I love the environment. Delicious apps and the Malibu Chicken as an entrée is my go to. Always great service. The Only discrepancy is consistency with the dishes. While always good, the same dish can be drastically different from visit to visit.

Exploding ketchup!!! This was my familys first and last visit to this restaurant. I reached for a bottle of ketchup on our table to put some on my sons appetizer plate, and the second I grabbed it, ketchup exploded all over us, the table, the windows, the walls, EVERYTHING! The waitress was apologetic and confirmed that, yes, they have been having a problem with that. And then a bus person came over to wipe the table and windows. However, we were NEVER approached by a manager or even an assistant manager with an apology, and nothing was comped or even discounted, even though we remained through our entire meal with ketchup on our hair, on our clothes (see the attached pic of my sons clothing), and all over our belongings. That type of customer service is appalling and disgraceful! Everyone should avoid this restaurant!

I got the $19 Crab Bowl. I asked for spicy but it had no seasoning at ALL. The waitress brought me some king of sauce G Sauce of something and lets just say it tasted like salad dressing. They tried to charge me for it and I had to ask the waitress to take it off the bill as she could clearly see I didnt eat it. If you dont like spicy or lack of seasoned food, then this is the spot for you.

My waiter seemed like he was on something and honestly idc but after waiting for our drinks and a bucket for about 40 min I hit up to speak to destined a manager which was do unprofessional. I pulled her to the side do my waiter wouldn t see us talking and mentioned to her to her we d been waiting for some time and the waiter was literally running around kept looking back by as if someone was chasing him. I told her I don t I just want our food and drinks, tell me why destine goes back to tell the waiter I said he was on drugs and he came to my table and confronted me about it, he was angry and Infront if my lil boy and family and people who were around us, how embarrassing. Mannn, whats happened Swamp Shack? First, the place isnt very clean today. We are here early. So, it should be clean. You have food on the walls and your paper towels you have on the tables have food prints on top where people are holding tearing off what they need. 2nd....quality of food today....not good. Shrimp and oysters for us and two side salads. Salad was a bit brown. You can do better. Service was great.

Sat for 9 minutes finally server came and we asked about a alcoholic drink and she said I know nothing about any drinks and then she asked if we had gotten the drink menu and walked off We later saw her standing around doing nothing The people sitting across from us told us Good Luck on getting service because we had the worst service. So we asked another server for help And she dismissed us so we decided to leave. We stopped with the host on the way out and told her what happened she and the other servers that were there just laughed at us and told us goodbye without even asking us what happened. This happened at your Bay Area location. Worst thing was that the host told us it was very busy earlier but not right now which we thought it would be great for us to get good service unfortunately not the case. We will not be coming back to eat here, not that you ll would care Nor will we be recommending your restaurant

Ive heard soo many people say good things about this place, me and my family decided to try it out, Dirty rice didnt even compare to fast food. Crawfish was overcooked and tiny. Flavor/seasoning was gross. Barely enjoyed my boudin balls. They were also tiny, but come with a big price. The restroom was soo nasty l walked in and turned around to leave.

Ok, the first time was amazing. The mushrooms were cooked to perfection. The seafood platter...Lord the shrimp and chicken pasta was everything. So we couldnt wait to go back. I posted the review and received a reply. My husband and I couldnt wait to go back all we talked about was the cheese mushrooms, which tasted beautiful like an Italian style.... So we went back last week and we decided to order the mushrooms again and try the Fruit of the Sea. Im sorry but the must have had another chef that day because The fruit of the Sea was looking like it came from quick sand and cooked in a jungle with no shrimp, no crab meat like the menu stated, plus the pochtrain or whatever the sauce name was taste like flour cream gravy train...no maam.. to top it off we had to cut the lobster with a knife because it was to tough to bite .....the Cheese mushrooms did not taste the same they had jalapenos in there look liked from a jar that been sitting since 1802, tried the crab fingers and the crab meat was over cooked with us just snacking on crust, the alligator eggs dam near took the rest of my back teeth out. That was just how hard they fried the bacon and scallops was like rubberbands.... This second experience was horrible and took away from me planning my daughter 25th birthday party next weekend there...... Lord Swap shack please call that first chef back who cooked on our first experience. Cause the second one lied on they resume or was mad as hell cooking. Overall, the server Hanna was great, she tried her best but we still have her a good tip, because she was not the one cooking. The bread was good and drinks stood ten toes down that was the only thing popping with our second experience. #Speaking the truth.

Not very good. Drinks are bland. I was excited about the crab fingers, but they were very tiny. I wanted to try the stuffed avocado, but it was sour? That was weird. ONLY FIRSTS IN 2024 brought us to Crazy Alan s Swamp Shack, which was pretty far away from home, but convenient to grab lunch after a soccer game before heading back. We entered with high expectations hoping for a seafood experience like no other and Swamp Shack did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the vibrant atmosphere and all the seafoody aromas hinted at the adventure that awaited us. We settled on the Fried Gator Bites, which I am 100% certain that these were the best gator bites I ve even eaten. Fried perfectly with just the right crunch, you seriously would have thought you were eating a chicken nugget, as the little hint of gaminess I ve gotten from gator in the past was not present. We also ordered fried pickles, probably not anything so Cajuny per se, but we love pickles and love fried food, so what a glorious combination. And again, I ve had fried pickles from the east to the west coasts, and these were fantastic. The thickness of the pickle slice is what set them apart, unlike the hamburger chips I ve had that most places deep fry, Swamp Shack s pickle was a nice hearty bite. But of course, the star of the show was undoubtedly the Ultimate Seafood Pot we ordered, which was filled with more food than we could handle. This was a masterpiece that left our taste buds dancing. And let s be honest, this experience is probably similar at every themed Cajun establishment, but we don t find ourselves craving crawfish and such as much as those native to these regions. However, the freshness of the seafood was ratheer surprising. The seafood selection in the pot was diverse and well prepared, from succulent shrimp to tender crab legs and so many flavorful crawfish (3lbs I think). The artful presentation, which also included potatoes, corn, mushrooms, Cajun seasoning, and butter, showcased Swamp Shacks commitment to quality and attention to detail. Yet, what really helped Swamp Shack stand out was the superior service provided to us by our server, Jia. She completely elevated this dining experience to new heights. Her energy, attentiveness, and genuine passion for providing us with exceptional service was evident throughout our visit. Her recommendations were spot-on, ensuring that everything we ordered was to our liking. Her efficiency, enthusiastic and friendly demeanor definitely added an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience. The manager Samantha also deserves a shoutout for her leadership and attention to making sure our visit was a satisfactory one. I always think it s a nice touch when the manager cares enough to come and check on patrons. And it s even better, when they want to genuinely have a conversation with you while you are enjoying your meal. Lastly, the ambiance at Swamp Shack is both lively and inviting, with rustic decor that complements the feel of the cuisine. I was here last year and had crawfish, and they were great! This year, not so much. I realize there was a shortage of crawfish, so the prices would be higher, and I was prepared to pay the higher prices. However, the crawfish werent very good, and there were quite a few that didnt have any meat in them. On the positive side, they were seasoned really well, and our waitress was very good. If there is another shortage next year, Ill stay away from the crawfish as there are other items on the menu that looked very appealing.

Boil was good we liked but some of the crawfish were bad like black and mushy so they couldnt be eaten. Mushrooms were delicious and plentiful, other addins were good too. The feast was okay- salad had slimy old cucumbers, not enough dressing and lettuce parts u dont eat in ur salad, gumbo was good ish couldnt find any okra and kinda heavy, friend catfish & shrimp was good- lacking dipping sauce. We stopped in yesterday looking forward to our first visit to Alans Swamp Shack. Never again, service was horrible, slow & very lackluster at best. We ordered two drinks and one bowl of chowder & chicken and sausage gumbo, but were very disappointed. After almost 25 minutes of waiting my girlfriend got up and asked the bartender to plz check on our order, we would have asked our server but he never came back to check on our table. The food magically appeared after the bartender looked into it, the server did check on us a couple minutes later, saying we just had shift change and the kitchen misplaced our ticket I said it was just two bowls of soup, why did it take over twenty minutes to scoop it out of the steam table ? No reply Both of us have been in the service industry for over 45 years, yes we understand reasons, things happen and so on. Dont blame the kitchen staff, stay on top of your tables & orders. Im a very firm beleiver in the M.O.D., G.M., floor manager always table touches a table to check on food, address any issues or just to say thanks for coming in it goes along way. Also each shift manager should have a quick preshift with F.O.H. & B O.H. to address any issues i.e. staff shortage, food issues and so forth. I hope this and many other comments are taken seriously, we all love our Cajun food just take pride in what you serve. Thank you, just two customers that care. I forgot to mention the corn chowder & chicken & sausage gumbo, taste it to make sure is on point and to Alans Swamp Shacks standards. Update - As you can see, the owner passive aggressively tried to respond. While some restaurants choose not to honor specials on Holidays, some such as my establishments choose to do so because that is what we promised our guests. The fact that you had to take time to note my reviews of other establishments only seems self serving at this point. Yes I do voice my opinion when service is lacking or there are issues and that is ok. You dont see an issue with the lackluster service you provide, thats awesome, however I along with others do not have to patronize you moving forward and we have not nor will we ever step in your establishment ever again. The comment that you attempted to correct the issue during our visit is false and no I will not contact you, because it was never about the money, it was about being in the service industry and failing miserably. So buyer beware. We have passed this place several times and today decided to try something different. When you enter, the host acted like she was being chased by zombies or bill collectors and acted inconvenienced to have to speak to people. After we were seated the server finally showed up and we ordered drinks and appetizers because their menu clearly states half off between 2-6 mon through fri. No notes made for holidays or other exclusions. Nor did the server mention it until my daughter ordered two for her lunch when we asked to speak to the manager, Nathan glided his way to the table and apologized for following company policy even though he noted that the company owners retired. Absolute lack of customer service skills and could not be bothered that we were the second table in less than 10 minutes to walk out. Also, pay your AC bill and use it As you can see the owner reached out and unfortunately Nathan only told them part of the story out of $35 in appetizers, what he offered was $10 off. No there is nothing you can do except: 1. Make correct notes on your menus to note that you choose not to maintain menu integrity on days of your choosing 2. Change your marquee signage to not note lunch specials under $10 on the days noted above. 3. Understand that there is an issue when you lose two tables and probably others we weren t witness to in less than 10 minutes

I have been here a few times and keep forgetting to review on google. They have a fun atmosphere with an alligator in the building when you walk in. The drinks here are really good, the bloody mary is spicy so let them know if you dont want it spicy. Yesterday we got the weekend pot and added 2 clusters, more than enough food. I do wish they had different flavors for tossing the crab in but they keep it simple and it works. This place is not overpriced like other crab places and they dont overcook the shrimps either. The food was surprisingly good. I got the alligator burger and fries which I would definitely recommend. However the server was horrible. She was rude and not took forever. I absolutely love this restaurant. Its so good that I dont have the adequate vocabulary to truly express how good it is. I had the fried alligator po boy that was so fresh I literally stopped eating it and walked up front to check the tank by the front door to make sure I wasnt eating Toby. The waitress was on point with drinks and condiments. I dont know if the one in Kemah is still open. The one on Bay Area will be the only one Ill patronize from here on out.

Had the crawfish etouffee and fried crawfish tails. Food had no flavor. Seafood enchiladas had imitation crab, but that was not specified in menu. Waitress and manager were very apologetic about this and comped appetizer and that entree. Would have preferred that the use of imitation crab was used, would not have ordered that dish.

I just had to make a comment about my Bartender and Server Jasmine. She is a great workers and she makes sure that I am well taken care of. I like the fact that she smiles and continues to ask if I am ok is during my visit. She always keeps me abreast of the Specials. Please make sure that you all take good care of a GREAT WORKER.

Been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience. Boiled seafood is my recommendation but you cannot go wrong with other items. Staff is always attentive but Jasmine at the bar top is where you need to be. Always helpful and your beer will never go empty!

Okay look sometimes I don t know what I want to eat but let me tell you, when you get a hold of the amazing delicious seafood at this clean and energetic place of cuisine, you won t want to hang out or eat anywhere else. food is to die for and the staff is amazing thank you for a great dining experience everything was on point. Our server was friendly, but they were not very attentive. Also, they were eating and bringing out orders, so who knows if they washed their hands or not. We sat at the bar and went later in the evening, and there werent a lot of people for our appetizer to have taken so long. I was generous in leaving an 18% tip. The experience was decent and could have been better with better service. Thank you!

Nice place, friendly staff. My First time here. Sat at the bar, Daniel was attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu. I tried a few things; I cant remember the name of the dish, but it was an Avocado stuffed with seafood.. the sauce on top was described to have white wine, but it was more like a gravy. The hush puppies were good, and the bread pudding was quite delicious. Ill be sure to come back and try a few different items

Ken was pleasant. Although he was busy he was very attentive. The grilled oysters were good and the toppings were generous. The spicy boiled shrimp with corn and potatoes were seasoned just right. They have specials on their crab boils starting at 2. Thursday s are snow crab and Dungeness crabs are 9.99 a cluster. The catfish on their lunch menu was huge.

We were expecting better. We went during slow hours so no excuse for slow service which we received. The atmosphere was pleasant but the food disappointing. The spring salad with shrimp was strange. The shrimp fine but the spring mix unedible, more like weeds or thistles with no mix of any other veggies, expensive. Grilled shrimp was OK with side of corn, expected cob but got stale kernel, choice never offered while clearly on menu. Service was to order, eventually served, without sauces, Disappointing.

Great place for lunch. No crowds to fight with. 20 minute lunch specials are on the table in a matter of minutes. Every waiter or waitress was friendly and made sure we never needed anything by checking in often. Food is always delicious and hot. Always greeted when entering. Always someone to welcome us to return soon upon our exit. Easy to find off Bay Area. Plenty of parking since they dont have much of a lunch crowd on days I eat there. Keep up the great service. Restroom needs a power washing. See ya soon!

The decor really gives off Nola vibes. I feel like I am back home somewhere in the French quarters. The service is extremely slow. You would think at 1p.m. on a weekday we wouldnt have to wait 1 hour for our food when they are literally six other tables 4 of which had food already. I dont know if they put our order in wrong and had to redo it or what. We were literally on the verge of walking out when they showed up with our food. The waiter was nice and friendly. The tacos was very dry but had a decent flavor he said. He only ate half of 1. And that is saying something because all he does is eat tacos. The mud bug burger tasted very seafoodish. It was very flavorful. The fries were nice and crispy. The grill Captain Plata was okay I will not order it again. The spinach tasted just like my father used to make it growing up, reminded me of old times. The snapper wasnt the best I tasted it. It has almost a fake fish taste to it I dont think I will return here again

First time, business lunch. Shrimp and oyster meal, 50/50 fries & onion rings. Shrimp- good. Nice sized, good breading, cooked properly. Oysters- fair. A bit small and over cooked but, not horrible. Hush puppies- tiny but good. Cocktail sauce- a smidge more horseradish needed Slaw- tiny but, pretty tasty. Fries- very good, nicely seasoned. Onion rings- thick and meaty, a bit chewy. Sweet tea- good but tea didn t steep enough. A bit thin on flavor. All in all, worthy of another try. I was eyeballing a colleague s gumbo. Color seemed right, nice amount of meat. The question asked, How s that roux? He said good and we seem to have similar taste and extensive experience across the river. Next time, crawfish étouffée. They hit that right, they ll get that 5th star.

I enjoyed it. I had the catfish and shrimp special and found out that it was the special of the day and it was all you could eat. I just ordered 6 more shrimp because when the order came out, I had plenty of food on the plate. It was my first time here. It was good and my waitress was very attentive. When I am in this area again, I will be back. Kid-friendliness: My granddaughter doesnt do fish so I got her chicken nuggets from McDonalds and brought it in so she could eat and didnt have any problems from the staff. I would have eaten somewhere else if they said I could not let her bring it in.

The boudinballs were good. You get 4 in the appetizers plate. The queso and cheese tasted a bit weird. The chips were the strangest. Hope you find a good waitress because we might as well just waited on ourselves. When she did bring anything, it was just set down quickly and go. She didnt have that many customers to be so rude and in that big of a hurry. We just decided to eat the appetizers and leave. We had already been there over an hour for just chips and dip. No, thank you.

My dad and I love the swamp shack in Kemah, however this one did not meet expectations. Was served a Bloody Mary with a fly sitting right on top. The food was also not great, the gumbo was 3/10, burnt roux. The shrimp were over cooked. Our waitress still attempted to charge us for the Bloody Mary with the fly in it.

I ve heard reviews about this place and decided to give it a chance again after my bad experience the first time. First time the shrimp tasted very foul and expired. Almost as if it came out of the swamp. Second time: I ordered the Cajun pasta. This dish is extremely overpriced. Over cooked fettuccine noodles, Mediocre pasta sauce and no seasoning in the pasta. I essentially paid $30 for frozen pasta meal.
