I cant say enough good things about this restaurant. I had the lunch beef fajitas with the best refried beans Ive ever had in my life. The rice is fantastic as well. Tasted like it was cooked in chicken broth. Also had chips and guacamole. The chips tasted homemade and the guacamole was seasoned perfectly and so fresh. Our waiter Greg R was friendly and made me feel welcomed and answered all the questions I had. Overall, the prices werent bad. The only thing I found strange is the fajitas are priced by quarter pound, half pound, and pound. Have never seen this before. I recommend that anytime you are in Galveston to eat here. You will not be disappointed. Next time Im in Galveston I will be eating here again. Parking: There are a few parking lots nearby within walking distance.

What a great spot! As soon as we walked in, the energy was awesome, and the music they had playing really set the vibe. The menu s got plenty of options and the food was on point. Flavorful tacos and perfectly cooked fajitas. The staff was super attentive, from the servers to the bussers and even the managers, which made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere just felt right for a fun relaxed afternoon out. Definitely a place worth checking out if you re on the strand or nearby.

The staff was great and the atmosphere was on point, but the food/drinks were really lacking. The salsa was hot (who does hot salsa?!) and had way too much chipotle. The drinks were mostly syrup. The nachos were decent.

After a day at the beach, we wanted fish tacos and here was highly rated. We ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos with refried beans and rice and the Blackened Fish Tacos with charro beans and rice. The fish tacos were great. Nice blackened flavor. The shrimp tacos were good but a little on the sweet side to be truly great. Both beans had the exact same flavor profile so its just a matter of preferred consistency. The Sexy Mexican Margarita was very good!

When we finally got our table it took us 20 minutes to get chips and salsa. Salsa was a little disappointing. Wasnt expecting it to be hot. Salsa to me is supposed to be cold. My my appetizer of street corn was amazing but it took forever for my husband to get his entree and then it came out with the wrong side And too much sauce. Not enough sour cream. Not sure how you mess up two things. Waiter Harley checked on us and my husband stole two glasses of my water was in the evening total. He had four glasses of water.

When the food finally got to the table after they had to remake it for the second time it was good rice is great service it was horrible. It took the waiter 20 minutes to bring his chips and salsa and waters it wasnt even busy. Good thing we sat at the bar drinks from the bartender super cool and good at her job.

Our first time here. The service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very casual. We will definitely be coming back. Parking: Street parking on the Strand is sometimes difficult and it is paid parking until 6:00 pm. Being patient helps.

Food was great. All 6 of us liked our meals. It was a touch pricey but big portion sizes. My brother in law got a watermelon cocktail that wasnt great. The flavor profile was chemically tasting. Everyone else loved their drinks. Good Margaritas. Good palomas. The service was friendly but slow. We were there on a Sunday so maybe they didnt have a lot of staff on. Atmosphere was meh and kind of loud. Fast food looking atmosphere in my opinion. Would come here again though. Dietary restrictions: My wife is gluten free. She ate the corn tortillas and felt fine after.

Inside of the place is super cute and inviting and our server was really nice and got us everything we needed in a timely manner but the food sucks. We got a large queso for $9 that wasn t even filled up to the top with queso, elote corn that was obviously not drained because it was so liquidy, and my margarita was so sweet I felt like I was drinking straight sugar. I don t know if it was just an off night for the place but I definitely won t be coming back here for the food

Visiting Galveston to board a cruise. Our Lyft driver dropped us off on a side street, on The Strand (luggage and all) we walked a little distance and happened upon this Cantina. They graciously allowed us to set all our luggage and bags behind the area where the staff stands to greet and seat people. Our waiter was amazing and the food was soooo good!! My favorite was the 3 different dips and chips. It had guacamole, queso and a mango pico. So, so delicious . The atmosphere was fantastic as well it was nice & cool inside with blistering heat outside. Good music playing. Great Vibe. 10/10 Recommend

The chicken fajitas were fantastic, excellently cooked peppers and onions along with the fajita chicken. I could easily eat a plate of just the peppers and onions by themselves, and the queso was roasted but not smoky, which my wife loved. The rock and roll music was great to listen to while we ate and enjoyed the air conditioning. Would come back again.

My DH wanted to visit Brothers Brew next door & I dont do beer. I stepped in and was given time to view menu. Once I was done Sherry, the bartender, was so gracious! I ordered a fancy margarita & she let me know it would taste like a watermelon jolly rancher! Although I love those, I want interested in drinking one. I ended with a house margarita which was very well made. I have already suggested to DH that we visit again for dinner during our vacation. I will update my review if it happens. We did return for dinner the next day and it was delicious! We started off with chips and salsa. For dinner, I had Trailer Pork Tacos & husband had 2 tacos with one blackened fish and the other fried fish with a side of rice. Our waiter was great and was able to visit with us a bit about Galveston locals and the tourist season. I highly recommend.

Haven t been served our taco s yet but so far it is a very cool place. Nicely done up inside with very welcoming service, and speedy chips and salsa and drinks. Happy hour is cool. Bang bang taco was a little heavy but well executed. Pork was a little dry, but the burgers looked and smelled fantastic. Theres a lot of variety on this menu, so itll take several trips to sample it. Gave three stars for service only because the drinks were a little slow to come and had to hail the waitress for attention. Overall, I liked it, and will go back, but Id be a little scared to try it if they looked very busy.

I ate here about 2 weeks ago with a large group and the food and service were on spot. Today, while wondering around the doors were open at 10:40 even though they technically dont open til 11:00. When I paused to read the hours a server said come on in, the doors are open. We both ordered spicy pineapple margaritas. After 1 or 2 sips the bartender took them from us and made 2 new ones because he thought the pineapple juice he used was suspect. Cant ask for better service than that

We came to Galveston on a girls trip and stopped by here for lunch downtown. Greg, our server, was absolutely AMAZING! He answered all our questions and had great recommendations. Our food came out fast and was the most flavorful food we had that whole trip! I highly recommend this beautiful restaurant if you make it to the island. Great specialty taco place on the strand, we set at the trendy new bar and had friendly conversation as a band played across the street. The tacos were the best we have ever had. We tried the fried chicken taco and fajita beef taco. Both were very flavorful and delicious. The chicken was moist but also crunchy - perfect fried chicken. The fajita beef was so good and flavorful. The creamy queso and chips were also amazing! The building had been amazingly redone. Great decor and nice set up. We went last night, very excited to have a new Mexican restaurant! It was late so we had chips, queso and guacamole. Chips were warm and sturdy, not too salty. The queso was not out of a can, really thick consistency. Salsa was great too, not too spicy. The guacamole was creamy; we devoured everything. We could have done without the second platter of chips but oh well. 1/5/2024,we split the fajita beef nachos, plenty for two. The meat was tender with great flavor, on a mound of chips with queso, refried bean, jalapeños and a scoop of guacamole. We asked for the sour cream, lettuce and tomato on the side. The tomato was actually pico de gallo, which we poured over the nachos anyway. Salsa was on the side too and not too spicy, with a hint of sweetness. Great service from Sharon at the bar. We got there around 6 and the place was packed by the time we left.

The margaritas were great! We had the Black Barrel, The Jefe and the raspberry - all were fresh and flavorful. Food was delicious! We had chips, salsa and guacamole, which was fresh-made. We had the nachos (a huge portion with a smoky flavor), the roadhouse and bam-bam shrimp tacos - all were excellent. The best part was the service - Thomas took great care of us and manager, David, came by many times to ensure we had everything we needed. We live on the island and we will definitely be back!

Stopped for lunch. New place just opened beginning of November. It took a little while to get food, including the appetizer, but high was actually ordered along with lunch. Finally got the appetizer and our food came out a couple minutes later, at approximately room temp. The tortillas were hot. The beans were warmer than the meat. The meat was not hot at all. Fajitas should be HOT. It was ok. The guacamole was alright. Maybe we will come back another time. Until then, check the quality prior to serving. Our server was just ok.
