Took my 80 y.o. mother in law for her birthday dinner this evening. Our mesero Jesus Hernandez and the staff were absolutely amazing! The food and service were outstanding. I highly recommend if you re looking for an excellent meal and excellent service! If I could give 6 stars I would!

Premium food at a reasonable price. The food is delicious, it never disappoints. Our favorites are the jalapeno & cucumber margaritas and the agua Chiles! You can never go wrong with the parilladas for the family. The service here is superb, I definitely recommend! When you go, ask for Bryan! Hes the absolute best, most attentive server!

The food is very delicious although the price is a little higher than usual. It is understood that the atmosphere of the restaurant is integrated. The tampiqueña is very soft and has good flavor. The food at this restaurant is good and fairly priced. I love coming here on the weekends to relax to eat lunch or dinner. Compared to other restaurants in the valley, the service is exceptional. In particular, I usually ask for waiter Carlos Loera. He is an exceptional waiter who always provides the best service possible and goes above and beyond. Even when he is busy with large tables, he finds time to assist me in what I need. Thank you for being flexible with me and allowing me to enjoy my dining experience to its fullest potential. Server forgot a drink and wanted to charge us for and then messed up on a plate that was only supposed to be an additional $2 ended up charging us $12. He also made my mom feel bad and kept insinuating that it was her fault because she didn t order right. For almost $200 I expected better service. I went to go eat not to go argue with a horrible server.

Food and atmosphere was great and meet all the standards - but the waiter we had during this dining was not professional as I did put no receipt during check out but he still did printed the receipt- brought to me and pointed me the tip I paid in the receipt and said damn - showing his attitude - I had my family with me at that time otherwise I would have stayed and lodged a complaint against him - never again. Never had such experience in my life.

We had an exceptional dining experience at Palenque Grill in Edinburg! From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Every staff member was friendly and attentive, but our waiter, Jesus, truly stood out. He was by far one of the best servers my family and I have ever had. Jesus was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, made excellent recommendations, and ensured that every detail of our meal was perfect. His warm and professional demeanor added to the overall enjoyment of our visit. The food was delicious, with every dish perfectly prepared and full of flavor. We especially appreciated the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. Its clear that the team at Palenque Grill takes pride in providing top-notch service and cuisine. We would definitely travel the 1.5 hours again just to dine here. Highly recommended!

Honestly this place has limited options and super expensive!! My first time coming here I went to the one in McAllen which I got horrible customer service then I tried giving this Edinburg location a try and I also got bad customer service on top of that their menu is so limited and definitely expensive. I would rather spend $20 dollars on a plate somewhere else. Also, no refills on the lemonades??? A $5 dollar lemonade!! According to a server they do no refills. Like no thank you. I don t recommend this place at all..

I went to celebrate a birthday and I ordered the sirlon and salad special, very bad experience with that dish, the meat was super dry, and without flavor or salt, the onion was very hard, and the salad was horrible, we had to ask for salt several times, very little sauce They give, very few chips, the truth is I didnt like the food at all and everything was expensive.

I had wanting to good here for several occasion, it was always packed. Decided to go here for Father s Day the wait for a while. But I was disappointed because of the service, the prices & the portion of food on the fajitas quesadillas like 6 pieces in each. Not to mention I ordered the chipotle chicken( the thinnest chicken breast)I had ask for extra sauce when I placed the order didn t get it till I was done with my plate. The drink refill we thought they were free I think we spent more than the actual food itself. I spent 112 for 3 person I think $42 in drink ( non alcoholic drinks). The waiter would also takes his time for everything this a very busy day. I did like the atmosphere though. I will be thinking about going here again. Overprice

Today, May 11, we came to eat at this place, which is our favorite. When we moved from Houston, it turned out that they were not serving the main menu because they had a special menu for Mothers Day. We decided to go somewhere else, because the dishes we always order were not there, but Carlos Loera, who served us, did not let us go and brought us the main menu and took the best care of us, along with his manager Brenda, who behaved very well with us. Rest assured that we will return.

One of the best in RGV. Las garitas de Leon, Fajita, Chicken, etc. Great food, great drinks, great staff. Very friendly you cant go wrong with this restaurant. Hopefully they open one in Brownsville. My wife chose this place for her birthday dinner but we were heavily disappointed. We ordered the parrillada for 2 which cost $75, the parillada ended up being a small peace of 8oz mediocre stake, unsalted watered down beans and salty shrimp wrapped around cheap bacon. We where also charged 5$ per refill on fountain drinks, we ended up paying $100 for a dinner quality that was worse or about the same as Costa Mesa or el rancho grande for x2 the price.

The truth is, I was deeply disappointed with this restaurant, I ordered a Ribeye which seemed more like any other steak without complete flavor, no salt or seasoning, the kitchen is terrible for the preparation of the dishes, I would not recommend this restaurant at all, get out of the routine, invite your wife out to dinner and taking her to the worst restaurant is worse than a bad day, I give it -5 stars

The food is super expensive and the food isnt bad but its just okay. I love getting flautas at Mexican restaurants, but I dont like theirs at all, so Ive stopped getting them. I dont mind paying when the food is delicious, but for me, I feel like I can get the same quality at a cheaper price. The only times I go are when someone is having their party there, so my experience with the service has only been from that perspective. They have a have a few waiters tending to the party, but they still get distracted at times and forget to give you refills. Parking: You have to park in the plaza parking lot and just walk across through the back of the restaurant. It can be a little confusing the first time because there isnt any parking in the front of the restaurant.

This is a beautiful restaurant to come and enjoy a clean and extremely great attentive customer service dinning experience. I have to be a restaurants greatest critic or nightmare. But this restaurant didnt give me one once of leverage to criticize them in anything. Their pico de Gallo is made the way I like it. They dont put alot lemon on it. Its mostly the cut up little onions, tomatoes, cilantro, jalapeño and simplistic. They give you an opportunity to dress up with lemon or salt your food to your liking. The tortilla chips was crunchy to perfection. Their beans had a bit of chorizo flavor the ones they provide as you sit to eat. Also their salsa tatemado was amazing. Not to spicy and not too salty. Perfecto. I ordered the Chipotle grilled chicken with the white rice and steamed veggies and it was great. Perfect for someone thats not into all that super salty super seasoning food. Even tho I ordered it without the Chipotle marinate I told them bland no salt no pepper it still had an amazing grilled taste to the chicken. It was moist and perfect. I shared the plate with my mom since I am not big in eating big portions. I eat like a small bird. But I did try their lemonade which was fresh and amazing and afterwards my brother in law got a plate of dessert which had a tres leches , flan and churros. I only tasted with a small spoon their tres leches and if I wasnt in a strict diet I would have eaten the whole thing and been very greety with it. Lol. I also got to taste their broth of the chicken soup and it tasted really fresh and not to salty and full of condiments. I hate going to a place to eat chicken soup and all you can taste is the spoon fulls of Knoor or Maggie chicken powder broth. So far this has to be my go to Mexican restaurants in the valley. Their managers in all the palenque grill including casa palenque have the best managers. They dont argue with you about food. When you dont like your food they will swap it immediately. They definitely have my loyalty. Unfortunately I live in Houston Texas and I only come to the valley once or twice a month and stay for 3 to 4 days every time I come to the valley. I which they opened one in Houston and I would get a crowd coming their. My dad ordered the caldo de res and he loved it. So try it out!

I assumed this was a sister restaurant to Taco Palenque, so I went in expecting the food to be as good, if not better. The food was lacking, flavorless rice & beans, stale churros. AND you pay probably the most Ive ever paid for a meal in the Valley. The staff was friendly but our waitress got lost for a while & forgot we requested a birthday song.
