They were supposed to be open at 12:00 on Sunday. Staff began pulling in to the parking lot after 12:05. When I tried to enter, they asked me to wait outside a while because theyre not ready yet. Pretentious name International met my expectations. The exhibition overall was represented pretty unintelligible and chaotic. There were some good paintings of local guys -- Bill Rakocy, Margaret Tumey, and the rest was just ok. I really hoped to see an interesting historical building, at least, but it had severe results of interior remodeling, and the second floor was closed for public, so I did not get any luck either.

I came in to submit my art for an art show Im participating in. It is a student show for the El Paso Community College. It opens on April 3rd and runs through the month of April. So if you get a chance, come by and see my work and that of my fellow students. Its a very nice place, quiet, relaxing. The staff are very friendly.

There are always pleasant surprises at this museum, so you can go any day and you will have a great time. The magnificent house where the museum is located is a marvel of the famous architect Trost and has its own history. The staff is most attentive and friendly. The exhibits are always interesting.

Its in fact a historical site which the property was and is owned by the Turney family. The building itself is an antique, and the whole building is full of antiques, except the themed artworks exhibited from time to time, the interior design and decoration is worth spending time appreciating the details. Theres a hall at the basement in which you will find the historical relics of the Mexican Revolution and some key moments of Puncho Villa. Some Chinese and Indian paintings and wooden crafts will make me realize the variety of the collections of the Turney family.

I went on October 2nd to visit the art show of Mario Ulloa. While I was there the woman in charge, the director was acting very disrespectful and very unwelcoming. The museum itself was incredible but the director was horribly rude towards many of the visitors. I will definitely be back for the art but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing due to the lady in charge.

This time my sister and I learned a lot from one of the staff members who gave us a full history of the building and its original owners. I would highly recommend everyone (visitor and locals) to check this place out. International art, sculptures and more for those who love learning and leaving with a WoW feeling. Certainly a very interesting visit it s free runs on donations basis the gentleman that I spoke with gave me the history of the museum which was very pleasant surprise to some of the information that he advised of. The Mexican war over 6 million Mexicans lost there lives in that and the former owner of the house used to be a wealthy sugar plantation owner back in south Carolina and moved down to El Paso.

This is my most favorite museum in El Paso. Located in a historic home on Montana Ave they have free movie night on Saturdays and an awesome collection of French, Chinese and Mexican art as well as contemporary pieces from local artists. If you can get the tour from one of the curators they give you the best details about the house and the time period that it was built and lived in, like the fact the family would throw revolution parties during the Mexican Revolution and they would host company on their balcony to watch the fighting across the border. Super Cool!

They had finger food fir the attendees and wine at one of the exhibits. El Paso Art Association had an award ceremony for the best photographs. Itd be nice to see more people attending.
