Zero Stars for Oscar In the past few weeks, Galveston has endured significant challenges due to a recent hurricane. This disruption forced us to make a last-minute cancellation at our house next door in Beachtown, as power had not yet been restored. Fortunately, we found a three-bedroom condo available in Room 615 at The Galvestonian. The facilities at The Galvestonian, with the exception of the ice machine area, gym, and common area restrooms in the lobby, were well-kept and very enjoyable. Our condo itself was great, aside from three outlets in the kitchen and one in the living area not working, which left us without the use of the microwave. We informed the front desk, who said they would report it to maintenance, but we never received a follow-up or had anyone address the issue during our stay. The proximity to the soccer tournament, less than two miles away, was ideal. As is typical with tournaments, Sunday s schedule was uncertain, depending on win-or-go-home scenarios. On Saturday evening around 5 pm, we inquired about a late checkout. The front desk lady informed us that it would be $25 an hour extra, with the latest checkout at 1 pm due to another guest checking in that evening. I asked when we needed to let her know, and she replied, whenever. The next morning, we had our first match at 9 am. We won, meaning we played again at 10:40 and 12 pm. This timing was perfect for our 1 pm checkout. I called the front desk to confirm we would take the extended hours and were okay with the additional billing. The lady on the phone abruptly informed me that they don t offer late checkouts. I explained my conversation with her colleague from the previous evening, but she rudely cut me off, stating that the evening shift isnt allowed to authorize late checkouts. When I mentioned the unresolved power outlets issue, she told me, you have to let us know if something isn t working, to which I responded that we had immediately disclosed this. She then admitted they had a communication problem at the front desk. At 11:45, a lightning storm forced us off the beach, which worked well for our hotel arrangements. We returned upstairs, loaded our carts, and packed our vehicles. While waiting to hear if our final game would be rescheduled, we sat in the lobby watching the storm. The tournament organizers kept us updated as they tried to manage the flooding and play the last games. We were delayed for two hours. While stretching my legs and using the restroom, I was rudely approached by Oscar. Are you waiting for your room? he asked. I replied that we had checked out and were waiting to hear if we were heading back to Austin or playing our final match. He brusquely told us we had to leave the premises immediately. I informed him that we would never stay at the facility again, to which he replied, that s fine, someone else will. With a terrible taste in our mouths, we headed back to the tournament. Less than five minutes later, Oscar called, demanding we remove our other vehicle from the property within 10 minutes or it would be towed. Galveston has been through a lot in the past two weeks, and people are understandably on edge. The drainage system and tourism have been affected. We had just spent $1800 for two nights at your facility and, due to extenuating circumstances, were sitting in the lobby quietly. The facility was nearly empty, and we were not being disruptive. Given this experience, we will seek other accommodations if we visit Galveston in the future.

This place is overrated and overpriced. Theres a sign above the thermostats instructing not to turn them below 70. The room we stayed in had a cheap, bouncy mattress and cheap, hot bedding (think 2 star) so sleeping was difficult. There are a bunch of stairs leading to the boardwalk, so to bring a cart (or wheelchair) to the beach, you must have someone at the front desk meet you in the parking garage to open a special gate to get outside on the lower level. The outdoor showers seem to turn off at 6pm when they take the beach chairs away. Meanwhile, the sun doesnt set for hours. The beach chairs are only available for rent from a third party for $45/day, yet the Galvestonian uses their images on the home page (deceptively) without any info about renting until you arrive, and you must order online by 5pm or do without the next day. You cant bring beach towels to the beach - only the pool - and you can only exchange them at the front desk. The 2 bedroom condos do not have bathrooms accessible from the main living area (annoying if you are awake when others arent). Most dont have W/D or even curtains. The location was great and staff was friendly, but compared to other places we have stayed, I would have expected more for the price.

I ve been coming here for over 20 years and it s still a great place although the price has become a little excessive. The unit we stayed in this time was the nicest I ve ever stayed in (truly well done). But having a pool closed is super unfortunate. Hope they can get that worked out sooner than later.

We come to Galveston several times a year for family trips. This has been the worst stay of anywhere we have ever stayed in Galveston. We will not be staying here again and we will not recommend it to anyone. We loved the gorgeous view, the easy beach access, the extremely kind staff, and the beautiful unit we stayed in. The biggest concern is the lack of communication. We chose a unit that had a washer and dryer pictured so we could laundry during our stay. There was a sign posted that both machines were broken and we were not told beforehand. Each time we asked the front desk we were told Well get back with you, but no one ever did. The worst was the construction. We were staying for 2 full days. On the first day the construction noises in a unit above us were so loud, we couldnt stay in our room. We werent told of construction happening or work times prior to our check in. They were working until 4:30. With 2 toddlers, nap is important mid-day and was not possible due to the noise. It completely ruined the day. A simple email prior to check in to let guests know of construction and times could have helped tons the planning of our day and the worry that something could be wrong. When we asked the front desk and manager if we could switch rooms because of how loud the construction was, we were told everyone everywhere is complaining of the noise. The noise could not be heard on the lobby or the second floor (we verified with several other guests staying across the second floor). They refused to let us change rooms and gave us the number to the general manager. We still have not heard back from the general manager. We were told there would be no construction during our second day here. There was hammering in the unit above us that woke us up during our nap time. If everyone would have just communicated and been honest, we could have resolved our problems and worked around the construction times. Instead we were pushed off to someone else, ignored, and lied to. What we had to deal with here is not worth it for any other positive amenities they may offer.

We went through Ryson Vacation Rentals and was a great experience! The rooms are very nice. The walk to the beach is super easy. They have wagons to use if you have lots of items for the day at beach. Specifically through Ryson there was a few beach chairs and umbrella in the room to use. If there isn t one no fear you can rent them from front desk too. Felt safe, place was quiet , restful and relaxing.

I have been critical in the past but this time was fantastic. From the time we checked in to the moment we left. Of course it was very comfortable and relaxing and it made for a wonderful birthday. I would have given it a 5 but the pool color was green and very warm. In the past the pool color was a beautiful blue. Granted I know we have had a hot summer but I really think the maintenance crew could have done a better job. Maybe on our next trip it will be beautiful once again.

I have rented directly from Galvestonian & through airbnb etc... I like the fact its quiet, not crowded end of the beach. San Luis is great too, but if youre looking for more low key & family atmosphere, the this is the place. Everything is always clean, though the pool was cloudy all weekend for the 1st time of my stays. I wish they had a restaurant on the premises would be my only add. Rooms: 1 bedroom good size. Great view. Safety: Very safe. Been many times solo. Safe parking, card key requirements for elevator access. Walkability: Walk straight out to the beach. Wagons available. Nice umbrella service available as well.

Security risk! Dont allow housekeeping to enter your room. I left a jacket hanging in the closet of the second bedroom and reported it within an hour of leaving. The housekeeping staff who cleaned the room did not turn it in. I was in Room 712. The Galvestonian is in need of a major renovation. Its an older complex. All of the rooms in the condo are small. Both of the bathrooms are tiny. The balcony is very small as well. There is no separate shower in the master. It is a tub/shower combination. In the second bath, there is only a very small shower shower. Both are prefab plastic units and feel cheap. There is no counter space in either bathroom or a place to put clothes or hang towels. In second bath the wallpaper has a big tear in it and there is a very old, rusting heater hanging on the wall. The second bedroom has only an overhead light with no other lighting in the room. The room is too small for 2 beds with nightstands. There is a small table between the beds with no lamp on it. There are no wall outlets located near the table to charge phones. The kitchen had a good supply of dishes. There are no extra paper towels, trash bags, etc. No basics like salt & pepper.

My large family & I have been guests multiple times, at the Galvestonian for over 23 years, we have seen many changes, and took them in stride, even though we often felt them to be onerous. In June, I recommended the Galvestonian to a coworker, only to learn later, they had a terrible time, and complained about excessive rules, they felt like they were in a prison camp. I was quite embarrassed and so filled with regret, I couldn t apologize enough to my coworker. My family and extended family are now planning a trip to Galveston, so today, I decided to read the reviews, and I even called the front desk, to ask a few clarifying questions. I spoke to a woman, who was a bit rude & condescending, along with stating she s only worked at the Galvestonian for 3 weeks, but she confirmed all the new rules. Apparently, the Board of Directors are making all these new rules, and they really don t care about the paying guest, or whether they have a pleasant stay anymore. So, I booked another place, it was really nice, while it lasted Galvestonian. Honestly, why would anyone want to rent a condo there anymore?

We like that this is a pretty property with a quiet, laid back vibe, and also you dont have to walk across the busy Seawall blvd to get to the beach! The pool is really large with lots of furniture around it, and theres a big hot tub .... If its not so hot outside in Texas heat that you actually want to get in hot water LOL! . Our family enjoyed spending the day back & forth from pool to beach, and rather than go out to eat or cook on the condo, we got the most out of the day by grilling on the bbq pits btwn the beach and pool. There is also tennis/pickleball courts and a basketball goal. What we liked was that everyone can enjoy their time and do their own thing, without some of the crazy loud stuff and it didnt have people crammed everywhere. If you want a party vibe w rocking music by the pool, this probably isnt your place. But if you enjoy a clean pool and clean beach with great views, look no further. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we appreciated having clean towels to use at the pool - you could exchange wet or sandy towels from fresh ones at the 24 hour manned front desk. No matter what condo you stay in, the views are beautiful, with floor to ceiling windows and huge sliding doors. Do take a look at pics bc all units are individually owned and decorated, but no matter which one, the views are spectacular! Nice place and we will for sure choose it again. Renting through The Galvestonian website was easy and we loved our stay.

It feel like being at church camp, tons of rules restrictions and power happy staff but without the fun. Ugh. What a bummer. One staffer actually dug through the towel bin to try to verify I had the right count of towels to exchange - in front of my shivering 6 yr old! And to think people pay to stay here. Not for long.

Love this beach in Galveston. Location is great . Condo was clean and comfortable however owner needs to do more maintenance. Sink faucet very loose. No way to figure out internet unless you log in through your reservation. No beach towels to exchange even though there is an exchange system by the pool but you have to have the owner leave you the towels. No beach umbrella to rent (they were all gone ) it was not clear to get the beach package in advance. I wish there was more communication about the beach umbrella package in advance . Nice place overall

I have been staying at the Galvestonian with my family for almost 20 years. It has changed over the years, I wouldn t say the changes have made my stay more enjoyable but are probably necessary to create an environment for the majority of the guest. For example, trash was collected daily in the past which I liked, now it s collected upon request. I only stayed 3 nights this last time so I never requested that it be collected. I also remember more than the trash being collected, fresh towels were provided daily, beach towels were provided at the pool, and music was allowed at the pool. But new polices are in place because some probably had their music too loud, some children probably got too loud, the cost of many daily services probably got too high. Even with the new policies it s still the best place to stay. You are on the beach, all rooms face the gulf and have balconies (some have bay and gulf views from balconies). I checked other places this month and for what you get I think it s worth the price.

My wife and I made the 13 hour trek to Galveston again this year for our anniversary. It was our second time staying at the Galvestonian (2015), and we once again enjoyed our stay immensely! Lots to do in Galveston these days, even in October. Some attractions (including pleasure pier) were closed during the week though, so keep that in mind. Our room (1208) was very-well equipped and had pretty much anything you could need. The decor was nice and clean but did show some mild wear in spots. We loved the two-recliner living room setup this unit had, but the chairs were very broken down and didnt offer much cushion comfort/support for me. The nice t.v. and large amount channels offered were great as well. The staff was very helpful as we decided to stay a couple days longer than planned. The only bad thing was when it was time to leave, as we werent ready yet! God-willing well be back soon. Thank you for a wonderful stay! :)

Quick weekend getaway with my wife. The condos are located about as far east as you can go on the sewall, located right on East beach. As with most structures on Galveston, it shows its age. We laughed so hard when they were out of luggage carriers, they brought us a shopping cart lol. Hilarious. We were on the 9th floor, king bed with more floor to ceiling windows than you could ask for. The décor was outdated but comfortable. oh yah, if you want to rent two beach chairs with umbrella, be quick. Amenities were repectable. Large pool, hot tub, large deck with plenty of seating. Direct access to beach, PSA it was HOT AF wear proper footwear for 1000 degree sand. The beach was clean but it is Galveston so seaweed is always present. Once your done, there are outside showers and even a doggy wash station (visitor pets not allowed). We made several trips to eat out, sewall is always way to crowded, but the strand is also close by with lots of choices but can be just as busy. Enjoy!

LOVE this property!!! We rented a one bedroom condo through AirB&B. We have enjoyed the unit. Each one is unique to the owners preference. The property is amazing! Very well kept. The staff is very pleasant ans helpful except for a few people. Not eveyone should be in hospitality. Frank ( name?) Is exceptional. He is the assisatnt to the general manager. He is super nice and helpful. All the ladies at the front desk were great and smiling save the GM. I had read reviews about the pool and staff coming out to scold people about kids toys or drinking by the pool. There was drinking by the pool and kids floaties and no one came out..kids were loud and rowdy..no one came out. The hot tub had a problem getting hot the last day we were here but the maintenance staff was on it. On the walk back from the beach, there are multiple showers. Wagons to roll your suff out to the beach. Hammocks to lounge in. It was very nice. Love the 24 hour fitness center. There are no 25 lb weights. The only thing allowed after 10 PM is the treadmill. I was told that by Wade upon check in...no signs are posted stating this in the fitness center. The whole center feels very safe with the key card access on the elevators and the back gate to the beach. Love the bathrooms rooms by the pool. Plenty of deck/lounge seating. We will definitely be back to the Galvestonian renting from My Galveston Getaway!

Update: When asked to call management in response to my review, I didn t get a call back for weeks. I am so disheartned to see how such a great place can go downhill so fast. The customer service from Melissa and Oscar was the worst I have seen anywhere in a very long time. They were disrespectful from minute one and even harsh towards children. The room had fast food packages under the bed, stains on all the rugs and loveseat, and awful patch jobs in the bathroom walls. Past amenties are no longer available and the wow factor is gone. I highly recommend one of the other neighboring condos, and I am hopeful once there is a change in mangement this place can be what it was in the past.

No drinks by the pool, but you can have one by the hot tub? What? No kids toys allowed in the pool? No kids jumping in the pool? Wristbands the entire stay and cant take em off? No suttle music by our table? When it only said no loud music. I cant believe how many times this lady came out telling people around the pool and the lobby, no this or that. It wasnt relaxing for us or fun for the kids anymore, it was stressful. Im so sad this has ended it for us and I hope they realize how many people reviewing lately are saying the exact same thing.

It is sad where this once fabulous place has come. I should have left a positive review in the past but I didnt. Something has changed!! No toys in the pool for kids? No drinks by the pool? No music at all by the pool, even though the signs say no loud music. Mold in the rooms. A 5 day stay before you get your room cleaned? Outdated rugs. Once again, MOLD in the rooms. Crazy

It is unfortunate to see a place I have loved and gone to my entire life, 27 years, succumb to terrible new management. My family had combined 5 rooms being rented and after one family member checked out a couple of days earlier they ended up being escorted off the premises in essence for using the hot tub one last time. A paying customer used the hot tub while the rest of the family still had 4 rooms rented and was escorted off the premises. When the guests asked to get their things from the beach they were told they were not even allowed to use the regular beach access and that they could walk 200 yards to the public beach access points... I cannot make sense of the staffs attitude or enforcement of new stringent rules put into place. I can only assume they want to get rid of renters all together. It saddens me to know we will not be coming back to this place where my family has had so many memories and meals together.

Not so good. Been going there for about 5 years. Loved this place so much we spent spring break or summer each year because it was clean and family friendly. The only thing we ever needed was groceries. First thing we noticed was implementation of policy. My husband and children were never rowdy and werent the type to break hotel rules. My last stay, a lovely red headed staff member walked up to me while holding my young child in floaties trying to teach him to swim to inform me that no diving was allowed, when we had not dived I was holding my child with both hands to keep him above water. Also unwelcoming front desk. Fresh wash cloths werent an option or trash removal due to Covid precautions. If youre a regular there, you might not be happy with the changes. Will be looking for a new local vacation spot.

That response to my review was worthless. Yes the condos are owned by the owners but the Galvestonian Management and Boards of directors run the rentals. if you are going to post a reply please make one that is more personable and not a generic copy and paste. Truly insulting.

An annual trip to the Galvestonian is a staple in my husbands family. They have been visiting every summer for 35 years. I have been visiting for 10 of them. We have stayed in countless one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom condos. The Galvestonian is dated. Most rentals have small bathrooms and tiny kitchens. We have stayed at nicer, newer and less expensive condos on west beach. What kept us coming back year after year is the amenities, views and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the Galvestonian no longer feels like home. Staff our flat out rude, maid service is no longer offered, the complex is not kid friendly and the atmosphere just feels tense. You are forced to wear a generic cheap green bracelet at all times to prove you are a renter. They use to offer fruit infused waters, coffees, donuts and snacks. Now they barely have a running ice machine. Our extended family was kicked out after checking out of their room at 11 am. (Mind you most facilities allow use of amenities the duration of the day after checkout and it is not clearly written in the packet of rules. May want to add that one to the stack.) We still had 6 rooms at the facility but were told they could no longer use amenities or be added to another room. Our 12 year old cousin was yelled at in the pool area and escorted to her parents. When her older adult brother protested since she is a minor they basically threatened to call the cops. She hadn t been rough housing or misbehaving at the pool. On top of that staff had the audacity to say they had to drive down and use public beach access to gather their belongings from the beach. Seriously? They literally look for ways to start fights with rental customers. I m not sure what the goal is with management changes, but it is obviously not beneficial. I remember in years past they went out of their way to make our family reunions special. Even bringing a larger table for our family to gather in a 3 bedroom. The Galvestonian use to be the #1 condo rental on the Island. They are now third and will continue to get poor reviews unless the condo owners take action. If the goals of the condo association have changed then maybe consider ending rentals entirely? Next time you visit Galveston do yourself a favor and steer clear. There are many other options that are a better value and experience. Our recent visit has tainted all those years of fond memories. Unfortunately we won t be coming back.

This was my families 35th annual trip to the galvestonian. The new rules and management are senseless and rude. They came at 11:10 to kick my 12 year old cousin out of the room. We still had several rooms rented through the week. They told my uncle and family that they had to leave the property and could use the public beach access to collect their things from the beach. It is obvious the goal of these new rules is to weed out guests from staying. There is no appreciation for the guests or their money anymore here. At $500 a night save your money and go stay at a holiday inn. They will treat you better.

Not sure what has happened at the Galvestonian but the attitude towards guests staying in rentals has changed. To be able to swim in the pool you have to wear a wristband now which seems like a cheap water park requirement. You have to keep the plastic wristband on during your stay there. The pool is no longer child friendly as you cannot even bring a small water toy into the pool for young kids. Not child friendly anymore. If you are a guest and invite a friend over they have to park a mile down the road. We have long time friends in Houston drop by for a visit and the staff harassed them who they were even though the staff had our information. Just not a friendly place anymore for what you pay for. Very disappointed.

I have been the to Galvestonion for the last 14 years for a girls weekend. We all look forward to it every year. This year was such a disappointment, new rules, wrist bands mandatory at all times. Almost did not let us check in because we had to many quest for our 3 bedroom unit finally had to pay extra for each additional person and had to get an additional room. We had to stop some of our party from driving in until next day Pool rules- no drinks anywhere near pool- use to be just not in the pool this is such A nice place to stay but new management needs to chill out!!!! They are going to lose a lot of returning guest .

I have been coming here with my extended family for 19 years, booking 5 condos minimum. My grandparents started coming to Galveston 39 years a ago for their anniversary. This year the management changed and the atmosphere of what we came here for drastically changed. Very up-tight management. Enforcing a lot of rules and made vacation feel rather like a stressful week of obeying said rules. No maid service as usual. Unaesthetic wristbands must be worn at all times. Music not allowed when no guests anywhere near us. Cousin of 2 years old not allowed to have toys in or by pool. This place has completely changed since last years visit.

Beautiful , well kept condo . The Galvestonian is right on the beach with private beach access . It is located on East Beach . Very clean and maintained area. They offer wagons and beach toys to borrow for the day . They also offer beach chairs and umbrella rentals . You can do a grocery pick up and be ready to grill out or cook inside your condo . Make sure you reserve the grills and bring your own charcoal and grill tools. The only thing the place is missing is a full service bar and grill.

USED to be a great place . The quality , costumer service and up keep has diminished significantly . Quality : management is poor at best .They are rude to their guests and simple common sense issues are not resolved . It used to be a great place to take kids , bring your food and beverage and kick back for a weekend . Now , nothing works . There is 1 , yes ONE, ice machine for the entire place . To add insult to injury it doesn t even work . In the middle of the summer you can t get ice from a place that is definitely not cheap. There is no bar or restaurant so , well you can imagine the inconvenience. The pool : OMG the rules( not the safety rules ) prohibits everything . I m surprised you are allowed to swim. The barbecue area : you can t use the umbrella because a storm MIGHT be coming in the next 6 hours . You can grill and enjoy the brutal sun but you are not allowed to use the umbrella .An umbrella that takes 5 minutes to put away should a storm truly be in vicinity . Upkeep : the rooms were dusty the refrigerator didn t work and the area where you shower after coming from the Beach was clogged- you had to walk ankle deep in dirty stagnant water . Your comfort and dignity as a paying costumed is not a priority to them anymore . It used to be a great place to bring your family. You come in relax , no need to go to a restaurant or store . You order in , cook enjoy the beach and pool. We used to come twice a year for over the past 5 years . Unfortunately we will have to find another place that actually cares about its guests . My advice is that you do the same simply because your time and money is valuable and should be treated as such . Keep this place as your last option . If you have to come here don t stay at room 303 .

RUDE staff ,where do I begin WE had been staying in galveston at other nice and pleasant resorts due to our home having extrem water damage due to busted pipes due to the Texas winter storm.but our home was not finished due to storms this past week so we had to stay longer so thought we try the Galvestonia .we had checked in earlier with no problems got our suite and put our things in our suite. we went out to dinner and headed back to the Galvestonia. we were tired and want to go to our room to relax. when we walked into the lobby the RUDE lady working the front desk yelled at us to put on our mask ,she was so rude didnt even ask us kindly .my husband ran out to go get his mask and I was trying to put mine on and she just went crazy telling us we need to just leave and I told her I was not going to leave cause I had my things in the suite she even yelled at other guest to not let me get in the elevator .I told her I was going to get my things and she said she was going to call the police and I told her to go ahead she followed us up to the suite she treated us like we were crimminals we felt violated, harassed and discriminated against . I guess this is how you treat your senior guest what a nightmare. This lady needs a lesson in customer service.

Extremely Rude Welcoming & Ask us to Leave at 8:00 pm. Told us If we did not they would call the police & not give us a refund. The mask mandate had been lifted for Texas & no one told us that it was not part of The Galvestonian private rules. Check in was no problem but after returning from a nice relaxing dinner & looking forward to a nice quiet evening....shift change happened (the Desk Clerk Melissa ) RUDELY yelled very loud from behind the front desk over & over we require mask wearing here...I was startled & some what frighten as I fumbled through my purse for my mask to wear, my husband left to the car to get his mask. Melissa came for behind the desk & continued to yelled at me put on your mask on & to put it on right, I am going to have to ask ya to leave , I told her...I am looking for my mask & I placed it on & proceed to the elevator to go to our unit, she threatened to call the police & yelled out Stop Her! don t let her on the elevator to a staff person on the elevator... that seemed to be just as confused as I was. She also told me I could not get my belongings. I replied I have my mask on and I am going to get my things, I paid for my room you can t stop me & throw us out, because I am wearing my mask, she said this is private property & I can stop you & you can t get your thing and ya need to leave now or I going to call the police. I was confused because we both put are mask on, but I guess not as quickly as she wanted us to, this did not give her the right to throw us out. Wow, we are both over 60 you think she have some heart & it was late in the evening and we are being ask to leave even after following her so called private property mask rule. With my mask still on I ignored her and proceeded to the elevator to our unit. Melissa again said she was going to call the police but instead the maintenance man came to escort me to my unit & waited by the door while I gather my belongings. I suppose they don t have onsite security after all. My husband returned from the car with his mask on he was told the same thing & she ask a staff member to escort him to our unit as well. We were treated & like criminals and definitely not like guest. They followed us up to our unit & all the way back out the front door. My husband told her he wanted his money back, if she wanted us to leave, it was about at 8:30 pm. Melissa replied no your not getting your money back this privately owned property and you need to leave. Wow...I thought this woman is insane. She a mask dog #*+*#! I don t see how this is allowed, never have we been thrown out of a hotel after paying for a weeks stay & after wearing our mask as requested. We just stayed at Palisade Plams Condominiums next door which is a 5 star hotel (I highly recommend it - very modern & extremely clean). We would of continued to stay there for another two weeks but they were booked - We thought it would be just as nice to stay next door at The Galvestonian but we were very wrong. I rated this place as RUDE, It smelled like Roach Spray, Old furniture in lobby & unit & it had dirty old carpet/low rent appliances, but we were going to make the best of it because the outside area beach front & the pool was nice, we should of stayed at the San Luis instead or even at the Islander on East Beach again. Oh well... it was a huge inconvenience, very sad lasting devastating experience, A huge lost of our time, Weird place The Galvestonian. Desk Clerk made me feel very nervous & I will never stay there again after such a bad experience. We called America Express we did get our money back. We are going to stay at the Palisade Plams again next week. It s their lost of a good friendly customers & money.

I was very offended because I paya lot of money to stay there and that is against the law. First off, note that they are doing some renovations, so I would call first to see if they have a unit away from the hammering. We had a pleasant visit. We booked early on in Jan. before the virus took over, so we werent sure if we would be able to go. By the July 4th weekend, we were ready to get out of the house! Rolando was amazing and he should be applauded for excellent customer service! He always had a smile on his face and said hello when we came by the lobby. We had a room that we booked in advance but when we got there, the construction was going on above and next to us. Rolando graciously offered to move us to another room. Beautiful views of the gulf, and immaculate grounds. There is a grilling area, large pool and access to private beach.
