She checks back with us frequently to ensure we have enough coffee or if there is any other thing we need. Do better. Everything was fine until it was time to pay and they changed the prices on me at checkout. I was charged extra for sides that came with the Senior plate. Waitress said the sides came with it. Menu said the sides came with it. But cashier balked and argued with me about it in front of customers and charged me extra for the sides. Would have been cheaper to have just order the full price items instead of the senior plate. I feel ripped off. Do better.

This place has been a go to eatery diner breakfast chicken fried steak and pancake eatery since 1979 for me. Gone are the beehive hairdos hornrimmed glasses and cigarettes glued to the lips of the kind waitresses here. Recently we have noticed the food has been really good! The crowds are small..the waitresses helpful funny attentive. We like just about everything on the menu. And they have great biscuits. Catfish. Chicken fried chicken. Excellent pancakes , German called Dutch babies. Decent little pies. ..nice people. Eccentric in a good way. Love it.

We were there Sunday evening; it took an hour at least to get our food. I ordered a patty melt, well done, with a side of mayonnaise & French fries; i got a hamburger patty with a bun that had a little bit of melted shredded cheese and 10 diced onions, no mayonnaise. Patty was cooked medium/medium rare. My mother ordered a senior chopped steak dinner, medium, but got a patty that was too tough to eat. The service.. well, we had no one checking on us for the first 30 minutes. We were getting really frustrated and then finally a waitress came over to check on us. I wished I got her name; but didn t. The pancakes here have a unique corn flavor and look yellow, with fluffy texture and rich taste. If you have some of these pancakes, fried chicken and a cup of coffee, thatd make an awesome breakfast. The place looks very TCU themed outside, with purple decorations everywhere. I have been to this restaurant countless times over the decades! Their food is always top-notch. They are super busy on the weekends so you may have to wait 15 minutes. The German pancakes are out of this world! They have several locations now I have only been to the one in Fort Worth and Burleson. I highly recommend them. German pancake was cold and dry and tasted more like an omelet. Bacon was cooked exactly right but flavor was cheap-ish. So sad

This place is as homespun as the name suggests, but the food and service was very good. The coffee is a classic house blend, but it was piping hot, and refilled as needed. The eggy(in a good way) Dutch baby was finished at the table with fresh lemon. Best of all, to me, the prices were on the low side.

Your typical beloved pancake house. I ended up trying the chicken fried steak for a lunch meal. It was not as tasty as hoped. Slightly over cooked and just bland overall. Would like to see a fresh cutlet and creamier gravy. Overall service was very good and looked like ideal place to return for breakfast and brunch.
