Cool little bar with a dance floor and outdoor area. Live music was a great sounding acoustic/bass duo that hit those notes in two part... Beer selection coulda been a little deeper. Ill be back.

Hudsons on Mercer is your quintessential neighborhood bar neither exceptional nor disappointing. If youre looking for a spot to catch a football game, it does the job, but it wont wow you. Hence, it comfortably earns its 4 out of 5 stars. One of Hudsons redeeming features is its willingness to broadcast sports events. Its an average bar for watching football; the screens are decent-sized, and they make an effort to create a game-day atmosphere. If youre with friends who love sports, its a decent choice. Live music is another facet of Hudsons charm. It adds a bit of pizzazz to the otherwise laid-back atmosphere. While the tunes are enjoyable, they can get a tad loud, making conversation a challenge. One drawback is the lighting its way too dark. Perhaps theyre aiming for a cozy ambiance, but it often feels like you need a flashlight to read the menu. Its an odd choice, considering its primarily a sports bar. When it comes to drinks and food, Hudsons plays it safe. The menu offers the usual suspects without any particularly unique options. However, they execute these staples well, ensuring you wont leave disappointed. In a nutshell, Hudsons on Mercer is a reliable but unexceptional bar. It wont stand out in a city teeming with nightlife options, but its not a place youd regret visiting either. If youre looking for a no-frills spot to unwind with friends and catch a game or enjoy some live music, Hudsons fits the bill perfectly. Hence, the 4-star rating its nothing special, but its far from a letdown.

I was there for Songwriters Festival, there could not have been a better location than Hudson s! The sound quality was stunning, like listening to an audiophile recording. The room is perfectly designed for audio quality and comfort. The beer selection was decent and included several independent breweries.

Recently saw Anthony Garcia, one of the most talented central Texas musicians, play here. Depending on whos playing at this venue, it may or may not be crowded. No hard liquor is served, only wine and beer. Nice clean venue.

Nice little bar in Dripping Springs. Love going there to listen to Ghost Jam Players. Its casual and comfortable. They can be a little slow on getting food out, but its mostly a bar anyway. Beer is good and cold. Draft or bottle.

We held our wedding welcome party (substitute for rehearsal dinner) at Hudsons on a Friday night and it was perfect! The owners were very accommodating, had multiple bartenders arrive early, and my guests loved staying later for the live music! We had been to Hudsons on previous occasions and have always enjoyed the atmosphere, affordable drinks, live music and dancing.

My 14 year old daughter has been taking piano lessons at Hudson s on Mercer for a year now. We love the people, the atmosphere, and certainly the high caliber music teachers. The Student Showcase performances are a wonderful family-friendly event that we look forward to attending! It s a great time of listening to the students showcase their talent while catching up with family and friends and enjoying a cold beverage. My daughter loves that she s able to perform multiple times per year, rather than the usual one-time recitals. Chad and Natasha Hudson have created an extended musical family in Dripping Springs that fosters community, great music, all the while with the utmost professionalism. Very hip venue. We (The Captain Ledge Bc and) were there to play The Ultimate Louisiana Music Party. Staff was friendly and helpful and early in the day people were even bringing in their kids. They have a music school and rehearsal studio in the back and a small stage that was nice up front. We really felt at home here and enjoyed our time at Hudsons on Mercer.

After years of only passing through DS, I went to Hudsons during one of the town festivals, and now I make a point to visit whenever Im in town. Its spacious enough to not feel overcrowded and not so big that you feel like youre at a tourist destination. Nothing against Gruene Hall ;) ;). They seem to get really good acts on a regular basis and without a huge cover charge.
