We went to Zhao Star for lunch and we had an amazing experience. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and the food was so good and flavorful. We got the sesame chicken, chicken lo mein, dumplings, and. Combo meal. I like the robot that brought us drinks and food, it really added to the atmosphere. I will definitely come back here the next time I m in Frisco.

Easily the most flavorful fried rice Ive had around here. Didnt need to add sauce or anything. Only downside is that the beef could have been a bit more tender, but the chicken and shrimp was perfect. The gentlemen I spoke with inside were also incredibly nice, like kinder than Ive come to expect these days. Told me it was going to be just a slightly longer wait than expected and offered me a water while I waited. I will absolutely be back for more, and to try other dishes!

First off, bok choy should not be chopped in a side dish. Secondly, the dumplings were served on what looked like a taco plate, so any chili oil would drip right off the plate onto the table. Dumplings were bland. The salt and pepper chicken was okay, a bit bland, and served on membrane (not a bed) of chopped onion (sauteed) and chopped bok choy. It was mediocre compared to other restaurants within 10 miles. The stomach cramps and possible mild food poisoning is what wont bring me back. Perhaps this shopping center is cursed?

The Best Chinese restaurant in Frisco . We had a great experience of dining at this restaurant a few times now and they never disappoint. The service is excellent by super friendly staff. They do not cut corners on anything. Generous portions with all the condiments and delicious and freshly prepared food every single time. Very nicely decorated for family friendly dining. And the Robot Server is a treat to watch Must go if you like Chinese food.

This place is really phenomenal. Grace and the staff were very attentive and nice. The decor is really pretty and my favorite part was the cute robot who brought us our order. (It sings a song!!) The spring roll and dumplings are super tasty and I absolutely loved my honey sesame chicken. It was a great experience and I am so excited to come back again!!

Waited a very long time, food came out barely warm not sure why I got different service then other patrons did, everything was different from the glasses that we got to the robotic service tray, we got none of that service. The lady that was in the kitchen had on the same blue gloves in the kitchen that she did taking orders and touching everything out front. When the check finally arrived the prices were higher than what was listed on the menu they provided. Will not be back or recommend to anyone I know.

Food was cold after waiting far too long, and the restaurant was not busy at all, there was only one other table seated and eating when we arrived. We waited for over 30 minutes to receive our food and watched three tables that arrived more than 20 minutes after us receive their food within three minutes of us and we could see the steam coming off their food. We were never checked on and were sitting next to the kitchen where the entire staff had to walk past us to do anything. Will definitely not be back, the food wasn t anything to brag about.

This place was wonderful. We went on a Saturday afternoon. The owner was there taking care of everyone and ensuring everything was perfect. They have the best hot and sour soup. Usually, you dont get the right blend of sour, and it ends up being more hot. Not here. It was perfect. I had their honey walnut prawns while my friend had seaseme balls and cashew chicken. If you have a gluten allergy, they have several dishes. Dont forget to buy some of their homemade chili sauce to take home. Its phenomenal! We will he going back frequently. First of all, the decor and atmosphere here - elegant, I love it. Second, staff were super friendly and attentive. Third, OMG the food was delicious!!! I got the Beijing beef with noodles and my coworker got the mapo tofu. The beef was prefectly cooked and so tender, the onions and leeks had that delicious char taste. *chefs kiss* The mapo was firm but not overly so, sauced nicely, though not spicy (is it supposed to be? ). I loved the quality, service, and my food. I had Mu Shu Beef and hot tea. They brought out a Spring roll as I waited for dinner. The tea was good. The waitress was attentive. I did not have to ask for more water or tea, but received both. The Mu Shu was good, and the plum sauce was not overpowering. I ordered another dish to go. Zhao was a really good experience, from the time that I walked in until the time that I walked out, until I finished the meal. -Atmosphere was wonderful nice and cozy inside. It s not a large establishment but it has space and they have a little cute robot that helps bring the orders to the tables. -Staff was AMAZING everyone had a smile and talked and created you. If one personal wasn t available the other communicated about the order. So no one was confused or not aware of who was there and what they ordered (mine was to go). The young lady was very knowledgeable and helpful with the menu and made it easy for me to make a clear selection just by asking me a few questions. -Food was very FRESH! I ordered the Kids chicken fried rice with extra spring onion, The combination Lo Mein with chicken and beef, Beef with broccoli and the small egg drop soup! Every dish was fresh made to order, seasoning was perfect balance. The combination Lo Mein was a little dry but I don t think I requested any sauce so make sure you ask questions about that. The food at this restaurant was amazing. They accommodated eight people including myself. The flavors of the dishes are not too strong nor too weak. The staff members were also VERY nice to us and they helped us throughout our dinner. I had a spicy chicken Lo Mein and my god it was flavorful. It wasnt overly spicy it had just the right amount of spice. Overall 9/10 experience. I would definitely recommend this for any family gathering.

Came Monday our first time for Dinner. Close by our Frisco Lakes home. Greeted pleasantly by young woman. Waitress made recommendation for soft foods. We enjoyed the comp egg rolls D ordered a second. I had hot fresh tasty Egg drop soup. We split the Crazy steamed dumplings and chicken Lo Mein all were good, flavorful and not Salty. I found out about this diner by accident, I am from Ukraine and Ive never been to the United States. On August 2nd, someone made a $300 internet purchase at this place by stealing money from my bank card. Unfortunately, I have no idea who this person was, neither do I know whether my money will ever be returned. This is a large amount for me, as much as for anybody else from Ukraine. Please configure your payment system so that suspicious payments do not go through. Im sure your kitchen is great, but Im really annoyed that someone just ate through my monthly salary at your place.

Tried this place out for takeout at the recommendation of a friend. If I compare Zhao to the other Chinese takeout spots in Frisco, I would say they re one of the best. Fresh food, good flavors, not mind-blowing but definitely a good place to buy from again and again. Spring rolls were not as crispy as I like but tasty. Egg drop soup was pretty good, but a little on the bland side. Orange chicken was excellent. Lightly breaded and fried. Deep, flavorful sauce. Spicy was 1/5, not as hot as we expected. Probably one of the best orange chickens in Frisco! Chicken lo mein: light, not greasy like most places, but a little heavy on the black pepper flavor. Overall the orange chicken was the best dish. This place is definitely worth a try if you commute by or live near it!

If I could give zero stars, I would. Im really shocked at how horrible the service was. I can understand that this is Chinese New Year, but they only had two people working tables and two cooks. We called ahead and made a reservation as well. When we arrived, the restaurant wasnt even full and we still waited for almost an hour for 2 of our 3 entrees to come out. After asking multiple times about the last dish after chasing the waiter around for chopsticks, we were told different things about the missing dish. After asking multiple times, they mentioned a shrimp dish which was not what we ordered. We continued waiting and were full off of the other dishes, so we ended up cancelling the third dish. Your younger male waiter also needs training. We also asked if the fried rice that came out was fried or brown rice, and he responds I dont know, I didnt make it. The only thing that came fast tonight was the check - actually we were brought the check twice by both people. My husband, daughter, and I were sitting at one table and next thing you know the first check arrived and the waiter asked if we were splitting. To the guy next to us who snickered, youre about to get the same service lol. Pretty ridiculous after watching to go order after to go order come out in entirety. Its disappointing because we really wanted to support this local business especially other Chinese in this community. The ma po tofu was good and the kung pow as well, but the service was atrocious.

Dined-in at this small but very comfortable Chinese restaurant gem. Service was attentive and quick and included tableside delivery by a robot waiter. Dont worry though, a human followed quickly behind. Appetizers included Egg Drop soup, Zhaos Crazy Dumplings and Scallion Pancakes. All were outstanding. Dinner included Chicken Egg Foo Young, Orange Peel Beef, and Zhaos Braised Duck. Food quality was excellent throughout.

This is a small intimate restaurant with a robot that brings you your food! The orange peel chicken was sooooo good!! The shrimp fried rice and sesame were my 2nd favorites. They give you an egg roll on the house. The fried dumplings were also good and they had good sauces.The service was great! My 2 complaints are the portion sizes are small and the lo mein was not cooked long enough and had a funny taste. I will definitely be back whenever Im in the area, I just wont order the noodles again.
