I just had my wedding here on 21/09/24 and I can t even describe how beautiful everything was! Maribel is really kind, workin with her was a dream, all her team was amazingly organized and talented. All our guest kept telling me how beautiful the venue is. I would give it more stars if I could, working with them was an amazing experience, weddings can be stressful but she answered all our questions and helped us with everything we needed.

We had a date booked along with a deposit and were called two months later to notify us that the venue was closing down for construction and no longer a venue. They offered us something else but we were not able to keep the same date. Not sure why this is still advertised as a venue.

The place is nice because it is historic but the service is not that good, we hired a wedding venue and when they showed us the package everything looked good, until you have questions and you have to talk and send a message over and over again without a response, they can improve their Customer service, I understand that people are busy but if they are hiring a service you expect answers, service providers also complained about having to wait for a response regarding schedules and delivery methods. At the event everything went well, they just need more staff because at the time of serving dinner it was very slow, The first tables finished eating when the last ones were still waiting to be served, the chairs need to be replaced or tightened because they were loose and dancing, Joanna She was in charge on the day of the event and she was very friendly. Lastly, they need to add access for the disabled because they do not have a ramp for wheelchairs. We had a special guest who could not attend because they do not have accessibility for the disabled.

Araceli 1 year ago & 4 months ago This place is amazing. Attended ny cousins wedding here on the 1st floor and everything was beautiful. From the venue to the food and cake was just perfect. I also attended my nephews wedding on the 10th floor, and the view is just breathtaking. The attention to detail was definitely noticed. It is 100% True, that the staff and owner at this venue,, really focus on making the bride and grooms special day non-stress, special, and memorable. Highly recommend this venue.

Recently had our wedding here and it was amazing. A little confusion with the dj with some parts of the night but overall kept the party going. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone. They do everything in house the food was delicious all my guest really enjoyed it(chicken plablano) and the cake was perfect as well. They include unlimited beer which was a good selling point. Over we were so happy with the venue and everyone had so much fun. Also the location is amazing right in front of the San Jacinto park downtown.

The 10th floor of Cortez Ballrooms was the perfect space for our July 2023 wedding. Maribel and Becky helped us pull off an absolutely amazing night and worked seamlessly with all of our other vendors. We were very impressed with the quality of the food, cake, and DJ they provided, and the entire space caters perfectly to an elegant, classic wedding. Thank you Cortez!

First and foremost, the beauty of the historic building is definitely a highlight of the Cortez Ballrooms. The venue exudes charm and elegance, making it a perfect location for a wedding ceremony and reception. The luxurious ambiance of the space really made your wedding day feel special. Maribel, the owner of the venue, is also a standout. Her dedication to ensuring that your wedding day is perfect is truly impressive. She is very easy to work with and goes above and beyond to make sure all of your needs are met. Her willingness to work with your vendors to ensure everything runs smoothly is definitely a plus. The food provided by the venue was outstanding, as was the cake. Your guests were clearly impressed by the quality of both. Additionally, the chairs and linens were beautiful and added to the overall look and feel of the space. The DJ provided by the venue was great as well, and helped keep the party going throughout the night. Overall, it sounds like the Cortez Ballrooms provided everything you needed to make your wedding day a success. In conclusion, the Cortez Ballrooms is a wonderful wedding venue that offers a beautiful historic space, excellent food and drink options, and exceptional service. My wife and I got married at the Cortez Ballroom on December 18. The hall is breathtaking and the view is phenomenal, especially at night. The beautiful hall is managed by a truly exceptional staff. They made the event smooth, memorable, and special. The staff, led by Maribel, was sensitive to our feelings at every step of the planing process, making themselves available whenever we needed them, which is more than most people will. As the wedding approached, they followed up with us and coordinated with the appropriate parties to ensure everything worked as they promised, and they delivered. They are efficient and passionate in their work. They really gave us a first rate experience in every aspect. Our wedding was amazing and it wouldnt have been possible without them. We had my sister s wedding here in November and it was magical! The location is perfect! You can t beat downtown El Paso and all our out of town guests were very impressed by the venue and location. The Cortez is an El Paso hidden gem. Plus Maribel, Becky and the whole crew were wonderful!! Very easy to work with and beyond helpful. We seriously can t thank them enough for everything they did. Picking the Cortez is a perfect for anybody wanting a memorable event :)!

Absolute gem. The character of the building, and historical detailing, made this our perfect wedding venue. Maribel and Becky were beyond helpful and communicated every aspect our day. They worked to bring my vision to life on the table decor and color scheme. Being able to utilize the 10th floor for our cocktail hour let us showcase all the building had to offer before our ballroom reception. I cant stress how accommodating they were to make the day perfect and were so helpful leading up to, and day of - if there were any issues day of, I had no idea. My wife and I cannot say enough good things about the Cortez. We began our planning over a year ago and Maribel (and her staff) was with us every step of the way. Anytime we had questions, needed clarification, or even just reassurances, the Cortez staff were promptly there to assist. During the planning phase, Maribel worked with us to ensure that everything we wanted would be incorporated. Regardless, we were still concerned just because of how many small details we wanted in our wedding. There was no need for concern. The Cortez staff set up everything exactly how we wanted. This level of professionalism carried over to our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception. The day was beyond perfect and it is in no small part thanks to Maribel and her amazing staff. None of the above even takes into account the beautiful architecture and wonderful location that the Cortez is in. My family (who are not from El Paso) was in awe. My wife and I cannot recommend the Cortez enough. We wish the Cortez staff the very best and thank them all profusely for making our day perfect!

An amazing location to host an event. The building is very ornate and built in a time where no expense was spared on detail. The building itself is an event. Formally a grand hotel sadly turned office building. This company took advantage of its mainly unused ballroom, kitchen and bars to hold events there. They do a great job and I recommend this venue for any event.

Had a horrible experience at the ballroom, the wedding planner Maribel caused the event to be unpleasant, because of her poor wedding planning skills the food took 2 hours (seriously not an exaggeration) to be served. Because of her pride and wanting to do it her way the event dragged out and the schedule was not followed. Maribel was even petty enough to go search for the church of someone related to the groom and leave a bad review at the church which she has never attended. She discriminates against Christians because it s different from what she believes in and made the Cortez ballroom look bad in turn. Highly don t recommend this place for any event, there are far more better venues in El Paso such as Grace Gardens, Epic Rail-yard event center to name a few.

Have your event here! My husband and I decided to get married very last minute and thought it would be stressful but thanks to the amazing staff and Maribel everything turned out perfect. They were attentive and great listeners, they all took the time to understand what we wanted (even though we ourselves didn t really know what we wanted!) Maribel will guide you and be of great help to plan your event. Our whole family and friends were amazed by the service and how beautiful this place is. And let s not forget the tasty cake baked by Margarita.

DJ is BADDDDDDD!!!!! same DJ from terra nova.. staff is friendly but dont speak english. The most important part of a party for me is the music and it was the worst, very frustrating. Alot of chairs are not sturdy. My wife did fall because a chair broke. be careful with those grey chairs! good experience overall with the owner and manager. will definately change the DJ if there is a next time. Food was good as well as the cake. 2 stars because of the chair breaking and the worst DJ in el paso.

The venue was beautiful. But everything else absolutely sucked. We add my sons wedding there on Saturday 11/23/19. My daughter-in-law went to Sandra, the Cortez point of Contact, in September with concerns about the parade that was happening the same day and offered to move her wedding date. Sandra assured her that it would be fine, that the Cortez staff would work out all of the details and besides they had a contract!!! After not getting any calls from the staff,he week before the wedding, my daughter-in-law called to make sure that everything was worked out with the Parade issue and was told that everything had been worked out. The day of the wedding 30 to 40 members of the wedding party were turned away and told by police that they were not allowed to go to the Cortez. The Cortez ballroom used Bluetooth speakers for the wedding - a 1/3 of the way through the wedding a Spanish exorcist voice came through the speaker upfront (it was from the parade). The speakers were finally shut off. When they came backup, the pastor that was marrying my son and daughter-in-law kept fading in and out. The song that was picked out for my son and daughter-in-law were supposed to walk out on didnt start playing until after they were done. The wrong DJ showed up 2 hrs. late for the reception with the wrong music line up. The food was cold, the servers were horrible - they served food to the first 4 tables and my daughter-in-law had to stop them to ask that she and my son be served next. If that wasnt bad enough, none of the servers spoke any English and Sandra was nowhere to be found (which was most of the time). When it was time to cut the cake Sandra was a no show. I asked for a box to put the top tier of the cake in, I was handed an empty 7up 12 pack box. I was finally able to get a cheap serving container from somebody. If I could, Id give the staff a negative 50 stars. Steer clear of the Cortez Ballroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!
