Our second time at NC. And it was worth it. A loud, fast moving, no frills decor, bar and grill. That is not a putdown. Rather a straightforward review of what you will get. Decent sized open space with a few extra large booths, some smalish barstool level tables, and some longer not wide (bigger group) barstool level tables. As well as a neo classic look actual bar. Fairly comfortable bar stools. But the treasures to be found here are not obviously apparent. Those treasure come in the staff. Despite it being basically a speed bar (minus the dancefloor). The bartenders, bar backs, and kitchen staff are on point. Quick, kind, courteous,attentive, informative, welcoming, generous...I could go on. From Kyle our bartender, to the gentleman who brought out my Fried Morty sandwich (fried thick bologna with fried swiss, dijon and mayo...YUM!) Our service this time,as well as the last time, were top notch. I was a batender for a number of years, and have seen the good and the bad, on both sides, All good on all sides of Nickel City (Fort Worth). Their liqour selection is fairly extensive and somewhat unusual. There are liquours behind their bar I have never heard of. And not in the pretty bottle and color that sits there for 5 years. category...Galliano. Great prices on 1 oz shots of whiskey and bourbon, and well as in general for their drinks. My only issues....But these I put into the personal preference category. I wish they had a better beer selection, As I am a beer guy. I wish they had a selection to stand up to their liqour selection. You dont need the amount to match the liqour selection, but maybe a better cross section that better reflects the industry. The crinkle cut fries were the best I have had in years...crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the iniside. Problem. The basic fries were under salted/seasoned. And I also got to try the Cajun fries. Same. Underseasoned. Just a bit of heat at the end. My friend took the slider recomendation,and was very happy. Both our bartender and doorman, were very good at letting us know about the weekly night specials: 2 for 1 sliders, 99 cent wings, whiskey Wednesdays, etc, Over all I would say this is the kind of place to come and start you night with some good food, drinks, and staff. Our as we did, end the night the same. This isnt so much a destination, as it is a wonderful beginning, center, or endpoint for the every growing Southside. Last FYI. Free parking nearby can SUCK. Be prepared to drop $5 weekdays. Or $10 weekends to park in one of the nearby paylots. Thru Parkwhiz or one of the other parking apps. There is a smaller sub bar within the bar called Bar Bagazo, that specializes in tequila/mescal. Have not tried yet. Weird one just for me. They have a seperate soda water dispenser (Jack Daniels branded?). Best soda water I have ever had.

Our local friends brought us here. Vibes were chill. The cheese curds were amazing! Apparently this bar transforms during the holidays for pop up bars so I d love to come back and see. Automatic 5 because there was a dog at the bar.

Great place during the day when its not super packed. Not my favorite on weekend nights as it gets so busy you cant get to the bar for a drink. Staff is exceptional and service is always great. Drinks are on point. Im just not a huge wade my way through a literal crowd to grab a beer kinda guy.

What can I honestly say other than 5 stars? Nickel City Fort Worth is my favorite bar. No bar feels like home like Nickel City does. The food from Delray Cafe is fantastic, the bartenders are friendly and always make sure to serve responsibly, and the atmosphere is great. Love being able to grab a couple beers and some food here after work and spending around $20. I will say that on weekends, you do have to wait in line for a while to be served, which is expected. You ll probably lose your spot if you leave to grab another drink. Five stars all around. Truly one of Fort Worth s best anytime bars.

One of my fav pubs in Fort Worth. If you are craving a juicy flavourful cheesy burger get the double slider. The fries are always yum, I like to order them extra crispy. Happy friendly bar staff and clean tables and restrooms. DOG FRIENDLY too and a patio area. 100% would recommend

Came here during Christmas when they had it decked out for the holidays. I loved the decorations, the food was actually really good, and the drinks were tasty. Only downside was that the bartender was a little rude and walked away when I was trying to order and made a snarky comment when she came back, but I get that it was super busy for the holidays and she was probably feeling overwhelmed so I didnt let it bother me too much. As the night went on we didnt have any further issues so overall the service was pretty good and would definitely recommend this place - especially around the holidays.

Came here Saturday night. Had one beer that came out to $5.43. I tipped $3. Imagine my surprise to see my card has an additional $20 charge that I did not authorize. Not only that but this bar has no way to contact them- no phone number or email listed. Very shady and not ok at all. I will not come back to this bar again. What sucks is everything else was kosher- the service etc. Shady business and not ok at all. Update: Looked at my account today and the separate $20 charge fell off. So idk if they put a hold for whatever reason or not but regardless still shady and if they had a number to contact them, they easily could have explained the situation. As stated previous, I will not be back.

This isn t what I would call a real bar. We walked in and saw about five dogs walking around. Saw one up on the table, saw a dog sniff a girls, rear end, and surprised she didn t get upset. She was annoyed. It was a petting bar. Also, there s no service. You have to go to the bar yourself and get a drink which could be very time-consuming. I ordered onion rings and they burnt them to a crisp. I returned them and got another burnt order. No service, no wait staff, but the atmosphere was nice except for all the pets. What s the deal with everybody bringing their pets into restaurants and bars where their dander and fur gets on everything. There are living Spaces in this area and I guess when people walk their dogs they just feel like coming in. I must say the bartenders are pretty cool . It s not their fault there s no wait staff to help their customers. One last thing they force a tip on you. But, you do all the work.

This is a must try bar any time of year. I like to tell people it s like a cocktail bar dressed as a dive bar. During the holiday season they go all out on decorations, they constantly have fun events going on like steak night and great football watching parties. The drinks are incredible, their tiki drinks are a go to for me. Plus they have a great food truck that supplies incredible burgers, wings, and steaks. Go out of your way to come here. Parking: There is usually plenty of parking near by, I wouldn t expect anything more than a short walk.

The buy one get one slider deal they have on Tuesdays is reason enough to go to Nickel City. Their sliders are some of the best in the city. There s a ton of other reasons to check out this place including great cocktails, bourbons, scotch, and tequila. The bartenders are super nice and helpful too. So it is $3 for a small CAN of Soda with 20% popup tip forced on everyone for everything . Also zero gluten free options. Wouldnt kill you to add gluten free bread, super easy and simple. The area this place is located pretty much demands those options. You dont have Iced Tea? What state are you in again? Ridiculous. Nickel city always does a Christmas pop up theme right after thanksgiving. They have a happy hour and whiskey Wednesday. Great spot for a handcrafted cocktail. My husband enjoys their bourbon selection. They have a good truck on site, sliders and pizza sticks and more! Must see at Christmas time. Parking can be limited on the street.

This place was so fun! I loved the pop up bar but holy guacamole was it pricey - average of $15/drink and you dont get the fun cup (they even did bag checks at the door to make sure you didnt steal anything), ha! + 20% tip due to the pop up... Fine by me but just giving all of you a heads up.... So I only got one drink. If the prices were lower I probably wouldve gotten two. The old fashioned was delicious. Service was very poor and probably took around 25 minutes to get attention - it wasnt even packed. There were also dirty cups and napkins stashed up on the bar and nothing wiped down. After that we were pretty much forgotten.... Eek. Aside from all this it was very fun to go to the pop up and spend time chatting since music was not very loud.

It was my first time attending this bar. They were participating in the black lagoon pop up which is a halloween theme event. The bar decorations did not disappoint. They had a lot of animatronics and unique decorations through the bar. They had a special drink menu for the event that included non alcoholic options. I ordered the book of blood and the silent scream. Unfortunately, the drinks were absolutely awful. They weren t tasty or enjoyable. I couldn t even finish both drinks. I think it s still cool place to visit this holiday season, however, I suggest saving your money. Stick to the drinks you already enjoy in this establishment.

Came in there for first time with a group of friends sat night. Someone from Tulips suggested this place, so we gave it a try .The bartender was extremely rude and arrogant, not friendly at all. Almost left strictly cause he had an attitude EVERYTIME we ordered something. Definitely recommend getting a friendly bartender cause the atmosphere was fun and laid back, great music playing. Top 5 best bartenders in Fort Worth. Best burgers in Texas, especially for the price. This is one of my favorite places to visit. Just a down to earth place to drink and eat at reasonable prices with staff that will take care of you.

This is a clean, fun place with a great vibe before and after dark, with good specials but I came here to say DO NOT SLEEP ON THE FOOD. I believe it is the best smash burger slider in Fort Worth, and I said what I said.

Came on a Thursday evening. Was a bit slow. Place has a nice vibe. Bartenters were not very attentive. Ordered a Vodka tonic. A bit steep at $8.00 especially when you get served Townes Vodka that is about $10.00 for a bottle. If youre going to charge these prices then your bartenders and a quality of liquor needs to step up their game.

Nice little place with chill vibes. Staff is nice and they make good drinks. Gave them three stars because the few times Ive gone, their food truck was out of commission. On top of that, parking in the area is horrible.

Frosted Irish coffee is all you need to know. I had just a few days in Fort Worth on my last visit, and I was here for two of them. The bar staff is friendly, the drinks are cold, and the food is tasty.

This is the peoples bar. I feel like anyone can just come here, feel welcome and have a good time. The bartenders are super friendly and the food is really good. This has become one of my favorite bars.

Really fun & super cool / cozy atmosphere! Great place to go for a drink with friends on the weekend. Also could be a great date night - the lighting and seating can be really intimate. I will definitely be returning! Always clean and Tuesdays are the day to go with 2 for 1 sliders.

Hard place to get a drink, and I think that s how they make money but I could be wrong. Been in a few times and they always have a nice size crowd which creates the situation of having to awkwardly stand behind other customers sitting at the bar waiting for service, sometimes longer than what should be acceptable. Maybe create a bar area for standing customers or is that too simple..smh Food truck outside is spot on and the place has a nice vibe to it. Find a way get me my drinks without the stress and you have a great addition to the Fort Worth bar scene.

Good place for friends , family. And food. Halloween decorations looked awesome . Bring a wooden nickel to get a shot of whiskey and a beer for ONLY 5 cents. If you havent tried their double slider with bacon and eggs and jalapeños with house sauce at del Ray out on the back porch , then you never had a burger before .

Ive been going to Nickel City for about 6 months now and am surprised I havent written a review by now! I love going here, theyve got great drinks, great bar food (which apparently has always been consumed before being pictured), and wonderful staff. I swear Id only gone 3 or 4 times before it seemed like everyone knew my name (What is this, Cheers?) First time in? Get their famous slider and one of their daily specials. Weekends can get really busy but if its a nice night they have plenty of seating on the patio too.

Love love love this place. Exceptional drinks with a knowledgeable staff. Atmosphere is great and the food truck in the back is even better. I suggest the sliders, wings and chili cheese tots. The drinks can be a bit pricey but you get what you pay for so its worth it.

At first when we got there we stood at the bar a long time and they looked at us but it felt like they ignored us. Finally I walked to the other side and was able to get help. You have to order at the bar, kinda inconvenient when your setting at a table. The drinks were pricey $13 plus but they were good. The atmosphere was cool. They went all out for Xmas. I d come back and give it another try. Oh, they will check your bags on the way out so don t steal their cool cups lol. Guess it s been a problem.

Visited 12/10. Place was packed with nowhere to sit. Finally wrestled a table 10 mins after arriving. Ordered drinks, tots, and a sandwich. After 8 mins a random looking guy walked in from the alley....yes the outside alley and brought food so stale that i almost thought it was a joke. Not funny. Oh and the tv was playing a 30 min infomercial for disabled kids which only brought the mood down. Better times elsewhere. Walked out sad and with bad taste in my mouth.

Another Main Street gem that did not disappoint at all! This Christmas pop up bar engulfed us in the spirit of Saint Nick himself. Fun cocktails to drink with even more whimsical beverage vessels to showcase and to buy! I hope they keep doing this for years to come!
