Went here for our Anniversary and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was classy and romantic and the service was phenomenal. We like to take our time at high end restaurants (2-3 hours) and we were never rushed by the staff. The waiter made so many awesome recommendations and we absolutely loved everything we tried. The food is incredibly fresh, clean, and flavorful. I would highly recommend this restaurant for seafood lovers.

They are, like most restaurants allowing sit down dining. The tables are all spaced though. It seems their valet parking is back up and running. Saw the podium after scouting out a parking place. The service here was wonderful. Well attentive, but have us plenty of space knowing it was our anniversary. As far as the food goes, do yourself a favor and get the Texas oysterfellers for an appetizer. They were too die for! Their lobster mac and cheese were unbelievable good as well. Sure the place is a bit pricey, but overall, the experience and the fact that you are supporting Texas and local by eating at one of Chef Bonnells restaurants makes it completely worth it.

My visits to Waters Ive been totally enjoyable since I love seafood and if you dont like seafood then dont go to Waters. The seafood Tower is great for two for romantic evening I recommend a nice white shabbly maybe a Moscato little less sweet Moscato if they have it but definitely you have to have wine with your seafood dinner it helps brighten the pallet after whatever bites that youre eating you clears the way for the next bite. You cant go bad here and if you do all you have to do is tell them that somethings not meeting your standard or is not really good and theyll make it up to you. Wheelchair accessibility: They have it.

I went here today, thought it was going to be really good. Uhm- I was disappointed. I walked in and felt out of place, while some of the front people were super nice and welcoming, the rest of the staff made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. They gave me judgmental stares and acted as if my label was Poverty Inc. ; doesn t leave the best taste in my mouth. Anyways, the atmosphere uhm let me be honest: people just seemed snobby and like they were gonna spit in my food or something. Not the restaurants fault for other people s behavior, but some of the employees looked at me that way as well. The food came out awhile later, it was okay, not a very good portion for the price but okay. The crab cakes I would never order again, it just felt as if the restaurant owner ran out of ideas and decided to fill it to the brim with nonsense. I don t mean to be rude, but well, it s food, not a child s coloring book. I payed and left, not really wanting to return, but maybe it was just that day. So I looked online for anything like my experience. All I can say is: people have had the same experience. The owner has some SERIOUS anger issues and needs management. In some of his replies, he becomes EXTREMELY unprofessional (he literally doxxed a guy in one of his replies). Sorry, but I don t think I ll return, especially if the owner can act childish. This is a business, not some pre-school

Came here a year ago, and the food was wonderful! Tonight was a miss. Great service - great bottle of wine. The cevichee on the cold fish tower was aweful. Oysters were ridiculously small and unimpressive. ( coming from the east coast, we know good oysters, and these were subpar). We have garlic allergies, and the chef was unwilling to make a basic 2 minute wine sauce for the halibut - really? This is a first high-end restaurant where the chef was not helpful in this area and left us with plain halibut and ruined it by soaking it oil- wasnt the worst but only salt and pepper would have been fine. Learned Jake, the prior manager who was exceptional, had left - that explained it all and why it was just an eh experience compared to what we used to get. It was disappointing other than the attentive waiter and the expensive bottle of wine. The chefs main talent is potatoes and should stick w that. A good diner would love him!!! Last, what has happened to the class of the patrons? When did dressing nice to go out to an upscale restaurant, turn into lets put on a wife beater shirt and torn jeans and go to Waters happen? Does anyone have any self pride here?

We expected a lot more. Went because my wife loves seafood. Our usual is Papadoux or Eddie Vs. But my wife wanted to try it. We had an 8pm reservation. We arrived on time and were told our table was not ready. They then pushed us off to the bar area to wait. We got to the only open spot at the bar. I ordered a razzle dazzle and an espresso martini. Then we were told we cant stand where we were during our wait because the spot at the bar was reserved. But there is no one there. So the bartender took pity on us after watching his coworkers shuffling us around like we were vagabonds instead of paying customers. He let us wait, and after asking again, they finally had our table ready. Finally, we have enjoyed many a dinner at Bonnells off Bryant Irvin. Even have his autographed book. So again, high expectations. Started with some appetizers. Now if its from the sea its not for me. Here I am at a fish place. There are not many options for me. My wife had the dirty dozen oysters. That night had some from Australia. So very nice variety. She did enjoy them. Then we had the fried feta cheese on a bed of arugula. Definitely needed to be more of that than the one little deep-fried circle. I had gotten an order of hush puppies, which were good but very dry. So we move on to dinner. I had the only thing I could, which was the steak. 8oz filet. When cooked was like something, I would serve my kids. Just tiny. Remember everything is a la carte. We had the Haricots Verts ( fancy way to say green beans ) barely enough for one person. Not very good. Also, the Kennebec Fries ( French Fries) Cold at the time they hit the table. My wife had the crab cakes. Now she had heard good things and that is her favorite. Well, she was disappointed. They tasted frozen and not very good at all. For a Bonnells restaurant, it was sad. The only way I could or would recommend this place is if they change many things. Not to sound cheap but to add some perspective. I dont have a problem spending $ 300.00 on dinner. But at least make it worth it. We honestly left with the never again after thought instead of cant wait to go back.

Annually why wife takes me to a restaurant for a fine dining experience. This years selection was Waters in downtown Fort Worth. We plan to spend exuberantly for a culinary experience that leaves us with a feeling of money well spent. Unfortunately, this was not such an experience, the overall visit was underwhelming. The staff was courteous and responsive when prompted, however we shouldnt have to ask more than once for requested items. Regarding the food it was prepared well with the exception of the fish portion of the fish and chips and the gumbo. The fish was light and fluffy and equally as bland, the only thing that makes it palatable is the malt vinegar or the tartar sauce. Regarding the Gumbo, its hearty and savory, but more of a thick seafood soup than Gumbo. Lastly, to present a 6oz lobster tail as a 12oz lobster tail is disrespectful and down right dishonest. We expected better, but you be the judge.

Extremely loud. We attended for restaurant week and were really looking forward to it. I have to say it was our waitress that ruined the entire evening for us. Now, she had a very large group (I counted 20) that she was sharing with another server. Im patient when I see that, I used to be a server myself. When she came to our table for our drink order I told her I wanted a dozen oysters in addition to our restaurant week choices. I was told I was not allowed to order them until I ordered my restaurant week choices. I was ok with that. When our appetizers came I asked about the oysters and she claimed I never ordered them. Even when she was at our table she didnt listen. Her eyes were constantly on the larger table. I really want to give this restaurant another chance but the service was just that bad.

Bar felt more like a bad happy hour than a fine dining experience. The staff hardly talked and weren t very personable. The final straw was when a homeless woman sat at the table next to us and was yelling profanities and the staff didn t do anything to stop her. I was going to enjoy my evening there at your restaurant for the first time and unfortunately I did not. The managements performance at the front door was unreal. Saturday later in the evening around 7pm I came and know they were busy. I walked up to see an older heavy set guy with glasses on being ugly to a young lady taking sitting. Im assuming she is the host. She was working through the sitting since they were booked and explaining to customers what options they have and time availability. The manager clearly was out of line by saying yall dont have time for that. As a customer I would wanna know the wait and options. However, shortly after they left and returned after about 10 minutes. You can tell she was flustered. And shortly after she left the front and didnt come back and we decided to leave. She was clearly upset and I personally thought she was doing the right thing. I waited tables for 16 years and feel the manager needs to be educated on how to provide customer service. Thank you for your time. But I dont think I will be back to try you out. Unless something is fixed with the management.

Absolutely fantastic place! We were there for a birthday dinner and they did NOT disappoint!! Everything was amazing. It was a great weekend to go because of the arts festival in and around Sundance Square. The fish and chips with redfish was fantastic. The oysters are delectable. Calvin their in house sommelier is world class!! We will be back!!

Chef Jon Bonnell knows how to create great experiential spaces. Waters is a win for sure. The dirty dozen oysters are spectacular. Getting to sample oysters from different regions is quite an experience. And youve got to get the gumbo. With crystals hot sauce. Yum! Food

I was really excited to come eat here for our anniversary. The staff was kind and informative, but the food for the price point did not match. My lobster tail was chewy to point I didn t even eat, but two bites. I will say the lobster Mac & cheese was great as was the tomato heirloom salad. My husband got crab cakes and they tasted a bit under cooked. The drinks were cold and tasty. Would I go back, no. Was it awful, no. Just a tad let down, honestly.

From the moment we were greeted, I was impressed! The hosts were friendly and answered our questions about the restaurant with eagerness and kindness! We were pleasantly surprised to learn how involved Jon Bonnell is in his restaurants! The service beyond that was remarkable as well! We were celebrating a birthday and we were excited to try anything and everything on the menu. Between the four of us we got to taste and share four amazing entrees, sides, and even indulged in the Seafood Tower (amazing) and many of their signature cocktails! 100% absolutely do not sleep on that lobster mac & cheese - I m still dreaming about it. Chad, our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and attentive! I m already planning our next trip back! I adore restaurants that pay attention to detail and make you feel at home whilst serving an amazing meal!

Service at Bar was outstanding. I went in to place a ToGo order family dinner. The takeout order was accurate and complete. However, I ordered the a Lobster Mac and Cheese, and it was poorly executed! There was no cheese on the order, macaroni shells were cooked al denti, and shavings of lobster were scarce, but bread were plentiful. So I did not like the $15 side of a Mac and Cheese. Most everything else was well Executed. Bartenders are awesome!

Ive been thinking a lot about forgiveness. It would have been nice for you to have had introduced yourself to me, When you would see me that you would shake my hand and not see me as less than a person. I intern could have had done the same. But at the time I was your employee, you could have had said hi and introduced yourself to me. To not make me feel like a stranger. the things that I had brought to your attention you and I both could have had done things in a different way. What Im trying to get at. I dont think Ill ever see you again but, I would like to apologize publicly for my behavior. To me I feel as Texan as pecan pie. To everybody else Im a fruitcake. I would like to work closely with you when it comes to autism, which is in April, as well as other months that represent other different types of disabilities. I do not expect a forgiveness right off the bat or anytime soon. Sometimes some things take time to think their way through. Then again whos perfect? I worked extremely hard for you I enjoyed every single moment of it and I remember all the wonderful times I had working there. Even though a lot of staff made fun of me and said bad things about me and chose not to be friends with me. Its water under the bridge. I totally 100% enjoy working extremely hard at everything I did. I hope there is Common Ground and once again publicly I apologize for the things Ive said. You did not deserve that. I am sorry

We had reservations for 715 and were promptly seated. The staff was very friendly and the service was great. Our drink order was taken and we ordered appetizers. We had the calamari strips and the crab cake. The drinks came out and shortly after the appetizers arrived. They were both fantastic. We ordered dinner, halibut with sweet potato gnocchi, Arctic char with asparagus, lobster macaroni and cheese, and haricot vert with caramelized garlic. I only wish the main course was as good as the appetizer. The food came out and looked delicious. Both dinners were extremely salty. Not just one bite, but all of it. The green beans were good but the garlic was not caramelized. It was basically green beans topped with minced garlic. The lobster macaroni and cheese was ok. We were disappointed in the main course and sides. For such a nice establishment, the food did not measure up to the price that was paid. For that reason, we could only give 2 out of 5 stars. It may have been an off night. Again, this was not an all bad experience and this is our opinion only. There are plenty of great reviews and this is why we tried this restaurant. If you read this, take it with a grain of salt , but go see for yourself and form your own opinion.

First off, I hardly ever leave reviews, so the fact that I am doing this says alot!! I wish that I could leave 10 stars because thats how amazing the service/food was. From the time we walked in my date and I were treated with such great care and we have agreed to make this our frequent date night spot!! Try the Texerfella oysters, the filet mignon, the lobster mac, and the bourbon street brownie!! You wont regret it.

Came away unimpressed after trying Waters for Christmas Eve dinner. The raw oysters and steak were exceptional. Everything else, from the halibut to the sides to the drinks were average at best. Service in particular was mediocre, with seemingly confused staff the whole time, culminating in food being spilled on us with minor compensation afterwards. Will likely not return.

A quiet Tuesday night with my wife and visiting daughter led us to Waters for our first visit. They are proud of their oysters! They decorate with them and will serve them in any raw or cooked state I am familiar with. After contemplating the Oyster for years I have given up the habit so I can t report on this. The appetizers and mains were excellent. We tried the calamari and hush puppies with fried jalapeño peppers w/ honey butter. Both quite good. Arctic Char, Barramundi (rare menu find) were excellent but beware - you are served twice the amount of fish than either of us could eat. (Both will make fine leftovers). Also at the table: Waters version of fish and chips. THAT plate could have easily fed the three of us all by itself. Stuffed, my daughter and I each tried an after dinner cocktail for dessert that were also excellent. Extensive wine list. Prices range from ~60 ish to >800 a bottle. You can buy wine by the glass but we found an interesting blend that was worth a try at 135/bottle. Very fine high end restaurant. Friendly and attentive staff. Review your choices with the server if making a request from their choices. One dish was missing a seasoning recommended by the server. Also, we were able to try a half dish of a very yummy lobster Mac. We didn t think we could order half but our server suggested it. In hindsight- as a couple we may split more orders on our next visit if fish. Parking note: The valet next to the restaurant is the priciest we ve found so far. $21 plus tip. Inexpensive Parking garages abound so we may try them next if a short walk does not challenge you. There is also free parking in the area as well. But it was convenient, pay by texted link and credit card. Sipped desserts until the note came that it was ready.

Solidly enjoyable. A few misteps that were unexpected at this level but both times were enjoyable. The oysters are stellar. Perfectly presented. Fresh. Well dressed. Thats why I come here. See pic. Every time well done. Shells are cut right (not jagged or broken) and the only place I have encountered lucky limes which are now my fav. Fresh horseradish and a tnagy consume that is delightful. Also, and I know this is a small thing, but the ketchup on the fries is not traditional heinz type ketchup. It is tangy and bright and extremely memorable (if that makes sense). First time I have ever eaten fries so I can get more ketchup! Very yummy. So... misteps... seated outside twice. Table was wobbly. And they store their trash bins outside so the regular wafting of decomposing trash was less then stellar. Steak was ordered medium+. Came out well done. Not an ounce of pink let alone a touch of red. Server saw it and did not say a thing. Also... 19 dollar old fashioned? Wasnt willing to risk it but thats a stretch even with bidenflation. Fish and chips was interesting... more batter then fish but with the right mix of tarter and cocktail sauce it was...again, interesting. Would I go back? Absolutely. Would I focus my order more on what they are good at? Like a laser.

I think that overall this is a nice restaurant. There are not many good selections in the downtown area of Fort Worth. Waters is probably one of the better ones. They have a very good Old Fashion if you like those. The bread here is quite good. A nice crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. The oysters texafeller were decent, but I have had better. The oysters lacked a good crunch and the spinach on them was heavily salted. The tuna tartar was nice with the jalapeños. The crab cake was mildly disappointing and small. The Cesar salad was very lemony and there wasn t any flavor of the anchovies. The branzino was good, but the fish lacked seasoning. The stuffing was better than the fish. The biggest hit was the max and cheese. We saw people who just ordered that for a dinner. I should have done that! It is creamy and flavorful. So overall, I think that four stars is fair. While it was nice, there is room for improvement.
