The best Louisiana food that I ve had in DFW. It seems like everyone throws something Cajun in the title or description to gain customers and then we try it and we re disappointed. Louisiana food will have you not liking food anywhere else lol. But Mud Bugs is a place you can get some good food. Shout out to JP. My favorite is the fried catfish and shrimp & grits. I ve tried the boudin balls, crawfish dip, chicken & sausage gumbo. I didn t care for the shrimp pasta. I did see a review mentioning hair in the food; I believe it, as there has been hair in my food before. Staff swapped it out without an issue. I would encourage staff to incorporate stricter procedures. I love all the Louisiana decor. They have a Ragin Cajun flag hanging, which you usually don t see

Food was really good! Our server was excellent! My concern is that no name brand teas or sodas are available and the small dining space, we were a group of 12 ladies and it was tight, but they made it work and we throughly enjoyed our luncheon fellowship! Thank you for accommodating us! Parking: Strip mall parking with limited handicap spaces!

We got the fried pickles, ravioli with cheese sauce, po boy combo that came with shrimp, and gumbo and fries on the side. The deep fried dishes were perfectly crisp and not a drop of greasiness anywhere. It was so well cooked and seasoned. Everything was delicious! Service was excellent. Love seeing neighborhood spots doing great eats. Vegetarian options: Fried pickles, fried ravioli

Crawfish Po-boy is fantastic every time! The crawfish is plentiful and cooked just right. Some place fry them too long and they are tough. The remoulade is the perfect dressing on the bread. BTW The oysters on the half shell are great when they have them. Unfortunately it is not oyster season now. Sometimes there can be a wait if you go during prime dinner time.

The host/waiter was attentive and pleasant. It was 11AM on Saturday. We started with Boudin Nachos (Absolutely Delicious). The cheese was gooey and the chips were sturdy to hold all the toppings!! I had the Boudin Burger with fries. My husband had Crawfish Pasta and loved it. I did get the Praline Cheesecake To-Go and GLAD I did....Yummy! We will definitely try this place again and order something different.

They were so good, I wanted some the next day but waited too late to place my order, theyre closed on Monday. But today I knew what I wanted ....or thought I wanted for dinner today (Tuesday). I ordered 10lbs to go. Got them home, they looked delicious but they were extremely salty. I couldnt eat them. I am sooooo disappointed, I doubt Ill be back anytime soon.

On April 21, 2024, a group of church members and I visited your establishment for lunch. Unfortunately, we experienced a lack of welcoming service and attentiveness from the staff member who attended to us that day. Despite the sole server on duty being unhelpful in providing drinks and condiments, her demeanor was particularly discourteous and dismissive. It was concerning to observe differential treatment based on race, as she appeared more accommodating towards another couple seated nearby. This behavior suggests potential racial bias which is unacceptable in any professional setting. Numerous complaints about this employee have been raised with you in the past, indicating a pattern of detrimental impact on customer satisfaction and loyalty. Furthermore, we had informed the server of our intention to return in the evening with guests for crawfish. Regrettably, upon arriving at 6:25 pm after a 45-minute drive, we discovered that the restaurant was closed despite being assured otherwise by the same staff member earlier in the day. This misinformation further compounded our negative experience. While we appreciate the quality of your crawfish offerings, it is imperative that immediate action be taken to address these service shortcomings and remove individuals who do not uphold inclusive values within Mud Bugs restaurant. We urge you to consider hiring additional supportive staff members who exhibit friendliness and respect towards all patrons regardless of their background. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Food was amazing. Crawfish was perfectly seasoned in mixed sizes from large to small. Catfish atchafalaya was crispy with a well seasoned breading and smothered in some étouffée! Beignets were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with powdered sugar (comes hot). Only thing I did not like was the sweet tea, tastes like it s made with some honey and not the usual sweet tea.

5+ star for food 3 or less for service. The wait is not bad but ince you sit down it takes a really long time to get service, order and anything else like refills etc... Great place that was too small to start off with, Im sure if they added staff in their busy times it would go much smoother. Finally got a chance to eat here because each attempt they were too busy, which is definitely a good sign. But 2hrs from beginning to end with two little ones is a little much especially since it takes minutes to actually eat, the rest of the time was spend on occupying my little ones. Still loved it. Been coming here for years and its a great Cajun place

My husband and I went to Mudbugs Bar & Grill to have dinner. As we were entering the door, a white male with a beard stopped us and stated Imma have to stop you right there. Back up! . As we stepped back, he then stated We re full and there s a wait. How many in your party? It ll be a 35 minute wait . My husband told him no thanks and we left. We never entered the restaurant or even had a chance to taste the food. My husband spoke to the manager and explained to her what happened. We doubt anything will be done for his unprofessional conduct since there s others who have left reviews about the same person. I mean, who does this guy thinks he is? A bouncer? That s what it seemed like for us when we tried to enter the business. The owner should FIRE this guy, he s ruining this company s reputation. I NEVER want to go back there. Please take your hard earned money elsewhere to eat.

My wife and I decided to eat at Mudbugs Bar & Grill on a Friday afternoon. We ve lived in the area for years and have never been. Reviews seemed good for the food and we decided to try it for the first time. When we saw people waiting outside, we expected to wait. As I open the door for my wife to go inside, a heavier set white male with a beard stepped in front of us and stated I mma need to stop you right there. Back up! . At the moment, we were thinking something was happening inside. Once we step back outside, the male stated We re full and there s a wait. How many in your party? It ll be a 35 minute wait . At this point, my wife and I look at each other and say no thanks. I called the restaurant s main number and spoke to the manager Stephanie to explain what happened. She apologized and agreed that the employee was disrespectful. I hope the owner sees this post and takes corrective action on said employee. He was unprofessional, disrespectful, and has damaged this restaurant s reputation. No one should be treated like that, truly uncalled for.

What a fool I am for Cajun food. Cajun jambalaya was okay but really salty. Plus served with saltine crackers, why? Minus one point. Im a Creole jambalaya person. I traveled to this restaurant for takeout hoping to get some good eats after being back from vacation in New Orleans for two weeks. The food was so good in NOLA that I wanted to keep it going. Mudbugs for me was just ok because the dish I ordered was too salty (pasta with sausage and shrimp) that I couldn t eat all of it. I love salt so if I can t eat it it s way too salty. However, the wait staff was very pleasant, the establishment is small with. NOLA decor flare and there is a bar! I will give Mudbugs another chance, but I m keeping my fingers crossed they won t be so heavy handed on the next thing I try.

First time checking out Mudbugs, and the family and I absolutely loved it. Food and service were outstanding. Honestly, the fried shrimp from the po-boy and kids menu were the best Ive ever tasted; perfectly cooked and the batter was light and delicious. My son (6) ate a plate full, and nothing pleases me more than watching him try new food and love it! As a first-timer, I wanted a variety so we tried the sampler (pictured). The chowder and etoufee were a massive hit. I had grilled catfish with etoufee topping (pictured). My wife is excited to go back for brunch and try all the delicious options and bottomless mimosas. Well definitely be going back to Mudbugs and including it to our regular rotation of favorites in the area. Kid-friendliness: There is a limited kids menu available. The shrimps are soooo good. I exercised the dad tax on my kids very heavily haha.

This is a great cajun restaurant and I have had spectacular food every single time starting back when they first opened. I almost didn t want to give them a review because I wanted to keep this place a secret, but their food is too good and everyone needs to know. Go enjoy because their boiled crawfish is as good as it gets!

As is the case around this time of year, we craved good Cajun food and hoping to find great ettouffe. We have mixed emotions about the food offerings. Ettouffe was good but too much rue base and overly salty as was the 3-Cheese Crawfish dip appetizer. However, We will return for another slice of the delicious Dawns Bourbon Bread Pudding desert.

My wife was in the mood for seafood so we Googled what was nearby and we definitely didnt want fast-food. This place was amazing, not a big place but we got seated pretty quick, staff and service was great, food was amazing...I wish we had known about this place sooner!! I ordered the Slap Ya Mama Pasta (shrimp (theyre very generous with their portions)) -- and oh my goodness, not too spicy but just right. Also, got the Bread Pudding and oh my was it amazing, so amazing we ordered a second one to go. Well definitely be back and will tell our friends and family about this hidden gem.

First time and definitely will not be my last. Had so many good items on the menu, have to come back to try more. I ended up getting the boiled shrimp with potatos and corn. Great flavor, I might be a wimp when it comes to spicy, but I feel it was spicy. Still so good! My mom got the corn cowder and cornbread of course I gave it try, also very good! Cant wait to come back!

Where is my tartar sauce?! Understaffed. Cajun pasta not cajuny. Chicken was mushy... Fried catfish was mediocre. Should probably order crawfish, jambalaya, or etouffe if you are reading this.

From a Louisiana native, their gumbo is on point! So good, I got a bowl to go. Crawfish is done right, not with all that weird sauce on top but it could be a bit spicier. Overall, great spot for Louisiana folks. Abita beer, yummy bread pudding, the decor, I love it!

Found a cajun restaurant I would recommend after living in DFW for over 20 years. Its a small place, but the food is on point! The only thing we had that was disappointing was the dirty rice. Cant wait to go back and try more things. I regret not taking any pictures, but I will update this review next trip.
