This place is beautiful. The service was ok, the waitress didnt seem to have a lot of experience serving tables but she was very nice. The ramen broth is good, but Im not sure the noodles are actual ramen. They had the texture of angel hair pasta, which is what I believe it was. The pork was also extremely fatty and unappetizing

Very chill vibe with great ramen! Tried this place thanks to a tik tok video and wasnt disappointed. Broth had depth in the flavors, while the noodles were perfectly cooked, while the meat and eggs were top tier! I had the spicy garlic pork shiyo ramen and ended with a order of mochi. This is the first time in a while that I felt full after eating at a ramen place, thanks to the huge portion size! The price is a little higher than alot of ramen places, but the portion size and flavor is worth it.

Went to this ramen shop for the first time. I ordered regular shio ramen and my husband ordered the spicy garlic chicken broth ramen. He requested no bamboo shoots but when the order arrived his had even more bamboo shoots than mine. The broth in both orders wasnt horrible but definitely bland for the price and neither of us finished our bowls. We were ready for the check and it took about 15 minutes for our waiter, who was the only waiter, to come out of the kitchen. All around unimpressed and will not returning

This restaurant is exceptionally well kept and even gazing upon the cooks everything was neat and tidy from their outfits to even the spices lined up. Floors and tables were also clean. Service and food did not mix well however. While our server was waiting for the food to come out he was holding the serving chopsticks in his fist and just running them through his fingers and smacking them through to push through his fist repeatedly which I did not want to use to serve my food with. As our food got set on the table we were over halfway done with the first appetizer before we got share plates to eat with. The restaurant wasn t even busy in which I could understand utensils plates and napkins being late, it had only two other tables eating but our server just kept walking and spinning around and just being very unprofessional. We got the fried dumplings and calamari and my experience eating them was slightly underwhelming, it needed salt and was little pieces food in these giant carcasses of shells of breading, just way too think and crunchy. I also got the miso ramen and asked for it spicy and saw on my receipt at the end that it was supposed to be spicy but wasn t. The broth in the ramen was actually very delicious and I quite enjoyed it. But it could not carry the blandness of everything else. The meat in my ramen was very rubbery and so bland and tasted like it had been boiling in water all day. I had one half an egg on top for garnish and broken up pieces of the other half somewhere in the bottom. The mushrooms were nice but those were the only things besides noodles and an overwhelming amount of green onions. I love mochi and was going to order some after I finished my ramen but my server just put my check down next to me RIGHT after I started eating.

BEST RAMEN IN THE DFW AREA! Seriously, I have tried probably 20 different ramen places and this took the cake. The cleanliness and ambiance inside were amazing, the service was incredible, and the food was so fresh and high quality. HIGHLY recommend stopping by here for lunch, dinner, or just a quick appetizer. (Crispy chicken appetizer is amazing and Pork Shoyu ramen is to die for)

The food here deserves 5-star recognition. I am always picky for the quality of food. Here the food really exceed my expectation and they are one of the best ramens in the DFW area in my opinion. We ordered ramen and some appetizers, all tasty and fresh. The service was good and warm-welcoming although there is room for improvement in terms of communication. Definitely a great addition to the food options we have in FloMo. Will go back.

Not sure what the bad reviews are about or if people are just ordering the wrong thing but this is my second visit to Ramen Akira and I ve loved both ramens I had. Spicy Garlic Pork Shoyu was good on the first visit, but wished it would have been more spicy. But the Spicy Pork Shio on this visit, ordered extra spicy was basically perfect. It had that pleasing dark orange color and the broth was to die for. Oddly enough the pork in the Shio was a little more fatty and not as great as the Shoyu, but again, both still excellent. Very excited to have a solid ramen option in this area. Every other table I saw seemed very pleased and finishing their dishes. Also, the bowls are massive. Lots of ramen places charge $17 for Ramen that feels half the size of Akira so come hungry. Service very attentive and nice both times as well. Extra Spicy Garlic Pork Shio is in my near future.

Cute decor and interior. We went at 7p on a Friday so it was understandably busy but they seemed very understaffed. The server tried her hardest and gave best effort but needed help. Tables were messy, took a while to get anything including weird menus that are very blurry and difficult to read. Several wines were presented on the bar shelves but unavailable for purchase, having only 3 mediocre wines, cold sake; no Japanese beer or hot sake sold here. Gyoza and edamame were great. Spicy pork garlic Ramen was meh, under seasoned, not that great of a flavor and no real wow factor. Would maybe give them another shot during the week, but there are definitely better options elsewhere.

Ive been to Ramen Izakaya Akira at Lewisville and this place seem to be a bit different. The Spicy Garlic Pork Shoyu Broth Ramen tasted off, as it was more sour than I expected. Furthermore, the egg for my friends Spicy Garlic Pork Shio Broth Ramen was fully cooked, like a hard boiled egg, which was quite disappointing. The service was great though and the restaurant was clean and nice. I was somewhat disappointed that the quality and taste of the original shop was not reproduced in this one, but I hope theyll improve with time.

As a long time fan of the original Ramen Akira, I had some expectations before eating here. I got the pork shoyu ramen. However, I was vastly disappointed with the quality of the ramen compared to the original location. Portions of the noodles were uncooked, the broth did not slap and had much less depth than expected, the egg was cold and overcooked. The bamboo shoots were unevenly flavored. The chashu had no flavor and seemed like it was overboiled in the ramen broth, with a very gelatinous texture. The soup was hot at least and the servers were attentive. The wall graffiti and art is pretty cool though. Likely, will just go to the original location over this location.

Its finally open! My wife and I have been low-key stalking this place for what feels like a year or more now. Saw on one of the FloMo facebook groups that they were finally having their soft opening so we had our Thursday date night there since it was cold and drizzly. This place is great! We both ended up trying the pork ramen with shoyu broth. I got mine spicy and she got hers regular. Spicy was better, but they were both outstanding! Weve tried all the ramen joints nearby and this one was top-notch. The pork was perfectly melt-in-your-mouth tender. The noodles had just the right amount of bite to them. While I like my ajitama cut in half and these were whole, they were perfeftly marinated, just the right temperature, and perfectly jammy in the yolks. The servings were decently sized, though Id like to see the prices lower by a buck or two. I get it, its Lakeside, and the economy and whatnot, but it was still a skonch high for a ramen joint. Nevertheless, this place was legit, and delicious. We will be back! Looking forward to the shio ramen.

This was my first experience with this place and it couldn t have been much worse. I was feeling under the weather and wanted to get some ramen to help me feel better. When I finally got the energy, I ordered the Spicy Garlic Chicken Ramen and the Chicken Karaage. Things go pretty smooth and I paid $32 which was a little high, but decent for an upscale place. I get home and the only thing in my bag is the Ramen. Now I have to either go back or lose money because they messed up my order. When I called, they offered to redo the whole order, so I went back. I get back to the restaurant and the food isn t ready so I wait patiently. This time my order is correct and I go home to finally eat an hour later. I open up the fried chicken and take a bite, only to find out the batter is partially uncooked and the chicken is undercooked and fatty because they rushed my order so they could close and go home. It tasted like I was eating flour and chicken fat. So after all of this, I had to throw my chicken away anyhow. Next, I move on to the ramen. The noodles and ingredients were separate from the broth which was a good thing. I was disappointed that the chicken for the broth looked like it came from a frozen packet in the grocery store and had ZERO seasoning. I wanted the veggie ramen, but for some reason veggies cost more than chicken here .I dumped everything in and let it soak for a little bit. Overall, the ramen was pretty good. The service and fried chicken pieces were horrible. If I ever go back I ll dine in and get the ramen so I don t get sick eating raw chicken.
