Late lunch. Got the Chicago Jumbo dog which did not disappoint. Looked and tasted true to name. A little too heaving handed on the salt / seasoning but very tasty. The 1/2 LB burger was ordered naked with everything on the side. (Tops on the side). It was cooked well done and accepting that the salt shaker was a little heavy handed, that s just preference and in hindsight I ll order no salt. The burger was tasty and the bun was fresh and correctly toasted. Will definitely order again. The deep dish pizza served next to us looked very good but not Chicago Style. Background music was perfect 60 s - 70 s rock and pop. Loved the tunes.

The Best Italian Beef Sandwich South of Chicago! And their Chicago Style Hot Dog was the best hotdog, I ve ever had. Great spot, very cool Chicago themed decor, and great service! This is a family owned operation and they treat you like family. They have a wide variety of menu items, so it s great for families, lots of kid friendly choices. I didn t get a chance to try their hamburgers but I ve heard they re really incredible. Can t wait to go back!

I m so confused about the food. First time trying this place. Paid $13 for their big beef sandwich to go. When I ordered, I was not given and info or suggestion from the cashier on part of the sandwich. When I got home, I found out that their big beef sandwich is literally meat and bread. Just meat and bread. No ingredients what so ever. No cheese. No veggies. No condiments. Just meat and bread. They give you a side of au jus to dip the meat and bread in. Mind you, for $13, you don t even get any sides. No fries. Not even a pickle. Maybe this is a Chicago thing? I don t know, but I just don t get how you can send someone home with a stack of roast beef in a bread roll and expect that to be a thing someone would enjoy. I may give them a shot again because the inside is a great spot to be and hang out with the kiddos. Might have to try a hotdog instead. Looks like they actually have toppings on the dogs.

Service was okay. Food I personally wasnt too happy with just didnt have much flavor to it. Though I was told the pizza is the best thing on the menu. I personally got the loaded fries, which were honestly just bland, and I was not happy about it. I got their signature hotdog, and it was better than the fries, but I dont see myself going there again based on that. The atmosphere was really good, there was live music, and the place itself looked appealing.

I recently visited a local hot dog joint, and I have to say, its one of the best in town! The service was friendly and efficient, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The food itself was fantastic. The hot dogs were flavorful and cooked to perfection. I also tried the corn dog, which had a perfect balance of crispiness and taste. A standout item on their menu was the Dika Street Style Dog. It was packed with great spices that added a unique and delicious twist. The chili cheese dog was another highlight, with a rich, savory chili and plenty of melted cheese. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a top-notch hot dog experience.

My second trip and first review... Ive been doing this a lot lately when it comes to reviews. Im a foodie and I like to try more than a couple of items before I make a final assessment. My first trip to Chicago Ave Hot Dogs I had The Ditka Traditional Polish Sausage and it was amazing! Spot on! Probably the best Ive had in Texas. I also had the Chicago Hot Dog all the way and it didnt disappoint! The fries were made fresh to order and not overly salty. While I was there I noticed they had pizza both thin and deep dish. I have not had good deep dish pizza since my last trip to Chicago. This leads me to my second trip to Chicago Ave. On my second trip I ordered the deep dish pizza with Italian sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, and black olives. Over all the pizza was ok. It had good crust and texture. Pizza had plenty of cheese and ingredients. The only thing that I did not like (and this is my fault for not asking) was the sauce. The sauce was on the sweet side. Some people like it, but unfortunately I dont. (This is my problem with Ginos East and why I prefer Giordanos) if youre a fan of sweet sauce this is perfect for you. Im not saying that the pizza is terrible because its not. Its a really good pie Im just not a fan of sauce thats on the sweeter side. The service is great and attentive. All orders are made to order so please be patient because it can take some time getting your order out. I will definitely be back because Ive yet to try to the Italian beef or the chili cheese dogs. Cant wait for my next trip!

Then pickles were soggy and cheese on the fries was room temp at best. Food was OK. Jumbo dog was not longer, just thicker dog I guess. Not sure if that was normal size dog or jumbo, Standard bun. Then guy calling food acted annoyed I asked for metal fork. Disappointed wanted it to be good.

Checked out this place this evening. This place is absolutely terrible. The laughable plastic ware will absolutely chew up the ridiculous paper plates that they give you by your 2nd slice. Their deep dish is not a deep dish that you would commonly expect, infact ours was done in 20-30 minutes and had clearly undercooked places. Its a thicker pan pizza at best, however even in the misrepresented category, its substandard. The Italian beef wasnt any better since its their interpretation of one. Others may enjoy this place possibly, but with terrible service, overpriced menu and substandard food, its a mark and avoid here.

Updated: They have really turned around since they opened. They now offer live music and the food quality has really increased. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They are much better than the big box competitor! My old review was just them working out the kinks in their new business. We visit the location monthly and have never had a bad experience since our first visit. Dan Old Review: We tried Chicago Avenue HotDogs today 3/31/2022 for the first time and the food is really amazing! The beef sandwich is my favorite thing we tried but everything was really tasty. Now my 3 star rating is because Im giving them a bit of slack since they are still in a soft opening stage. They dont have a full menu yet because they didnt have salads, ribs, or chicken sandwiches to sell yet. Im hoping that is a short term thing and they will come in soon. If I rated on this experience, I would give them a 1 star. It took over 50 minutes to receive our food. Well, thats because it was dinner time and they allowed someone to order 30 sandwiches in one order. So, that backed the entire kitchen up for almost an hour. When you are in a soft opening mode and you cant handle that size of an order you need to simply tell them that you cant do that right now. Doing that might have made them mad but surely they would understand. Instead, you took that order and made the 15-20 orders that were backed up over 50 minutes mad that they had to wait so long for their food. The kitchen was trying to crank out the orders but it just wasnt happening in a timely manner. Another major issue is the soda fountain is behind the counter where they call out the orders. So not only did we have to wait 50 minutes for our food but we were thirsty the entire time also until I asked for them. The drinks need to be self serve in the dining room so you arent using an employees time to serve drinks. The other concern is the disorganization of the entire operation. They had kids behind the counter helping out but I dont think they are fully staffed yet. Also they had two cashiers standing up from talking for the entire 50 minutes we waited for food while the trash was overflowing, tables not cleaned, etc. Im hoping this gets resolved as they get in to a rhythm. That said, Im going to give it a few months before I go back to let them actually fully open. Hopefully I can move them up to a 5 star if things improve. But the food was so good Im going to give them a 2nd chance.

My wife and I love this place! The owners are two of the kindest people you ll ever meet and the food is incredible. The Italian Beef is the best you ll find outside of Chicago, and could hold its own in the city as well. There s nothing on the menu we ve tried that we haven t liked. Great variety, but my favorites are the Chicago staples. No one around does them better

Fantastic food and service. The Chicago hot dog and Italian Beef were very authentic. My son had the breaded chicken sandwich and that was great as well. The owner took our order and was very welcoming. The decor in the restaurant had a great variety of Chicago related items too. Its a bit of a drive for us, but well definitely be back. Well worth the drive.

My names Rob I called them wanting to order a Chicago deep dish pizza cause I ve never had one but the dough wasn t done resting or proofing or something which peaked my interest but the thin crust pizza dough was ready so I got me a pepperoni and it WAS the best pizza I ve ever had! I m not a connoisseur but the sauce that they told me they make in house is crazy good. This guy Rick had an issue with the pizza oven so I had a small delay an he was trying to give me free soda or beer or whatever I wanted but I declined. Place looks amazing can t wait to go back for that Chicago deep dish.

Today I had a half rack of ribs, and the spicy mozzarella sticks lol. Delicious fall off the bone ribs and side sauces of sweet baby rays, ya can t go wrong. Jamie was so kind to stop by my table and we had a great chat about our families and how time flies. Rick, Jamie and the rest of the family are awesome and have an absolute one of a kind restaurant. I can t wait to see what the future holds for these great folks! God bless! Trey

The ratio of sauce, cheese, and toppings was perfect. We also tried a meatball and a schnitzel thanks to the owner, Rick. You can tell how much he cares about the quality of his food. Both were amazing. Ill definitely be ordering the schnitzel again. The tangy slaw against the fried chicken, was perfection!

I discovered Chicago Ave HotDogs mid-January and took home to my husband the Maxwell Street polish sausage and onion rings. He had me go back the next night on my way home and bring him the Ditka Traditional Polish Sausage and since then he has developed weekly cravings for them. SuperBowl Sunday my mother passed away and after we left her nursing home we needed something to eat. Chicago Ave HotDogs was around the corner and the 10 of us showed up to a closed establishment. The owner Rick noticed us and waved us in, he was still in the process of closing but for only 10 people he opened his doors and proceeded to feed us. He showed a spirit of genuine hospitality not found much in todays world. He didnt make a lot of money that night and truth be known, probably didnt break even. But his spirit of generosity coupled with compassion makes him a rare find. I hope people read this review and give him the support he needs to build a business that can continue to help him thrive to support his loving family. Oh and the food is great, something for everyone!

Shout out to Rick the owner. Thank you, thank you, thank you for what you did for my family yesterday. This was super bowl Sunday, My entire family arrived to find they were closing early. Rick said he couldnt sleep if he turned us away. He fired the kitchen back up and treated our whole family to amazing pizza, dogs, and drinks. What a way to go way beyond in hospitality. We will be back often for your fantastic Chicago style food! Oh side note, love the hanging model planes.

So glad we did, he brought us out a cup and it was soooooo good! Like really good! There was fresh lemon pieces in it and it was so soft. Rick, we will definitely be back!!! Atmosphere: fun. First time here . The Italian Beef is only a roast beef until you pay extra for peppers!! Normally, Chicago Italian beef slow cooks in mild-hot peppers all day. Peppers are not a condiment for a plain beef sandwich! It s part of the dish. I said ok to mozzarella in the beef and they tossed some ice cold shredded mozzarella onto the beef. Seriously ? These folks need some Chicago good lessons. .. I never rely on one visit I am hopeful for a second try-/ my wife s sausage sandwich was ok.

I was once a fan of your restaurant but after what I witnessed today I dont think I will return. First off, your male chef on the grill went from wiping the counter with a dish rag, to handling raw chicken with NO GLOVES and then handling other foods and not once did he wash his hands!!! Your female cook, while she did have on gloves, she was walking around handling food and touching things and then proceeded to stick her finger in a pot that was boiling on the stove with said gloves! It was disgusting! AND my sandwich was NOT toasted like I asked for!! So disappointed!!!

Born and raised in Chicago for the first 34 years of my life, you can say I am pretty familiar with this kind of establishment. So when another Chicagoian told me about this place I was excited, but that soon changed. First off this place is almost hidden , the atmosphere was whatever you want it to be. The food was not as good as I remember. Definitely a huge disappointment, and not worth almost $13.00 or my gas to drive there. Double cheeseburger was cooked well done, was very dry, needed more mayo to help it out, didn t have enough cheese and the bun was small and seemed stale. Needless to say, I probably won t go back!

Im not the biggest fan of hotdogs, however my family quite enjoys them, and they say these are one of the better ones theyve had Chicago style. I did have the steak sandwich, which was quite good, almost close to amazing, however I would have preferred it if it was a little more medium rare as opposed to medium well, maybe next time Ill ask. As for service, it was appropriately timed and I could tell everything was made on the spot, but it wasnt overly enthusiastic or friendly if thats something you are fond of like me. The atmosphere is quite nice, with many Chicago relevant decorations adorning the place. Overall I guess its a good experience to have in Frisco for someone who occasionally enjoys a Chicago dog.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chicago Avenue Hotdogs in Frisco, Texas, and I couldnt be more thrilled to leave a glowing 5-star review. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. First and foremost, the service at Chicago Avenue Hotdogs was outstanding. The staff were not only attentive but also genuinely friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and had everything we needed. Their warm and accommodating attitude truly added to the overall dining experience. Now, lets talk about the food it was excellent. The hotdogs were absolutely delicious, prepared with care and attention to detail. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and the quality of the ingredients was evident. Its clear that the team at Chicago Avenue Hotdogs takes great pride in their culinary creations. The environment of the restaurant was equally impressive. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. Whether youre looking for a quick bite or a leisurely dining experience, this place has it all. The cleanliness and well-maintained interior further added to the overall positive ambiance. I must also highlight Rick, the owner. He is one of the nicest folks Ive had the pleasure of meeting in a while. His passion for his restaurant and dedication to customer satisfaction were evident in every interaction. Ricks warm personality made us feel like valued guests, and he took the time to chat with us, ensuring our visit was memorable. In conclusion, I highly recommend Chicago Avenue Hotdogs to anyone in the Frisco, Texas area or passing through. Incredibly delicious. Far better than any other Chicago style foods in the area. The only problem is both times I ve been here, the wait for food is around 35 and 40 min for two hotdogs. This is without there being very many people there. Hopefully they can speed up their production time, because this place will hit big if so.
