Nice museum. Enjoyed some of the exhibits very much (history of music in EP!) Experience with staff ranged from very helpful and interesting to unknowledgeable. I wanted a little more overall, but my father and I had a pleasant visit. Kind of sleepy, and parking wasnt optimal, but a good way to spend part of the day.

Recently visited this museum with family who was visiting from out of State. Considering El Paso has its roots in American western history, I was disappointed to discover there is little of that to be found in this museum. However, what you WILL find is a section solely dedicated to the history of indigenous and Mexican transgenders. Simply absurd and disappointing.

The museum is great but unfortunately the service is terrible. After a great time looking around the museum I wanted to buy a few items from the Mercadiro Monarca and I was not able to due to employees being on lunch break. I came back an hour later and turns out its a three hour lunch break. No employees around to actually help with services made my experience go from a 5 to a 2. Its unfortunate to have to leave this review but the museum should have employees available on standby or not let everyone go on break at the same time? Make it make sense.

One of the most boring museums I ve ever visited. Whoever curated the museum not only had little to work with, but failed to even label one of their largest and most interesting items, the huge cart. I went to a privately owned shop in Ruidoso that had its own museum that was about the same size and had far more interesting items, including Elvis Presley s military uniform, but a city-run museum can t find better items? Then again, expecting the city government of El Paso to do anything worthwhile may be where I went wrong to begin with.

Entrance is free. No food or drinks are allowed inside the building. Is a nice place to take your family. It has a lot of history. Staff in is very nice In friendly. The places very clean. They need a better display of souvenirs and better price on them. They have to be something commemorative of the museum, above all, and have the name of the museum.

This free museum is well laid out, airy and spacious with several interesting sets of exhibits. We spent two hours here wandering around and particularly appreciated the thoughtful and inclusive historical narrative. There are excellent accommodations for breastfeeding, sensory issues, wheelchairs etc. and staff are knowledgeable and friendly. I didn t post too many photos of exhibits so you can discover them yourself, but you will walk away with a thorough overview of the history of the area for all inhabitants. There are areas of focus such as local neighborhoods and Black history. All signage is in English and Spanish with some braille.

The space is quite nice but the exhibits are a bit limited and lackluster when compared to other nearby museums in the area. The upstairs gallery on modern interpretation of the Mayan left quite a lot to the imagination and wasnt my thing. I appreciate that this is a free offering but grateful that was the case if I had paid I would have left more disappointed.

The first stop when arriving in El Paso is the History Museum. Only in this way can we better grasp the angle from which to understand this city. In other words, the positioning of the passage city located on the US-Mexico border (El Paso means the Pass in Spanish) First, the US military distributed border-type military garrison bases Since the 18XX era, this place has been a gateway between the United States and Mexico. It is a trade channel, a cultural channel, and a channel for racial integration. It was not until the 1950s in modern times that Mexican Americans here began to For the rights granted by law and urban development and other welfare Start fighting for the rights you deserve through the democratic movement Relevant important moments are well organized and presented The current exhibition on the second floor (2022/09) is Sunrise and Sunset at the Border Because it is a desert area, the afterglow of sunrise and sunset is not only yellow There s also orange, and there s also blue, purple and pink. The first-place work cleverly uses the Mexican mother to lead her daughter The little girls body is illuminated yellow and orange by the headlights of the Greyhound bus To echo the gradient of the sky from blue-violet to yellow-orange It symbolizes the integration of the US-Mexico border and the inheritance of generations. The last thing worth mentioning is the digital signage at the entrance. Digital El Paso: Not only stacking hundreds of years Important People and Milestones in El Paso History They are all organized graphically above. You can use Digital Journey by dragging with your palm. Come learn more about El Paso s history

Very nice and *free* history museum. A three dollar donation is requested and is well worth it. Theres a very good history of the El Paso area from ancient times to today. An excellent exhibit of Chicanos in El Paso brings to light their plight. In the rotating space there is a display of photos taken at sunrise and sunset from the area. All in all, a very pleasant experience.
