We were passing down the street yesterday and heard the flamenco music, we went inside. The place is very nice the atmosphere as well, sadly we encounter terrible customer service by the hostess. She told us that we needed a reservation which we understood, but there were several booths emptied and we just wanted to have one drink, even one shot and leave, but she kept yelling at us with a very rude attitude that everything was booked for the next hour. She not even let us seat and have one drink at the bar. It is very sad seen such a lovely place with that kind of employees.

This review is rather overdue, but please believe, dear reader, if you seek an under-worldly experience infused with sophistication, history, and creativity then look no further than 1922. The bartenders and servers are educated and experienced, providing their patron with drinks that invoke the past and embolden the senses. Enjoy!

What is happening to El Paso!?!? My second bad experience in two consecutive nights!! One with a different vision but in the end a night of rude treatment just like today!!! Where is customer respect in this city!?!? Today my family and I went to this place. My mother, my wife, my son and I and to start from the end... They treated us extremely badly, starting with them kicking us out, according to them, because they did not accept minors after 8 pm. It seems absurd to me since we have gone to better places than that pigsty where they treat you arbitrarily and they had never told us such a thing and ending with the fact that they admitted that they just didnt want the child there at that time because they were very busy today, to which I responded So they are kicking me out in other words!?!? They remained silent. We have taken our son to more luxurious restaurants and bars and they have never said anything to us. I understand if it had been at 10 pm but we planned to stay only an hour or until 9 pm, we are people with family values, so we didnt stay up late, especially with a child, we realized that it was personal, starting with the waitress, an American. Very old and ridiculously dressed as a young woman, which I noticed her discomfort in treating us. Arrogant by the way and ending with the manager who never treated us with respect. According to him, he set the laws that they understood and told me that my son could not be there, which I realized was an arbitrary decision since what they wanted was to vacate space. And he was quite rude!! What can you expect from a place like this if the manager acts in such a way. And since they were very full tonight, they didnt give a *^+*%# about kicking us out since apparently we were lost to them. Without having an idea of how much I was going to spend there. Honestly, we were thinking of spending money, since I also went to play jazz since I know the musicians and I love live music in the bars I go to, well, we were going to have dinner, and play one or another jazz song, order some other drink, etc. etc . But apparently they got carried away by the first appearance since I ordered a beer just as my wife arrived and went to park the car and thats when the first prejudice came, the waitress ( Igualada ) never brought me the beer and she didnt want me there. Then in a mysterious way they apparently began to agree to find a pretext and throw us out and thats when they told me about the child. Perfect excuse to open space for other customers since a child is not going to consume alcohol, obviously. Im not going to tell the whole story but they were all very rude and especially the manager who couldnt have looked more Mexican and very arrogant, the man told me that he didnt speak Spanish so I had to speak to him in English hahahaha the poor thing!!! He felt very Anglo-Saxon!! Ill never go again. Im just telling you my experience so that such bad treatment in this city is not overlooked. Dont support businesses where you think the customer is NOBODY!!! Since they are NOTHING without us!!! THUMBS DOWN FOR THIS BUSINESS!!

Someone put me on to this and I decided to come here on a Friday night. Had no expectations but I walked in and instantly fell in love. What an amazing place! The ambiance is off the wall. Chill, dark, cozy, inviting. All of it. Luckily I came in when Abby was performing. What an amazing voice. This is without a doubt my new favorite place in El Paso. I will definitely be back. (Full priced drinks, sparse food menu, and when it got full the service was pretty suspect. Drinks took a while and finding a server was a bit of a challenge, but the magical experience with Abby singing blocked out any negativity I might have experienced. She says she s here every Friday.)

Great little spot for friend get together or a date night. Two live music acts the night I went and both were really good and added to the atmosphere. Good selection of craft cocktails including some non-alcoholic cocktails if you are doing Dry January. Because they are custom cocktails dont expect speed so relax and enjoy the vibe. Finally recommend making reservations if you are going to guarantee a table for the night.

Shoot Y all come check this jaunt out if ya ll hadn t already you can bet ya lls sweet bippie it ain t gonna disappoint ya. I love 1922 for a fun night out with friends or date night! The atmosphere is very much like a 1920s speakeasy-The musical talent they bring in often feels like youre traveling back in time- I have come in as a party of two, but also a party of 20, and no matter how big or small, they handle it with grace under pressure! I thoroughly enjoy their occasions when they have themed nights, after all, who doesnt love dressing up in a style of a bygone era? Their craft cocktails are superb-I personally love the Sicario and sharable punch bowls! Find the phone booth and check them out-you wont be disappointed!

We were a bit disappointed. This was our second time coming over to 1922 and our daughter was excited to join us for the live band. Little did we know under 18 couldnt stay past 8:00pm, this information should be on your website. Another big disappointment was the menu, only the first two items were available, caprese and the charcuterie board. We ordered both and both disappointed equally. It was like trying to sell a kids snack hoping the adults wouldnt notice and then have the audacity to charge $8 and $22 for thin crackers, and cheese. We were excited for the 1922 experience but not sure if wed ever return.

I recently visited 1922 and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome and the staff was incredibly friendly throughout my visit. The bar has a great atmosphere with dim lighting and a cozy seating arrangement. The music was at the perfect volume level, not too loud that you cant hear yourself think, but also not too quiet that you cant enjoy the music. But then a LIVE PERFORMANCE started and changed up the experience to another level. The drink selection is fantastic. I ordered their Chicago type writer, and it was simply amazing. The bartender was knowledgeable and made the drink perfectly. Overall, I highly recommend 1922 Bar. Its a great place to hang out with friends or go on a date. The ambiance, drinks, food, and service were all top-notch. I cant wait to come back and try more from their menu!

The atmosphere was beautiful, comfortable and inviting. The food was ok, despite the staff ignoring a simple modification. The service was pretty terrible. We were seated at the bar. The bartender took approximately 30 minutes to acknowledge us, and wasnt attentive at all. We ordered a punchbowl and the chicken tacos to start. Both were actually quite tasty. The server bartender never followed up. Never asked to refresh our drinks and never asked if we wanted anything else. We had to ask the hostess for our check to which she said she would let the manager know. The manager said nothing to us, and the bartender threw out check at us.. the concept is great. Unfortunately the service was awful.

WOW! Blown away by the experience here. You walk past the phone booth and you are transported to another time. The service here was Disney quality (which is the highest compliment I can think of). We had a fabulous young lady with blonde hair taking care of us. She was tremendous. Cocktails came out in good time and were delicious. I enjoyed the Coco Chanel. What s really magical about this place though is the entertainment. As we were enjoying our cocktails, this very enchanting voice filled the air, sounding like something out of 30s. We peeked out of our booth and to our SHOCK it was a live performer. The singer, Abby, made our whole night there unforgettable. My husband and I didn t even want to get up to find the restroom in fear of missing even a minute of her performance. We truly felt like we were in another city, in another time. Completely entranced. We talked about how blown away we were the whole ride home. To Abby and 1922, we are so grateful to have you in our city. That s the type of entertainment we usually have to leave to town (and buy tickets) to find. We can t wait to plan another visit to come back and see this show again and again!

I have been to this place before and absolutely loved it! Unfortunately, this time around was a bad experience. We went to celebrate my mother-in-law s birthday in hopes of great music and great drinks. The band was amazing ! The drinks were good. We were a little disappointed that the signature drinks we ordered weren t made at our table side, but we weren t going to let that ruin our night. Everything was going well up until the manager came over and was extremely rude to us about having the table reserved for another party. We had made a reservation days in advance. We weren t advised that there was going to be a time limit at the time of reservation or at the time we were seated. I let him know that, but he didn t care and told us to hurry up. We let him know that we were closing out already and wrapping everything up. He then proceeded to tell us again in an extremely rude manner that they had the table reserved for another party and that we had to hurry up. It was only about 4 minutes past the supposed reservation and there were other tables that were empty. If you plan on going I suggest you ask about an allotted time and double check your bill before closing out.

1922 did an EXCELLENT job accommodating our large groups Holiday Party last night. Our server, Natasha, was very prompt and attentive. There was a gentlemen as well, I believe Adam, who attended to us as well. Despite having only two people working on the floor, and probably one in the kitchen, our food and drinks were served with care and professionalism. The crab cake sliders were absolutely delicious! Every lady in the group complimented the service and atmosphere and wants to make having our holiday parties here an annual tradition.

Went last night. We were seated and given menus but the actual service was slow. We decided that we would have cocktails made on the cart. When the waiter brought the cart over, it wasn t stocked. He kept going back and forth to obtain items for the cart and to make our drinks. He even said this is where I learn what s missing . Apparently we had to learn as well by waiting just to get our first round as he proceeded to stock the cart before he could make our drinks. As a suggestion, maybe the cart should be stocked before the venue opens. The waiter made my drink and served it, without a napkin. I tasted it but couldn t taste one of the particular flavors the menu described so upon his next trip back to stock the cart, I asked for a napkin and also asked for a little bit more of the flavor. He obliged and then made my husband s drink, and provided napkins. We finished our drinks and left the empty glasses at the edge of the table and they sat there as well as us. We waited. Finally the waiter came back and asked everything okay here? I then said no, we d like another round of drinks but we decided we d have the actual bartender make our drinks thinking it would be quicker. We also ordered our food which was a Charcuterie board, hot dog and crab sliders. The food arrived by someone else and it was just the hot dog and sliders. I asked when the board was coming and was told that would be a few more minutes. We had hoped to get the board first since that contained cold cuts, cut cheese and crackers to start snacking since we were hungry while waiting for the other food that actually had to be cooked. While eating I noticed staff on their phones and staff congregating at the bar. I m not talking about staff putting in orders, I m talking about staff chit-chatting with other staff instead of servicing their patrons. We ate and drank and had to flag down our waiter to get our check. We were ready to go. Is this place beautiful absolutely. Are the drinks and food delicious oh yes. But our previous experience was with the bartender making our drinks and not the waitstaff like it was this time Were we provided live music again yes and we enjoyed every minute of soothing sounds. I m not sure if the venue was short staffed but it seemed as if our waiter was busy despite the club just opening. Having to wait and also having to ask for service made for a not-so-pleasant experience. Normally for a night out, we ll go to a regular establishment but this night was a celebration for my husband and I wanted to do something nice for him. Did I know that our tab would be $100 for 4 drinks and food of course, but I expected service to be far more substantial than a regular bar and that s what left us disappointed. After being here before and having a wonderful experience, this time it didn t meet our expectations.

The server (Jose) who was also our bartender took our order. He brought the bar to the table and made our drinks. The drinks were delicious but lacked presentation. Wonderful idea for a bar! I loved the mystique of it. The singer was awesome! The drinks were great. The only issue is that the glasses were not thoroughly cleaned as there was still lip stick on the glasses. The waiter did not do well with juggling multiple tables. As he often confused drinks and tabs.

Cocktail were great! Service from bartender was fine as well and deserved the tip we left him. The reason for the low stars was I felt discriminated against by the hostess. When we were sat in the back of the establishment with open booths and tables closer the the live band. Then I noticed all the other black couples were also sat in the very back with other seats open closer to the front as well that made me feel not welcomed there. I don t mind paying for great service but when you don t feel appreciated as a client is where I draw the line.

A super fun spot with great cocktails, wine, and some food. The seating and music allow for table conversation. They have specials on drinks or food all the time and live music changes. If your looking for a small comfortable bar with that old 1922 look and feel, look no further. Try one of their craft cocktails - they are all great!

This a most beautiful saloon. A lot of time & energy & love has gone into creating this most unusual place. Drinks were delicious & appetizers are tasty. A lovely celebration of dear friend Alina s birthday. Owner Justin (who s incredibly hot) was present to make sure all guests are treated well. & Rob was/is bartender extraordinaire! Fun place to enjoy!

Amazing bar . Good drinks, great service, good food. Came in from out of town and this place was awesome. Ive been looking for a place like this in Los Angeles and its awesome crazy I come to find it in El Paso. Kudos for the ambiance, speakeasy vibes with great craft cocktails (signature drinks get made in front of you) also very attentive service. Will be back soon.

Do not under any circumstance go here , there were like only 2 other tables when I went and it took them over 15 minutes to wait on us , when they did , and brought our drinks there was a hair in one of them from the server/bartender that had a beard. Then the food was absolutely ridiculous, in the end it was a waste of $60 dollars. Definitely do not waste your time here.

Nice place love the mood it sets but for me the dj messed up the hole vide and atmosphere of the 1920s theme. Dj should go play that trash new rap somewhere else and leave 1922 to a classic jazz vibe

Came here on a date night. Made reservations and had a nice little booth. The drinks were great and I highly recommend if you are looking for a craft cocktail, but the service was poor to say it nicely. I m not sure if they were understaffed or they had too many reservations, but the server/bartender never came back after our first round of drinks. Had to go request drinks at the bar itself and close out when it was time. Probably will not return any time soon.

The place is beautiful The signature drinks are made at your table The drinks arent too expensive The reason for the 4 stars is for the food prices A charcuterie platter was 22$ All though it was delicious I would rather pay 22$ for a big meal else where I had actually ordered crab sliders but they were out so we shared the platter which was good for 2 With only 5 things on the menu I wouldve thought they wouldnt run out At the end they also charged the sliders and we had to wait to get refunded Which took a bit because of how packed it was The staff were really nice and refunded the item we never recieved which was another 22$ Over all I liked it but will only go there if im invited not by choice
