Customer service was good. Drinks were 6/10. $53 on 2 drinks and an appetizer with tip. Kind of felt ripped off. Paid $15 for the gator bites and it was small and nasty. Tasted like pickles. I would give it another chance and maybe try a different food item.

Went to pick up my order today got a kids meal and the special of the day. Not only was it cold almost frozen it seamed, but horrible tasting. My child complained about how cold the frys were cause he always eats his frys first. He was right they were so cold it would have taken 5 minutes in a microwave to cook them. Wont mention how most of them looked like they had mold growing on them... I get how potatoes have spots sometimes but the majority of the frys being that way plus cold. So I told him to just eat the chicken strips he spit them out. So I tried one.. me being a person of integrity I swallowed but threw them up without my son seeing me. I tried my beef tips.. let me tell u the amount of salt they used could kill a human. The amount of onions in the meal, you can tell they were using as a filler for the horrible tasting food. Heres one for you if you want to go on a 1970s trip there is enough mushrooms you may get what you were asking for. Couldnt find much beef tips to even make a statement on those. The staff was moving as if they were carrying around 100 pounds of weight sooo slow! If this place stays open another year it will seal the deal that there is no place in Dickenson TX off of I45 that is worth dinning at. This food wasnt worthy of prison or dog food. Probably should have bought some pedigree soft food and would have had a better experience. Also the dog food would have tasted so much better Im sure at least it would have smelled better and I would have known it was gonna be cold.

The reviews are artificially inflated as Dickinson has a habit of blindly supporting locals and first responders business ventures regardless of quality. The service is fine and the staff is friendly. However, the food has not improved since their grand opening. The food at Gator s can best be summed up as underwhelming and falls short of a microwaveable tv dinner you can pick up from the frozen foods section at your local grocery store. That s a very low bar. There are plenty of quality food spots in the area. This is not one of them.

The food was nasty. No flavor and the catfish was cooked so hard the crust fell off when I picked it up. My husbands burger was dry with no flavor and the garlic Parmesan sauce for the fries was wet like it was just melted butter. I would not recommend.

1st time here, hoping to have a few drinks at the bar and dinner BUT.. there was a group of gentleman at the end of the bar who were being sooo loud and just using THE F BOMB WAY TOO MUCH! (So much for the family restaurant vibe) they were very obnoxious and didn t mention LOUD! Don t know if the were friends with what appeared to be the manager but if they were, that s a good way to loose business. We were going to have dinner but I quickly changed my mind when one of the guys told the dark haired bartender well at least this drink didn t sit there for 15 minutes the blondish person manager behind the bar laughed with them about it.. and you could tell it made the dark hair Bartender very uncomfortable because she hid in the kitchen for awhile after EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL FOR THE MANAGER AND DISRESPECTFUL. I had to interrupt her conversation blond ish haired person .with the 3 gentleman to get our tab and leave. Was really looking forward to a great experience from all the good things I ve heard but a manager who jokes around with their patrons like that about staff.. I ll go elsewhere. Really left a bad taste in my mouth.. the Dark haired Bartender seemed to be attentive and wanted to stick around to serve us but you could REALLY TELL SHE WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE not cool Gator Manager! But we did enjoy our EXTREMELY cold beer in a glass!

We stopped here to eat after a day at the beach. Loved it. The food is great. Cajun seafood and others. Even my kids ate really well. Our waitress was super nice and the place is beautiful. This will be our new favorite place to stop after going to Galveston beach. Kid-friendliness: Totally kid friendly. These a fantastic bar in the center of the place but there are several tables all around and the kid menu is very flexible. It has 6 or 7 different options. My daughter really loves the fried shrimp and cornbread.

Food was NOT it babe. Expensive for the quality you will get. I got the cowboy? burger and gar. parm fries and my friend got the parm wings. Disappointing because of the hype and the rating. Drinks were not good either. Service was good though. Also, if you plan on eating outside the flies are severely bad. They were landing on our plates and drinks while eating! They were aggressive.

Great service but our food came out about 4 or 5 minutes apart. Food was mediocre, crawfish were small and undercooked and bland. 30 bucks for 3 pounds? Nope. 18 for a snow crab cluster which came with no claws and was missing a leg. We sent it back. Good spot for a cold beer and an appetizer but I would skip the main course.

Was in the area, found this place on Google. Decent reviews but 2 customers inside at lunch rush should have been a sign. Great atmosphere, decent service. It was the food that disappointed. We got the fried catfish and not only was it not fresh, it was un seasoned..extremely greasy to the point it was falling apart, and had been fried in grease that obviously needs changing. Ive had better at a fast food restaurant. The fries were the same way no taste, just old grease. If it hadnt been for ketchup, I dont think I wouldve been actually able to eat any of it Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. But I cant recommend

Im very disappointed. We wanted to support local business. We ordered to go so, I can not say anything about atmosphere. The restaurant looks nice and clean but we are disappointed with the service. We ordered Brochette Shrimps and Buffalo Wings. The shrimps supposed to come with 2 sides. We ordered fries and asparagus. Sadly, when we arrived home, we had just plain shrimps. There were no sides at all. Because we ordered extra asparagus, we were informed that the one order we did have was combained for to portions. Well, why were there 5 pices, not 6 or 4? Wings supposed to come with carrots, celery and ranch, but we had only ranch. After calling the restaurant they offer us to come back and pick up the fries. Beautiful idea. Driving 20 minutes and choosing cold food with fries or hot food with no fries. We choose no fries and sides. We understand that many restaurants have problems with finding good staff, but it was not just one mistake and complete luck of solution. In addition, the shrimps were almost burned. So, that was our first and last time.

We just happened on this restaurant. We were greeted promptly and served by excellent staff who were very accommodating and willing to help each other out. The food was excellent. The Birria eggrolls are highly recommended. The catfish was flaky and hot. The grilled shrimp were perfectly done. The potatoes were the only complaint as they were a bit overcooked and dry. Our first visit to Gators today and they did not dissapoint. The decor is really pretty and its really just the perfect size restaurant. Nice patio area. We each had a Smashburger salad which was yummy...yummy. Plentiful and in a perfectly sized bowl. The added remoulade sauce was a perfect touch. It came with two onion rings which were very good. We opted for the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer which was decadent and delicious. Staff also very friendly. We will go back to this one!!

The food is very good! I highly recommend the cowboy burger! Over the past month, Ive dined in with my family 3 times. Hot food, great service enjoyed in a delightful atmosphere. First note, if youre looking for Gators Family Restaurant you probably wont find it. The building actually says Gators Bar and Grill. Outside in, might not look like a great family establishment, but its ok to bring the kids (at least during the day). We stopped by on our way back to Houston and thought the food was tasty. Wait staff was very nice and attentive. I have an overall 4 primarily for to the wait time. Took a bit of time to get the food out and it wasnt extremely busy (the was one large table, but not huge). When the food did come, it was hot and fresh though. I got the gator tater and would recommend it.

Once again we relied on Google reviews to determine where we ate on our vacation. The Little One ordered fried shrimp, onion rings, cornbread, and Mac and cheese. I ordered the smothered pork chop with rice, broccoli, corn on the cob, and cornbread. The fried shrimp tasted and looked over cooked but the Little One was fine with it so I didnt send it back. The onion rings were okay. The cornbread was cake masking as cornbread. I like a little sugar in my cornbread but this was cake. The smothered pork chop was seasoned well and slightly dry but with good flavor. I really liked the mushroom gravy. Rice was well cooked. The broccoli was well seasoned and very tender. The corn on the cob had some kind of heat to it that I didnt care for. Our server was very friendly.

We started with a drink or two! The mangonada Margaritas were awesome and perfect for the summer! Really cool ocean like atmosphere. I had a crawfish & gator po boy so good. Staff was really nice and super attentive. They made sure we always had a drink in our hand. Great stop for some Southern Coastal cooking and a drink.

Good food and Friendly staff however there one thing that bothers me and its the Price of a BLT its a poor mans lunch yet Many places forget that its like the poor boy sandwich you got to have at least one thing on a menu on a day where youre regular customer might not have the big pocket book and still make them at home. Just my opinion

Excellent food and drinks, Tara, one of the bartenders, makes mean top shelf Margaritas that are both potent and tasty. Talked with the owner while having bar lunch, excellent folks, great ambiance, excellent variety of lunch and dinner, something for everyone. Portions and exceptional food and drinks exceed prices. I dont leave many reviews, this place is well worth your time.

First time coming and have to say I will be back. Fast service and the food was so good. I got the Buffalo chicken sandwich with garlic Parmesan fries. Highly recommend. The place is really nice and clean . Staff was very friendly and fast service.

Ordered the loaded gator fries for an appetizer then had some really good entrée. My wife had a nice margarita to accompany the meal. Fantastic food and service!! Our waitress was amazing. Well definitely come back.

Atmosphere was clean and staff was friendly... The food was garbage. Fried gator was WAY over fried. It didnt even taste good at all. It was just a hard, crunch throughout. We entered the restaurant at about 8 pm, out was maybe 30% full, and we didnt get it food until 9:10. No one at our table enjoyed any of the food. It was a real waste of $80 . Was really hoping for some good local food. Would MUCH rather just go to Razoos for the gator. Sorry to say we wont be going back. Was really looking forward to enjoying it, but, nope - not at all.

Nice little place with great service and even better food. The gator bites appetizer was tasty, but if its your first time trying gator, this might not be the ideal way to eat it. Its delicious, and you do get to experience the texture of gator, but it mostly tastes like fried. The chicken pot pie was amazing and the gator stamp on top of the puff pastry was a nice touch. I ordered the blackened red fish with Andouille cream sauce was RIDICULOUSLY good. Those garlic Parmesan fries were straight up amazing and the brown butter cake we had for dessert, again... Too good. Might make this my traditional place to eat on my way home from Galveston. Excellent experience, cant wait to go back.

A beautiful restaurant/bar. The food was good and fast. Its a little on the higher side for price per portion but the flavor makes it worth it. The staff was kind and attentive. The management stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying everything. All around a decent experience

We were sat at a dirty table and the hostess said she would get us a rag. We should have left then. The waiter ended up cleaning the table for us. We ordered a boiled shrimp appetizer and its was FOUL. It smelled weird and it was very over cooked. We tried one piece and sent it back. Its smelled terrible. The fried catfish was over cooked, the hot wings were not crisp and the coleslaw was awful. The drinks were the only decent part of the experience. Over prices for what you get. One and done for us.
