Great food and a WONDERFUL staff! When leaving, I forgot my dental retainers on the table, which were accidentally thrown away when the table was bussed, but the amazing staff took the time and energy to find, locate, and return them to me! Will definitely continue to dine at such a fine establishment!

Cute little place it gave me such a small town vibe when I walked in it reminded me of the tex mex place wed go to growing up in the middle of nowhere before coming to houston. But the margs are ok theyre good I didnt eat so I cant speak on the food but one thing ill say if you like a good bar this isnt really that - they have a tiny little bar in the corner that seats like maybe 8 people max . it looks like a bar someone would like install in their house if they wanted one. But the service was good it was a good stop. Definitely would come back.

Went to Barcenas on Pearland Pkwy today for lunch and had the carnitas enchiladas off the lunch menu. I wanted to try something new and glad I did! They were so delicious and charro beans and rice were very flavorful. My mom had the chicken enchiladas, my nephew had the summer special and my SIN had the beef quesadillas. Everyone was very happy with the food and service.

I rented out their party room back in March and did not have the best experience. First I was told that a happy birthday sign would be put up on their billboard and that was not done. Then when we arrived for the party they told me they had to turn the lights on upstairs which took a little while and turns out they had to clean the area because they had employees eating up there. Everyone arrived for my party and we had to keep asking the workers when the food would be ready (we thought it would be ready when the party started). It ended up taking them over an hour for the food to be ready and it ended up still being cold. I would maybe consider coming back here for a meal but I would definitely never host a party here again.

Went for dinner/ happy hour and everything was good. The drinks were good, the mix was a little sweet for my taste but still enjoyable especially with my grand Marnier floater on top. The bartender was very helpful and friendly... I had chicken fajitas and had plenty to bring home. The tortillas were homemade ( I love authentic tortillas, and Im super picky about them), the chicken was flavorful, and the grilled onions added a good touch...My mom had the enchiladas trio. She wasnt impressed with the shredded chicken enchilada, but loved the other ones... Also, the salsa, both red and green were very flavorful (Im a stickler for good salsa)...

Didnt love it, didnt hate it. Its like what white people cook when they cook Mexican food. Food quality was pretty fair, especially for the price. The server seemed irritated with us that we didnt know what we wanted, but wed never been and the menu was huge. There were a lot of big parties there so the atmosphere was kind of fun. Dont really know what it would have been like on a week-night. We went on Saturday. So I would go back, but it wouldnt be my very first choice.

Came here on a Friday night for dinner. I ordered an enchilada dinner and my husband ordered the Taxco plate. Salsa and chips are awesome!! Whatever cheese they use for the cheese enchiladas is too hard, it s not melted, I literally have to mash the enchilada to make it easy to chew. My husband had one on his plate too and felt the same. He has to rush to eat the tostada and taco because the shell is just too thin, not crispy at all it turns mushy. He also told them to not put a lot of lettuce and as you can see they still did. Borracho beans are just not good and the rice is plain. Waiter was really nice and kept our chips and salsa filled and our drinks. This is our second time coming here, I just think with the prices they charge it does not live up to it.

I dined in and after I ate my food the waiter brought me my ticket and my total was 31$ I had 34$ on the card I chose to pay with ! Anyway he came back and said it declined ok so I added more money on the card 7 more this place took out 37 and some change from my card for a 31 meal ripped me off and when I tried to ask for a manger the lady was very rude ! I ve been coming here for years. The prices have sky rocketed, as they should due to the economy, but in my opinion just a little too high for so so good food. Kids meals no longer come with a drink. It s now $2.75 for a kids drink. I ordered a kids beef fajita quesadilla plate. When we got our food my child received an adults beef fajita quesadilla plate. My waiter wasn t the one who brought us our food but she kept walking past us so fast that I couldn t even grab her attention. Finally I got her attention and a few minutes later another gentleman brought out a side of rice and beans. When I got my check I was charged for the adults plate. I flag the gentleman down and let him know what happened and he said oh but you ordered rice and beans so that s extra. I grabbed the kids menu and showed him where it stated kids plates come with rice and beans. He then said oh but you got the guacamole, and sour cream with it. I said that s not my fault, yall sent that with the adults plate that I did NOT order. He says let me see I ll be back, comes back and puts the receipt on the table and says ok ma am we fixed the ticket, it was a $4.05 difference, then he grabs on my arm while laughing a little and says it s ok don t worry ma am, sorry about that. I didn t feel comfortable with someone touching me I don t know. Not only that but they still charged me extra for the side of the guac and sour cream garnish. The adult plate was $14.99, the kids plate was $9.50, a $5.49 difference. So I paid and an additional $1.50. On top of everything my other daughter ordered the chicken strip plate and the ketchup was watery and the chicken strips were soft with no flavor. She took two bites and pushed the plate away. The waiter saw she didn t eat it and never acknowledged it. She wanted to try something else but the way the waiter was making me feel like I was someone trying to get something for free, and I am absolutely not like that, but that s how I felt. At this point I was so frustrated I just paid for everything and left. Sad to say I don t think I will return.

My review is only for one item that was ordered to go. Asked for caldo de pollo, but received tortilla soup. Was disappointed because I wanted the veggies in a caldo (broth). The tortilla soup had none. A tinted, sodium watered soup with shredded chicken. The only garnish was the little bits of tortilla strips. No cheese, corn, or beans you usually see in tortilla soup. The side of rice was just ok. Wish they would have told me they do not make caldo de pollo. Wont say Ill never give them another try. Since I went under the weather and didnt check the items before leaving. But when you dont get what you ordered and the item you do receive, taste nasty it makes you think twice.

Been here a couple times, food is Id say 90% authentic. Growing up eating nothing but authentic Mexican food cooked by my mother, its very difficult to find great / authentic Mexican food. But definitely recommend Barcenas, make sure you know what you order though, it bothers me to hear people order the basics all the time like fajitas, nachos, har shell tacos etc. Be brave and try something new, ask Tempe waitress/waiter what they recommend or order from the specialties menu. Dont forget to get yourself a cold beer, goes great with good food always. Parking: Always free and plenty of room to park. Wheelchair accessibility: No steps, flat and straight entrance. Very accommodating.

Update: Went again with my son. I ordered the breakfast Machacado burrito. $14 and very bland. Just ground beef and egg. No seasoning . Very average. Good service but standard mexican food. I use to like coming here for some Meicam fare but just came and it missed the mark. We had Menudo and a chorizo plate. The flavors were missing from the dish and well the Chrizo plate had more egg than chorizo. Its a bit pricey when all you get is beans and no potatoes. We did get a side of potatoes but sub par. For the value and the food quality - its middle of the road. Its ok but just ok. Sad because service is good. Atomosphere is a bit old school.

Have been there multiple times and usually get the enchilada or the burrito or the fajita platter, this time I got the individual Nacho platter, was not very impressed with that. I came to change my review. So the first times, I had gone was for breakfast. And while I would have wanted a different result I didnt have it for breakfast... service and atmosphere are good. Service fabulous and atmosphere clean and tidy. However, my son wanted to go for dinner to celebrate an achievement. I didnt want too since I didnt love their breakfast, but it was his choice. Well, was I taken back! He ordered this tampiquena with cheese and maybe chorizo. Wow! I mean it was delicious... 2nd time, my bf door dashed a meal and I kept on saying how good his fajitas and rice and beans where. Well, it ended up being from Barcenas! We have been there 4 times already for lunch/dinner. I very much prefer this version of their food vs their breakfast. I may try their breakfast one more time, but for now changing my review from the 3 to a solid 5 after trying their lunch and dinner menu. Ty for reaching out, but we are now faithful customers of ur venue. But I will give bf another try :)

Everything was amazing! Red sauce is one of my favorite things about mexican food and Im a bit snobby about it. All I can say is, its absolutely delicious!! We ordered chicken enchiladas and beef fajitas. Both plates were yummy! We will DEFINITELY be going back.

We visited Barceans for the first time this past weekend. I had the Las Campanitas, and my Wife had the Stuffed Avocado with fajita meat. The food was absolutely declicious and the Staff were fantastic! The pricing was very good in my opinion.

Nice hardworking people very welcoming. But I will say the plates have a lot of room to improve. Overpriced plates and when they bring the food out they are near empty plates. Food is okay but also have a lot of room to improve. Maybe add melting cheese in the chimichanga so when u cut it open the meat won t come out and go everywhere? Idk. And the portions very small for near $16.

We absolutely loved everything about this place! The food was amazing. The staff was so nice and attentive. My daughter got the kids mini chimis but she didnt really care for them, lol kids, our server was so great he immediately grabbed them and asked what else shed like and brought her a quesadilla so fast! She liked that and ended up eating all my chicken from my fajitas. I got the chicken, steak, and shrimp...AMAZING! My husband loved hisb2 crispy tacos and enchilada. My daughter and I also love Flan, get it every time its on a menu, and this did not disappoint! The margaritas were great and the beer cold, highly recommend this Mexican place over all others.
