Came here because of reviews. Worst thing going for them is food quality. Salsa is bland and food was middle of the road. Getting seated and served was super fast. Food came out quick and hot and drink service was on point. Definitely a decent place to grab a bite but the 5 star reviews made it sound much tastier than other local options. Definitely stop by for a quick bite and a cocktail, just dont expect top teir food.

Waiter added to tip on multiple credit cards after we left the restaurant for lunch. We called the restaurant and informed the manager Jeff, who never called us back. We called Citi to reported fraud as the manager never called us back and Citi refunded us the amount. Sad, I have grown up eating Tupinamba and loved the food but I no longer trust the ethics of the staff at the restaurant to dine here again. I recommend using cash when eating here.

The best Mexican food in Frisco. Their Tupys tacos are made from fresh shells fried at the time of order, and the taco meat is awesome. Their wings are the best! The whole family loves them. Cheese enchiladas are also great, and we cant for the margaritas!

My first time visiting Tupy s, I always heard it was good so now I able to try it for myself. The Puff taco was good and so was everything on my plate lol, the beef enchilada the tamale, and my taco was delicious. My wife had the Fajita cheese enchilada and me Fajita was really seasoned and cook to perfection. I ll definitely be back.

Let me preface this by saying in the last 10 years, we have been to restaurants in Scotland, Mexico, San Francisco, L.A., Napa, all over Colorado and New Mexico, Utah, Washington State, etc. Our service at Tupys was the best Ive had in ANY restaurants in the last several years. I wish I could remember the servers name. He was a gentlemen in his late 50s, maybe early 60s. Very professional, attentive, and nice. Never once had to ask for anything. The food was also the best of its kind in DFW. Wait time was minimal. The kids had zero complaints. Prices were great for the quality of food and service, and the other patrons were classy. This is our new favorite restaurant for family date nights.

There are so many good things about this restaurant that I don t really know where to begin. Their servers are extremely nice and welcoming, and they always have a happy mood. The atmosphere is great, but I wish they would change the music, because it gets a little annoying after they play the same rhythm/beat for 30 minutes. You don t really pay attention to it since they bring your food pretty fast and you will be too busy eating to notice. The food is amazing, I ve never had better Tex-Mex anywhere. They have a lot of options on the menu which all taste great. The last time I went I tried pescado bravo and it was really good, not really a lot of spice but it still tasted good. Parking: It is often packed but you can usually find spots right next to Tupy s actual parking lot on really busy days.

The best Mexican restaurant in Frisco. We always order Aggie specials, with an extra Tupy taco. That Tupy taco is the best. The bartender on Saturday nights is amazing. We always get top shelf margaritas on the rocks and they re always great! Friday and Saturday nights are very busy and there is sometimes a long wait. But the experience is amazing. If you re in Frisco, this is the place to stop for lunch or dinner!

We are new to this restaurant, have gone 4 times now and I dont understand the reviews about the chips, service and food ! The service has been attentive and cordial each time. The chips are great, the food is flavorful and delicious! The tupy fried taco is a must have! The restaurant and food are more of an authentic traditional Hispanic taste, not a tex-mex flavor.. The food was good it nothing to write home about. The service was subpar, but we were there on a Friday evening, and there was a table of obnoxious women right beside us that made the whole experience mediocre at best. The servers did their best to accommodate everyone, but there was a LOT of dead time where drinks and chips/salsa were empty. I think the servers were overloaded and did their best to service everyone and keep the peace, but the drunk ladies were over the top. Overall, a pleasant experience for a weeknight, or even a weekend early experience.

I ll caveat my review by saying the food is excellent. We ve never had a problem with the quality of the food and it is some of our favorite Tex-Mex in the area. And I ll also caveat my 3-star review by saying it has nothing to do with the waitstaff but everything to do with their communication. I find it rather annoying that if you try to call on a Friday night, good luck on getting anyone to answer. It would be nice to call and see how long the wait is before devoting 20 minutes to drive there. And from my dealings with and seeing other folks dealings with the owner/manager, he just doesn t care about the customer. I challenge him to say otherwise. He has been incredibly rude to me and I ve seen him be incredibly rude to others. But he s laughing it off with a full restaurant all the time. He s in it for the money and not the service to his faithful clients.

This is a hidden gem in Frisco! When we attempted to order take out for dinner, they mentioned there s no to go at night due to how busy they are. A few days later we decided to have lunch there and, I now understand why they don t do take out at night. the food is spectacular, we had a lunch special which out of this world. Sunday dinner evening was a letdown. Server not interested in taking care of guests, I felt that he would rather not be there, which makes me wonder why I chose to have dinner there. First time dining experience here. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was good, however, the waiting lobby felt too small, and it took a while to get a table. It seems like the restaurant is split in 2, but I suppose each place has their own unique set up. This place is always packed and they dont take reservations using Open Table. So make sure you get there early. I recommend the West Texas Stacked Enchiladas, and the Ruby Tupy cocktail.

We have been here a couple of times. First time was a 5 experience. Last night was not. First the food is excellent, the decor expected and the service is decent. We found ourselves and everyone else out to dinner after a couple of frozen days inside. I knew there would be a wait. That wasnt the problem. The issue came when we tried to walk to the bar to get a drink while we wait. The hostess was quite rude, actually shut the door to the bar on my husband, and told us to stay in the lobby someone would come out to take orders. So we wait. We see someone bringing drinks to the other 30 people crammed in the lobby. But no one offers to take our order. So after about 20 minutes I ask if we can place a drink order to a waiter passing by. We did get them finally after about another 15 minutes (and the bills were messed up with another couple). While we were waiting for the drinks another couple also spoke of the rudeness of the hostess as well. As we watched she would literally chase down anyone who tried to open the bar door to go order. They also had a hostess helper just standing a wiping off menus. What they should have done with an hour long wait in this scenario: Greet hostess, get placed on wait list, hostess asks if you want to place a drink order whole you wait (she already has a name and phone #). The helper can run the order to the bar, and voila...everyone is happy without shutting doors on people, being rude, or chasing down waiters. We did finally get seated and we ate. Again the food and drinks are very good here. I had no fork for some reason, and asked two people. It never got one. So I ate with my spoon instead. It was a packed house beyond normal. Texans dont dont well with ice for three days and no TexMex food. I will go back, but hopefully on a less high demand evening.

You must not need my business too badly! I called to see if you could accommodate up to 13 people and you did say you had a semi private area. When I asked other questions about possibly arriving at five and having a drink in the bar, you indicated that would probably not work, but that I should come by and look at it and talk with the manager. I asked if the manager could call me and you said that would really not be possible and that I would just have to come by. I had told you that I did not live remotely close and that between now and Thursday I would not be able to come by. You basically hung up on me! I understand if you cannot accommodate 13 people arriving near same time, but I cannot understand the rudeness and lack of consideration of what I was saying. I have lived in Dallas since 1964 and I have followed Tupinamba everywhere it has been. Since I don t live in Frisco, I have not been to this location. Went to have dinner here with my 9yr old daughter. The service was fast. The food was very delicious. The kids steak fajita was super flavorful and not spicy. First of the queso is $8 for some microwaved velveta cheese, the beans are salted to hell, waiter will come 2 times during your visit, the manager is very rude. We asked him to explain to us why the queso is $8 he shoves the menu in my friend s face (the waiter just offered us the queso didn t even see it on the menu), when I asked him to take it off he says I m sorry??? With an attitude, I said to take it off because it was gross, he sighs and snatches back the receipts. No I apologize no sorry you didn t enjoy . All around horrible place, do not come here if looking for actual Mexican!

Food was so gross and had no flavor, beans were over salted. Queso which is probably from a can and that s about it was $9. Waiter doesn t attend to you if you aren t white. Manager was rude when we asked to take the god awful queso off the bill. Never ever coming back to this place and telling all friends and family to stay away from this establishment. Absolutely horrible!

Good food! Really good food. A lot of flies indoors and one landed on my food. My server replaced the meal. By that time, I was literally tire of fighting off the flies but hey, the flies found the food to be as good as I thought it was, I guess. Parking: Great parking area. Lots of parking available. They do get busy though.

It all starts with the salsa... Fantastic flavor with a touch of heat! Thats how you know if a restaurant is worthwhile. The guiso is my go-to plate now. The stew meat is tender and tasty, and the enchilada has my favorite Tex-Mex chili con carne sauce. This place is a great place if you need your Tex-Mex fix!

No soup for you!! ring a bell? First let me say the service from the serving and bussing staff is 100% stellar, every time. The food is by far my absolute favorite Tex Mex in DFW, and their rocks margaritas I love to the ends of the earth. But when it comes to the faces of the restaurant - the owner Jeff AND his wife Lisa - gird your loins, people. The attitude, complete disregard for customer service, and not even luke-warm greeting is something to be expected at this point. I have frequented Tupy s for the last 8 years and though I ve become used to the cold reception, it s from the moment we re seated onward that receives the four stars. Should the owners check the attitude at the door? Easy 5. But once you get past the gate keepers, it s worth it every time.
