If it s German food you are seeking, do not eat here. We ordered the schnitzel and it was die reinste Katastrophe. The sauce was just a flour mixture with some mushroom and onions. The fries were soaked in oil and soggy. I mean, I have long lost hope finding a good schnitzel but this was the worst i have ever come across. Since it s Galveston we ordered fish and chips, same soggy fries with 3 small pieces of fish. It was fresh though! The Chicken tenders are better at Canes. I don t like bashing but I was deeply disappointed with this place, especially since my national flag is drawn on every wall! I was hoping for a little bit of comfort food from home but left embarrassed that people think this is actually good.

The reuben was superb! Perfectly done beef the right amount of sauerkraut and mustard. The bread was perfect marble rye!!! It was such a large sandwich my friend and I shared.

My fiancé called in an order of food for dinner for us for take out, went to pick up the food and they informed him that they did not provide my meal because they were out of mashed potatoes. The kitchen was supposed to be open for another hour after we placed the order, but they had closed the kitchen early right after we placed our order because they didn t have any customers so since they had chosen to close earlier we could not order anything else. They never called to inform us so that we could order something else or make alternative plans or offer to make something else since they could not fulfill the order. The night before we had also called to place an order 15 minutes before their website says that it is the last time to place orders (called at 10:25 and the last time that the website says they can take orders is 10:39). Was unable to use the website to place the order, so we had tried calling umpteen times and the call was not going through because their phone lines had already been cut off, so we rushed over to place the order in person. My fiancé places the entire order with the cashier and after placing the order and paying for it the cook came out and said that the kitchen is closed even though it was within the time that the website says you may still order food.

The atmosphere was nice, we enjoyed the pool table. I do not recommend the fish and chips. I found it extremely greasy, the fish was soft without texture, and the thick breading looked dirty with many black dots which indicate old oil. I had to send mine back.

We visited on 8/4/24 around 2pm. Ordered the original bratwurst. It was good. Pub style pretzel was awesome. The waitress was not too attentive. Had to ask for a clean cup since my cut was crusty with milk or food on it.

Five stars for Shannon on the third floor!!! I m from Ohio and my girlfriend has shown me so many places in Houston and clear lake area. The service here has been absolutely amazing , better than anywhere she has shown me. Definitely recommend asking for Shannon on the third floor! Super friendly and great drink recommendations!

It was open during the aftermath of the Beryl hurricane. Service was second to none with the resources they had. Took in many travelers while the island was down. The food was delicious. Swiss burgers and chicken fried chicken were very good. Had a family area with games. Will come back when not in hurricane season.

Huge place, live music, lots of options, a little divey (in a good way). Slow service. We went to the bar and were told we could get service at a table. Took a while to get a menu, waited a while, gave up and left. I would still give it another shot though.

The food was good and they have great beer on tap. My problem began an hour after I left when my credit card was charged an additional $42.50. I went back and spoke with someone who said they were a manager and was told it was a hold like gas pumps put on cards. I expressed my doubts about a $42.50 hold but didnt want to cause a scene. And guess what...the charge went through so I had to contest it with my credit card company. I like that they backed up an employee but even they should have know it was bogus and that their waitress had kept my credit card info and stole from me. Guess Ill be cash only if I ever go back.

I was desperate for late night pub food and a good drink, and despite it being a Monday at 10pm, Stuttgarden gave me exactly what I wanted!! Pretzel and gouda fondue, pulled pork sliders, and fishnchips were SO GOOD, and Mike was a great bartender to end our night with. Thank you guys for being open and wonderful!!!

Second visit to Galveston, second time rained out by a storm, so whaddyagonnado if not go to a bar? So we got here at opening time pretty much, family of 5 (incl. a child) and found our way to the correct floor. Ben served us well giving us recommendations for food, games, and general friendly banter. We ended up staying for hours, playing pool, darts, Jenga, connect4 and talking to other patrons who kind of had a German connection too. And because I promised Ben when leaving; Service sucked, Bens a jerk, will definitely be back, 10 out of 10! To clarify: the last sentence is sarcasm, Ben was amazing and we were being sarcastic from the get go. He made the evening great and we wouldnt have stayed four hours (!) otherwise!

We were visiting Galveston and came across this establishment. The view from the third floor bar was spectacular. The number of beers on tap was plentiful. We had a great experience thanks to Shannon, the bartender. He was knowledgeable and very personable and made us feel so comfortable. We will come back again because of the great service!

The trivia on Tuesdays is fun but the staff is terrible. Our waiter never returned to our table, we were out of drinks for a while, one of our party approached him on the way to the restroom while he was at another table. He told him he needed a beer when he got a chance. He came to our table and scolded our friend for interrupting him while he was busy. Our friend apologized and the server took his order. This guy needs some manners. If the service is slow and bad, its not our fault, ask for better staffing or quit if you dont like your job but dont ever scold a customer just because youre neglecting the table and your job.

Absolutely nobody on the first floor, followed signs to second floor, some sort of trivia night going on, old man on a microphone calling out Q&As, we stood around for a few min til I flagged down a nice waitress, after that things were better, cold beer, hot food, better service. Full menu, may be a little dated, A LOT of beers on the menu, food above mediocre. With something like 40+ beers on tap, this place is a great stop from your Strand Street shopping excursion. Get a giant pretzel and some fried pickles or stay for bangers and mash. Big menu, games, friendly faces, and a view of the ship channel from multiple indoor and outside dining areas. V2... Still a great place for drafts and food is great too. One of the top burgers in Galveston!

The atmosphere is nice. The bartender was better when he came around after rudely getting our IDs and cards on file, which I understand. We ordered one mixed drink and a couple of beers, and the drink service was fine. However, we ordered food to go around 9:30, and the kitchen didn t close until 11, according to a sign on the wall. The food was absolutely horrendous. We got a French dip and a cheesesteak. The French dip was extremely dry and unseasoned. They didn t put horseradish on it and forgot the au jus . They also forgot my side. The cheesesteak was also completely unseasoned, and the meat on both was very tough and hard to stomach. They also put way too much cheese or whatever it is on top. I guess you re better off going better during the day. It was a complete waste of money & they both got trashed.

Absolutely lousy food. It was the worst schnitzel Ive ever had. Partly raw on top of a bed of cold potatoes. My bill was overcharged by $20. The waitress added that amount extra to the service bill that was already charged for a large group. The only reason to visit that place is to drink a beer (ample selection) while viewing the bay from the roof garden.

Omg. This place was incredible! Three floors and the upper two were open. We went up to the third floor where we could see the water. A bit dark but they have plenty of seating. Great menu with lots of options. We decided on brats (I got the Gouda one and hubby got the brisket one) and we got them American style (pulled pork, mac n cheese) w/ fries. We also got a pretzel as well. Absolutely incredible food! Waitress was very personable and friendly even though she was the only one manning the bar and delivering our food. I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The Yuengling beer lacked carbonation and flavor, and the food, including chicken tenders, wings, and fries, was far from fresh. The wings were overly greasy and had an old taste, while the fries were also not fresh. Despite the offer to replace the beer, we chose not to accept it due to the overall disappointing dining experience, but nothing could be done about the food. The prices were high for the quality, and I cannot recommend this place. On a positive note, the waiter was friendly, though unable to improve the food quality.

Its a favorite late night spot for the pilots amd skydivers after we get flying and jumping and Skydive Galveston. Reuben is one of the best, if not the best. Beer selection is excellent, and they know how to make a good French Dip.

Really!! Although polite, the waiter had no idea what Spaten draft was. They should at least train them about what the main German Beers they serve are. This is a complete faux German joint. I had to read a number off a listing sheet, and pointed it out just to make sure. The food was not that bad, brats overcooked; schnitzel was very nice. The red cabbage was disappointing; however; the cheese brat was surprisingly good ( I normally do not like cheese in sausages).

Possible food poisoning. We were sick for 2 days. 4 people dined on Sunday at lunch. The restaurant was nearly empty. We ordered 2 appetizers (fried pickles and sauerkraut balls) and 4 dinners. The pickles were fried too long. The sauerkraut, cream cheese balls were crispy on the outside and lukewarm on the inside and may have been the culprit for the 4 of us getting sick. The entrées were edible and nothing more. The beer was the best part of the meal. Food quality was poor for the price. I will not dine there again.

Food is great. Large portions. We could have split our main course. Benjamin was a great waiter, always there for refills and questions. Sat on 3rd floor patio, was warm (during Texans heatwave) and still felt comfortable as they had plenty of fans and breeze. They have table games to help pass the time. Will be back. Wheelchair accessibility: Elevator that goes to all floors.

Our waiter was very incompetent. Had to get other waiters to help him close us out. Came on a Tuesday for $1 bingo and their other deals. The staff and kitchen could not keep up with the demand. Food took 1.5 hours, staff couldn t properly charge us for our food. Food wasn t great either for all the hassle.

This place is great. My kids loved the food and atmosphere. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The shepherds pie was fantastic. My wife, who is from London, approved. I had the schnitzel and it was the best Ive had outside of Germany, which I lived in for 5 years. The drinks were strong and the best Ive had on the island. I totally recommend this place.
