I have been to many Puerto Rican restaurants around the United States. This one actually rates in the not so good. The good: Parking, location and size of the place. The bad: The service is really bad compared to restaurants of its class. You must have a LOT of patience to be attended to. The food is average not so good that we can say just eatable. I love the idea of gastronomic diversity in El Paso, with a little better service and maybe a better cook the place has potential. The prices are affordable.

I went today at 11:00am ordered a bifongo solo to go. When I got Home it was a plain mofongo, called and left message never got a response. I paid for a bifongo, yuca and plantain. By the way, I go often, and this mofongo was super dry. Don t think I will return. Server: Xiomara V check #1.

Excellent cup of coffee. Went in for my first time with no expectations. Lovely atmosphere with tables to do your work, comfortable couches, and swings! I only got a cup of coffee, so I can t speak for the rest of it, but the staff was friendly, the coffee was good, and the atmosphere was quiet, peaceful, and cheery. I m not sure what more you could expect from a coffee shop. $5 is a little much for a cup of coffee, but coffee just seems to be expensive in this town (from my limited experience), and this isn t more expensive than anywhere else I have been.

I couldnt find the restaurant at 1st & couldnt really believe its location, I guess, after hearing such preeminent things about this place. Upon arrival we were greeted immediately by our server who brought over our drinks within minutes & took our appetizer order which was also brought out immediately. We had the Queso Fundido Con Chorizo & Tostadas, we thought it was delicious, but I have had better. Then the main course came; I ordered The Sampler as my main course because I wanted to try a little bit of everything. My date ordered Arroz Con Jueyes & Camaron. It was pretty tasty. Both of us got A LOT of food on our plates & we each took about half of it home for todays lunch. The only issue that I found with the food is that it lacked salt & everything that was stuffed like the empanadas & the alcapurria were just stuffed with ground beef that had been cooked without adding any flavor to it. Luckily what saved them was the great garlic sauce they make. Ill definitely be making another visit!

Ordered 6/14/24 NEVER AGAIN- garbage Ok, service was good, food was slow coming out. The sazón was ok. The white rice was undercooked, habichuelas were alright. The pernil was flavorful but very shredded. The alcapurrias had too much masa to filling but the filling was good. Tostones were not hot and crispy unfortunately. It s a good quick fix if you re craving Boricua food and don t feel like cooking. Portions were large with the focus of mainly white rice. I have yet to find a gem for Boricua food. Help!

I was in your restaurant yesterday and unfortunately, did not have a good experience. I ordered the pork chops with arroz con Gandules, and a side of Tostones. The food came out and the arroz con gandules looked well prepared, but it was not. It had a funny taste to it, and it was not cooked all the way. The waitress changed it to white rice and beans and unfortunately, it was still not cooked. It didn t taste right. Not even the beans. I tried to eat it, but could not it was horrible. Never have. I had anything like it. I ended up leaving it on the plate and finish my meal with the Tostones with the burnt pork chops that were more like jerky. This is not the first time I have been to your restaurant. It has always been a good experience. Not sure what happened yesterday. I suggest that you look into your chef s cooking practices. By the way, I was not alone. There were two other people with me who had pretty much the same and both told me they did not like that rice or beans. Rice and beans are our staple food. I m not sure how that one gets screwed up. I hope you take this as constructive criticism and not a complaint. Please check and see what the chef is doing in the kitchen. He is screwing things up for you.

Terrible service literally stood waiting to be helped for 10 min and the lady seen us kind you it was a little busy not too crazy. We figured it d be busy so we tried to call on the phone to order ahead and they didn t answer the phone called 4 times. It s just very inconvenient when you have limited time for lunch. I think they should at least be more courteous to the customers. She didn t even acknowledge us. But everyone sitting down was already taken care of with food or already done with food. So I personally didn t think it was acceptable the way we were treated.

My wife, myself and a few people from her unit which is from Puerto Rico had dinner here. And I must say I was not impressed with the food. I ordered the Tacos Arrachera (4 Tacos) and the meat was salty, tough and the tortillas were hard. My wife ordered the Sandwich De Churrasco. Her bread was hard and meat salty as well. We also ordered a Quesito which was flaky, bland and didnt have much filling. Ive never had one before so Im not sure if its suppose to be presented like that. We tried somebodys Alcapurrias De Carne and that was actually good. A member of our party sent his food back not sure why and I dont speak Spanish so I cant relay what was said but apparently the cook or someone was upset that food got sent back. Now the drinks were delicious. I cant tell you what I ordered because it was a Puerto Rican cocktail. But if I recommend you try anything here its definitely the drinks. The murals on the walls were beautiful. And the decor elsewhere was nice. I dont see myself returning but dont let my experience stop you from trying them. Parking: Depending on the time of day and how many people you have the parking might be difficult. The restaurant is in a small plaza. We had a bigger party so spots were limited and people had to park on the street.

I originally tried the Tripleta churrasco sandwhich via Grubhub, I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwhich so thought Id actually patron the restaraunt. I asked for the Tripleta but was charged and received a regular churassco sandwhich, I took this order to go so when I called the restaraunt back to inform them of the mistake the young lady had me on hold for almost 15 mins and that store had one customer in there when I was there. I had to drive BACK to the restaraunt to tell them they made a mistake, The waitress said Oh the mistake was with the kitchen, a new chef. I simply wanted the Tripleta sandwhich that I asked for initially, and she was the one who took my order! They charged me a second time for a mistake that was made on the restaraunts end! Fortunately the sandwhich was delicious, but I think if I want anything from there again Grubhub shall have to suffice sad to say because the atmosphere in said is rather lovely.

Excellent vallet who didnt even need to get in my car. They just put the car on this big truck thing and moved it away. Kid-friendliness: My 2 month old loved the ride. Every dish was a flop. No flavor, over salted, dry meats, chicken under cooked. 787, seriously, you need someone who can cook puerto Rican food. I dont recommend any of the dishes.

Food was good, worthy of 4 stars. Paella was good, but Ive had better, hence the score. The rest of our group also seemed to enjoy their food. However, ignore the pricing on the paper menu and use the QR code on the table instead for menu pricing. This caught us off guard and the meal was much more expensive than we had anticipated. The server should have made this clear before we ordered or at least the prices should be crossed out on the paper menu. The server was very polite and helpful. Still its a good place for Puerto Rican food.

The food was mediocre at best but the worst part was that I was missing items in my to go order and one of the items I got, morsilla, or blood sausage cost me about $8 and they gave me 4 tater tot size pieces that were burnt so bad it looked and felt like charcoal. Completely inedible. They went in the trash and of course, I will never return to this place again. Extremely disappointing and not worth the food prices!

I am very sorry to say, but true Puerto Rican Cuisine has changed for the worst!!! My wife and I went to this place and order the Sancocho that came with Arroz con Gandules and I ordered the Pernil with Arroz Blanco with Habichuelas. On the side we ordered 2 orders of Alcapurrias with Carne (Because on the Website, even though it shows 2 per order on the photo, you only get 1), to me that is false advertisement, but that s Ok, let s continue. Here are the problems that we encountered and that honestly, I do not think we are ever going back, and hopefully help someone else make a wise decision! -The Sancocho tasted just like a Caldo de Res, nothing more and nothing less. -The Arroz with Gandules and the Arroz Blanco was hard, like it came from a batch made earlier, that came out of the refrigerator and then put into the microwave before serving, and to top it off, it was not warmed enough, or maybe it was made fresh but simply uncooked. - The Habichuelas had a very good casero (Homemade) taste, but they were cold, again, probably came out of the refrigerator and then not nuked enough. - And finally the Pernil, Ohhhhhhh my GOD, it was not even seasoned like a True Puerto Rican Pernil There are 5 simple ingredients that go into the pernil. Salt, Pepper, Oregano, Olive Oil and Lots of fresh garlic, and that goes for the lechon as well .THAT S IT! Some people add Sofrito, Recaito, Adobo, Sazon and some little and I repeat, some little Citrus. But noooooooooooooo, the cook or the chef had to make his or her own twist or version and added so much &^%&$ into it that it was inedible and unenjoyable. P.S. Beer is too expensive and the Medalla Beer is only 10 ounces (Lite by the way), and not 12 ounces, like the rest like the Coronas! Again, I can only speak from our experience yesterday; maybe hopefully somebody else has a better one than us! GOOD LUCK!!! Parking: Plenty for what the place is!!!

A Puerto Rican cafeteria type of restaurant, Huge place with paintings of the great baseball player/ humanitarian Roberto Clemente on the wall. You have to wait a bit because food is made on the spot. Food was good but the mashed plantain dish came with a clear chicken broth not a thicker gravy made with pork or beef, onions and spices, the way my mother in law made it. Plantain fritters were huge and crispy. Caribbean Rice was spot on! Steamed white rice is also available. A Pleasant Waitress chatted with us. If you order rice, beans, plantain fritters a la carte youll have a high in fiber and Potassium vegetarian meal. Vegetarian options: Steamed Rice, beans, Plantain Fritters, avocado

I ordered 2 pasteles, the taste was not what I expected. Too much masa not enough meat and hard as a brick. The restaurant has a variety of tasty dishes but the Pasteles are not one of them.

My order was messed up and it took a while to get my food. When I eventually got it, the fried pork chops were still frozen in the middle. The waitress had it redone, but waited longer to eat. Once I got it, the food tasted OK. It is expensive, but you do get a lot of food. The juices are not natural and they do not serve avocado unfortunately. The beef empanada was too greasy/oily, but tasted OK. I would try looking elsewhere for Caribbean food.

The food overall was not bad, tasty enough. The Flan that we had as dessert was not very good the custard was overcooked and had scrambled and the caramel was burnt. The food is a tad expensive for what it is. Though it is tough to blame them in this economy.

Best Shrimp Mofongo Criollo I have had! I ve had mofongo in VA, NC and FL in restaurants and at out family friends houses and I enjoyed the flavorful home style version here. Lots of big shrimp, moist with an almost double sized proportion of plantains. The service was excellent and the place was spotless. Disclaimer* I am not Puerto Rican .I do however enjoy eating the food. Like almost everywhere in El Paso, it s not cheap but we ll worth it!

Aloha from da Bigpake; so WOW is all I can about this Puerta Rican dining experience. It was more than I had expected for sure. I only had the Cuban Sand but I will be returning to try so many more dishes in the coming weeks. The alure of this place is all internal, you have to past the outside strip mall to see and experience this amazing place. Meet you all there..
