This place is beautiful and magical ! It feels like a very private and hidden oasis, yet so near to I-45. Easy to reach attractions such as NASA, Kemah and Galveston - also great shopping and restaurants are nearby. The hosts are the most accommodating that you can imagine, and the breakfast is perfectly prepared. My sister and I stayed in the Birdcage Saloon which was very spacious and comfortable, just steps away from the resort pool. I really cant recommend it enough !

Amazing!!! This place is like no other, and you wont believe what youve discovered. Jeff and Tonya are amazing people who have taken a historic farm and created a magical place that you will want to visit again and again. The whole property is a relaxing oasis, reflective of their genuine artistry and tons of hard work. From the saloon to the barracks to the glamping bath House courtyard, you CANNOT go wrong with any of their accommodations, and you will want to keep exploring. Stay a while and relax around the carefully landscaped pool, picnic under one of the pergolas, or just sit and sip cocktails on the patio. This is a REAL Bed &Breakfast, not an AirBNB, so you will be treated like family, and fed exquisitely while you stay, but you will have all the privacy you want. Even though its easy to find and easy access to town, it feels like youre a world away. Stay for the weekend or plan your next event at the Cedar Oaks, and you can reserve the grounds for a party, wedding, family reunion, etc. Theres even a stage if you want to bring your own band! We are grateful for the time we spent here, and for having discovered such wonderful friends in such a beautiful place!

Tanya & Jeff are such kind and generous hosts. Their warmest, kindness, and genuine hospitality are one of a kind it made our stay a pleasure. We had booked for the bath house, but they upgraded us to The Barracks. It was supremely comfortable, and the accommodations they made for us were immaculate. Tanyas breakfast is top-notch! We loved having breakfast by the pool. It was just what we needed, calm and relaxation. I cant tell you how much we enjoyed being their guest this past weekend. They are such amazing people, we cant wait to book with yall again. They have our undying gratitude for their gracious hospitality. I can go on and on, but words could never truly describe how grateful I was to have book with them for my birthday weekend. They have crafted a lovely life for themselves, and we are grateful to have been a part of it for a few days.

What a phenomenal experience! We are local to Dickinson and happened to find this place online. We stayed this weekend to celebrate our anniversary. The hosts were so hospitable and every detail was taken care of. We stayed in the Birdcage saloon and it was luxury in and of itself! I also appreciated that while there was a TV downstairs, it wasnt the focal point of the space and encouraged us to unplug and spend intentional time with each other without distractions. The hosts provided a delicious dessert plate and cheese and meat tray for us and a delicious breakfast in the morning. We hung out in the pool all day and they delivered us margaritas and were just so welcoming. We will be staying here every anniversary -it was exactly what we needed. We have 5 small children at home so we needed to be close for our babysitters sake, but it felt like we were in our own private retreat and we feel so refreshed and ready to tackle being parents again. Highly recommend!

This was such an amazing experience. The location was so conveniently located close to the freeway as well as providing a private experience. I came with my wife and we felt taken care of so personally without being bothered. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need to relax and enjoy solitude time with your spouse. We will definitely be coming back in the future, it was the best weekend get away we have ever had the pleasure to stay at. ( If I could give 10 stars I would!)

*Original review in the photo I kept my response vague for a reason and it seems interesting that a post from three months ago has the owner riled up today. It is important for people to understand that not all that glitters is gold and my experience not be diminished, which you seemed eager to do today. A few facts that are incorrect and since you have gotten to details, I will share mine. Yes the circumstances for the double booking were truly unfortunate, for which we sympathized upon hearing about it as we arrived (we were not notified in advance). We were in a forced situation, trying to make the most out of a vacation we had planned of importance to us that was shifted the moment we arrived at your property, without notice. On top of which you seemed very persistent about us staying and wanting to make us feel comfortable and needing our money at the time, since you were a struggling B&B coming out of covid and all. Yes the grounds and the rooms are beautiful, at the beginning we could have seen ourselves getting married there and we so very much appreciated the expectations of the property regarding champagne and brunch, that s why we booked here ..we knew those things were apart of the stay and the room package. I gave those 5 stars by the way, but I stand by my experience and the unfortunate events that followed. This whole key thing is a mess but what remains to be said is that you never handed us a key are told us where the key was and we originally felt safe and did not think to ask .although after the fact that seems to be your biggest talking point well it was on the counter and for which is where we made our biggest mistake. I find it incredibly unsettling that you choose to blame us for something that simply was not handled properly up front by this Bed and Breakfast. I hope you have considered changing your procedures since then. When we returned on the day of the ceremony and there were still many many people on the property and when we realized there had been people in the building we rented we felt uncomfortable and unwanted and simply wanted to make a swift exit. The kind gentleman on the property apologized to us the moment we stepped back in and realized what had happened. Then we gathered our things and tried to go to our car as to avoid additional communication, we just wanted to leave and you made that incredibly difficult. Asking us profusely if we would stay and reconsider, laying on the discounts and the how can we make it up to you and come with your friends for a weekend on us we will reimburse your whole stay etc. You were drunk and you made us feel uncomfortable. So in regard to the fact that when we tried to follow through on some of your promises, mainly the refund and potential say with our friends and you had changed your tune only refunding a day and offering us a 50% coupon, I find it rich that you would continue to double down and insult us .. your guests more than you already have. I suggest you chop this up as a loss and focus on the other guest for which you clearly provided a more enjoyable experience for. We were hoping for the same and this property did not deliver that for us. All you need to do at this point is offer an apology and move on. We have!

Ok 1st this place is amazing and the beauty is un believable!!! 2nd they normally dont allow children young children because of the antiques and white couch but we stayed when a hurricane came and they went above and beyond 4 us they lets us stay we have 3 kids plus a 4th that stayed the last night and my sister her wife and son came the last night and they didnt mind accept us we made sure to keep kids quite in pool because its right by owners home.. buy the kids where loud and still did not say a thing... I wanna say the owners are amazing!!!! They will respect anyone and let anyone stay who has manners of everything they put 28 year into this place is great % I loved it they do weddings too... Thank yall 4 everything and everything you shared with us ur a couple to admire love yall 4 life seriously call us anytime if you ever need any help we will be there no questions $ asked promise!! Rooms: The have a house in the back 2 bedroom I bath. 2 claw foot tubs outside and also a restroom outside have washer dryer games fire pit fish under flowers kitchen.. saltwater pool but please please be quite n respectful in the pool its around the owners and other renters n houses .. oh and please dont scare the chickens they r beautiful!!

Phenomenal experience! We stayed in the Birdcage Saloon but we cannot wait to get back and stay in the other rooms they are all so beautiful! The attention to detail is interesting, there is always something new to look at. Definitely worth checking out for a romantic getaway! The owners are the absolute best and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is as comfortable as can be, not to mention 5 star breakfast delivered to your door! Our company had our holiday party at Cedar Oaks Inn. It was perfect for our group of 30-40 people. Tanya and Jeff were awesome working with us and sharing both their home and the history with us to give it a personal touch, plus their puppers are adorable, and the chickens a hoot! The whole property is breathtaking, and each room is very well appointed. The saloon is fun, quirky and eclectic. The bathhouse is super cute and I loved the outdoor tub and swings. The Barracks are absolutely breathtaking and wow, that outdoor bathhouse! I think most of our team is talking about going to stay there at some point, including me! For the party, we opened up the doors on the saloon, set up food on the beautiful bar, used the old clawfoot tub for ice and drinks, had gifts out in the courtyard area, and set up yard games and smores at the firepit. It made for such an engaging party, I am already trying to figure out how to do it again next year. If you are considering a weekend getaway, retreat, or escape, do it! If you are thinking about a party or event, absolutely make it happen, neither you or your guests will be disappointed. Thank you, Tanya and Jeff!

Jeff and Tanya are amazing! Last night was our third year hosting our company Christmas party at Cedar Oaks and each year Jeff and Tanya go above and beyond. Tanya decorates to the nines and her attention to detail is incredible. As the event planner at our office, Jeff and Tanya make me look so good while allowing me to enjoy the party too. Im thankful we found this little Inn and we plan to have our Christmas party at Cedar Oaks for the foreseeable future.

This bed and breakfast is a luxurious upscale romantic retreat located a block off I-45 halfway between Houston and Galveston. The bed in the historical 1927 Barracks was very comfortable, and the rooms in this cabin were decorated with beautiful artwork. The outdoor tubs were wonderfuly secluded to soak in after a long day walking around the property. The pecan crusted french toast breakfast was so fabulous that it sustained us through the day. We plan to go back.

If you are anywhere near the Houston/Galveston area, you must stay at the Cedar Oaks Inn for a truly wonderful experience. It is such a unique and peaceful place, tucked away under large oaks dripping with Spanish moss. At night it is truly magical, everywhere you look there are tiny fairy lights in bird cages high up in the trees. Jeff and Tanya have realized their lifelong dream and turned this 100+ year old farm into an amazing bed and breakfast. We stayed in the birdcage saloon and it was truly luxurious with a boudoir theme. You have your own entertaining space downstairs with a pool table and full size bar and your private bedroom is upstairs. Every item there has a story of how it was found or where it came from or how it was used. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated or carefully made by the owners. It is tastefully decorated with lots of the artwork done by Tanya herself. The entire property is huge with lots to do with plenty of private areas to relax and kick back or gather with your group over cocktails. Recently theyve added chickens so youll get fresh eggs at breakfast. Did I mention, Tanya is a great cook! This place would be perfect for family reunions, weddings, birthday parties, you name it, a good time will be had by all and Jeff & Tanya will make you feel like family. We cant wait to return.

We recently celebrated a 50th birthday at Cedar Oaks and omgosh, we all loved it. We loved it so much were trying to think of what we can celebrate there next. Its a must see and must chill kind of place. We all felt as if we were far in the country. What a gem to find in our own back yard. Thanks to the owners for sharing this beautiful place. My husband and I loved our stay at Cedar Oaks Inn!! The saloon space is amazing, private, super romantic and sexy! Tanya and Jeff are fantastic hosts who looked after us so well, with wonderful drinks, food, and extra surprise touches for my 50th birthday! The backyard patio and pool is an oasis!! My husband and I have attended a few events at Cedar Oaks Inn. Tanya and Jeff have truly poured their heart and souls into creating such a beautiful Bed & Breakfast and venue. They are the most wonderful, gracious hosts! No detail has been overlooked! The location couldnt get any better with direct access to I45 south, but is still tucked away nicely behind mature trees to block out the noise and sight of cars from the freeway. I highly recommend considering Cedar Oaks Inn for your next event, or a romantic getaway.

This is THE MOST, MAGICAL Place!!!! You would Never know you were in a City, as the property is so isolated, in and of itself. The views, the creativity of the entire space...the lovely tranquil pool. Details, exquisite, loving details abound!!! The entire property is beautifully decorated and looks especially whimsical in the evening, there really isn t anything like it. (Also, major points for cleanliness!) Aside from the property itself, Tanya and Jeff are so hospitable and sweet. Oh and whatever you do, don t turn down the breakfast. Just don t!

We were gifted a complimentary night here as a wedding gift. Before using our night, the owners, Jeff and Tanya, invited us to tour the B&B privately. Jeff offered to make us a complimentary cocktail and it was one of the best I have ever tasted! The property is incredible with hidden gems in every corner. I think we could tour it 100 times and still see something new every time. Tanya is a gifted artist and so creative. Every inch is carefully curated and unique. This one of a kind property is unforgettable, but it is the hosts that separate this hidden charm from other B&Bs. The couple are incredibly friendly, so interesting to talk too, and make you feel like you are family and belong in that Chaise lounge by the pool. Rooms: When the host is an artist, EVERY space is exciting and unlike anything you have ever seen. Where to stay? The saloon, the vintage camper, the cottage house... even the chicken Coop is inviting! Seriously, these fluffy Lil nuggets are living the luxury life! Food and drinks: Tanya is a chef and she whipped up fabulous appetizers from scratch. Beware of the Ceviche- once you try Tanyas MASTERPIECE, you will be forever ruined for restaurant ceviche! The saloon begs you to have a cocktail and gets lost in the unique details of the decor.

Update 9.25 22 ***** We held our Dickinson Chamber of Commerce 1920s Soriee event here and it was FANTASTIC! There are so many different places to experience at the Cedar Inn that you can spend hours just experiencing it all. This is a wonderful place to stay and enjoy. ***** 4.21.22 - I was able to tour this bed and breakfast during the Dickinson Historical Society tour. This place is FANTASTIC! The texture of the different materials is wonderful. The pool area surrounded by gazebos and vines feels like a private oasis. This is a great place for a romantic weekend getaway.

My husband and I stayed in the Birdcage Saloon last weekend. We had a wonderful time. It was the perfect romantic getaway. Very private with plenty to keep us busy. Just as pictured on the website. We had a great time swimming and playing yard games like washers and croquet. We discovered a new love for hatchet throwing and really enjoyed our time reconnecting with each other. Tanya and Jeff were so kind. They made us a drink upon arrival and provided us a meat and cheese tray. The breakfasts were really delicious and they included stuff to make mimosas. Everything was clean and very spacious. It was the perfect child free getaway we were looking for. We will be back.

This is a true gem of a place to stay at. Ive stayed at the Four Seasons and would gladly pay the same amount to stay here. If youre looking for something unique and beautiful, stay here!! Its an experience that will blow you away. Everything is art here, from the stain glass windows, light fixtures, hand painted furniture, paintings on the walls, the salt water pool, its all a labor of love! This is most unique and charming place in South East Texas, I absolutely love staying here. The hosts are very welcoming. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and loved soaking in the hot tub. Everything was very clean and we greatly appreciated the coffee bar in the saloon. We had the most wonderful weekend with Tanya and Jeff! Hated to leave. This trip we were in The Barracks house and it is just stunning! Tanya s art and attention to detail are in every nook and cranny. The space is so thoughtful and inviting, Mood lighting and music set the scene for spontaneous dancing and cuddling and the privacy and huge trees made us feel a million miles away from the rest of the world. We can not recommend this slice of Heaven enough. Perfect place to relax and tune back in to your loved one. We felt like newlyweds while celebrating 17 years of marriage. Yum yum yummy Breakfast and bloody Mary s were a daily treat and we savored every morsel! My hubby and I can t wait to return. Thank y all for dreaming this dream, pouring your heart and souls into it and sharing it with the world!
