rating: 4.6

The NSHOF's new home in Frisco comes after not having a home for seven years, with the previous home located in Oneonta, NY from 1979-2010. It was officially recognized as the NSHOF by U.S. Soccer in 1983. The NSHOF Experience is a 19,350-square foot segment of the NSHOF that honors the past, while fully incorporating modern technology of the present and future including virtual reality, gesture technology and interactive digital video boards throughout to celebrate the players, veterans and builders of American soccer that have elevated the sport to where it is today. It features interactive exhibits, iconic soccer memorabilia and serves as the home for Hall of Fame induction ceremonies annually.

Disappointing Experience at the Soccer Hall of Fame We recently visited the Soccer Hall of Fame, and while the exhibits were impressive and we enjoyed the history of the sport, our visit ended on a disappointing note. It was around 4:45 PM, and my child was excited to get a personalized jersey as a special souvenir. However, we were told that the printer had been turned off for the day, and they wouldn t be able to print any jerseys. We were advised to come back another day, which was quite disappointing, especially for a young fan who was looking forward to the experience. We understand that things wind down towards the end of the day, but we were well within business hours. It would have been great if they could have accommodated us or at least had the printer available until closing time. A bit more flexibility or communication would have made the visit much more memorable. Hopefully, they can improve their customer service, especially when it comes to creating a special experience for kids who look up to their soccer heroes.

Very cool! We went on a Wednesday and only paid $5 each (we bought our tickets ahead of time). The museum has some very cool interactive parts and the experience is personalized to you (your knowledge of soccer, favorite teams, etc). Definitely worth a visit. Make sure you go to the area to overlook the field. There was a fun trivia element as well as the trophy case!

We had relatives from another state and needed an activity we could do with the three kids (ages 11-7) for a couple of hours before meeting up with the rest of the group. When every day is at, or almost 100° it gets tricky. This was the perfect activity to be inside, but learn a number of things. The 11 year old in our group is in soccer, so this was definitely his jam, but the other two, while excited by his enthusiasm, were not sure how much fun they would have. Two big busses of kids were just leaving, so timing was great. After you pay your fee, they have you create a profile (this is optional), taking a photo and giving an email. What this does is as you go through the museum the interactive activities recognize you, and for some activities, you can have a photo of yourself sent to your email. An example is, near the end, they have various moments in the history of soccer you get to place yourself in. Back to making the museum more interactive even if you are not a huge soccer fan, for the kids, they gave us a list of things to look for: dates; names on cereal boxes; certain trophies; the mode of transportation one of the teams used to get to a specific event, etc. This in itself made us pay more attention to the displays we may have been tempted to walk by without much attention paid. There are employees/docents close by to answer questions, or help with the various activities throughout the museum. They have interactive: virtual skills drills; VR activities, such as being a goalie; a chance to create a custom scarf with your name and colors/designs on a computer which projects them on a screen; and the aforementioned moment in soccer history you can be in, and the ability to see the stadium through the huge windows between it and the museum. If you need to occasionally sit while others peruse the displays, there is 306733 look out the glass walls onto the stadium. You go at your own pace, and it is different than many museums as it is basically a large room divided by the display cases, with helpful folks at the ready, and the end takes you through the gift shop. We all enjoyed the experience, learned more about the history of the game, the various players, places, and techniques. We were all very pleased we decided to fit this experience in. We will keep this in mind for future, things to do when we have visitors, or others ask for something to do with local ties. The displays were easy enough for even the youngest to read some of the info (except for harder names/places). We imagine on a very busy day some of the interactive activities will take longer, so if you have the lead time, you may want to check ahead as to times, or days which would be lighter.

Enjoying a soccer tournament in the area and excited to see the Soccer Hall of Fame right here in Frisco, TX! Stumbled on it by chance while glancing a map of the Frisco area. A very nice history of the wonderful game with memorabilia and photos throughout the venue. Plenty of interactive things to do which makes this Hof fun for all ages. The staff were very friendly and there to help. A soccer gift shop is attached selling jerseys and other soccer items and the Toyota Stadium (home of FC Dallas) is housed here! A beautiful view of the stadium can be seen from the inside of the Hall of Fame. Again, a nice hour or so, learning more about the wonderful game of soccer all while escaping the TX heat if just for a little while.... absolutely a win in our travels.

I attended a school function provided by the Stream FC staff. The audio was horrible. Not one person thought to make changes to ensure the kids could hear them. Literally not one kid paid attention because they could not hear you. I also cannot believe that we attended a field trip to a SOCCER hall of fame and the activies in the movement lab, did not allow for the kids to kick a single soccer ball! they were out there, available in the cage and instead we played weird shirt snatching games. I see the good this program can be but, it needs serious help. 6th graders are not going to sit in a classroom on a field trip and try to order 1000 hotdogs for pretend, and be excited about it. Please work out these kinks because I know this can be great.

I enjoyed seeing the trophies, old shin guards and uniforms, as I m really interested in soccer. There are interactive stations but they can stand to be improved. You can build a dream team but it ends there. You should be able to go head to head with another team in a video game or something like that. I recommend it for serious soccer fans if your in the area. I wouldn t plan a long trip to get here though.

Always a great time whether at an FC Dallas game or to take a tour of the high tech Hall of Fame. In the Hall of Fame, make sure to register your name and profile upon entry because that is used for a personalized experience throughout the museum/Hall of Fame. My three favorite areas are the green screen area where you can create funny pictures of you with various players in situations. The next is where you can create your own soccer jersey and last thing is the Virtual reality section where you can immerse yourself in games. Play goalie and stop shots! The shooting on goal in the penalty kicks can be a little frustrating if you dont do the kicking motion properly. In the large room that overlooks the FC Dallas field, do not miss looking down at the floor to see the glasses in boxes of memorabilia. Also, this area is great on game days. Here is a photo from the recent Star Wars night at FC Dallas taken in the Hall of Fame building.

The National Soccer Hall of Fame in Frisco is an excellent destination for soccer enthusiasts. The museums displays are informative and well-presented, providing visitors with an in-depth understanding of the history and significance of soccer in the United States. The displays feature a range of artifacts, including jerseys, photographs, and memorabilia, which bring the history of soccer to life. One of the standout features of the museum is its interactive displays. These displays allow visitors to learn about the game of soccer in a hands-on way, which can be particularly engaging for children. The displays cover a range of topics, including the rules of the game, the history of soccer in the United States, and the careers of some of the countrys most successful soccer players. Overall, if you are a fan of soccer or sports history in general, the National Soccer Hall of Fame in Frisco is a must-visit destination. The museums informative displays and interactive exhibits offer a unique and engaging perspective on the history of soccer in the United States.

Totally cool and immersive museum! This is a great place for soccer (football/futbol) fans and family. Only thing I would say is that it seems a tad bit small. Other than that, worth it to go!

Awesome time! Super friendly and helpful staff. I took my husband for our date day as a very very avid lifetime soccer player and fan he was impressed with the set up and exhibits. The gift shop was nice but wish there were more jerseys to choose from. I wanted a Wombach jersey and went there just for that but they didnt have one not did they have any personalized jerseys from USA players. Gift shop could definitely use more merchandise. Thats the only reason for the 4 stars. Clean bathrooms, great parking, fun at a great price!
