We had a great dinner at Fish Tales last night. The pan sauteed Mahi-mahi with buttery shrimp and crab topping was excellent. The Mahi-mahi fish tacos were also excellent. Mike took care of us and he provided us with excellent table service - friendly, professional, and attentive to our needs. And the overall atmosphere was very friendly. Weve eaten at Fish Tales many times and weve always had excellent experiences. By the way, we miss your iconic rotating fish tale on your roof. We hope youre able to get it re-mounted soon! Thanks again for a great dining experience :)

It was ok. $16+ for a cobb salad . If you don t eat seafood or are allergic they don t have much else to eat. My friend who is allergic to seafood got a reaction from the homemade chips bc the oil is all shared. Just a public service announcement . I know its called fish tales so duh on our part. I wouldn t go back. We ended up inside because I said it was a 30 minute wait to go outside, but there were plenty of tables open outside so I don t know why. And, it was very hot inside and with all the great food in galveston for me it wasn t it. Also, the margarita was not very good.

We loved this restaurant mostly for the view and used to come here very frequently for 20 years. The food was good and the service most of the time very good. In the last 3 years everything has been deteriorating. We thought every time that we won t come back anymore but still we really hoped they will fix the problems until yesterday. The waiting time was very very very long. The table was cleaned with a bar towel that smelled very bad and the most important the food was horrible. We asked for NO BUTTER on the grilled Red Snapper, just on the side. The fish was soaked in butter ( the so called butter is not butter at all) super dry and full of salt. The rice was fried in butter and very dry. The vegetables were mushy and the squash zucchini bitter too. We ordered the first bottle of wine that was finished before the food arrived (it took forever to bring the food because there were not enough waiters we were told) . We ordered a second bottle of wine when the food arrived and they brought it when we already finished our food. So nothing was right and we are never going back anymore. You can spend your many better elsewhere.

Dont even bother, just go across the street to Bubba Gump instead. The waitress was rude, the catfish was nasty and low quality and tasted bad. The fish on the seafood platter tasted better. The fries were cold and soggy. The voodoo sauce tasted good. Fish tales was more expensive than Bubba Gump and we got similar plates.

This place sucks. We were seated at a dirty table that wobbles. Then asked to move and manager rolled her eyes at us when we moved. The next waiter was horrible, we didnt get order taken for 45 minutes and when we finally got food we didnt even have silverware, then had to ask for it and refills. Then we had to stare at a hairy shirtless man in Daisy dukes while we ate cause theres obviously no dress code. The food was actually ok but do not waste your time coming here, theres so many places to choose from that actually want your business.

As walking to our tables the mangers stated they better hurry up and eat and not be on social media it s was very disappointing as we are a group of six ladies who came to enjoy dinner. We asked for a supervisor to let them know what we heard and they was no apology givin to us. Saying sorry for there inappropriate comment would have surfaced for us but instead we were giving bad excuses from not only one person on the management but 2 members. ( the same two that made the comment) Is that how managers are supposed to behave. I think not. After this we had no choice but leave and go the restaurant across the street.

Daughters got coconut shrimp and the crab and shrimp Alfredo. Everything was so good. We were so sharing bites back and forth so everyone could enjoy the flavors. Great service. Bobbi was on point! Visit 7-22-24: We went here for my birthday dinner. My friend and I shared the Fried Seafood Platter. Everything was crispy and delicious except the fish fillet. It was too chewy. We also ordered a side of hush puppies which were yummy. The girls had the kids grilled cheese meals and seemed to enjoy them. The waiter made sure to wish me a happy birthday more than once during our stay. All-in-all it was a great meal. The only two things I have to mention are 1) the Painkiller drink is not worth the price, too weak and 2) you have to pay $15 to park here. Parking: The parking lot charges $15 because people park there to walk across to the pier. You have to pay even if youre just eating at the restaurant. If it wouldnt have been a special occasion we would have eaten somewhere else just because of the fee.

Stopped here for a quick eat. We did come in to grab drinks and appetizers so I can really say much about the other part of the menu. But the oysters didnt leave me feeling the food would be any better. The texture was too rubbery Ive eaten plenty of oysters and Ive never had any taste like that. The shrimp cocktail was slightly disappointing . The waitress was great no issues with her she was very attentive and friendly. The tables we were sat on were very close and tight with the other set of tables. We were a party of 13 and the other 2 parties we had to each side were as big or bigger so it made it difficult to be comfortable. Im not sure how I left feeling about this location. May need to give it another try on our next Galveston trip

It was nice to be in Galveston after Hurricane Beryl! Its almost business as usual. This is a favorite place to eat and enjoy the view. The food took a minute today, but it was worth the wait. The weather was perfect, it would be nice if you didnt have to pay for parking. $15! We have been there before around lunchtime and didnt have to pay. I am not sure how it works but it says Pleasure Pier on the lot, so if you dine here , youre out $15. This is upsetting and i could go on forever. Went for dinner, sat at a table across from kitchen door opening. I was ready to go immediately, from what I could see in kitchen I felt sick. Dirty , dirty, dirty, food all over the floor, side of walls dirty, we were shocked. Prep area outside the kiten area nasty, and shouldnt be located in such a public area. There was an extension cord laying in kitchen floor, people stepping on it, guy finally picks up and gathers it only to throw on floor outside kitchen, then proceeds to not change gloves as fixing fries. The womens restroom, I thought a pipe had a leak or something, floor covered in water, door and walls nasty. Food was a 2 star at best, the seafood platter was probably the best choice ordered. Breading pudding was very good. We eat at alot of Landrys properties, and couldnt believe this is one of them. Although as far as the seafood restaurants go, seems as the quality of food could be much better. Our waitress gets 5 stars, she was excellent. Spending $180.00 for 4 to eat, I rather spend my money at Pappadeauxs.

Fish Tales in Galveston is yet another testament to the dismal failure that is Landry s corporate restaurant chain. If you re in the mood for gross, frozen seafood that likely hails from the far reaches of a Chinese processing plant, then by all means, step right up. Otherwise, save your taste buds and head for literally anywhere else. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that Fish Tales is just another cog in the Landry s machine, churning out soulless, flavorless dishes with all the charm of a DMV waiting room. The ambiance? Think tacky nautical theme meets fast food joint. It s a place where plastic fish decor goes to die, alongside your hopes for a decent meal. Let s start with the seafood platter, a veritable horror show on a plate. The shrimp were rubbery and tasteless, likely frozen long enough to have seen several presidential administrations come and go. The fish? If there was any actual fish beneath the thick, greasy batter, it remained well hidden. It had the consistency of an eraser and the flavor profile of wet cardboard. The calamari was a chewy, oily mess that tasted more like fried rubber bands than anything remotely edible. And then there was the crab cake. Calling this an abomination is an insult to abominations everywhere. It was a mushy, bland patty with no discernible crab flavor, drowned in a nondescript sauce that did nothing to mask its inherent mediocrity. It s as if the chef set out to create the most forgettable crab cake in existence and succeeded spectacularly. The sides were equally dismal. The fries were limp and soggy, a far cry from the crispy perfection one would hope for. The coleslaw was a sad, wilted affair, drowning in a cloyingly sweet dressing that could double as pancake syrup. Even the hush puppies, usually a safe bet, were dense and flavorless, a fitting companion to the rest of this tragic meal. Service was as uninspired as the food. The staff seemed to be going through the motions, devoid of any enthusiasm or genuine interest in providing a good dining experience. It was clear that they, too, had given up hope somewhere between serving yet another plate of frozen shrimp and dodging complaints from equally disappointed diners. If you re in Galveston and craving seafood, avoid Fish Tales like the plague. There are plenty of local joints that understand the meaning of fresh, flavorful seafood and know how to deliver a meal that doesn t make you question your life choices. Fish Tales is a blight on the culinary landscape, a stark reminder that corporate mediocrity should never be mistaken for quality dining. One star is far too generous for this frozen food fiasco.

Super high quality food. The fish dishes were like butter. Really enjoyed this meal. Ate too much but enjoyed every minute. Prices are fair and service is way above normal. Cant recommend more.. Special praise to Melissa, the finest effort available. Her effort to serve makes Mother Teresa look like a quitter.

Have eaten here several times & loved it. We usually plan a trip to Fish Tales as a part of our Galveston visits. Was very cold on the patio, so they kindly moved us (and ultimately everyone else seated there) inside. Problem this time was spring break (3/21). They had more than they could handle. Angry customer required a visit from local law enforcement (he had been waiting 20 min to be seated, and was belligerent, even though his reservation wasnt for another 15 min.) Drunk guy beside us during dinner was standing (wobbly) in his chair trying to get a drone style photo of his group, took a table visit from the mgr to get him down. Another teenager had to be almost carried out, too drunk to walk. As a result of the chaos, the service & food were not up to their usual standard. Opt for the coconut shrimp and avoid the fish & chips. Update: visited again last night (6/24) and the experience was totally different. Smaller crowd, no wait to be seated on the deck outside. Weather was fabulous, Service was okay, friendly but not attentive (empty glasses not refilled until we asked for more). Unfortunately they were out of coconut shrimp, so had a burger and it was excellent! I would be remis if I didnt mention parking. Since pleasure pier took over the parking around the restaurant, you now have to pay ($15), or park on the street somewhere within the surrounding neighborhood. Depending on day/time you may have a long walk.

We had the shrimp kisses. They were perfect and we had fried fish and fried shrimp, all were fantastic. They get busy on a weekend but it is expected if you are in this area and visiting pleasure pier.

Went with some friends for Memorial Day so it was a bit busy. None the less we were sat almost immediately. Miranda our server was amazing and so friendly. Adam the manager checked in on us several times to make sure everything was up to par. I had a passion fruit mojito which was sweet and yummy. Me and my husband got the oysters to start off which were amazing. Also got some calamari 10/10 and we got the shrimp and crab fettuccine. The portions were good and all the plates were empty by the end of dinner. 10/10 would go again. The atmosphere was terrific as well. Like maple syrup.

Eventually when he decided to show back up he took our order and disappeared again. He showed back up once more 20 minutes later and asked us again what we ordered as he hadn t put it in to the chefs. We cancelled our order and left. Very nautical themed as it should be. We came here specifically for Crawfish, however after eating them, it felt as if they had already had them cooked and boiled them again to warm them up because a lot of them were dried out and hard. The seasoning was delicious but a little on the spicey side, so be prepared for that. I really wish they had bibs to eat because its really messy to eat and squirts on you. Our waitress was nice and made sure we were well taken care of. Overall, a pretty nice place and Im sure its cheaper than their neighbors.

For starters, the building here at Fish Tails is beautiful. I didnt get to go upstairs, but I enjoyed the view of Pleasure Pier and the Gulf of Mexico from downstairs. This is a premium spot to go and sit for PEOPLE WATCHING. The scenery was dynamic, especially because it was a sunny, cloudless day . The downstairs dining area was not too busy. I sat myself and was greeted by the young guy at the ice creamery named Jack. He looked a bit, jacked up!. But he was pleasant and generous since NO server immediately greeted me. Besides, ol, jacked up JACK. THEY looked at me as if to say why this man coming here to eat by himself. THANKS, JACK! Youre the hero. The deep-fried onions that come with the crab balls were SOOOO SALTY. Dont let your grandma who has high blood pressure eat these fried onions because you might be calling an AMBULANCE. I told my server JANE DOE; she insisted on having the cook reflour them, but this time they were not seasoned ONLY tasting like flour battered onions. Yuck! Can you imagine battered flour onions NO taste?? The crab balls were OK. I give them a 5 out of 10. They, too, were VERY SALTY, and the taste of the crab is undistinguished because of the OVERSEASONING... Parking: So much Much parking. But if youre coming to visit Thursday to Sunday (pre-summer) ARRIVE EARLIER THAN PLANNED. (hint*,hint*) Wheelchair accessibility: There was wheelchair access into the restaurant.

the host sat us on the balcony, which was our preference. The view was great. Sat there for about 30 minutes until a server asked if anyone had been with us. I told her no, she kept walking. Came back about 5-10 minutes later, took our order and Brought our water Took about 15 minutes to get my bar beverage. Food came out sooo cold, & we asked for 2 sides of ranch (when we ordered the food) Took about ten minutes to get that after the food came out. Didn t see my server again so I asked another employee if we could cash out, he went and got my server and Gave her my card to pay, in which took about TEN MINUTES FOR THAT and by the time I gave her my card what rush they did have was already cleared out!! No wait at the door when we got there. It was a Wednesday night. Been in the service industry long enough to tell the difference between in the weeds and just careless. I literally watched people get their food who sat down after us before we got our drinks. Crayyyyyyy.
