About the Company

As you walk into the Little Chapel in-the-Woods you are entering into a tradition. Located on the edge of Texas Woman’s University, the chapel is a secluded sanctuary that has held weddings since September 1939, a few months before its dedication by Eleanor Roosevelt. The natural beauty that surrounds the Little Chapel is harmonized by the beautiful interior stain glass windows. The Little Chapel in-the-Woods’ rich symbolism carefully portrays “Woman Ministering to Human Needs” on saw-pierced and riveted brass lighting, woodwork executed in beech and hand carving woodwork on the pews.

This is a beautiful little chapel on the grounds of the university. There are some really gorgeous stained glass to marvel over, and the wood work was amazing too. Our only concern was parking. We finally parked in a permit-only spot, as we decided the risk was worth the amount of time we thought we d be there.

This chapel is so gorgeous. Dedicated by Eleanor Roosevelt in 1939, it is worth a trip to the TWU campus just to see the beautiful stained glass windows - each showcasing educated women, with the largest window showing the roles of a mother. It is such a great piece of Denton history.

The Little Chapel is special to my family because my parents married there in 1952 when my mother was a student. The chapel is such an important part of Denton and TWU history. My daughter chose the chapel for her wedding in May because of these things. Everything went well when reserving the chapel. As the wedding neared we weren t notified our original contact person would be on maternity leave and it took quite a while of trying to contact someone to finally be told who was taking over for her. A simple email giving us that information would have been helpful. The student assistant who was now our contact person made things frustrating and added to an already stressful time. There was a lack of communication and knowledge about what was going on. We were given incorrect information two weeks before the wedding that there was not enough room for the tables and buffet to be set up as had been approved previously. We were told the dance floor could not be made smaller and the buffet would have to be placed in the hallway. We were finally told this information was not true by someone else in the office and were told things could be done as previously planned. The last two weeks before the wedding were very frustrating. Most questions were answered with I don t know and no effort was made to find the answer. Getting married is an important life even and those taking care of this day at The Little Chapel should be knowledgeable and professional.

If you re getting married and still deciding to have a wedding at a particular venue then I say this STOP AND LOOK NO FURTHER. The PRICE, the DECOR, the HISTORY of this venue and beauty is something that cannot be passed up. The acoustics are amazing and the ambience is to die for. Our wedding was very special. Small to medium to large weddings can be accommodated for here. The price is sub $1000.00 which is UNHEARD OF in DFW for this quality of venue is to die for. The staff is very professional as well. We had a fantastic wedding ceremony which we use entire friends and family thought was MAGICAL.

Tucked away amidst the lush greenery of Denton, Texas, this historic chapel holds an undeniable charm that effortlessly transports you to a place of tranquility. From the moment I approached the chapel, I was struck by its graceful architecture. The chapels unique design, featuring delicate stonework and a picturesque steeple, showcases a harmonious blend of Gothic and Mediterranean influences. Its exterior is adorned with exquisite stained glass windows, offering glimpses of vibrant hues that dance with the sunlight, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. Upon entering, I was instantly overwhelmed by a sense of reverence and awe. The interiors intimate size and understated elegance amplify the chapels peaceful atmosphere. As an alumna, having my wedding ceremony here was a dream come true! Nobody needs me to tell them how absolutely beautiful the space is - I didn t bring in a single flower or ribbon of decoration and just let the chapel speak for itself and had zero regrets. Everyone we worked with, including our day-of attendant Maria, was wonderful, helpful, and kind. Absolutely would recommend it! Note: We had a very large wedding party (seven on each side) - working out positioning was tricky, but gratefully one of my bridesmaids was able to help us figure it out because her sister got married there years before - I ll include a picture in case anyone is trying to solve the same issue!

the building & adjacent gardens are beautiful, but dont bother trying to visit, especially on a weekend - as i was so rudely informed by a university employee, no one is allowed within 5000 yards of this place if theres a wedding happening that day. heaven forbid the happy couple should have to see someone they dont know on their special day! i wonder, do they kick all the students off campus for the day, or simply lock them in their dorms for the duration?

I went to TWU for both my Bachelors and Graduate degrees and lived in the family housing on campus with my 2 young children during that time. So, naturally, it was my dream to be married in the Little Chapel in the Woods. One year prior to graduation my dream became a reality and my children were in the wedding and the Chapel was so beautiful and magical and just the right size for me and my family and friends. It was absolutely magical. I wouldnt have chosen anywhere else to spend the one of the most memorable days of my life.

I had my wedding here and it was the best experience. My wedding happened during the pandemic and the staff made such a stressful time so easy. They have a live broadcast option which allowed my family that couldnt make it due to the pandemic, able to watch from home. I received my undergraduate degree from here so getting married here made it that much more special. This place has a lot of history and is just so beautiful that you dont even need to decorate it. The chapel is a bit hard to find but my guests seemed to figure it out. My Grandparents did get lost but the coordinators saved the day. Anyone that wants an intimate wedding should get married here. I do suggested that you get a wedding photographer that is familiar with the grounds because it is so beautiful here and my photographer didnt do it justice.

The Little Chapel In The Woods was a beautiful experience. I m glad we chose them as our wedding venue. From the stain glass windows, the cozy/warm feeling, the lighting, and just the atmosphere in general. The staff was awesome from booking, to following up, till the day of, and even afterwards. I would definitely recommend choosing them as a venue. It was easy to find and the parking was good. And just to be there with the history of it was breathe taking as well. TWU has all the equipment needed to play music, candle lighting if that s what you are doing, and so much more. Definitely go pay them a visit during the week and weekend to see for yourself. Owe and the vast amount of beautiful pictures you can take there as well is a plus.

My husband and I chose this little chapel to get married in 7 years ago, its always wonderful when walking around TWU that we can see the place that we were married. If you havent visited this Chapel or even considered it for your wedding please reconsider and just take a swing by and look at it is gorgeous on the inside.

Beautiful chapel! Attended Sunday evening Catholic Mass ~ wonderful experience ~ small friendly group, great priest, and young adults participating in readings and worship music; excellent homily. Years ago I attended a wedding here, and it was memorable ~ candelabras and a perfect venue for a loving union!
