I was in the restaurant for a meal and I noticed a young employee getting chewed out by two managers barraged with all kinds of remarks and basically treated less than human.After I spoke with the employee and the managers Dedra and Jenna constantly use their power to control the staff and continue to send home this young employee because he was doing what he was told to but apparently wasn t knowing his place . This is clearly an establishment with horrible managers that will treat their employees less than and try to put them down.

I had dinner there for my Birthday Saturday 9/21/24 and ordered the catfish dinner and was not pleased with it. I have ordered this same dish and this particular day was different from before. The portions were like lunch size portions and the buttered masters were not buttered and there was a small portion as well. The hush puppies were not cooked all the way and the coleslaw was wilted. This experience was not great as my previous visits. I was very excited to hamy friend eat here but was very disappointed on this day.

Fish and Chips had mushy fish. Wanted all white chicken for Fried Chicken and they were charging $4 more! Our server, Cameron mumbled, couldnt always understand. Ordered Peach Cobbler and it was tasty, but the crust was mushy. The atmosphere is old school and now with the modern times.

Everything from our entry for The Rim Waterside!! The hostess was so friendly, polite & professional. The atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing, from the decor to the setup. This was our first ever visit for my Birthday and the food was undeniably delicious!!! We sat in the bar high tops and Mackenzy was our server, and to say Mackenzy is the embodiment of Service Excellence is an understatement. We will definitely be recommending this to our family and friends. Thank You to everyone who helped make our first visit one to remember, especially on a special occasion. We dined for an early lunch on a Monday and the restaurant was relatively quiet, which was perfect for two friends looking forward to catching up. Our server, Cynthia, was wonderful! She knows the menu and offered detailed descriptions of the dishes and answered all of our questions. The soup of the day was delicious as were the blackened chicken tacos and BLT. The servings were healthy, unfortunately leaving no room for dessert. Cynthia enticed us with the dessert options and encouraged us to come back soon for dessert and coffee, a splendid idea!

When you visit the rim make sure you try to get Cynthia as your waitress. She is the best she knws the food menu up and down and recommends the best things to try! We wanted to compliment James and the musician, Rodney, who was playing live music so we asked to speak with the manager. James, the manager, appeared in about five minutes. The rim has a cool 60 s vibe. It is very eclectically decorated and has a cool vibe. Staff was friendly, service was fast and food was good. We had brunch, I chose the waffle which was good but my husband got the French toast and it was amazing. It comes with a raspberry butter which is delicious, but I prefer regular butter on my waffle but evidently they ran out of butter. Oh well. I will be back:)

The things good things: greens were seasoned well. The live music is good. The not so good things: mashed potatoes are titled buttered mashed but they were not buttery. Crispy buffalo wings were not crispy and they were oversized. The Our Way shrimp were bland; no taste. Catfish was not seasoned well. My mom had the Poblano and said she tasted no mushrooms. It was also warm in there; we were sweating a little. Our waitress was new . Not recommended by me.

I went here because my hairstylist raved about their lemon drops. My waiter was Shaun and he was very knowledgeable about the products, history of the restaurant, and very attentive to us. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice. Definitely a family place, brunch with friends, or even a solo date. We tried the fried mushrooms and they were fried to protection with a flaky coat. For my meal, I got the shrimp and grits and those jalapeño infused grits gave the dish a unique flavor, not spicy at all but flavorful. My friend got the cheesy poblano chicken and it was really good as well. We didn t get lemon drops but we tried the Dahlia and it was very good. My egg had a heart in it and that was the icing on the cake, will be back!!

Breshaun helped us celebrate my daughters 23rd birthday in style! We were a party of 20 and he served us well. Everything was explained and executed with excellence. Bonus was he allowed each party to pay at whatever group the wanted, and he managed to keep that process orderly and swift. We spent over two hours in the restaurant and because of his gracious service, we had a beautiful time! The food was good (seasoning to boot)! I highly recommend the Bulgogi wings( thats what I had). The presentation on the other plates was nice. Shout out to the bartender because my Mocktail Mojito was on point. Tuesday night, not crowded, GREAT experience! Definitely will revisit. Fantastic food with Superior Service! We came here to celebrate my wife s birthday. It was the perfect place for brunch. Some high s to note is the restaurant itself. Super cool with amazing eclectic vibe. The food is great (Avocado Toast was amazing and the burgers are mind blowing, especially the Jalapeño Burger). Top that off with easily the best server I ve ever had PHIL! No one server has ever been this attentive or as professional. We literally wanted to tip him he was so good. Came here for the first time to celebrate my birthday. I made a reservation ahead of time and I arrived 5 minutes early, I stood waiting to be seated for about 10 minutes, as there was nobody in the front of the restaurant to greet me or ask me how many were in my party. Considering I got their signature dish it was not impressive. The chicken was dry, potatoes were ok, and the pablano sauce wasnt anything id brag about. the corn chowder was about the worst corn chowder Ive ever had. My daughter ordered the shrimp, it was overcooked. Atmosphere is cool but people hollering during sports games at a restaurant vs a sports bar didnt make a pleasant experience either. I went here to celebrate a job promotion. I ordered the TEDDY B (Gone) BURGER. This burger is easily in the top 10 best burgers I have ever eaten. Just in case youre curious, I eat a LOT of burgers, in a LOT of places. The service was very attentive and good. The atmosphere was cool and hip. FIRST TIMER . So first the good things GREAT MUSIC FROM THE 60S plays throughout. Im not from that eta just have an old soul. Next the chicken and waffles and greens. Well seasoned. Nice crunch. The chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes was decent but the green beans had a lot of strings in it. Will I be back YES but only to try brunch. I got there just after 2p so they had just stopped brunch. Keep reading if you want to know what i suggest you avoid. Spinach dip very average. Definitely does not seem to be from scratch. Their sign and employees wear tshirts that say scratch made. Not sure what they define as scratch made. Sorry but tasted like something they squeeze from a bag or scoop out of a container that gets shipped in. The kettle chips served with it definitely seem house made but im not feeling that with spinach dip. The Flatbread the served with it saved the day. The sweet tea was weak. No brewed flavor. The shrimp and grits I sent back. Wouldnt recommend. The grits were terribly bland. Oh em gee. Theyre supposed to be jalepeno cheese grits. No cheese in sight so i inquired. Waitress said they blend it in the grits during the cooking. I guess thats why theres no cheese flavor. I was warned not to order the meatloaf. Menu Description sounded good but i was warned ahead of time that its bland. I got the peach cobbler for dessert with ice cream. This was a total let down. If any reading this are peach cobbler fanatics like me dont waste your money. Crust was so bland. No cinnamon sugar taste and overall the peach filing wasnt very sweet at all. Even the vanilla bean ice cream was bland. Sigh. Not much vanilla flavor at all. I even took a couple bites without the cobblee and yea the vanilla flavor was barely detectable odd.

5/5 stars. Today was our first time at The Rim. A nice overcast day on the outdoor patio that s separated from the hustle and bustle of the front shopping area. Very secluded with a beautiful park are shared with the smaller apartment communities behind the strip. I had the best chicken and waffles I ve ever had today! Bone-in crispy chicken with a waffle covered in a blueberry and cinnamon compound butter and syrup. TO DIE FOR. We will be back 1000%. Angel was our server, and though he s only here on the weekends, I d recommend asking for him.

We made reservations more than 2 weeks in advance for a party of 8 so we could have an early Easter gathering. We showed up 15 minutes early and it was obvious they were trying to figure out where to sit us at first and I saw them discussing different options. The hostess asked if we were ok sitting outside, due to my elderly MIL being with us I said maybe and that we would try it. We walked outside to see a group of 20+ people sitting on the patio dancing, cussing( I am no angel but there is a time and place for everything), filming TikToks, when we sat down the wind was very strong and immediately let them know we would prefer a table inside. We waited 10-15 minutes and a manager of some sort says it will be just a moment and asks if we could split into two tables nowhere close to one another. This was not an option as my family is 5 including 3 kids and we were meeting my brother in law and his spouse, and MIL and the entire reason for coming was two spend time together. There was a large group of tables open and I asked if we could have those tables and she replied, no, that is for another reservation. I then said we also have a reservation that was made weeks ago and I do not understand why a table was not ready for us. The manager said that it was ready and it was the outside table, which I told her was not accurate because I overheard the conversation where they were contemplating where to put us. She then says the original table they had for us they could not sit us at because we had children (15,11,9). I asked why and she stated it was near the bar which made no sense because there was another child in that section, so once again I told her I did not believe that was the case and just tell me they forgot about us. Mistakes happen but own up to them. She flat lied to my face and told me the only option was waiting an additional 40 min for a table when there was tables open. At that point my husband was very upset at the way we were treated and how I was being spoken to and we decided to go down the road to Clearfork and have a wonderful dinner at Masero with no wait and EXCELLENT service. Will definitely NEVER try The Rim again and do not recommend

Our table was rocky and the manager didn t want to give us a new table. He had our waitress conveniently placed a stack of coaster under the rocky leg from the bar. I had the salmon and 2 asparagus spares and a lunch room ice cream scoop size of mashed potatoes with no butter. And a tsp of whatever lemon butter glaze that was provided. My food was cold . My husband got the day old soft fried chicken in old grease and waffles with a side of what tasted like can Glory Greens. I know it was Glory Greens in a can because my husband doesn t like fresh greens. My son had The Ultimate Messy sandwich which was actually pretty good he said. I ate his fries. Those were delicious. My daughter had the catfish and said it was HORRIBLE! Over all I d never eat here again. Paid $160 FOR THE WORST MEAL EVER!! HOWEVER THE POTATO CHIPS WERE GOOD! Oh I forgot. Our waitress was sweet and very polite but no table side manors. She handed me a straw with her bare hands instead of wrapping it in a napkin. That causes her an awesomely grand tip. But she was fair. But now days these young people really have no clue how to catheter to people. Save your time and energy and eat somewhere else. Instead of 5 stars. The Rim gets 5 thumbs down this is my opinion of the establishment. The atmosphere is great love the wall decor and especially the HD Heritage Soft Tail hanging from the ceiling in the lobby. Parking: Parking lots over crowded. Spaces are compact size parking.

6 people in our party. Both pizzas, fried fish, two hamburgers and wagu pastrami sandwich with fries. Everything was cold. Our waitress, Olivia, would take bar orders but seemed to disappear after drinks. Had to rely on the other wait staff. When we tried to pay with InKind and use our $50 certificate, she said she didnt know how it worked and then said The Rim didnt take those coupons. We went on Wednesday to hear the sax player. Our first visit and I made a reservation online. We walked in and were greeted immediately. The first think I noticed is the brightness of the room and the fun decor of music and music icons. Our server Cynthia welcomed us and gave us the restaurant overview. Water was bright to the table while we looked over the menu. I asked Cynthia about her favorite menu items. She gave me about 6. Its a pretty big menu and she helped to whittle it down as so many amazing choices were available from the brunch and dinner menu. I asked Cynthia to surprise me and she brought me the pot roast. It was very good. It wasnt dry, but very tender and flavorful. Came with mashed potatoes, green beans, and sweetened carrots which were very tasty. If i had to make one change, offer gravy on the mashed potatoes. My son ordered the stuffed French toast and eggs. He said the French toast with berry coulis was delicious. The manager stopped by to see how we were doing, which was nice. The service was attentive, the room bright and cheery, the food was amazing, and for brunch (with soft drinks) it was about $40. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu (like the short rib and the drinks!) as I think this will be my familys new go-to restaurant. Thank you for an amazing first visit.

Wow! Our party of six stumbled on this restaurant in looking for a place we could actually get a Friday night dinner reservation. It was amazing. Our table was waiting as promised and our server, Cynthia, was outstanding. She had a lot of enthusiasm and was great at recommending entrees and drinks. We tried it all and it was all great. All six of us loved everything we ordered. Our party tried the fried mushrooms, seasoned fries, pot roast, Ellingtons meatloaf, poke tuna salad, spinach salad, fish n chips, jambalaya, Brussel sprouts and bread pudding. I recommend it all! Did I mention they also have happy hour and live music on Wednesdays? I cant wait to go back.

Had a 715 reservation. Wasn t seated til 730 despite being early. Server was kind, but not very attentive. Was out of water and had to ask for more after 20 mins of empty. We waited 25 mins for our appetizer to come, and over an hour for our food. Food was decent but the short rib was not worth the price tag. Doesn t seem like it was trimmed at all. Over half was pure fat. Server asked if we wanted more lemonade, we said no, then took the half a glass that was left Also was told that I couldn t sub for the cornbread skillet and that it is its own thing . Not even for an up charge. Ok fine. I subbed for sweet potato fries. Well I was up charged for that. Come on. Overall a very terrible experience. The best thing was the decorations honestly. If you value time and money, definitely skip this place. For sure on a Saturday night. Your reservation won t make a difference. We won t be back.

Went with another couple on a Friday night. Sat in the bar area at a high top. Love the setting. The atmosphere is very American. James was a great server - attentive, expedient and friendly. The food was wonderful. My 3 piece chicken was just what I wanted - leg, thigh, wing. The light breading was super crisp. They brine the chicken and it was very juicy. My wife s salmon poke bowl was the perfect size and perfectly prepared. Sushi grade salmon. Their homemade chips for an appetizer was the best. I highly recommend the plum Old Fashioned. Parking: I believe there is a parking garage available. I didn t look for it.
