The Empty Bowl Gala fundraiser for The Jesse Tree was well attended and just short of Glorious! The venue is roomy and beautiful. Very well preserved, clean and spacious in a lovely park. I hope they met their fundraising needs. The soups provided by local restaurants were so fabulous, I would pay for the recipes! Thank you GHF and all who gathered at this great venue to support this worthy cause.

If your considering having your wedding here do it in the fall/winter! Just went to a June wedding here and it was brutally hot- no ventilation! Everyone was sweating and used whatever around them to make a hand fan to try to cool off! It was extremely uncomfortable! It was actually cooler outside than inside!! Parking available for abt 20 cars max. Everyone had to park in the street

Thus venue was simy stunning I loved it so much. We went to the wedding of Spence & Morken and it was fabulous! The garden where the ceremony took place was beautiful and as we entered the venue I was stunned! The sunlight brightened up the place and as night fell the room light was lit with a soft light. The ladies bathroom was spacious and very cleaned.

This is an awesome place for a wedding. Our friends were married here outside and had the reception in the building. The only thing was about 5 pm mosquitos came around. Bring those citronella candles or burners and that should do the trick...

This is a historic landmark. In design of a Teutonic Club; all stockholders were of German descent. Center for city s social life, 1876-1923, complex had an octagonal dance pavilion, tennis courts, bowling and tenpin alleys, bandstand, fountains. The complex was site of Galveston s first underground electrical conduits. When corporation was dissolved, Stanley E. (Pat) Kempner bought the property and gave it to the city of Galveston for park use. Recorded Texas Historic Landmark 1971

I have not been to a function or even been inside the building. But i do walk through the park/ garden its attached to. Very nice green grass. Benches trees and pickanick tables. There are some historic looking concrete pillars a clean path a fiuntain and one of the galveston turtle statues there. I have walked by durring a wed reception or somthing and it looked pretty nice.

This park is Galveston history long ago before the great storm of 1900 men and women would dance the night away to music in the verin during the great storm many were swept to this park they hung for dear life unto the branches of the old oak trees Issac Cline washed up on the building! His three daughters with him in the great storm but now its a wonderful park filled with beautiful oak trees Alamo oaks with a walking trail beautiful fountain and picnic tables even a few bbq pits for use a great place for gatherings or quiet reading
