For those who dream of cruising but are seasick, you will find the ideal place here! I loved enjoying the view overlooking the amusement park while drinking delicious cocktails on the roof. In addition, there is also a swimming pool on the ground floor so if you are equipped you can take advantage of it and order your cocktails directly from the pool. The cocktails were very good and so was the food. The service was fast and professional.

Inexpensive and well located, it feels a bit like an all included resort, but on demand A good place for people watching, to enjoy the sunset and the view of Pleasure Island Pier, especially on the roof top. Dont expect anything stellar, but hey Id gladly go back to enjoy the sunset, the cheap beer and the tasty grub.

This place is so much fun. The food is reasonably priced, good selection, cheap margaritas, and friendly staff. My kids came to swim in the pool while we are. Kids are allowed to swim from 11am-2pm. We love this place. Its one of our new favorites.

Its small inside, but outside and upstairs theres room to spread out. Theres a tiny pool. If theres been a lot of people, I wouldnt go in it. Understaffed. Rude bartender. Unprofessional manager. It used to be a fun place. I dont know what happened. They do have wheelchair accessibility; I dont know why it says none Wheelchair accessibility: None.

I have been to the float a few years back and had no issues. But on Friday we went to have a drink. We went to the top level and the waitress never greeted she rudely stated the kitchen is close. And continue to walk away without a greeting. She returns to finish cleaning her table (still no greeting) I politely asked her did they have a drink menu, again rudely she points at the menu and say it s only bar service you will have to go downstairs to make order and proceeds to walk off. We were then greeting by another young lady taking our drink orders. I asked I thought that it was only bar services and we would have to go to the bar (she stated the bar was backed up so she decided to help) meanwhile the guy waitress as well the rude waitress was still working the same floor. We were a group of 8 blacks that I believe the young lady racially profiled before trying to assist us. Everyone grown with decent jobs treated with such disrespect. Even the water down drink wouldn t stop me from coming because view and vibe nice but that young lady has made us feel very unwelcome. I made the young lady who helped us aware of how the lady treated )she apologized.

I m alittle confused. This is my 2nd time having a bad experience in Galveston. Me and my girls came out here for the weekend and came to this bar, everything was good I tipped well, and the server was good. We went to the beach and came back for more drinks (mind you we ve only had 1 marg and a shot) when we come back in from the beach the manager tells me we cant come in . ????? And when I ask her for a reason she couldn t give it to me. She was brown skin in her 30s. I ve never felt so DISRESPECTED in my life .. so I m trying to get a reasoning and she ends up calling the cops. Honestly felt so unnecessary I will NEVER be returning. 0/10 Galveston customer service is ASSSSSS!

This place has potential. A bar, small swimming pool you can drink in, an outdoor upper deck which you can look out on the the Gulf of Mexico and the Galveston Beach close to the Pleasure Peer, and a pretty decent selection of food. BUT, the food was bland, service absolutely sucked, parking was horrible, and the manager spent more time talking to people than watching and directing his employees. Wasted potential...

Came here for my first time today, and it was great! Free to come and hang by the pool. If you occupied a table, you do have to order food or drinks. The Float is the place to go when in Galveston. We have been going there for over 10 years for the Greatest food and Drinks. The owner is so cool and friendly. All waiters and waitresses have always gone above and beyond. One waitress that stands out is Faith. We met her three years ago, and when weve gone back, she is there, and treats us as VIPs. We love her, and to the owner and all staff, great food, great drinks, and keep up the great service! See you in August/September. Roger and Mary Great place. Good food and drink at a great price. Highly recommend.

Ive never been here during the peak hours for the pool bar atmosphere, but I have been here twice for lunch now and it is fantastic! The food is fresh made and is a bargain. Had a cocktail with my meal and it was well made too. We brought our kids in with us and they really liked the atmosphere (kids allowed before 2p.m.). Sneak in here before the party and enjoy a nice meal with the family!

How did we live 2 years without eating here? Their food is delicious & very reasonably priced! My hubs loves their burger. Their chicken quesadillas are delicious! The portion is large enough for my daughter & I to share. My favorite is their fish tacos, verdes style. It comes with black beans & and rice, which are surprisingly so good. The fish is fresh & always cooked well. Their red salsa & chips is delicious and spicy. Theri queso is just okay. Fried pickles are goos. On Thursdays ONLY, they have crawfish eggrolls which are AMAZING! Cool vibe & gulf views. They offer great drink and food specials. I believe kids are okay to hang until 2p. They have a heated pool outside, but we have yet to check it out. Definitely recommend!

Very fun vibe. Just what you would expect from a restaurant/bar with a pool! Great views. Most of all, fantastic food at great prices. So, my first time coming to Galveston, I wanted to stop by here so bad. We didnt have time. The second time in Galveston we finally made it. And the only thing I can say about this place is what in the world? Such a cool idea, a poolside bar, but executed so poorly. My husband waited at the bar for a total of 20 minutes for my mixed drink that was SO watered down, so gross. So many people came in, didnt get served, and just left. The kitchen closes way early and it seems they let half their staff go once the kitchen is closed because it took forever to get someone to just look our way while we waited at the bar. Great location though, nice view of the pier.

Food was extremely well executed, perfectly cooked. So even the fried bar food was at the best it could be. Fun environment, but servers are very distracted and wait too many tables, so you might have a lot of waiting to do, and may have a lot of confusion about whats happening. Overall a good experience as the servers were super nice, just overworked. Would go again, however would recommend beer, as their mixed drinks (margarita, b-mama) were almost undrinkable.

What a fun place!!!! I imagined hanging out here for a drink and then heading over to the beach. My fiancé and I had so much fun though, that we decided to just stay! Went to check out the Monday muchies basket and catch a drink while on vacay. The bartender was rude and on her phone alot. Tables were dirty and sticky. The time they stopped serving food was not posted online or at least not easily seen! 8pm grill was a no go. The frozen margarita was no good. The view on the other hand was okay seaside with a road between you. Pleasure pier in eye view. Great bar and restaurant. Love the friend Shrimp. Love Chri Glenn and Mark Gonzales. Mark is an epic manager. Chris is amazing. I wish Yagas was run as well because we love supporting this own and his team.

This place is very nice facing Galveston Bay. The afternoon bartenders were 2 nice and very friendly people who spoke Spanish. They made us some good drinks and my wife was the most grateful for making Hurricane. Its bar, although small but attractive. The outside has a wading pool. And surrounded by a 2-story Deck. The view is incredible. They prepared us 2 small but very delicious burgers. They have a good variety of beers.

Its just another bar except Im sure in the summer it is a lot of fun because there is a pull right next to the bar I went during February
