If there was a zero star rating I would rate it five zeros. Always horrible service, very expensive, and very stingy when asking for condiments. It made my day to drive by yesterday to find out it closed down. I have hopes that a much better place will open at the location.

OUTSTANDING BURGERS AND SERVICE. Best Burgers Ive had in YEARS. Thought this was a company from somewhere else. Was hesitant as Im not interested in these new age nasty tasting garbage.. Picked up food from here for the first time after driving by a lot. Burgers were delicious. Chili dog was delicious. Fries were terrible! Whole bag soaked in grease, oily soggy fries inside.

Been here before and had good experiences, but it s been a couple of times that the place falls short. I went in today hoping to give it another chance. Upon entering, I wasn t greeted, there was a cashier and a cook both standing in the front laughing and talking to each other. I ordered the Crispy Bleu still listed and on their menu. The cashier said they didn t have blue cheese. Tried to order a different burger and wanted onion rings (which again, is on the menu) and they had ran out. Just walked out and went to Wallbanger s. This place is definitely not what it used to be. Won t be going back.

So to start off everything there was no and has NEVER been a manager present when I eat here. Always just a cashier and cook. Usually one of each. I have eaten here multiple times and each time I come it seems to either be lacking more than the time before or they have no stock on things like Aioli sauce and sweet potato fries. After ordering with my family 4/5 of us couldn t get drinks because they were ALL flat. Now they have had some drinks flat before but I was normally always able to find another drink I liked b4. This time ALL OF THEM were flat. So I asked them if they could fix the machine but the worker told me if I get time I ll look at it now I would normally understand that if the place was busy or if they have phone orders. (Towards the end of the shift both workers called OUT LOUD that their phone wasn t even plugged in. Not only is that very bad business but a possible HUGE LOSS in their profits. <-05/21/2024 5:35 PM) so they weren t busy at all. The other ppl there already had food (1 table). The worker didn t look at the drinks until my whole family and guest finished the meal. The burger was not bad I will say that. The fries were bad tho. Lukewarm and a crunchy texture is not what I look for in my fries at least. Service was also terrible. The girl at the counter was new which is understandable BUT for us being her only customers at the line and only 1 table eating she didn t have pressure. She showed not a single ounce of passion/positivity in the workplace while taking the order. Normally it doesn t bother me because I m not there for service I m there for a great meal and experience. Sadly didn t get any of that. After my drink less meal I went to the counter to get a refund and the employees said We don t know how to give refunds they had to call their manager who wasn t in the building or near by. They did give us a refund in the end but the whole experience was extremely bad. This restaurant was EXTREMELY great before but now it s just bad all around. I said I would give it one last shot last time I came and this was it. My birthday meal and it wasn t worth at all. Stop by other burger joints if you want a better experience.

Do not place a lunch order through them!!!They leave their online food service system on but won t be open. They give false promises of reimbursement but then never do. They have no issue with taking money from working class people with no guilt that they didn t make the food on time (or at all). Today s economy is rough as it is and I m writing this so no one else will have to experience what happened to me. It was a brutal way to finish my work week it was a group order (4 person) so technically they screwed over 4 of us. Unfortunately, I was the person who decided to use their door dash service so I m the one who had to pay the total cost without receiving anything.

Since the first two times, I was impressed by the taste of the burgers/food, I had ordered, Very Tasty. ..This Third time however, Not so much. Not only did I wait for what seemed an unusually long time, but It did not resemble ANYTHING like what they had pictured on the menu, as it had a name. Being a Gourmet Burger, it should have been more impressive than what I was given. Sorry to say, but this dine in experience was a for me.

To start, I ve been here many times and the food is always excellent. Today was no different. Food was delicious. However the service was terrible. Apparently the owner had all his family and friends over for lunch which made the wait time for our food over 35 min. There were kids running around throwing toys all over the floor, running in and out of the kitchen and counters. It wasn t until we finally got up and asked how much longer that they told us they had a few more orders to go then they would clean the grill and finally start on ours. That was unacceptable so we asked for a refund but that s when they then told us that they were already cooking ours and within 5 min our order was out. They gave us very cold and stale fries so we had to go up again and ask for fresh fries which they provided 2 min later.

Spoke to arlette today, left me me on the phone for 19 mins, was trig to get my order redone but she couldn t get a hold of Juan. I can hear gossiping chit chatting while on hold, not very professional. I ve enjoyed this place but as of today let me warn you, ever since management is no where to be seen it s turned into just another mismanaged burger joint. Hate to see it turn this way, arlette didn t seem to care about this google review, and she said that fine that I post a negative review, so here it is, beware of the service and food you are about to purchase, consider this your warning of this place.

The best lettuce wrapped burgers! If you re on a low carb diet and craving a delicious burger, I highly recommend BAB. I also recommend the jalapeño poppers, garlic parmesan & aioli fries, and buffalo bleu chicken fries. Regular bun burgers are also delicious. And big. Come hungry!

This place was recommended to us by some church friends. They have a somewhat simple menu hamburgers, hotdogs and tacos with a few appetizers. But they have a great variety. We had the jalapeños popper hamburger. Our granddaughter had chicken tenders.

First of all this place has no customer service. Had a kid in the front just starring not even able to greet. Always pass by when here in Edinburg, first time coming and the atmosphere was really cool TVs playing football and music playing. A nice surprise. Went for lunch and were the 2nd group in. While the main concept is building your own burger from a variety of toppings, they also offer some ready-made burgers, as well as hot dogs and chicken wings. I had previously signed on to their website for a free appetizer and went with the fried pickles. The pickles were sliced thin, and the batter was crisp without being thick or cakey or oily. I had a double burger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and heavy mayo. The buns come toasted. You could tell the patties were hand formed and didnt look or feel like they were preformed or frozen. That being said, they were a little on the thin side, hence my getting a double patty. Tomatoes were thick cut and huge in circumference, and the lettuce was shredded and piled a little too heavily for my taste. Otherwise, these are some tasty burgers. As for service, we didnt have a problem as previously stated, we came early. However, there was only one cook and one cashier/waiter when we arrived, so while we didnt have a problem, the parties that came after certainly were. Their orders were taking a good bit of time and were not exiting the kitchen altogether, meaning some folks were halfway through their meal while a companion hadnt even started. A third helper showed up as we were leaving, so hopefully, that sped things up. The decor was...fine. The building is surrounded by big windows. The floor is wood and a couple of TVs on the corners. You order at the counter, and you get your own drinks at a, surprisingly, limited fountain. I get the feeling they want to be more of a fast casual to-go type place. Still Im always on the lookout for the next great burger and Build A Burger doesnt disappoint, in taste that is. Just get their early.

Food and attending staff was awesome. Restaurant was not too full so we had a pleasant lunch. Cashier was courteous and was able to modify our meals to accommodate our diet restrictions. I ordered their Colby Chicken Burger add ham. Nephew ordered the hot cheeto burger. burger was good. Chicken could use a bit seasoning. Felt like it was lacking in flavor. I was not impressed with their burgers. The patty had no seasonings. Their food was so much better when they operated out of a food truck Updated: I went by and they no longer have the keto bun. Then I ordered the jalapeno bombers, and they were not available. The meat in my burger lacked flavor. Im so disappointed. I used to really like this place. As soon as we walked up to the counter, at least 2 other big families like us came in, not to mention the phone orders, delivery orders, etc. It was BUSY!!! The was only one young lady at the counter greeting people, taking orders and payments, answering the phone and expediting ALL OF THEM! Her name is Jessica, I believe. She handled it all with grace and a beautiful smile!!! Unfortunately, they ran out of what two of us wanted, but they were happy to help us with something else. This is a great place to eat! Earlier at Build-a-Burger honestly been wanting to try this everytime I pass thru owassa road in Edinburgh. Today the market was held there and bro the Mexican burger with the egg over easy fcccckkkkkk bro when I say this was one of the best burgers I ve tried I honestly can say Whataburger or In N out have nothing on this place! I ordered $71.16 and I have to say I was disappointed. I love the many options you have at build a burger. It allows you to cater a burger to your own taste buds and I was excited to order. The burgers I ordered were customized to have nacho cheese among other sauces and when I opened up my burger there was no more than a tablespoon worth of all the sauces put together. Not to mention the American cheese slice looked like it had been put on the burger then scraped off. There was so little of everything and I question why it is so pricy when it does not come with fries nor a drink. I ordered the Texas cheese fries separately and the nacho cheese only managed to cover the top layer. After finishing the top layer of the fries I was left with unappealing, cold, plain potatoes. I showed up exactly on time when I was scheduled to pick it up and it was basically ready. I drove 5 minutes back home only to discover my food was no more than lukewarm. The flavor of the burger was pretty good, but overall a very sad experience. If you do not care about getting good value for your money then I would go here. If you prefer a more enjoyable eating experience, I would say whataburger beats this in all categories.

I love going to this place. The people who take your order are always super patient and helpful with new customers. The food is freshly made to order, I have yet to receive anything cold. I dont like blu cheese but was feeling daring the other day and tried their blu cheese with fried onions burger....it was AMAZING. The wings are also good, I liked how they asked if I wanted my wings tossed in the sauce or on the side. Real courtesy place. Visit if you ever get the chance.

The premise here is fairly easy right...build your burger. My first mistake was not choosing a burger...I went with the buffalo chicken sandwich. I did take it to go as well but in my opinion the quality of the sandwich wouldve been the same. First thing I noticed was the sandwich was quite large..which is good! But I swear it had so much lettuce piled on it, felt like a side salad was one of the toppings. Maybe the moisture of the lettuce softened the breading on the chicken, because it was near falling off. Breading should not fall of the breast...and it also tasted of old oil. Not a great combination...if you look at the picture, you can see the breading hanging off the breast...no thanks. I was expecting the nice tangy heat of buffalo with ranch...but instead tasted old breading with zero crunch. And I must say...those fries are some of the saddest looking fries. No crispness...no crunch...no salt...no pepper...no thanks! The namesake of this place is a burger...and maybe one of those burgers would be worth it. Stick with one and avoid this mess...

Disappointing ordered a Mexican burger substituted egg for grilled mushrooms. But, got 3 black mushrooms I know the look of grilled mushrooms, fries looked dark & over fried cold burger when I asked for toasted bun. The chicken tenders, fries, and fried mushrooms used to be MUCH better... We were disappointed the other day, we got about 12 fries each combo, not even a complete handful. For 10 bucks per person pretty much, we used to get a decent amount.

Ordered the Rick burger today for lunch added a fried egg (since I didnt have breakfast in the morning) and it was DELICIOUS!!!! The customer service was excellent!! Being a food critic and having worked in the restaurant industry for more than 10 years, as well Chick FIL A, I must say that I was really satisfied with my meal. We placed our order thru DoorDash. Upon receiving our order we immediately knew our order was wrong. Only 1 of the 4 items ordered arrived correct and the fries were undercooked and clearly not cooked long enough in the fryer. Upon calling and advising the employee of the mistake the employee advised they could give us a credit for the items but had 5 days to claim. I asked to speak with the manager Adelita (I believe) and she proceeds to tell me the same information. I advised her that the customer should not be inconvenienced due to their mistakes and that she could call DoorDash support to request the refund. She adamantly refused by saying, We DONT do that. It was not till I stated I would leave a video review and post it with photos of the food that she stated she would place me on hold to attempt to contact the owner. After a few minutes(4), she came back on the line to state that they do have a number to contact DoorDash support and would call to request a refund. When asked for the owners number she refused to provide the number and stated for me to just keep trying to catch him on site. Build a burger has lost a few regular customers due to poor customer service. As an owner, I would not have anyone with that attitude, lack of knowledge and lazy representing my business as a Assistant Manager. I am speaking from 30 years experience in Restaurant Management and the Assistant Manager of this establishment should be ashamed of herself for blatantly lying to a consumer 3 different times and demonstrating her lack of leadership, lack of basic customer service knowledge and utter laziness. Why should I as a customer have to get upset and call out the manager when she advised she could not call and request the refund. I had to educate her that it is in their contract with DoorDash and asked her for her companies policy on refunds. Had the manager just apologized and stated yes, we can request that refund for you all of this could have been avoided. But instead the manager choose to inconvenience the customer and lie to the customer. Customers are what keep you in business, never forget that. After 1 hour, I contacted DoorDash support to inquire on the refund and advised of the issues. As per support, no request for refund had been requested until I called. The manager never called support to request the refund as she stated she would do. I advised the manager that I would check with DoorDash in one hour to ensure she had complied with her word. It was very disappointing to know that she could not even keep her word to request my refund.

Omg... the lady would literally pick up the calls and hang up on you.. this was today September 15th @ 7:30p.m. I called like 5 times. I understand she was busy but at least stated that. We tried this place for the first time, my partner always asks about the portions because we dont like to overeat, if meals are big enough we like to split them. The employee told him portions were small, but when we arrived home we got too much food that we didnt eat entirely. If you like to eat a lot, well this is your place, if you like to be healthy, and are cautious about what you eat maybe this is not your place.

The food is great but there is always something wrong with the order. Its either not done on time (we have to wait 10-15 minutes for the workers to realize the order is sitting on the counter) the order is missing items, or just recently, they refused to fix a mistake on an order. The workers are unorganized and refuse to help when committing a mistake. We paid full price for our items and received smaller portions. When we told the worker at the front, she began arguing and refusing to at least give us the right portions. Overall. I very much enjoy the food but do not think its worth the trouble of dealing with the terrible customer service.

One of the best burger joints in the RGV. This hidden gem was awesome. They serve old fashion diner burgers. Nice selection of burger choices to choose from as well as build your own. Very clean place and prices are good. Cashier was courteous and offered her suggestions. Will definitely come back over and over again. Will post food pic next time. Could not put burger down lol.

After a long day at work, I was on my way to my hotel and wanted to try something new. So Build a burger was right there close to my hotel. I am glad I stopped. The restrooms were nice and clean, the restaurant was nice and clean. The burger was delicious. Thinking about it it was a burger like burger kings use to have. The prices are comparable to any other burger joint but better.

Great place! The patties taste similar to Whataburger patties, but as the name implies; you can add whatever toppings you want, even jalapeño poppers. They off course have their signature burgers. My fav combo is an avocado Swiss burger and I cant get that at Whataburger. They also sell homemade cupcakes and cookies. If you like Whataburger youll love Build A Burger.

Excellent homemade food with great customer service and a friendly + clean setting. The burgers put whataburger and the other similar places to shame. And the hot dogs are real beef and really good. Had the jalapeno peppers also and they were delicious.
