Saturday night. The restaurant was very busy. We had made a reservation and had asked for an outside table but the sun was shining directly on our assigned table making it very uncomfortable. We asked if there might be another available table, knowing that might be an impossibility on a Saturday night. The lovely manager was so gracious and found us a quiet table in the loft that was perfect for our large party including a toddler. Alejandra, our server, was very efficient and pleasant. When we turned off the road to go to this restaurant, I have to admit I was a little concerned. Kind of in the middle of nowhere off the island South Galveston. Little bit out-of-the-way. They had some flooding during one of them more recent hurricane, so the downstairs was closed. But once we walked upstairs, it was like we were in a five star restaurant in the middle of nowhere. The chairs and tables were immaculate. The sunset view was spectacular. It was Amazing! Truly, next time I m in Galveston if someone asked me where I wanna go this is where I m gonna wanna go. I don t care about the drive south of the island. It was worth it. The staff was amazing. The manager Kamin introduced herself personally and made sure we had everything we needed and we did. We just finished a lovely Father s Day lunch at Waterman s. We stumbled upon the restaurant just after an open table search in the area and we are so glad we did! Everything was delicious! The garlic bread was ao yummy and the tuna appetizer scrumptious. My 10 year old got the market fish which was red snapper and that too was amazing and not exorbitantly priced. The Mac n cheese that came with it also amazingly delicious. The modern tables and chairs pared nicely with the wood inside and the old glass panels. Views were outstanding and service on point. On top of all that, there was live music downstairs in the bar! Cornhole and boats coming and good to keep the kids busy as well. Do yourself and check this place out.

The restaurant is located in a beautiful spot with good sea view tables. The staff were so friendly, we went for dinner and they suggested we come a little early next time to view the sunset while dining. We will keep that in mind. Food is very delicious, fresh sea food. The event was a memorial and the service was great. Our waiters were Benjamin and Jonathan and I was really impressed with their demeanor, eagerness to serve us and overall professionalism. On vacation and was hoping to have a nice dining experience at a supposed nice place. First, after being seated the waitress -all be it accidentally - dropped an entire ice water on our 3 year old. Of course she tried to make up to our screaming toddler with ice cream. The entire evening went downhill from there. My biggest complaint was not that accidents happen but how employees and companies handle it after. I would have expected a manger to come over apologize and express a way they feel they can still create a great customer experience - nope - or perhaps even a, I don t know how much of a discount or what I can do - but I will see and make sure we do what we can to ensure you still enjoy your evening . The professionalism was missing. I wouldn t recommend this establishment. In reply to Owner - after the initial incident our waitress disappeared for a lengthy time leaving us without a high chair. I had to go in and ask some one for a high chair. My wife was comped a drink because the bar messed up a basic dirty martini and the second was basically a straight shot of vodka with no olive juice. There was another waitress who eventually came up but we had no idea she was a manager and I was not told at that point anything was comped as an apology. With an absent waitress, traumatized toddler, and the bars inability to make a basic drink - we opted to not eat but allowed our kids to order. On the ticket you charged the drinks and the kids meal which I would have thought the toddler meal would have been comped. You did comp an appetizer but that wasn t communicated. So perhaps try implementing more philosophies from Be Our Guest book which is an excellent approach to magical customer service. The manager should have checked in a few times and communicated what was being done and offered more if needed. Not to mention the table next to us seemed to be having issues too. The time for resolution was in the moment.

Been here enough times that I feel a review is fair. Its nice to have another option further down the island but for what they are trying to do with the inside linen aesthetic vs the loud downstairs bar vs the outdoor patio inconsistent service, it just feels confused. Food - 2 years ago the menu seemed well thought out and food was actually ran to the table. Lately the menu is just uninspiring and hard to find anything to get excited about. The food needs to be ran to the table with timing in mind. When you walk by the open kitchen take note of how many plates are sitting under the warming lamps. Thats your food getting overcooked (steaks served well done that had to be sent back) and tough/chewy fried items that lost their fresh flavor. I get busy nights happen but with that many staff sitting around you need a kitchen manager to take charge and run food the way its been cooked. I actually feel bad for the chefs, their food isnt close to the way they cooked it. Disappointing. Especially for the prices come on. 3 dollar sides surcharges on raw onion strings that were inedible, rice pilaf that clearly came from a box, undercooked potatoes that had been sitting for hours just left the whole meal asking if we come back in 2 years or ever again to give it another chance. Service - Friendly staff that seem spread too thin. Theres another feeling of a lack of kitchen management here with a lack of communication between managers and very inconsistent response or check times. Despite being disappointed we still tipped very well to the service trying their best. Atmosphere - Do yourself a favor and sit down outside a bit before sunset. Cant deny the main appeal here is the view and the interior design. Great job. Id come here for a cheap beer and a burger that hopefully comes out fresh and maybe if the band isnt so loud downstairs you can try to carry a conversation. We have high hopes for this place especially after our first few experiences over the last couple years. Hopefully they can get things back on track.

Neither of us had been to this part of the island and travelled over an hour. My issue is the bar. Bar manager took orders and passed to one of the bartenders. The bartender then asked me again my order. Ok this is good, unsure and verify. She rang out some transactions and then asked me again what I wanted. Alright I m now watching her like a hawk. This place is big! A great spot for live music, water views and a comfortable atmosphere. We sat downstairs in the main dining area. They were setting up for a wedding, so I couldnt see the top floor. At the entrance, they have an outdoor side bar area which I would assume is for overflow on busy days. I was surprised how much space they have at the place! The service was a little slow, especially for not being busy. It seems like it was more in coordination with the drink orders. It took way too long to get a wine, a beer, and a Bloody Mary to our table. I would have ordered a third drink, but it was seriously getting on my nerves that it took so long. I gave her 2 tries, but it seems there was an issue of some sort. She looked to be very young, so maybe it was a generational thing. The food was great. I had the coconut shrimp, one friend had the fish and chips and the other friend had the regular shrimp. We all enjoyed our meals. Everything was delivered promptly to our table. Big portions, hot and fresh. Their fries are extremely good! Best fries Ive had in a long time! The water view is fantastic! The downstairs is completely shaded, so you dont get too hot. I was very happy with the ambiance. The live music was awesome. Dont forget to tip your entertainment! Ryan Guidry was on point with a great mix of songs with an excellent voice. Thoroughly enjoyed his music. They have a tiny t-shirt shop at the main entrance, a small marina, rocking chairs in the shade near the dock, and multiple dining spaces. People launch their boats here, and if you catch fish you want cooked, they will prepare it for you for a cost (dont recall the price; I just remember seeing it noted on the menu.) For all 3 of us, with 5 drinks total, our bill was $109.51. I thought that was pretty good for the view, live music, and good food. Side note: they are dog friendly. I saw one person with their pooch. Love dog friendly places. They are family/friends too!

This review is not about the food or service, those were awesome and Lisa our server was the best. This review is about the restaurant renting out the main floor to a wedding which we knew was happening when I made our reservations and we were going to be on the third floor which was fine. The problem was the DJ and live music were so loud it was almost impossible to stay there. This is a nice dining establishment and not cheap and we are locals that had friends in from out of town and wanted to take them to a nice dinner and it was like being in a loud bar and when I say loud I can t even tell you enough how loud it was. We complained and the staff couldn t do anything about it. The manager was apologetic and took are of some of the bill which wasn t our goal at all but was a nice gesture. I recommend next time closing the entire restaurant to the party and it won t be a problem.

Me and my family drove town from Tomball to Galveston to celebrate my bday. My friend recommended Watermans because of its great setup looking over the water/bay. I loved the look the placed and vibes. Reminds me of a place down in the Keys. Our service was horrible. I will not go into super details, but I pretty mad with our service. I worked for years as server so I give servers a lot of slack, because I know the stress of what they deal with. But, I had to say something to the manager who was walking around named Savannah. This is where I have to say I was truly impressed with Watermans. I explained why I was upset and how we drove 1.5hrs down here to then deal with the service issues that myself and my family were not happy about. I have to say I might have not dealt with a better management staff before including the years of me working as a server in college. Savanah and Jeff who runs Watermans really impressed me. They listened to everything and really empathized with the situation I was bringing up. They went beyond the call to make things right and I have to say I was grateful. This was the first bday for a Grandchild since my Grandfather passed last month. So I decided to take my family down to Galveston because of all the positive memories. I will have to say, how the management team handled everything I will definitely be going back. I cannot say enough nice things about Savannah and Jeff in how they handled things. They showed empathy and really listened to why we were upset then made it all right.

So the owner responded to my 3 star review asking what they could do better. So first, the atmosphere is very nice. However I understand your downstairs bar is casual that doesnt mean the staff should be. Someone behind a limited bar should know what liquor you have and not have to be directed to the bottle. Also we sat at the bar and there was only one other couple at the time yet the bar was not clean! We had to hint to your staff by pushing the crumbs and leftover whatever towards her with the menu! And if youre going to charge city prices, the food should be excellent, it was not. We dont mind eating with plastic silverware at a fast food restaurant but in what you are marketing as a casual upscale establishment its just ridiculous. You have a great location and potential for so much more.

Fantastic place. First the food...outstanding. We had fish and chips and have never had better. Another reviewer said it was as close to the quality you get in England and I 100% agree. Also had gumbo and lobster bisque and both were perfectly flavored. The portions of everything are large and another table ordered the salads which looked amazing...will get that next time. The cucumber spritzer martini was very good. Our waiter Camilo could not have been nicer, came by timely almost like he was reading our minds when we might need something like more water or condiments. We will ask for him again. The atmosphere and view of the bay are very nice. When we were leaving they were firing up live music in the downstairs bar and we were told they have it every weekend.
