The most authentic tour of a historical home on the island! I loved talking with the owner and her sister, plus learning about the restoration process. Visit in-person to see the home come back to life around you. Also, follow on social media for touring hours and watch the progress!

What a great foundation trying to restore this old house with limited funds. The tours are great as well as their YouTube channel, along with grants & donations for this effort.

I visited the League-Kempner House with Gin Keel of Spoky Galveston and two of my team. The house is very nice in need of more restoration, and worth going to see.

The big difference between visiting this 19th century mansion and visiting Moody Mansion or Bishops Palace is that you can see restoration work in progress. There is much work to be done to restore this home so its interesting to see first hand all the challenges to be overcome. On the day we visited we met Janie, the woman who bought the house in 2021 and who is leading the work. It was fun hearing from her the story behind the house and the restoration.

If you have a love of antiquity and historic homes, this tour will thrill you to the bone. The home is not at her grandest, but those who admire antiquity will love her all the more for it! She has been fighting time, gravity, moisture, and insects, but stands tall and retains her grandeur. In touring this old home, you get to witness the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The League Kempner house is being renovated back to its former glory! This is a labor of love and dependent on fundraising and money from tours. Stop by and support this awesome cause. The house is simply amazing in its current state but one day will be a true show stopper. It is amazing! It isnt open at regular intervals so try to check ahead.

The owners are in the middle of restoration of this mansion, with the goal of bringing the home back to its original glory. Two years in, the structure is back on a stable foundation. This is a work in progress and will take a number of years to complete the project. In the meantime you can take a self guided tour of the house, if they are open. Not sure about days and times.
