Wow. We were absolutely blown away by the service and staff. They were so amazing, we recommend anyone to go! My husband has an allergy thats a bit hard to accommodate for and wow! They went above and beyond. The chef came out and spoke with us, and my husband was able to get a customized meal. We are so appreciative and grateful for the waiter and the chef. Amazing place, amazing food and even better people! Please try them out if youre nearby!

We were just here last night. I ordered the crab cakes and wish I hadn t. I didn t see or taste any crabmeat in either crab cake. They were just celery, yellow and red peppers and filling. I was so disappointed as I love crab cakes and figured a restaurant by the water would have good ones. Such a waste of my money. At least my daughter enjoyed her seared tuna but our other guest and I were not so lucky with our crab cakes. Our seasonal vegetables also were undercooked and I had to cut them in small pieces to be able to eat them. Please consider changing your recipe or add more crabmeat if there was any.. Dessert was delicious - chocolate peanut butter cake with ice cream.

Worst trip to a expensive restaurant that ive had in 10 years. When we arrived at Coopers there was ample parking around 5:30pm. Soon after we were seated this drunk guy from the bar completely ruined the atmosphere for all guests, i spoke to some who were outside. Be advised that children were here with their families as well. This guy was yelling at his highest volume and was clearly intoxicated and the bartender continued to serve him drinks. The food was ok at best. My steak was really good but my wife s shrimp scampi was bad. Undercooked pasta and so-so shrimp. Definitely not coming back here again for $110.01. I will be having a talk with the TABC about this issue.

Took 11 people out to eat for a nice seafood dinner and this restaurant was very expensive and was the worst service and quality of food. Waiter forgot to input my husbands meal and it finally came out after everyone was finished eating. 1/2 of the food was cold and quality was mediocre. The waiter was inconsistent and barely showed up - drinks were empty, cocktails that were ordered never showed up, he never checked in after food was served to see if anything else was needed. And the manager that showed up to speak with us about the issue took $17 off the total bill $350. Ridiculous! We will never be back and you should not go if you re wanting a nice dinner out with good service - go somewhere else.

Fantastic food, wonderfully attentive wait staff, immaculate dining room with linen table cloths/napkins and real silverware! Its hard to believe that you can find a really good restaurant with all of the above only a few hundred yards from the water, but you can find it all at Coopers Landing. My wife and I had just rolled off the beach and were in shorts and ts, so I was a little worried that we might not be dressed for such a nice restaurant, but Tiffany was a most gracious and accommodating hostess/waitserver who made us feel right at home. I highly recommend the shrimp tacos and coconut cream pie. And dont miss out on the cocktails! The Smoked Old Fashioned is FANTASTIC! My wife and I plan on making Coopers our go-to, after-beach lunch spot from now on during our weekly outings to the beach. Thank you!!!

Wonderful experience, the hostess that was there was great! Absolutely loved the tattoos she had and her smile. Our waiter, a super good guy told us all the recommendations that he had and then gave us some time to look it over. Once food was ordered it took about 20 minutes to get the food and that was both mine and my cousins food. Super fast. The portion sizes were crazy large to what we were expecting. For an appetizer, 2 meals and 2 drinks came out to less than 90 which I think is really good! Thank yall for the great service and very quiet and wonderful atmosphere.

From 4 years old to 51 years old, our entire party left happy and full. We had the mini crab cakes and bang bang shrimp as appetizers and they were delicious. I had the baked stuffed shrimp, and loved every bite. Seared Tuna, Chief Special, Bone in steak, kids cheeseburger and kids Mac and cheese were also all on the table and not a bite was left. We had deserts as well (chocolate cake, key lime pie and some ice cream) and not a complaint to be had. Smaller sitting area but ran smoothly. We went here on our final night of vacation and it was perfect! Parking: Smaller parking lot, but right size for the building/seating inside. Kid-friendliness: Kids meals were great! Even my kid that usually eats 2-3 bites and says he s full at his entire burger and just left a few fries. He says he would love to go back!

We really wanted to like this place given the proximity to Dellanera. The atmosphere was nice and staff was friendly but the food across thr board was flavorless. The brussel sprout appetizer was too undercooked, thr poke bowl literally tasted like nothing as did my seafood salad. We have been looking for a regular location to eat each time we are down thst is close to the RV park. Seahorse was god awful, but unfortunately this place is pricey and really very disappointing.

Overall the service from Megan was terrible. I guess with an automatic gratuity for 6 people you obviously don t care. We are a family of 6 and this is usually clear when we walk in. It was not. She received a 50 dollar tip for the worst service I have had in a decade. We will not be returning for obvious reasons. Especially when our bill was over $250 with out the gratuity. I worked in the service industry so I usually tip extremely well as I understand this is someone s livelihood.

Parking was a little tedious. Small parking lot, and the rains made the back parking muddy. But overall a great experience. A go to for us on our future visits. We arrived the first night at 8:35 and the website said they close at 9. They wouldnt serve us food saying the kitchen was closed. We came back the next night because this place had good reviews and honestly looked like a 5 star restaurant. I ordered fish and chips, the fish was very small, and the fries was disgusting!! The fries was black and the knots where the potatoes was bad, was fried into them. My wife had pork chops and they tasted old and bad. The Cole slaw was brown, but the sprite I drank was the only thing I liked. This is a 1 star restaurant with 5 star prices. Im only leaving a review because like the people reading this, I use them as well.

Once I found the deluxe burger at Cooper s I never had to look for a quality burger on the island again. Perfectly cooked, with an over easy egg and just the right bun. Don t skip the smoked Old Fashion either. I can t tell you about their other menu items I only always get the burger. At $16 it s a steal. GET THE BURGER You won t regret it. We went on a Tue night so it was not very busy. The hostess was not good at her job and not friendly. We did not want to sit on the patio due to the heat, which seemed to annoy her, so she sat us at the table right next to the patio door (every other table was open). The very loud service staff keep prying the door open instead of letting it soft close, so it was just like sitting out there. We asked the hostess for help with this matter and she replied they are doing their jobs. All this time no one approached our table, not even water. Finally a server brought us water but said it wasnt his table and left. At least 10 mins later another server came to take our order. We wanted to order drinks and our meal based on the wait time so far, but she said shed just take our drink order and be back. When our bottle of wine finally arrived, she couldnt open it (it was a screw top). She got help with that, poured the wine (spilled some on me), and took our order. We waited forever and when our salads arrived, less than 60 seconds later our meal was served. She just looked at us and said sorry. One of us had the red snapper which was small, overcooked, with no seasoning. And the other had the crab cakes which looked nice but were very plain with no sauce, just a tablespoon of tomato relish. These were expensive dishes and for what was presented they were well overpriced. We wont be returning.

Not worth coming here. There were 6 tables full and 4 waitresses but horrible service.. We saw our waitress once after we got our food, to give us our check.. then she left for about 10 minutes.. we had to hunt down the manager to go find her My medium rare burger with no onions came out well done with extra onions... Absolutely no flavor. Whataburger has better burgers and fries. The shrimp kisses were wrapped in extra fatty, unchewable bacon and the rice was bland.. maybe we just ordered the wrong food? The side salad was the best part of the whole meal.

Working in the tourism industry as I do I know how important it is to give good service. This place needs to have a lot of training for their service. Had to wait 30 minutes just to pay. it s going to take a lot for me to return to this place. Long story short, my wife ordered a steak that was just about raw and 85% fat. My wife didn t eat it at all. My daughter ordered shrimp and it was slimy and the main treat came when they brought the receipt. They charged us for their alcohol tax, their credit card fees and a separate tax that was unfamiliar. The steak that my wife did not eat was discounted about 25%. Ended up spending close to $200.00 for mediocre food and time. Save your money, go to the Galveston strip. Many more better options.

What a terrific experience! The food here was just amazing. Shrimp cocktail is a unique take on this classic appetizer. Delicious. They were out of stuffed shrimp , so I had to settle for the blackened redfish. Sure glad I did, it was very good with an extraordinary taste. My wife ordered the crab cake appetizer for dinner. They were fried and she preferred sautéed but they also tasted great. The team behind the bar eeee excellent and the service was second to none.

For starters our server Shannon was exceptional and we enjoyed his recommendations of the bang bang shrimp and the special no brainer. He took his time with us and everything came out absolutely perfect!

We come here when in Galveston. Today was the absolute worst!!! The fries looked like they sat out, then refried. Dripping with oil and almost burned, limp The pickle spear was old, mushy, looked like it had been eaten on . The mustard on the burger was not regular,it had seeds, this was not listed on menu,or told to us. The whole meal was disappointing. The manager did not see anything wrong with the food. Didnt even try to make it right. Unbelievable !!!! They have lost a good customer

The atmosphere was very nice but music was a little loud at bar/entrance. So we chose to sit on enclosed porch, it was to cold to sit outside. Our waitress, a young blonde, was extremely polite & efficient. Scallops wrapped in bacon were good except I had to throw all the bacon away due to being completely raw. That was disappointing considering the price they charge. Veggies were very good but mashed potatoes were luck warm. Hubby got peel eat shrimp for appetizer which was very good. His meal was Seafood Pasta which he said he enjoyed. We would go again with a few changes & maybe during lunch/happy hour to get the cost down. It was 110.00 for 2 people plus 25.00 tip!

We love Coopers Landing. We recently visited with a group of 16. Chris was who attended to us and he did a great job! They were extremely busy, we had reservations, and seeing that Chris was bussing and waiting on tables to keep up, he never left us sitting. He kept the drinks and food coming. The kitchen and bar did a fantastic job keeping up. Food and drinks were fantastic as usual!!! Well done and looking forward to our next visit.

DONT DO IT! Service is TERRIBLE! Food is frozen not fresh and regrettably below average. Drive a little further and don t get trapped here it s a joke. Did I mention the service was TERRIBLE? Couldn t get another beer or glass of wine. Couldn t get water refilled. Waitress intentionally ignored eye contact and didn t care if we had what we needed or not. And we re not picky. They weren t even busy she just obviously is horrendously undertrained or was having a very bad day.

I found this restaurant on Google maps, and thought we could give it a try. The waitress was willing to take a special order for my picky child, and that set the tone for the evening. I decided on the no brainer, grilled redfish covered in sauce, crawfish tails and a shellfish. My wife had the fish and chips (I helped). We ate on the balcony, with the doors pulled down, as it was cold and windy (January). The best part, aside from the awesome service was, when they found out it was my sons birthday, they brought out a mini fireplace, and smores! We roasted the marshmallows over the flame, and added mini Hershey bars between Graham crackers, right at the table! My son said it was the best birthday ever. We had a great time, the bill came back under a hundred, and we all left happy! This is a really nice restaurant, and Im sure well stop back by before we head home.

First time to eat at Coopers Landing. Food was fantastic. Our waiter, Shannon, was awesome. I had the scallops. They were cooked perfect. Wife had kabobs and Friends had the prime rib and fried pork chop. All perfectly done. Wasnt expecting much, but ended up being the best place on the island. Will definitely be back... regularly... Update: 12/31/2023 _ Still a fantastic place. They had a New years Special. NY Strip, grilled chicken breast, grilled shrimp, andouille sausage and loaded baked potato for 2 people, $60. I hope they make this a regular menue item. It was fantastic. Joyce was our waitress and Adam the host who seated us and took our first drink orders. They are both fantastic. This is a hidden gem in Galveston.

Food was good. The restaurant was busy and service was so-so. I would give this place 4 stars but decreasing my review by 1 star since they charge credit card fees and open food fees when youre already paying $60 per person. Also the restaurant was close to full and the waitress seemed to have a hard time staying on top of the orders. The drinks also took quite awhile to come out. Not planning on returning.

Wonderful first experience at Coopers Landing last night. Perfectly prepared drinks, wonderful entrees, inviting salads and excellent service. I would call this an upscale Steak and Seafood restaurant in a relaxed setting. Prices were attractive. The staff members were very friendly and engaging. Adam is the new manager. He makes a mean drink too. Tell him BigMike sent you. See pictures of the actual food delivered. Salads were large and could be split to make room for dessert! Pro Tip: The Old Fashioned was crafted with Buffalo Trace. It was beyond my expectations. First ever Cooper s Bourbon Flight (their new bourbon flight glasses had just come in and I guess I looked like a willing target.) I am easy. Anyway, I picked Angel s Envy, Basil Hayden, Longbranch and Woodford Reserve. Price was really good for a bourbon flight and I was able to select my poisons, but I m not telling you how much. You have to go and find out! The nice couple next to us were brave (they admitted to being full after a great dinner) and ordered the Bread pudding and ice cream dessert. I should have taken a picture. It looked yummy! Naturally they finished it despite their protests to its size. So a couple of items you should be aware of. The seafood here is fantastic. Happy hour is 2-6 pm , not sure if this is available on Friday and Saturday.

Beautiful restaurant, excellent food. All four entrees we had at our table were very tasty, well seasoned and the meld of flavors were carefully thought out. The kitchen was willing to sub potatoes for the pasta in my Moms dish and it came out great! Especially liked the bacon wrapped scallops, the brussel sprouts, the sea bass, and the pasta sauce. The smoked old fashioned is also delicious and a great recipe that the manager was willing to share. Service was extremely pleasant and helpful. Desserts are made in house and were an amazing finish to a great meal. Key lime pie was authentic. Bread pudding with bourbon sauce and cinnamon ice cream was comfort on a plate. Thank you for a very pleasant evening! Dietary restrictions: Willing to make substitution to accommodate a restriction. Wheelchair accessibility: Second floor restaurant, elevator is available. Fully accessible.

I am going to assume it was an off night, because the tables were at most half filled and our service was still well below acceptable. All praise goes to the busboy who stepped in to act as our waitor, but we were there for over an hour before our food came and when it did it was cold. The food would have been good were it not for the fact it had clearly been sitting out for a while. And from what we could see, this was a shared experience with most of the other tables. Needless to say we were very disappointed.

Nice Restaurant: white linens, black cloth napkins & nice atmosphere over looking the beach. Just what I was looking for calm/quiet/good fresh food. I ordered the marinated beef kabob- beef was so tough and over cooked, then the roasted potatoes were half done and semi raw to crunch. To top off I ordered chocolate cake to go. However, very disappointing. How do you screw up a cake? Let me tell you it was so dry-crumbled-and tasted 5 day old layers. To spend $90 and get disappointing food was understatement. Let s talk about the server: we were not ready to order yet. She said just wave at me when your ready order & pointed in direction. So each time we needed something we had to wave- but all 4-6 employees were at this table conversing. Luckily the pork chops were nice and tender, breaded nicely. Rice was nice & fluffy but the mash potatoes were dry and assuming instant. Real potatoes do not have the consistency of this serving. Waitress apologized for the over/under cooked food but never seen the manager. If a manager had came, probably a better tip and positive review. Oh and the radio & tv were equally loud and was disturbing during a nice early evening dinner date with my daughter.

The chips with the seafood dip were stale. The red snapper was great, but not very blackened for blackened. The bacon wrapped scallops were overcooked and chewy. The Brussel sprouts and seasonal veggies were undercooked and under seasoned. The risotto was surprisingly ok, but also under seasoned. The key lime pie was not tart enough, but the crust was good. The waitress was awesome and we love the atmosphere. I get the feeling from the reviews and our first visit is that it is hot and miss with this restaurant. Not sure I would go again. First the food. It was horrible. I ordered chilean sea bass with rice and veggies. The fish looked like frozen white fish and tasted that way. No flavor, overcooked. The rice was full of hard crunchy pcs. I ate 4 bites of my meal and returned it. I told the waitress how horrible it was. Her response was sorry and nothing after that. My husband ordered the stuffed fish special. It was ok, but not very flavorful. He ate half of the meal. We ordered drinks. After they sat at the bar for 10 minutes, my husband tried to go get them and they wouldnt allow us. Someone else promptly brought them over. Now for the rest. They make it seem like a fancy place (as we had never been). We got there dressed nice, everyone was in shorts and flip flops. The bathroom toilet was not flushing. I told the hostess. She did nothing. The manager stood around the hole time and never spoke to any guest. Worst experience I have had in Galveston. All of this cost me $170, and it was a waste.

We went to dinner at Cooper s Landing and the ambiance was great! Its a nice restaurant with a great view (for Galveston). The portion sizes are big , the fried platter is big enough for two people, the burger was delicious and huge. The Tuna poke bowl was a great size , had a nice kick to it and was delightful. The kid s grilled cheese plate seemed like an adult plate. The service was not ideal , we had to ask for serving spoons for the appetizers twice and they never brought them . We asked for silverware since there wasn t enough on our table for everyone . They didnt check in with us to see if we needed anything during our meal . We had to track down our waiter for the check and then remind him again. 20% gratuity was automatically charged to our bill since there were more than 6 in our party however the quality of the service did not warrant it . I will give it another shot and hope for better service ! Parking is also tight.

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Horrible food and service. My mom ordered a beer and never received it despite asking several times. The water brought at the beginning was never refilled, nor did our waiter check on it. The only time the water was refilled was when we had to flag down a different waiter and ask for it. Then when they brought out our food, my mother s scallops were inedible. They were far over cooked. To make matters worse, they kept saying they were going to bring out my father s seafood platter, but didn t until we were beginning to leave and asked for the check. At this point he was no longer hungry. To be honest, I probably wouldn t have written this, but the staff never even bothered to apologize. Neither our waiter nor the manager acted like anything was wrong. I will NEVER go back and urge you to go somewhere else.
