Im so thankful this beautiful tranquil green space is so close to my home. I absolutely revel in the different aspects of the park. Dog walking, bike trails, jogging, walking, playground, picnics, waterfall & an opportunity to see various wildlife. Theres a bit of everything . Playground: The playground is located near the park entrance on Bellaire. Swomgs, slide, rocking horse are a few of the things available. Theres a coveted shell with a picnic table or two. Its also maybe 100 ft from 1 of 2 outhouses (?) In the 3 connected parks.

It is a great and safe place to park and walk the Trinity Trail. There is also a nice park for children with swings and slides. Also, you can walk to the falls a bit further down from the childrens park as the Trinity heads toward downtown.

***WOMEN BEWARE*** Please be aware of your surroundings. I do run with a consealed gun for my protection. Today I needed it. I have been running at Oakmont Park/ Art Cowsen trailhead for 4years without any issues. I always felt safe until today. I was on the back end where there wasnt anybody. I could see a guy on a mountain bike coming towards me. As he got closer I could see he was naked. We made eye contact and he greeted me. I passed him about 50ft and I stopped and said Im going to call the police. He then stopped and got off the bike and said, What did you say. I proceeded to pull out my phone and he started making a motion to grab his backpack. I said you better not come near me. I run with a gun. He ran into the bushs and put some shorts on. He started to get back on his bike. I got scared and facetimed my husband and took off running towards a clearer area. I was still a 1.5 miles from my car. That walk back was very uneasy. I got to an area that had people and called the police to give my report. I ended up spotting him in my car. He was a few miles from the park and a gold older model Range Rover stopped and picked him up. He put his bike in the back. This guy had no good intentions. The situation could have been way worse. Thank you lord for never leaving my side. Always be aware of your surroundings. Description of the guy: Young about 25ish. White, with dark hair Slim build about 58 Dark Mountain bike, black helmet. Water double strap sandals Backpack was a teal greenish color. #oakmontparkfortworth #artcowsentrailhead #womensafetyawareness #womenrunning #fortworthrunning #fortworthwomen #fortworthsafety

Oakmont park has been a family favourite for more than twenty years. We went today because of the great weather. We love the combination of it being so close along with the trails that go through untouched forest. Its as close to nature as you can get in the city. Playground: There is a playground close to the entrance Toilets: Rest rooms are at the entrance but are not fancy Dog-friendliness: Dogs on a leash are welcome Picnic area: Multiple picknick areas

I have been coming to this park for 8 years and it is very nice. However, I have often noticed broken car glass in the parking lot. I wasnt really sure what to make of this. I assumed maybe cars were getting broken into at night? Well today at 10am someone smashed out my window and stole my wallet! Apparently this is now common here and there are no security cameras. Very surprised and pissed off....be very careful

I have been going to this park to walk and exercise for a few years now. The trails are nice concrete paths, although there are a few sections that are not maintained too well and after some hard rain could be pretty difficult to pass without getting a little muddy. Out and back, not a loop trail.

Beautiful natural Park. Great open area to play with kids and pets, long paved walkways for runners or cyclists. Good playground space with toys in good condition. But met just 1 Toilet at the parking lot and no picnic area, just benches. Anyway, my family had a nice morning immersed in the nature at the Oakmont Park.

A very scenic park and generally quiet, with a little traffic of the occasional bicycle rider. There are a bunch of trails of the main path to enjoy. I usually get 10,000 steps in and the time flies by because its so pretty and fun to visit. Its always well kept up, no trash litter and large open green lawns along the path always mowed.
