We are regulars of this place - in my opinion, they have some of the best sushi in dfw. The California roll, shrimp tempura roll, and korokke are phenomenal. The service is also great, Anna is a pleasure and they are so nice.

I went for a birthday with a friend. I was pleasantly surprised by the myriad of sushi options available. I tried so many different seafood, and I can tell the quality is top notch that without any sauces and seasoning their was still plenty of flavor with the fish. Pricing for what it is was quite reasonable, and I believe they do specials on certain rolls. The atmosphere was relaxing. You have the option of. Ive been to many sushi restaurants, but this place has the best tasting sushi Ive ever had! I love the sushi bento here, especially when its lunch as they have a lunch special deal. They also serve cold soba noodles if youve ever wanted to try those. Overall, very tasty place for sushi and japanese food.

Im very upset about the service I received when I picked up my to go order. I ordered on DoorDash at 1053 am. They allowed me to schedule an order to pick up for a later time as the business was closed. No problem! The earliest my order would be ready would be at 1130 am. I got a notification around 1115 am that my order was ready. As I went inside, an older woman gave me my order and proceeded to scold me saying you order too early, next time order after we open. I said I wasnt expecting my order to be ready at 1130 am though. If youre not ready to take orders then have your online services shut off till you open. Sushi was fine. But my husbands teriyaki salmon and daughters chicken katsu was very overcooked.

Good: This is a gem of a place for good quality sushi on this side of town. I did the Sushi Bento lunch special that came with 5 sushi pieces. The sushi pieces tasted fresh and didn t have an odor. The sushi had a good tender texture to it (not chewy and not dried like it was sitting out), except the yellowtail that was slightly dry. The tempura that came with the bento was a good assortment. The salad was fresh and I liked that the dressing was sweet but not overly sweet. The rice with the sushi pieces came with maybe soy sauce already mixed into the rice so if you have an allergy to soy sauce be sure to mention confirm this. Decor was nice and felt upscale. You can definitely bring a date. For improvement: This may not be something the restaurant can control but it was nice to see that I could pay online myself at the table. The check had a website URL to pay but it was a complex URL with upper and lower case letters for the unique check. It would have been nice to have a QR code to just scan that would take me directly to the link so I wouldn t have to enter the whole URL. Not a big deal. I was going to pay online but then I decided against it with the URL so I just gave my cc to the server to run. Bad: Nothing bad to report. Parking: Easy to get parking

We live nearby so have been coming here often because theyre friendly and the food tastes great. Leaving a review because my wife catered food from them for my birthday and we were all impressed by the quality and service. The owner wanted to give us free dessert and actually drove over to our house to drop it off. Leftovers were still tasty the next day even. Thank you so much to the chef and staff! Recommend the golden bridge roll especially. And were regular fans of their lunch specials.

The tempura shrimp and vegetables were pretty good. Our fried roll was NOT fresh. Oddly it seemed to have been fried earlier and sliced for us. The outside was soft and the rice wash just a mush wrapping. The spicy tuna was the highlight but couldn t make up for terrible toro pieces.

What a delightful experience! My husband and I sat at the sushi bar, and sampled several things from the robata menu, sushi rolls and sashimi. Everything was exquisite. The presentation was refined and beautiful, and anything hot was HOT. (Get the sake steamed mussels and the Hamachi. I mean GET THOSE. Delicious!) We found this cute sushi restaurant on the way to a splash pad ( for our kids) and it was a win! We had so many different things and it was pretty good! I came here for lunch and I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box. It was huge! I assumed the portion size would be small because it was for lunch, but I was pleasantly surprised. I also tried their chicken yakitori, while it wasnt as good as the teriyaki, it was still great. My mom got the house salad with carrot ginger miso dressing and 2 orders of the spicy tuna roll. She loved them both. I also got the hot tea and it happened to be green tea, which is my favorite. The staff was super nice and attentive and the atmosphere was super unique. Angie was our server and she was great! My husband and I used to live in Japan and this is probably one of our favorite spots by far. Especially for the price! I feel like you pay so much money for sushi in other restaurants that arent as good. Very filling Special Sushi Rolls for the price you get! Theyre happy hour prices are great too, you get a good deal here for the quality. We ate the Geisha Roll, Ninja Roll, Preston Roll, and Heavens Door Roll (which uses fresh wasabi). We are raw fish lovers, so these were perfect for us.

I work at a busy doctors office and decided to order for lunch with a coworker. Their pricing on Grubhub was incorrect and we assumed they would change it and the restaurant and just charge our card but they didn t. And when I called to ask about the issue the lady that answered the phone was so rude. And didn t offer any apology. She just accused us of not paying even though the charges were correct on their systems receipt. Not only that but one of the orders that we did get was not correct. They gave me a raw sushi roll when i ordered 2 cooked rolls. Safe to say I will never be giving them any business.

We ordered the yellowtail, salmon, Otoro sushi and 2 rolls --Autumn and mama mia roll. The sushi was extremely fresh. The owner Kevin was extremely friendly and welcoming. After Sushi Lover (Ohio/121) closed earlier last year, there was a void in the upper echelons of sushi in the area. Plenty of quality places, but nothing that was superb. Enter Imura. I couldnt wait to try it, even walking in a week early because they forgot to lock the door during city inspections! ;-) Ive never been disappointed. I really hope they are able to stay open as the location itself, while on Preston, close to Main, is easily missed. The staff is always wonderful and welcoming, even going out of their way to remember certain allergies one might have and can often fulfill my order from memory. The finishes in the restaurant are very nice mixing casual and elegance...theyre even able to do mood lighting with dimmers. But...the food, right? Really what matters is the food. The sushi and menu is thorough and AMAZING. I didnt think Id ever find satisfaction in this market after the aforementioned Sushi Lover, but Imura is as good with a wider menu, better atmosphere, and amazing service. I am doing my best to keep this place open on my own and I hope others who love it will join in and go as often as their budget will allow. Speaking of budget, because any sushi worth eating is pricier than a burger, this week I saw they introduced a M-Th BUY 1 ROLL GET 1 FREE (all day) deal and half price happy hour just before 6:30. Very thankful for this entry into the sushi market here in the far north Dallas area.

***CROSS POSTED FROM MY YELP REVIEW*** SUMMARY: Amazing experience at Imura! The food was superb, the service outstanding, the well-designed atmosphere...I could go on and on! Well make the 35 minute drive to Frisco to dine here again :) Note: We talked a bit w/ the owner who said that the restaurant was opened by him and his partner in Aug 2023. Also, their chef is from Japan, which explains how good the food was on the night we visited. BACKGROUND: We were in Frisco to take care of business and the wife wanted sushi for dinner. Frisco is well-known for its steadily growing number of great sushi spots, but we just wanted something good and close. Imura amongst others came up, but I remember good things were said on Asian Grub DFW so off we went. FOOD In a word, fantastic. Wife ordered her sushi and I ordered tempura since I was in a cooked Japanese meal mood. Plus, I do judge a Japanese restaurant by how well it does tempura, since its not easy. The sushi dinner she ordered was something else! Really great quality and she was gushing about it when she was eating it. She even let me try one of her scallops to validate what she was feeling about the quality. She was not wrong :) As for my tempura, I was equally impressed. Nice, light colored, crispy as all heck and NOT over done. The pasta corn mayo salad was unique and delicious. Oh, we also ordered our go-to appetizer, the Agedashi tofu. It was near perfect. It couldve been cooked a wee bit more, but the radish garnish and sauce made up for it. The salad dressing on the fresh salad was excellent as was the complimentary chicken skweres the owner provided for us since it was our first visit. Because we drove from quite a distance, he also was kind enough to provide us with mochi ice cream. ATMOSPHERE The place is spotless and well-thought out. Very clean. And the bathroom as spotles as well. RETURN VISIT? Its not close but well be out in Frisco almost every weekend for business reasons. Well continue to visit Imura when were out there! Imura has high quality Japanese food and incredible service. All across the board this restaurant is amazing and we will definitely be back! Went here with friends on Friday 6pm new years weekend. This should have been their best food and best service. It was easy to make a reservation and they accommodated the 6 of us plus one child. We ordered one chicken karaage, two tempura, and one takoyaki to start, the chicken was overcooked. The tempura was ok, veggies were fresh, the shrimp was old, not fresh. The Takoyaki, which is supposed to have octopus in it, was a big fried ball of mushy mayo, nobody finished it. Then we all ordered different dishes of both sushi and robata. Wife and I had the chirashi bowl, it came with one slice of 6 fish, one was cooked and it was awful, we figured they cooked it to hide the fact that it was likely a week old, one was seared, but it had a green sheen on one side so you could tell it was several days old, the only thing fresh was the scallop, we tried but did not eat the rice, it was dry and tough. We also ordered a lovely roll, which is a $19 specialty roll, one would expect the fish to imitation crab ratio to be better for the specialty roll, but our poor piece of fish was the size of the smaller regular roll that our friends ordered, the rest of the roll was imitation crab, and it was supposed to be topped with tuna, it was the thinnest toughest slice of tuna Ive seen in my life. We also ordered the mugifuji pork robata, probably the only real edible thing we had. Our friends ordered regular rolls of white tuna, yellowtail, and eel, they were not super fresh and the use of brown rice is extremely strange, plus it was dry, which relates to it being old. They also ordered an eel bowl, this had regular white rice, and grilled eel, the eel was not fresh and they did not finish it. For robata they ordered the cod and mackerel, the mackerel was overcooked, tough and dry, which relates to the fish not being fresh, if fish is fresh they would not try to cook the smell out. The cod was not memorable, but seemed to be cooked ok. Overall for 6 people plus a child we spent $350, at a 5 star sushi place it could be expected, but when nothing is fresh we were sorely disappointed. Service was friendly and the place is new so no complaints on that, but for one of the best nights for meeting with friends at a restaurant, this restaurant was a complete fail.

What a fantastic place! Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. This place is so well put together and run how all restaurants should be! The owner gave us a free plate of the most delicious pork ever! Straight from Japan and ridiculously good. This is one of the best restaurant experiences I ve had in I don t know how long? This place came highly recommended from my husband s coworkers, but we did not have a good experience. Started with pork gyoza which was easily the best thing we had, the sashimi (white fish) and 2 rolls we tried (tiena & autumn) were extremely chewy and tasteless. I m not one to prefer my sushi doused in sauce, but these needed some kind of flavor/seasoning to save them especially with how off the texture of the fish and even rice was. Also WAY too much imitation crab in everything. Our server was kind, but difficult to understand. We expressed that we didn t care for it after she noticed we weren t eating much. $80 later and I m still hungry. Needless to say we will not be back. We will stick with our tried and true favorite - Oishii in plano, which I highly recommend!

Delightful dinner! From start to finish, the meal was great. Our table of 4 loved the variety of Japanese options. If one person in your party is craving sushi but everyone else wants udon or robata (skewered grilled items), this place will satisfy everyone. Our food was delivered quickly and with no issues. The hot green tea was a table favorite as well. Only small critique was that our server seemed flustered with their ordering device and walked away from our table a few times mid-order to do something with the device. But outside of that, she was great and provided speedy service. Awesome Japanese restaurant that you have to try!!

First off the service is amazing. This is a family owned restaurant and they treat you like family. The owner Ken is so kind. The food here is also top notch. The robata here is so good and the quality of the meat can be tasted. We had the chicken, steak, and pork robata. The steak was so good I couldn t get a photo before a piece was already eaten. The sushi is also great. They use unbleached rice for all their rolls so don t be surprised when the rolls are not bright white. Enjoy the food here.

I came here for lunch a couple days ago. I really enjoyed my meal. They had the roll I absolutely LOVE and will be my new place to come to get that roll. It was fresh too. The servers seemed to be learning the menu or electronic system when we ordered. Everything was clean and the place looks beautiful. Was quiet and a small bar area. Service was quick and often checking in. Started with miso soup...Was very good. Had shrimp tempura with vegetables. Also very good and shrimp were piping hot. Yummy. Asked for a CA roll, but with real crab. That created a little confusion, but they did it with a reasonable upcharge. Sticky rice on the roll was a little different and the only reason for a 4 vs 5. I will go back. Owner also introduced himself and was very friendly!! Oh, they have great lunch options, including bento boxes.

Had dinner with mom. Nice place. Well designed. Out server was attentive and knowledgeable. Asked us lots of questions and made sure we were comfortable. We got a mix of items. My mom s not the biggest fan of raw fish so we tried a lot of cooked items. Looking forward to coming back and trying the sushi. I recommend getting the pickles. It s a nice addition to sushi and works as a palette cleanser better than ginger. We also had the tuna tower, fried oysters, salmon kama, and chicken karage. All were great. Any one of them would be a good addition for when you order all sushi. Trust me, get ine of them to complement your sushi. Its crazy how some of the best places can be right in your own community, and youd never know it. Discovered this place while visiting the breakfast spot (Cracked & Crepe) right next to it and decided I needed to add it to my Want To Visit places. All I can say is that as a Japanese/Sushi aficionado. This is one of the best Sushi/Robata restaurants in the DFW! All the fish was amazingly fresh, with flavors that reminded me of eating in Osaka. They have a great selection of everything from appetizers, soups & salads, noodles, rice dishes, sushi (sashimi, nigiri, makis, rolls) and a great selection of robata (cooked dishes). The service was outstanding and the servers, the manager and the chefs were all very hospitable. Definitely, my new favorite Sushi restaurant and without a doubt will be a regular here!

Dined in for dinner at 5pm on a Friday and it wasnt busy at first so it was good since we had 4 kids with us. All the items we tried were fresh and had great flavor. There were so many options across appetizers, sushi, noodles, robata. The kids had many options too and even the 3 year old was pleased. The mochi at the end of the meal was divine! Highly recommend for food, atmosphere, and cleanliness. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian tempura, robata veg options like mushrooms and peppers, inari. Parking: Plenty of parking. Kid-friendliness: We had a baby, 3 year old, 5 year old, and 15 year old with us and they all enjoyed. The baby ate our own food we brought, but there was a high chair available.

I just got back from Tokyo, and I gotta say, this made me feel the same vibes. Things were done VERY well here. We had a roll, the chicken katsu, a tonkatsu, some fried tofu, a salad, a curry dish, and some chicken skewers. And honestly, they do their chicken amazingly well. The meat was tender and well seasoned. This is a place Id very much like to try again. Frisco has shown itself to be a place of surprisingly good eats pretty consistently, and this place definitely didnt disappoint.

New place in Frisco that is worth the visit. If you enjoy high quality nigiris, yakitori and robata, this is the place! We ordered 6-7 different types of sushi/nigiris and they all were very fresh, perfect temperature and extra soft to the mouth (the fish melted in your mouth like butter). We tried almost every robata dish and we highly recommend their shrimp, Japanese scallops and pork - they are a must to try. Service very friendly. Place is clean/new, nice decor. Walked in on a Monday evening and had some amazing sushi rolls, piping hot shrimp and vegetable tempura, amazing seaweed salad and delicious gyozas! The ambiance is lovely and beautiful lighting and very cozy seating. The service was outstanding, Angie was sweet, helpful and very attentive. Do yourself a favor and try their authentic sushi. This was the first place Ive been to that served real Wasabi. This is going to be one of my favorite restaurants, I already know. I recommend getting the croquettes to start! Red Dragon Roll and Heavens Door Roll for the fresh Wasabi. The rice and vinegar they use feel high quality, as a sushi lover you can taste the difference. The Owners were also very kind and greeted us at our table!

Had a date night here this last Thursday (9/7) and was very impressed with the food and the service. We were greeted by all the servers and sushi chefs greeting us with the traditional welcome Irasshaimase! . Angie took fantastic care of us, and was super friendly and had a big smile on her face the whole time I love servers like her. Having lived in Japan, we felt the food was pretty authentic, and the chef was even Japanese which was great. We had Miso soup, deep fried pork gyoza and Yakitori to start with, both delicious/authentic, and my biggest test for a Japanese place is how they cool their Chicken Katsu, which was as close to a Saboten Katsu that I ve found around here. It was super thick white chicken breast and breaded very well/crispy my new favorite place to get Katsu (usually local restaurants make it super thin). We also tried the a bunch of sushi varieties, like 2 pieces each of Salmon and Fatty Tuna (Toro), Vegas Roll, Preston Roll and a deep fried Spicy Tuna Roll. The salmon and fatty tuna were super fresh and melted in your mouth will definitely get again next time. The Vegas roll was the best of the deep fried rolls, and would get again. Will be back for sure, as Imura is our new favorite Japanese restaurant in DFW.
