Awesome experience! Mr. Reese was very helpful at the front desk and explained everything perfectly, he made it so much easier for us. Our room was clean and tidy. Room service was fast and had great food. We had a fun time at the pyramids, Mark showed us what shark skin felt like and we even got to feel different shark teeth! We learned alot from him! All the employees are very nice and friendly and its a amazing place to come with family . We highly recommend! The Burlesons

Hotel is outdated, poorly maintained, and thus laughably overpriced. In-room phones didnt work, ice machine didnt work, room service invoiced prices were inconsistent with in-room menus. Bathroom sink backed up. Directional signage around the building is not accurate. These issues were shrugged off by staff when reported. Stay somewhere else.

We purchased a last getaway for our honeymoon. And purchased the hotel protection while on a cruise ship, just to be safe.. I got extremely sick the last night of the cruise, and we had to cut the trip early and head back home to Louisiana. :( When we received service back - 30 minutes from arriving to port- I went to cancel- and the automated message informed me I was 1 hour late- something I could not control due to being in the middle of the ocean with no service! It was 6am!!! Ledonna Lee was the name of the front desk supervisor we were in contact with. She told us she was going to follow hotel policy and hung up and that she would not refund our $101 hotel reservation. Next cruise, we know where NOT to go! Because all they care about is money! Oh, and I have screenshots which show proof of all conversations. So this is very much real!

We attended the Galveston Wine Fest @ Moody Gardens. The hotel was extremely dated and needs new bathroom fixtures and updating. The tub and sink were slow to drain and the light over the tub needed a new bulb. After the maintenance worker replaced the lightbulb, he left black shoe scuffs on the tub, which I had to clean off. We dined at the café, but were ignored after sitting down. We literally had to get up to ask someone for coffee and water. They have a wide selection at the breakfast buffet, but lacked real eggs at the omlet station. On our last day, @ 7:34 a.m., a maintenance worker was talking on his phone very loudly outside of our room. So much so, that I opened my door and told him to be quiet. The wine festival wasnt any better: After attending the Wine Festival @ Moody Gardens last week and there are some things you should know: First they provided horrible communication throughout the whole process. One of the first things I needed to know was if we were one of the 1st 200 customers and nobody could tell us that. Finally two days before the event, I got an email stating that we were. This was ridiculously last minute and very poor customer service. During the welcome wine tasting, they screwed up the drink tokens and we had to go to the front desk, wait in line and had to get them to fix the problem. During the other wine tasting events, water was not always readily available. We had to go ask people where they got their water. The water should always be in an obvious location, preferably where we pick up wine glasses. The cheese & cracker table was a joke. The selection was incredibly small for all of the people that came. And there was only one table with incredibly long lines. Should have had at least 2 or more tables. The bourbon dinner was another joke. If you like to eat 2 pieces of food for your dinner, then you would have enjoyed this. Not to mention, they had the bourbon pairings list screwed up, so that two of the pairings did not match what it should have been. Needless to say, we will not be coming back in the future. My advise is to not waste your money. The one in Kemah is much better

This was our first time staying on the property of Moody Gardens Hotel and Resort. We usually book our hotel off premises and commute to the amusement parks. Im glad we booked our stay on the property of Moody Gardens. I liked the convenience of activities, restaurants and shops. The staff was professional, friendly and welcoming. Requested hypoallergen room, quiet room location and extra towels. All our request was met and more. Only thing we had an issue with was the ice machine did not work at the end of our room floor and there was no microwave in the room only a refrigerator. I like how they hid the refrigerator in a cabinet. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant which was buffet style breakfast. It was reasonably priced and variety selections of foods. They have valet parking for a fee and free self parking which is conveniently across from hotel. They have a shuttle which will take you property attractions, just ask the valet staff and they will radio the shuttle bus for you. Plan on staying again in the future. Nearby activities: Aquarium, Rainforest & Discovery Pyramids. MG3D, 4D &Audienc Recognition Theaters, and the Colonel Padflewheel Boat. Palm Beach, Ropes Course & Zip line. Moody Gardens Golf Course, and Schlitterbahn Galveston plus more.

We had such a great experience!! The guest service was so fantastic. Whomever the gentleman is that coordinates the valet (I wish I d gotten his name to shout him out directly) is truly an angel and committed to excellent customer service. The room was clean and spacious with a great view of the pyramids. We took advantage of the complimentary bikes and cruised around the grounds a few times which was great for a little exercise. Prepare to spend some money, there s lots to do and of course it s premium rates but the convenience of having everything on site was worth the cost for us (especially the Starbucks!) We didn t bring our kids but the hotel is very kid friendly. The amenities were open late so it was fun to have a late night ice cream snack or cocktail by the pool. We had dinner at Shearns and the waitstaff was incredibly professional and definitely gave a luxury experience. The cafe downstairs was so cute and the breakfast was delicious. We also did the ropes course which looks so fun until you re up there and then the anxiety sets in lol but also super fun. The pyramids are worth the money! The rainforest was definitely our favorite. We will absolutely be back!

Our stay started off not great our original flight was cancelled due to the global software outage and the hotel refused to reimburse us for the first night we pre-paid, even as other travel companies made exceptions because of the global issue. When we finally arrived, we found the accommodations in general uncomfortable, dated, musky, and sad if the stay wasn t so expensive or if the hotel was more accommodating and cared about our experience at all, I would not be giving such a poor review. We had a room with a king bed and pullout couch for a family of four with two teens the room was TINY (like, bumping into and stumbling around furniture kind of small) and the pullout couch was so uncomfortable the kids didn t really sleep the entire time. When I asked the hotel if we could switch to a room with two beds, I was told that the couch was comfortable because they just replaced the mattresses and that the cheapest upgrade would cost an additional $200/ night. Additionally, the room had a strange, chemically sweet stench, which we discovered came from the cheap, pungent collection of shampoos and soaps in the bathroom. Kids had fun with some of the facilities (pool, ping pong), but that didn t come close to making up for the head-scratching cost of staying in such dismal accommodations at the mercy of management and staff who care so little about guest experience.

Absolutely loved our short stay at Moody Gardens Hotel. We were in for a dance convention. Unfortunately, Hurricane Beryl cut our stay short. The rooms are spacious and accommodating. The decor is excellent. Beds are comfy and the bathroom and in room vanity were perfect for 2 dancers and 1 mom. Here is the best part. Their staff!! The hurricane blew through. Power out in the main tower. The back up generator powered the bottom floor including the kitchen. The staff powered through. The Cafe staff made absolutely sure to have a wonderful hot breakfast buffet as well as lunch (Im sure dinner as well but I had checked out and headed home). It was fantastic. The staff also made sure that the childrens area for arts and crafts etc was up and running as well as the indoor pool. They did all this with a skeleton crew and with SMILES on their faces. They didnt miss a beat and my girls and I greatly appreciated it. This will be my go-to place to stay in Galveston from now on.

I booked this hotel for the dance competition that me and my daughter were very excited about. It just doesnt worth the money paid, room size and furnishing are ok, but bath tub was dirty, moldy. It is not that I am picky, but I expect at least obvious things. I addressed my concern at the lobby and they didnt even apologize. I asked to come and clean the room at the specific time but no one showed up. Also be careful to book from the third party like Agoda as they dont really handle your request and remind you multiple times that you booked it not through the hotel. Sad experience for a big fee.

I recently stayed at Moody Gardens Hotel, and it was a terrible experience. From the moment I walked into the room, I was disgusted. The sheets were dirty and stained, and it was clear they hadnt been changed. The room itself had an awful stench that made it hard to breathe comfortably. The bathroom was equally disgusting, with grime and dirt visible on the surfaces. The shower head was a nightmare, spraying water with the force of a pressure washer, making it impossible to take a relaxing shower. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Save your money and stay somewhere that values cleanliness and comfort.

Upon my seven year old son s request I am writing this 5 star review! We stayed here for two nights in the presidential suite and my children and their cousins loved it. It was amazing. They had the best time of their life and they never felt that way before. My son really liked the waterpark with the lazy river and the wave pool. The waves weren t too high which was nice. There were sand, chairs, and umbrellas for the parents to sit under while they watched their children play. The presidential suite had a bidet which the kids thought was a second toilet. The chandelier over the jacuzzi tub was gorgeous. We ate at the buffet downstairs for dinner which had a good assortment for the kids. The pool area was great and my kids especially liked the virgin strawberry daiquiris. The hot tub was nice and hot and the kids had a ton of fun playing in it! Thanks Moody Gardens! We will definitely be back soon! Best hotel ever!

Its next to Schlitterbahn and there is Zipline and Palm beach also along with the great adventures at Pyramids. However I did not like few things and spoilt the overall experience for me. - no choice of food in breakfast if you are Vegetarian. Only brown potatoes. - Even the basic 2 star hotels provide the toiletries like toothbrush, shaving kit etc. in rooms - Covered Parking at 13$ per day is way expensive

Ernest took care of canceling the reservation day before without any penalty fee ( I asked for), which was against their usual policy. Staying here for the second time, and for the second time no one answers the phone if you call the hotel operator, the front desk, or even the room service. You have to go downstairs to ask your questions or make your requests. Unbelievable! In addition, there was a power outage, which is understandable because it was not the hotels fault. What was not understandable was that the hotel staff was completely helpless and clueless about how they can assist guests in this situation with any kind of advice, and it took us a lot of extra time trying to resolve things caused by the power outage on our own. When I talked to the front desk clerk later the same evening, he found every possible excuse to prove why the hotel staff were right not to be able to help hotel guests in unusual circumstances. Of course, no compensation of any sort was offered for this inconvenience. This hotel has a big name, but the service is as if it was a small inn in the middle of nowhere.

We had a family vacation with 7 people, so we stayed in the rainforest suite. The pictures and description online are close to giving a feel, but we were all blown away by the reality upon arrival! What an amazing suite! The patio with private access to and from the pool, is bigger than 2 hotel rooms with dining and lounging accomodations provided. The main room the separates the two main sleeping areas, was immense with high ceilings and more than enough room for 3 rowdy kids!! The bedrooms were well furnished and comfortable, with separate climate controls from the main area as well. I am a hotel bed snob, and this was easily the most comfortable hotel bed weve slept on in decades!!! 3 full bathrooms are in the suite, with the common room having the best shower IMO. We had food from the Cafe as room service, in the restaurant and in the lobby bar. The food was fantastic, regardless of how it was served. The prices are actually reasonable too. We stayed in the middle of the week, so we didnt get to do some things that were closed, like the swim up bar, or the Zipline, but the resort was quiet until Thursday night when several conferences started, with all the attractions open on Friday. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will be back! Thank you! I would also like to add a Thank you to one of the managers.. Eric was the only person that introduced themselves, but multiple people assisted with the only bad thing the whole stay and made it right ASAP. Nearby activities: Moody gardens pyramids are a must visit. Hint! Get the day pass! Schlitterbahn is across the parking lot, too! I was very disappointed with our stay. We paid over $500 for 2 nights. We came here for our honeymoon and wanted to pick a kid friendly place for our 1 year old baby. The pyramids was 10/10! We really enjoyed those! It was our over priced rooms that are very dated, the view was mainly of the parking lot even though we paid an additional $125 for it. Our wait for our food was 40 mins because a large party ordered take out food, when we were one of the few people who actually dined in at the time. Our baby got so fussy, we ended up having to take the food up to our room when it finally came out. Neither of the pools was heated. The indoor pool felt like the titanic , the outdoor pool was so cold that people was cramming in the jacuzzi. I was very upset because part of the reason I picked this place was so that my family could enjoy the amenities. When we asked the staff about it, they just said we are working on it we decided we would just lay out by the pool an order a couple drinks from the bar, 2 drinks took 30 minutes an 1 had a fly in it so they had to remake it!! Keep in mind the bar was inside because the outdoor one was closed. The zip lining was closed, the water park was closed which is fine but lower the price for things not available during a particular season! I would say to anyone wanting to enjoy the pyramids , just stay somewhere else cheaper an pay little extra for pyramids. We are a very positive couple an made the best out of our situation but was overall very disappointed :(

As a first-timer at Moody Gardens, I arrived with a mix of business and pleasure, intrigued by the excitement portrayed in the online pictures. While the lobby exuded charm, my overall stay fell short of expectations. Although the room appeared clean, it felt outdated and lacked modern amenities. The damp carpet and worn-out furniture were disappointing, and the absence of a microwave was inconvenient. Additionally, the towels and washcloths carried a strong vinegar scent, and the heating system was initially non-functional. However, the staff were a highlight of the experience friendly, welcoming, and quick to address issues. Despite efforts to fix the heating, it took until the next night for it to work properly. Regarding dining, while room service was satisfactory, the food prices seemed high. Unfortunately, my breakfast was subpar, with greasy eggs, undercooked bacon, and stale waffles. On the upside, the pizza was enjoyable(10/10). Additionally, the community microwave on the second floor seemed impractical for wanting to reheat any food. The amenities, advertised as heated pools and a jacuzzi, were disappointing as they were not operational and cold. Overall, I was disappointed by the outdated facilities and lackluster amenities at what should be a premier resort destination. Moody Gardens is in need of significant renovation to match its concept and location. Good luck to future guests. Food and drinks: The pizza and chocolate cake were the best menu items in my opinion

The biggest issue my family (2 adults, 1 infant, and a puppy) and I had with this place was the loading and unloading experience - especially the position of the valets. The loading/unloading lanes and use of the awning need to be completely re-thought. If youre planning to stay here and it rains (which it will in Galveston) be prepared to load and unload all of your items in the rain or heat unless youre willing to spend money with the valets and bellhops The three lanes under the MASSIVE awning are taken up completely by valet and the loading and unloading area and lanes are exposed and inconvenient at best, along a curb downhill from the door. My favorite piece of this experience was standing in the rain loading my wet luggage as the valets stood under the large awning...with an umbrella stand. Additionally, the luggage carts are very small. If youre traveling with a family be ready to take at least 2-3 trips to the car. They have larger luggage carts available but those only come with a bellhop service - which we didnt use, but I assume expects some type of tip. My suggestion to the business would be to use the ballroom entrance for valet services so that others can make use of the awning in different weather cycles.

I came here for a 2 day meeting and all went well except the food at the meeting was terrible. The lunch was bland and tasteless. Dinner was included with the cost of meeting. We could bring a guest for $112, which I considered very expensive. I ended up skipping the dinner even though it had already been paid for because life is too short to eat terrible food. I have eaten at the Café near the pool previously and the food was solidly good. Reliable friends rave about Shearns.

I just checked in today. I paid for a King Bed room with Mini frig way in advance as this is my Anniversary with my wife. I get here, check in and open the door its 2 double beds. I go back to the lobby and tell the woman thats not what I reserved, that I paid for in advance for a King size bed. She looks it up and agreed and said ,let me look for a room with that. O we closed that part of the Hotel in the North Tower and no King beds available. She said its and upgrade, LOL When I booked the double beds were cheaper than the ! King bed rooms. Ill never come back to this place again, thats for sure. NOT AN UPGRADE AND DAMN SURE NOT WHAT I PAID FOR. The fire pit doesnt work and forget about a heated pool, its not. If you enjoy a cold shower when its 58 degrees outside then youll love the shower as it doesnt barely even get warm. Cold shower on a cool day. Ill definitely never return to Moody Gardens Hotel. Terrible is I booked 2 nights

Hotel Review... We stayed here for two nights before getting on a cruise ship. The staff were very friendly and talked us into a suite. That night, there was a large party in the suite across from ours. So large it flowed into the hallway. When I called to complain, I was told it was booked as a party and the hotel knew about it. So, they allow a party in a suite next to other suites with guests trying to get sleep? The compensation offered was a late check out, really? The next night, there was another party down the hall that went much later than the first. Didnt even call for this one. I do not write many bad reviews, you can read my other reviews and see that, but... IIF YOU WANT TO RELAX AND HAVE A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Nice hotel, large and comfortable rooms. Large and bright spaces, swimming pool, SPA and other amenities. Definitely suitable for families with children. Good location about 15 minutes by car from the historic center. Friendly staff. Cleanliness not on European standards for a hotel of this type, but in line with southern US standards. Coffee machine in the room. A little disorganized: we took a package that also included dinner, the Christmas show and the festival of lights. Nobody knew how to issue tickets for the various activities (in theory they should have arrived by email). Then in the end we managed to resolve it using the booking confirmation email, but it was a bit complex. The second evening we had dinner at the restaurant, the quality was excellent of the food, but we waited almost an hour. Definitely too much. On the last day we couldnt have breakfast because they were overcrowded and after 15 minutes of queuing they closed saying that we had to wait another half hour because there werent enough staff. We had to leave and so we had to give up breakfast. This is truly unacceptable in a hotel of this type.

For new years I stayed at the moody gardens hotel. The inside was decorated for Christmas and was absolutely gorgeous. The lady working the front desk didnt seem too knowledgeable about what she was doing. The security guard was very nice. They offer room service pretty late, going all the way until 2:30am some times. The room are spacious and very nice. I wish they would update the A/C units though. They do give you complimentary robes. If you want to impress someone stay here and then go to moody gardens when you can. Rating 9.3/10 Rooms: The rooms are spacious and have great amenities. The only thing I wish they would do is update the climate control. Nearby activities: Moody gardens is walking distance from the hotel, and a must see whenever staying here. Whether you want to do something romantic and get on the classy boat or something wild and adventurous like the rainforest pyramid, theres something for every occasion.

Me and my family stayed for the NYE PALOOZA 2024 and everything was perfect. The amount of stuff included in the package was staggering, the only problem we had was choosing what we wanted to do because of the plethora of choices. All of the staff were extremely helpful courteous. Me and my Mother both have physical disabilities and everything was ADA compatible. Which made the whole experience extremely enjoyable for both of us and my daughter. My daughter got to enjoy all that was offered despite me and my mother both being on mobility scooters. Walkability: Theres a while lot of walking involved so if you have any mobility issues, I highly suggest that you bring a mobility scooter or rent one from the local companies that provide this service. Hotel does have a few wheelchairs that you can use but theyre on a first come, first served basis. Food and drinks: We dined at Shearns and everything was so delicious but what really was amazing was how well they treated my Mother who had limited mobility. They were extremely patient, courteous, and attentive to her needs.

UPDATE: I have since spoken with a hotel supervisor and we were issued a partial credit so I am adding a star. I was honestly going to give this hotel 4 stars up until yesterday. But. We were there for 3 nights. Every night it was colder in our room than the previous night even tho we had the heat turned up. We called maintenance on the last night. They got the heat working and soon it was pleasant. We turned the heat off before we went to bed. Woke up at 3 am to about 90 degrees despite heat being totally off. We called the front desk. No maintenance until 8 am. (Really? In a $200 plus a night hotel?) We asked if they would bring a fan up so we could blow in cool air from the hallway. No, they had no fans. (Really? They couldnt have borrowed one from somewhere for 4 hours?) There was no ice in the ice machine, either. (Really? At 3 am?) We were checking out that morning anyway so I asked if they would just get our car. No. No valet until 7 am. (Really? They couldnt even tell us where our car was so I could go get it?) At this point they did offer to move us to another room. I told them we were checking out anyway and could we just get a room to sleep in. No. They had to move us totally out and into the new room. (Really? Somebody was going to show up between 4 am and 7 am needing that room when check in time is 4 pm?) So two disabled women who use walkers got to pack up our stuff and move to another room at 4 am. My wife cut her hand while this was going on so then it was all me. The desk clerk did offer to help when she showed up, to be fair. When we checked out in the morning, I was expecting to at least be offered a discount for the last night. That did not happen. Nobody even asked us how our stay was. The whole thing felt like an exercise in how not to solve a problem. Not recommended.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during the Dec holidays. While the location, the lobby and the grounds are good, the rooms, and dining experience was subpar. I had requested a room on a higher floor but was allocated a room on the mezzanine floor of the north tower, a long walk from everything. - The AC even at the lowest temperature setting was barely cool and they tried, but could not rectify the issue - The pillows were big and uncomfortable, for which I spent 2 sleepless nights and the front desk stated there were no replacements or another kind available. - Shower drain was slow and the flush required multiple attempts - The garden cafe - food was expensive and underwhelming. Overall, it was not a great vacation experience at this hotel for the price point.

Overall, my family and I had a horrible visit. Originally planned to stay two nights but one was more than enough. The room as soon as we walked in had a weird cigarette-like smell. Immediately called the front desk and the room next door was available so we got keys for that room only to find it smelled the exact same way. My wife and I both think its the type of cleaner they use and it just reeks of cigarette smoke with cleaner mixed in. I developed a sinus infection from the smell. The A/C thermostat did not work and would not switch to heat. We were freezing and had to call the front desk again and asked for maintenance to come look at our A/C. After waiting 40 minutes, I walked down to the front desk to check on the status of maintenance. There I learned the hotel staff KNOWS about the issue with the A/C. The heating and cooling switch has to manually be switched from inside of the unit. Maintenance arrived soon after and switched the A/C from cool to heat. Now the room got too hot and we decided to just leave the unit off since the thermostat does not work. I would not recommend staying here. Rooms: A/C does work, no microwave in the rooms, sink did not drain properly, and a very strong odor was presented in the two rooms we visited. Nearby activities: If you are in Galveston for Moody Gardens Aquarium or Rainforest, those are great and worth the visit but stay somewhere else. Walkability: Everything was walking distance from the hotel but that convenience is not worth staying here.

Check-in...smooth but front desk did not know anything about current events and apparently the event was separated to its own vs past experience the holiday events were part of check-ins. The 1st night the a/c was not working so we all were very uncomfortable. To add the hard pillows and bed. 2nd day we learned the mini fridge had not been working. Our food spoiled. We called maintenance only to experience extremely inaccurate communications. Staff discussed how people in room moved fridge causing water spilling and carpet damage. We immediately took this to the front desk but by then we were already feeling very upset and uncomfortable. Parking was filled with families just joining the event and not staying at hotel. After a visit at the beach we returned to hotel though We had no place to park, amd forced to pay for garage parking. The cost of an overnight stay is not worth the value. We even experienced poor customer service at the restaurant on site. ...and we believe they might have bed bugs...our arms are covered in bug bites. We just realized on our drive back home everyone is itching. :( Holiday events though are on same premises, its apparently not part of the hotel. The event was incredible and staff were hospitable. Definitely recommend the Holiday Events. Noteworthy details: Not upgraded rooms

She explained a little about the amenities and pointed out where the elevators were. Our room left much to be desired for the price, however. It reeked of cigarette smoke even though signs in the hallway said it was a nonsmoking floor. We got very congested at night from the smoke smell. The furniture was worn and chipped. The bathroom door needed to be repainted. And neither drain worked well in the bathroom-tub nor sink. We had a drink and an appetizer in the lobby bar-the drinks were good and the server friendly but the appetizer order of nachos was ice cold. Had to send back and the next one that came out was barely warm. All in all there are better places to stay in Galveston for the price you pay here.

I stayed at Moody Gardens as I was attending a conference and a number of courses on site. The booking process was fairly easy and the employee I spoke with was very pleasant to deal with. Upon check-in though, the experience wasnt as friendly in my opinion. Maybe I expected a bit more information from the staff in terms of the amenities, location of conference rooms, etc., but this information was not offered until I specifically asked. The room was quite spacious and well appointed, had very comfortable beds, and were extremely quiet. The most I heard was the doors opening and closing. I cant recall hearing any guests in adjacent rooms or above me. The room did seem a bit dated and I found that one of the lamps didnt work at all along with what looked to be some mirror finish being damaged in the bathroom. The room was quite warm upon check-in, but it cooled down quickly once I adjusted the thermostat. The housekeepers probably didnt enjoy how cool I kept the room, but this Canadian is used to cooler temperatures in October and not what is considered cool temperatures in Texas (relatively warm in my opinion). The room was very clean, and the housekeeping staff kept it that way throughout my stay. They were also extremely friendly in passing. The one thing that was a little disappointing is that the ice machine wasnt working on the 4th floor, so I had to make a run to one of the other floors every day. There are a lot of amenities on site, including the pyramids that house an aquarium, rainforest, and discovery science activities and exhibits, alongside the outdoor pool, indoor pool, zipline and ropes area, Palm Beach waterpark, outdoor large chess set, outdoor pingpong, and other activities. Theres also a Schlitterbahn Waterpark adjacent to the resort. Unfortunately the waterparks and zipline/ropes areas were closed for the season, otherwise I probably wouldve brought my family down with me. I was able to check out the aquarium pyramid and found it to be alright, but not as amazing as other aquariums Ive experienced such as the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. It was a little expensive in my opinion as well. Ill have a separate detailed review for the aquarium. Theres a lot of nice areas to walk around the resort as well. I even found a small playground on site for children. The conference rooms were quite nice, although some of them are a little on the smaller side. I really did not like the table covers that they used which are the stretchy kind that are kept in place by the table legs. I found that when 2 people were seated at each table, this table covers impeded our leg space and made it uncomfortable. The main conference hall was nice and spacious and allowed for a good flow of people whilst allowing vendors to meet with patrons. I ate at the Lobby Bar a couple of times and found the staff there to be very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing as were the drinks. I highly recommend the Grilled Chicken and Strawberry Salad as the vanilla bean vinaigrette mixed with the goat cheese and candied pecans to be absolutely delicious. I especially enjoyed the creaminess of the vinaigrette dressing with the goat cheese. The teriyaki chicken wings were also quite tasty, but I had the salad multiple times as it was that amazing. I also grabbed a couple of muffins and fruit cups from Moody Brews and really enjoyed them as well. I would definitely think about staying at Moody Gardens in the future, especially if Im attending a business conference there. Its also a great place for a family, however, youre definitely going to pay for it. Im not sure what kind of packages they offer during the summer months, but Im sure they have some available with the waterparks and potentially other onsite amenities. Rooms: The rooms were quite spacious, had very comfortable beds, and were extremely quiet. The most I heard was the doors opening and closing. I cant recall hearing any guests in adjacent rooms or above me. Nearby activities: The pyramids (aquarium, rainforest, discovery), zipline/ropes area, Palm Beach waterpark, Schlitterbahn Waterpark. The seawall and beach are further away, but a great place to get out and enjoy the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. Theres a mini-golf course when travelling west along the seawall. Theres also the Moody Gardens golf course nearby. Walkability: There were quite a few areas to walk around the resort site. I wouldnt suggest walking to the seawall though. Food and drinks: I highly recommend the Grilled Chicken and Strawberry Salad at the Lobby Bar as the vanilla bean vinaigrette mixed with the goat cheese and candied pecans to be absolutely delicious. I especially enjoyed the creaminess of the vinaigrette dressing with the goat cheese.

Edit 2023: I also had an issue upon another stay in 2023. Jeff Elkins, the Director of Room Operations reached out to me to, most importantly listen to my concerns and then addressed them the best he could. This review went from 1 star to 3 stars based upon his reaching out. Run down rooms...pics show issues. The TV remote had dead batteries and a hanger was broken. The hotel could be so much better with some improvements.

This place is not worth the money or hype. It s vastly over priced. The ac broke in our room twice and they charged us 38 dollars for using their shampoo?! That s free at every other hotel on the planet. We didn t use anything else in the room including their 6 dollar water bottles! Don t stay here it s not worth it. Rooms: Holiday inn has nicer rooms honestly Nearby activities: The activities on the grounds cost extra money. Around 30-40 dollars a piece extra per activity! Not worth it

Overall negative experience. Cameron at the front desk was really rude upon checking-in and seemed annoyed that I was disturbing him from whatever he was doing on the computer. Usually when you go to a resort the staff always explains a little bit about the property, what amenities there are, restaurants, etc. He literally just told me the room number and waited for me to leave, I had to even ask him how to get to the elevators and room. Throughout the stay you could tell all staff were not really great and I saw a couple of arguments of other guests with the front desk when I walked by. Rooms were a little below-par for what youd expect for the money and one time I got a dirty towel as well. Carpet needs some deep cleaning, definitely lots of stains throughout the property. Walkability: I wouldnt walk to the beach from here, all the other attractions (pyramids) are pretty close though.

Our family visits Galveston almost yearly. We usually visit the seawall area & enjoy the beach. Our new jewel is this hotel as its huge outdoor pool is heated theres a hot tub as well. The outdoor pool is warmer than their indoor pool. I think moody gardens is nice for families with younger children as it doesnt take days to see everything or too too much walking. Its great for all ages :) Hope this helps someone plan or have a great vacation

Absolutely atrocious customer service at the front counter. We got there at 8pm on September 30 and the gentleman at the from Check in desk was extremely rude with a nasty attitude! It was very discouraging. It honestly ruined the first impression and I m very sad about that because the hotel lobby is beautiful!

Been a while since we were here but we loved it. The bed was even great! Water pressure, not so much. It was nice being so close to everything we were there to do.
