My wife and I spent our weekly date night at La Margot. We love French and Italian food and we were excited to try a new restaurant. We were disappointed. The atmosphere is attractive but very loud. We were originally seated right next to other couples but we asked to be moved to a private table and they accommodated us. It was quite pricy. The food was very good but the service was average. We have several favorite French and Italian restaurants around Fort Worth we like, unfortunately we won t be adding La Margot to our list.

I have to admit. Higher-end French food in Fort Worth was not on my list. When I visit FW I eat BBQ or steak, so I almost didn t go. What a mistake that would have been! What a wonderful experience. The service is old-school and top-notch, and the food the FOOD is really extraordinary. French comfort food at its best. To say I was surprised at this funky cool joint in the middle of a strip mall is an understatement. I ll definitely be back. Still dreaming of the amazing seafood pot pie and the beef bourguignon. Wish I had room for dessert as I m sure those were amazing as well. Congrats Le Margot on a wonderful surprise!

Upon stepping into this restaurant, one is met with an ambiance that strives for sophistication but unfortunately misses the mark. Like the little engine that could, it seems to try its best but falls short of delivering a truly upscale experience. The dated pictures adorning the walls only serve to highlight this disconnect. Regrettably, the service here leaves much to be desired, lacking the consistency and professionalism one would expect from a dining establishment - especially one whose prices under deliver in both service and overall taste. Opting for the scallops, I was disappointed to find my plate adorned with a mere four pieces. The overpowering fishy aroma, undercooked texture, and lackluster sauce rendered this dish a complete miss, prompting me to advise others to steer clear.

I brought the family here for a fine food birthday dinner and was sorely disappointed. It turns out that reservations are notional - we had to wait 25 past our reservation time. Also apparently there is no dress code? Folks were wearing tank tops, shorts, high top sneakers. Personally didn t bother me but my mom who is a bit old school was put off. Most importantly the food was mediocre at best. For $400 I expected a much better dining experience.

I was surprised that Fort Worth had even one good French restaurant, but to have 3 is really remarkable. Of the three Le Margot is differentiated by being a French bistro vs an authentic Parisian, or a French provincial, that describes the styles of the other two. The wines selection has choices for all pocket books but is not so solely focused on France. We had a French Syrah. Since we had not been before we ordered a goat cheese and mushroom oil flat bread and a seafood pot pie. One would have been sufficient to share between two. Both excellent. Salads sounded great but since I over-ordered appetizers we went straight to dinner. The scallops with a side of spinach was excellent and we also had the sweet corn risotto with lobster added. Beyond full this time we passed on dessert. Popular on a Tuesday night but not overfull. Gotta go back. There s more to try!

So I sat and thought about this over the weekend and couldn t help but leave a review. I have been to Le Margot 3 times now. The first time was a little bit after they opened and it was absolutely amazing, my fiancé and I truly loved it, the steak frites was the best steak either of us had ever had. The second time we went was good but not as amazing as it was the first time, and we blamed it on chef Graham not being there that night since he was there our first visit. Now for the third time we went was this last Friday night. My fiancé and I decided to take his mom and father out for a nice dinner for his moms birthday and made reservations in advance. We also hyped this place up quite a bit so they were pretty excited. We arrive 2 minutes before our reservation time and noticed the place was PACKED. As we checked in, the hostess explained we were early and asked for us to wait. Since it was busy we went outside and waited on the patio in the heat for over 10-15 min even though we had a reservation in advance. Once we were finally seated, and after waiting for about 20 min for our drink order to be taken, we requested a Sommeliers to come to our table. At the time I forgot the true name but the waiter knew what I was talking about, but my fiancés mom curiously asked what the specific name was for a wine pairing guy and the waiter said our bar manager which I replied politely oh I thought there was a specific name, my bad and he replied shortly no it s just called our bar manager Which I thought was an odd interaction since the times we had previously come they specifically asked if we would like a Sommeliers to help us. Not once did the Bar manager come over to help us with a wine pairing. We then waited another 35 min for the waiter to even take our appetizer order. Still no bar manager to speak of, so after waiting quite a while we just decided to pick what wine we thought we d like. Which we were then asked if we d like the glass of wine with our appetizers or main course and we decided with the appetizers. Never did we receive the wine during that time lol. Once we finished our appetizers it took about 40 min for the waiter to come take our entree orders, which then in turn took about 45 min for our food to come out, which is expected for them to cook etc, we weren t super upset about that. But during this time, still no wine and our water glasses were completely empty the entire time until our main courses came out. I suppose the waiter finally remembered the wine and we then received it quite a bit after we got our entrees. The food itself was good, but was subpar compared to the quality we had had before, which was a letdown. You go to a higher end place and pay not only for the food but the service and experience as well. But at the end of the day we were all left pretty disappointed. This was supposed to be a fun experience for my fiancés mom as a birthday gift and it ended up being a fail. So we are truly saddened but guess the high crowd/ following has taken the quality out of the service and food and thought I d share my opinion.

We had the onion soup, tons of cheese on top, would have liked the broth to be somewhat thicker, but still great flavors. Then the scallops, topped with a capers and raisins mix that was wonderful (wife doesnt even like scallops, yet she loved them); and the always amazing beef Wellington, rich, perfectly cooked and delicious. Didnt save space for dessert, but well be back soon for some other French delicacies and dessert.

Absolutely love the way the inside of this Resturant was decorated. So much fun! And they bring a purse stand for the ladies which is a nice touch. The food was delicious and the portion size is quite large. We were wishing we had split an entree and tried the appetizers. I want to go back for the quiche I saw the next table having. We were there at brunch and it was very busy with large groups so service could have been better if they had a little more staffing. They have quieter seating on the bar and the outdoor patio. They do take reservations. Its a great place to do a ladies lunch or a have a nice evening out.

Sadly, this review is not based on the food since we didn t even have the chance to try it. When we arrived for our reservation, we were told there would be a 40 min wait (even though we confirmed the reservation via text just two hours before). Frustrated, we looked around and noticed that the covered patio was completely empty and asked if we could sit there while we waited for our table to become available. We were told no . Not even offered water. I can sympathize with a business when they re overwhelmed and understaffed but we really felt like a burden so just decided to leave. Try at your own risk but I would recommend having a Plan B in case this happens to you so you re not scrambling to find a place to seat you on a (clearly very busy and SO loud) Saturday night.

Restaurant was recently and favorably featured on a local TV show. Wife & I were excited to try it; drove in from Southlake for dinner. Upon entering, the noise level reminded us of being in an elementary school cafeteria at lunch time and it progressively got worse. In fact, it s one of the noisiest restaurants we ve ever been into anywhere. It s certainly not what we are used to in French restaurants. If you want a quiet romantic dinner, we recommend that you go elsewhere. Atmosphere and decor? Without the excessive noise, would definitely rate a 4 to 5 Star, But because of the noise, I almost gave it a 1 Star plus. The tables are way, way too close to each other. But because of the restaurant s beauty and uniqueness, we gave it a 3 Star. By the end of the meal, when the restaurant finally had reached capacity, the noise level was unbearable! Both of couldn t wait to get outside but because the tables were so close together it added to the stress of the entire dining experience. Food was pretty good but not great. At these price points, it should have been both scrumptious and delectable, but it was far, far from it. We had calamari, (tiny bowl of sauce, asked for and gladly provided a second cup by our very sweet and attentive server, but also a very inexperienced one. French Onion soup was good, but again it did not live up to what I d been led to believe it was. Asparagus was wonderful, not hard; not mushy. Scallops were good but neither one of us cared for the cream sauce that it was prepared in. Cream B was different than what we are used too. Again good but not something we would ever order again. FYI I took a few of my scallops home and ate them for breakfast the next morning They were very good especially when I had the opportunity to salt pepper them. All restaurants have to do to avoid complaints like this is just put salt and pepper on their tables. Unfortunately we also both felt rushed by the wait staff. When one pays this much money for dinner; this issue should never have to be experienced. I recognize that time is money but sophisticated diners will recognize and remember this kind of bad service. Never mind the fact that we dined on a Friday night. Glad we went but not the kind of place we will rush back too, if ever again. Frankly we were disappointed for all the reasons described above and especially when the bill arrived. I felt like we d been ripped off for what we received. I don t mind paying an exorbitant amount of money for great atmosphere, service and food, but in our humble opinion, this restaurant failed in all categories. However FTW needs more French restaurants. But unless the owners address both our and other sincere, negative reviews, I d be surprised if they make it long term; especially after the newness wears off. But because we always support privately owned restaurants and because we would like to perhaps support this one again, we truly hope that this one is successful..

Server was impeccable. (Young guy who just relocated from Austin, TX.).. very friendly and was quick to react when he realized that the Martini that I ordered neat was actually delivered dirty...(Martini drinkers will know what I mean).. He was gracious enough to bring a correct version (and it was delicious) and didnt charge for the first one...He also recommended an excellent French Bordeaux wine with the meal... The food was delicious... we ordered Steak Frites .. cooked perfectly medium rare (for my partner) and medium (for me)... only issue was that the meat was a bit tough... maybe slicing it against the grain would help alleviate the issue....Other than that, the only other negative issue occurred at the bar...We arrived promptly for 7:30 dinner reservations but had a 10-15 minute wait time, so sat at bar. We waited patiently to order drinks, but only after our greeter arrived to seat us at our table were we approached by the bartender to take our drink order... overall, very satisfied with our experience

Le Margot was great! The space is well appointed (there are even purse hooks under all tables!), the service was great and the food, fantastic! I d recommend the French onion soup, calamari, prosciutto burger, and the rose crème brûlée. The lemon tart itself was great but I could do without the fluff topping. The papillon violette cocktail is a must try and props for them having a mocktail menu; I tried a c est la vie mocktail and the flavor was good but it would ve benefited from some tonic water because it was too sweet. The menu had several appealing options and I ll definitely be back to try some others!

My husband and I were headed to Fort Worth from Dallas for a couple of days & Le Margot was recommended to us by a friend! I am SO thankful for that recommendation because I have been on a hunt for a delicious quiche and I can now say I ve found ~The Best Quiche Ever~!!! First though the restaurant is brimming full of personality and style. I loved the over the top floral displays, bright pink chandeliers, mixed use of textures and colors. It felt like a very eclectic combination of modern that married 20 s art deco style and pulled off the unique pairing so very well. The atmosphere was the perfect setting for our first brunch to start off a little mini vacation. One little hitch though was that they only had enough quiche for one order so my husband adjusted his order to a croquet madame and the chefs were kind enough to substitute the ham for spinach & mushrooms. The quiche itself had the most delicate crust, nice and flaky, it was cooked to perfection without being too soft or too dry and absolutely full of flavor! This was definitely a high end quiche for a special occasion and not something like from a local bakery, I can t put my finger on it but it had a complexity I don t normally find in most recipes. I was thankful to the manager for being apologetic about the lack of quiche & he checked in to make sure both our meals were to our satisfaction and the waitress was super attentive and friendly. Absolutely loved everything about this restaurant and I just wish there was one in Frisco!!

Fish, fresh fries and mussels were far too salty. Filet on beef wellington was tough except for very center. Manager comped us a dessert which our waiter forgot to take off the bill. Chairs are uncomfortable. Furniture is not up to par with prices. Food options are excellent; things you wont find everywhere in fort worth. The bar is beautiful. Busboy touched my water glass on the mouth and replaced it without being asked. They are trying for upscale and will eventually get there.

We had the scallops (best Ive had) and half lobster thermidor and I cant recommend this combination enough. Im not a fan of spinach but I could eat a plate of their sauteed spinach by myself. We finished it off with the lemon tarte. I will 100% be back and will be ordering these exact same things again.

I found Le Margot after searching for romantic restaurants online. I checked the menu and price point and thought I had an understanding of what to expect. The food was good, and I was pleased with the menu selections, but it was not a romantic atmosphere. The music (pop music) was loud, causing the full house to have to talk over it. We couldnt hear each other very well. We had a reservation, so our table was ready when we arrived, but the kitchen was very backed up and so it took 40 minutes from the time we ordered until our entrees arrived. It might have been fine as I loved the company I was with, but we couldnt hear each other. Plus, we were seated right next to the wait stand that strangley enough is in the middle of the room, so we never felt alone at our table. Our server was very warm and kind. She tried hard but was definitely spread too thin. We never got the chance to tell her that the soup we ordered came out cold, literally cold. We dont send food back usually, but it was disappointing. At that price point ($100 per person), and the way they are advertised I expected more.

Since both our friends and we were otherwise busy on Valentines Day, we celebrated at Le Margot the next evening. We are so glad we chose this restaurant: the service and food were perfect for our celebration! The one point off on atmosphere is that the music tended to be a bit loud, causing all the other guests to speak louder, making it noisier than we anticipated.

Fine French dining in a swanky modern atmosphere, plus 5 star service. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. From the oysters to the beef Wellington, we were happy with everything we tried (except maybe the fries were a little disappointing?). The French onion soup was especially good (best Ive ever had) and I really enjoyed the roasted beet carpaccio. The cocktails were very good and they boast a great selection of wines. You almost miss this place from the outside sitting inconspicuously in a Tom Thumb strip center. The interior is nice and a bit eclectic with some really interesting artwork. I have been looking forward to this experience for a month. My closest friend came in town for a special occasion (I had not seen her in 3 years and wanted a great night) so I booked out Le Margot. Unfortunately, it was a lack luster experience. We had both bartended and waited tables so we are extremely forgiving and never like to rock the cusine boat but this was such a sad state of flavor. We ordered the arancini, salmon tartar, truffle flatbread, escargot pot pie, and a side of the frites. Unfortunately, 3 of the 4 were mediocre at best. The arancini needed salt and the sauce had obviously been under a heat lamp. The salmon tartar was great but that can be achieved at any sushi restaurant. The truffle flatbread or tarte as they call it was a very basic pizza. The frites were OK. Local Foods Kitchen has my heart on those! And last but not least...the snails. It was taste free. From the pastry to the filling, it was no flavor. From a cuisine that adores butter (as do I) there was none. And once again....the lack of salt. Lonnnnng story short. I was extremely disappointed. This was our big night out. And someone from Chicago said never again.

Everything was just okay. Fries were overcooked, they forgot to plate a sauce, etc. The French onion soup was just fine but needed more salt. Calamari was also seemingly unsalted and had the tiniest side of red sauce to go with it. Early in the experience, the server said bread service was on the way. Towards the very end of my meal, I asked for some bread to go with the mussels, and she said oh you want more bread, and I said we never got any in the first place. Our server had a scornful face at whoever was in charge of bread for not bringing it in the first place. The rhythm of service was just entirely off. It seemed like they had enough staff to service a full restaurant, but the kitchen seemed slow to get food out, and the coordination between weight assist and servers was just clumsy. Our server seemed very stressed. It was incredibly loud in the whole restaurant which would disqualify me from ever wanting to go back in the first place, but I suppose some people like that energy. A few high notes, the steak was excellent, with some of the best flavor of steak Ive ever had. The desserts were very good - creme brulee and profiterole. The decor is also very interesting and fun.

What can I say about this place? The first time I went, it was for lunch. I had the lavender glazed chicken and shared a mushroom tarte flambé and it was a really awesome experience. Then again, there were maybe five tables. Atmosphere was very intimate, very quiet. I went again last weekend for a dinner on Saturday night. Place was electric. Packed! We went a little deeper into the menu this time, getting a bottle of wine (CDP white.... Their wine menu is solid for a smaller place but then again I think chef does a really good job of spreading good bottles across all of his restaurants and not having a generic Constellation menu... Which is awesome). We also got the pâtè. My wife got the butternut risotto and added lobster. Got the Coq Au Vin. Everything was great. Dessert? My wife got the Brie En Croute and I got the Crème Brûlée. Honestly out of all of the above, the Brie was the star of the whole show. That was the best dessert I think Ive ever had in my life. But the whole experience food wise was amazing. However, atmosphere..... Man I think they have to do something about sound dampening on really busy nights. My wife and I almost thought about busting out some sign language because it was very loud! The place is decorated beautifully! We will be back but we probably will frequent more at lunch vs dinner.

Dropped in on a Sunday for a late lunch early dinner. Hoping this might be a potential new place for us to get some good French food, since Fort Worth does not have a lot of good French restaurants.Staff very nice. Food? Graham Elliott and Felipe Armenta should be embarrassed. I have had a ton of country pate in my lifetime. In the US, in multiple cities in France. Not sure what their version is supposed to be. Layer of congealed fat on top of sliced, over salty duck. Hubby had steak frites. Mediocre at best. Salad was fine. Bread was fine, but come on. This is not the food of award winning chefs. So disapointed

My friends and I dined there last Monday night. My potato leek soup and quiche were fine. One friend who loves pate, showed me his shredded goose liver and said it was the worse pate he had ever had. My other friend order Dover Sole(market price) and enjoyed it until we got the bill. It was $89!!! His mistake was not asking the price assuming it was $49, no more than $59. When we confronted the waiter, he said he was instructed to not tell customers the price unless specifically asked, adopting a customer beware business philosophy. We told the waiter this misunderstanding could have been easily avoided if he had mentioned the price when my friend ordered the Dover Sole. We won t go back and we will tell everyone we know about their business practices. Lastly, I dined last night at the Fort Worth Club where the Dover Sole is $39.

Service was alright, the waitress was nice but it took a while to get our drink orders in after we were seated. We were not impressed with the food as much as we were with the rest of our experience so we decided not to get any entrees. The Mussels were overcooked. The beef tartar was not minced all the way and the pieces were still attached and stringy. So we moved on to desserts. We got a crembrulle and an espresso. The espresso was perfect and the crembrulle was ok. The crembrulle texture was like pudding and lacked the firmness of a crembrulle. I still gave the experience 5 stars because we will be back after they work out a few kinks I am sure it will be top-notch.

I had high hopes but .. Pro s: the ambiance was beautiful and the service was 5 stars. The server who seated us was not our waitress but she went above and beyond to take our drinks orders and go over the entire menu. She knew her stuff. I had a glass of David Renaud burgundy and it was excellent, my daughter had the City of lights cocktail, very good. Cons: The French are renowned for their bread and what a disappointment! The baguette slices were dry and hard inside. Not a good start. The Bibb salad was recommended and also disappointing it was bland the dressing had hardly any flavor. I ordered the classic French staple Beef steak and frites. The fries were fine but my steak was cooked medium as requested the menu stated that it would have a tarragon butter topping, well it came with a frozen pat of said butter! My daughter ordered the special that evening which was the risotto with scallops she enjoyed her dish. To finish we split the rose creme brûlée. Another disappointment it was lacking the brûlée creamy texture and the taste was blah in my opinion. I have travelled to France numerous times and am very familiar with French cuisine. I hope they can step it up with basic classics such as their bread and beef steak and frites, creme brûlée. I won t be returning anytime soon.

The goat cheese and mushroom appetizer and french onion soup were amazing! My lobster thermidor, however, was not. It had no sauce or flavor other than a very dry breadcrumb topping. Very disappointing! Atmosphere was ok, but very loud. Definitely great food for the most part, but very expensive. One other note...why no french bread before or with dinner? I totally expected that.

I believe if you claim to be a French restaurant, you must serve French food. You may be creative but there are basic staples that are served with French food like crusty French baguettes, the correct sauces with meat and fish dishes, good red wine list with several French red wines and a couple French brut sparkling wines, not Italian. I ordered the Lyonnaise salad with a poached egg. I m not sure how it was done but there was no yolk, only a bit of poached egg whites. The frise lettuce and lardons were good but I missed the whole poached egg. The restaurant is stunning. The location is good and the staff were friendly. I realize it s a new place and the chef does not follow french traditions in the food preparation so my expectations were off base.

Amazing culinary experience all around. The staff was very friendly and attentive. From the hostess up to the general manager, all made sure we were taken care of. Best French onion soup Ive ever had! It was so flavorful and cheesy. The quiche Lorraine was like eating a cloud of eggs thats just how light and airy it was. Inside and out the decor is beautiful. The music was a bit loud but that is my only complaint.

We set a really high bar going in to dinner tonight and have to say we were not let down! The service was incredible, the food was second to none, and the experience was one we will not forget! Chef Graham was there making sure everything was perfect! We had the escargot, scallops, filet, and crème brûlée which was above and beyond all expectations! You have to try this place, seriously, give it a try! I can t wait to go back! Edit We went back for seconds and literally could not wait but I felt the need to follow up and express my disbelief in the complete drop in service and food quality after just one month. The chef was not present and everyone acted like they just didn t want to be there at all, to the point where we were just constantly asking for simple things over and over. Then, to top it off the food was messy and tasteless almost. We seriously received better service from Chilis just the very next night and honestly wished we wouldn t have spent the money. I will try it one more time to see if this was just a fluke but for the money I would truly expect the food and service to be perfect no matter when you go.

My husband decided to surprise me with reservations to Le Margot. This was our first time and we will definitely be returning. Our waiter, Michael, made us feel very welcomed. He was very attentive and made sure that any of our questions were answered. The food was amazing! I had the Steak Frite and he had the Salmon. It was the perfect date night!

What a great experience. Sat at the raw bar/expo table to watch all the action. Food and service was superb! French Onion was spot on, Tarte Flambées are large (so be careful on how many you order) and tasty, and the fries with the Steak Frites were a standout. Cool to see a celebrity chef like Graham working hard on expo and jumping on the line. Highly recommend when in the Dallas/Forth Worth area.
