I like going to McAlister s to get a bite to eat, sip on tea and work on my computer. Service at this location is usually pretty good. I ve had a few average experiences, but overall the service and food quality is consistent and it s a place I can depend on. Recently not super clean, but I just look for a table that looks like it has been cleaned if I m going to sit for a while.

I typically really enjoy coming to McAlisters deli, but Im very frustrated with what I just experienced. I placed a curbside order and waited for about 30 minutes before the to-go parking sign fell on my car and took a chunk of paint off of the hood. The base that was supposed to be filled with either sand or water to prevent this from happening was empty. I went inside and kindly asked the young lady at the register to let me speak to her manager hoping she could ensure this was fixed and that this and it wouldnt happen to anyone else. The manager filled out an incident and apologized for what happened but did not move the signs or weigh them down like I recommend. She stated that corporate would be calling me and then gave me a coupon for a free meal. While I continued to wait for my meal (a bowl of soup and a salad) I watched multiple families come in, order, get their food, sit down, and eat most of their meals before mine was ready. I waited for over an hour for my meals then had to return when they forgot my drinks. The cashier made it clear that she was irritated with my concerns and that made me very uncomfortable. I appreciate the coupons for agree meal, but I highly doubt I will use it if I have to wait over an hour for my food.

Today was the final straw. I dont understand why the night shift cant get their act together. But they should be ashamed of themselves. 99% of my night visits are a total disaster. I order the same thing as I cant eat meat. I order the veggie sandwich with no onions or peppers and add cheese. That should be easy right? Nope, they mess it up by forgetting something or it looks sloppy, or both. Tonight was no different. The sandwich was missing the avocado and was a mess. So I just asked for the avocado, handed it back. They took it back, (which you technically shouldnt do) added two very small chunks of avocado to the edge and brought it back. No apology, nothing. Then as Im waiting, the whole kitchen staff comes to the side door to stare at me and say whatever they said. At that point, I walked up to the manager Chello for a refund. I didnt trust them at that point and so she redunded me and as I told her why, she didnt have anything to say. No apology, just brushed it off. Mind you I am very polite and kind to them when they mess up my order. She didnt offer to make it herself or anything. She knows me because her crew has done this to me before. She kind of just chuckled. It wasnt until I was in tears that she apologized. She has the WORST customer service. The place is constantly dirty. The only reason I have ever come back was because Stevie took care of me and talked to his day crew. Ive literally been here more times than I could count. I should stop coming here, but its too far for me to go to another one. But Ive had it, they dont care and they are lazy. The night crew just doesnt care and something needs to be done about it. Imagine how frustrating it is to order a simple sandwich and its always messed up.

Big thumbs up to Mary and her staff. I was having issues with the website. It was not letting me place my order. I called Mary to let her know I needed them ready a little earlier than what the website listed. She was super nice and said she would have her staff start working on them ASAP. Pickup was timely and the sandwiches were delicious. Thank you for your help Mary! You are very much appreciated. :) We use this location for all of our catering needs and it is always perfect each time.

This Mcalister s location is TERRIBLE. Not only did I find TWO HUGE strands of hair in both of my wraps, but I was also greeted by an older white lady who looked like she wanted to go home. She was rude and had no type of customer service skills . Thankfully, I was able to spot the hairs in my food before taking a bite out of it. But this is unacceptable. The cooks should be wearing hair nets at ALL TIMES. Lost my appetite and I will definitely not come back to this restaurant.

I had lunch with you today and while the food and service were good, I was surprised by the portion size of my meal. I had the choose 2, a potato soup with a cheese sandwich. I dined in and the soup was served in a small paper container like for takeout and it was barely half full. The same issue with my sandwich, not a half sized portion, as I was expecting. Ive dined with you before and this was not what I ve received in the past. I hope this is not the new norm. It wasnt good value and I wont be back if so, very disappointing.

Update: I was given an opportunity to try them out again and they didn t disappoint. Everything was perfect. The New Yorker was so yummy. My daughter loves this place and has been telling me about it for a while. First and last time. No wonder this place was empty! I recently went to the location in Frisco for the first and everything was perfect. So i took my husband here to try since we were nearby. Never again. What a waste of money! Our chicken salad sandwiches were basically bread , a bunch of lettuce and lacked flavor. The chicken was also dry. They went very light on the side of potato salad unlike Frisco location as well.

I went to this McAlisters deli because it was more convenient and was in the area. I normally eat at the North Denton location, but was willing to try this location. Everything was going well, but then I heard an employee asking the manager to go home if labor was too high. In front of customers. I ordered a salad with honey mustard and I came home to find I had no honey mustard. The employee who wanted to go home prepped my salad, so I figured she was more interested in going home than focusing on her work and prepping orders correctly. I was very disappointed that thats the mentality at this location. Ill chalk it off as a rare occurrence, but its definitely one and done for me at this location.

I ordered a sandwich here and bit down on a piece of plastic inside my sandwich. Which did in fact cut into my gums. When I spoke with the manager the response was theyll write my name on a list and I can get a free sandwich next time I eat there. Very poor response to the man with now bleeding gums. we seem to arrive after the lunch crowd which gives the place a chance to breathe and relax. this gives us the time to be pampered. This place is HORRIBLE! I placed an order online for delivery but there was a change that needed to be made. I called the store and they stated that they could not do it and I would have to place a whole new order. With that already being frustrating I did place another order and ended up spending over $80 which was unnecessary. When my food got delivered the delivery driver stated that the employee told him I cancelled my order so there was only one for pick up . That was not the case at all! And they ended up giving the delivery driver the WRONG order that I tried to ask them to fix to begin with. I ordered the Choose 2 with the BLT-A and cup of chicken and dumplings soup. Ive ordered this meal many times. The quality and portions have really decreased, especially for the price. My husband and I ate for $28 with 2 sodas (one was free with my rewards points). I had to search for the avocado on my sandwich. There was just a smear of avocado, and I mean that literally. The chicken and dumplings soup, the dumplings were pretty shredded, not really dumplings in any sense of the word. Service was good and the inside temperate was good (its often freezing inside), but the portion size and quality has really gone downhill. I wish I had taken a photo of my avocado smear, but I was really hungry. Im not sure why my Choose 2 price added an extra $1.25. Im also not sure why a cup of soup was an extra $3.00 ($2.99) as a side with my husbands sandwich. I realize the menu states that, but $3.00 for a small cup of soup seems a bit much. Im not sure I can justify coming back for a mediocre sandwich and soup with these prices. When people have a choice of where to dine with inflation being what it is, its time for people to stand up and demand more from the places we frequent, or at least the quality and portions we used to receive. Again, Ive had this particular meal many times, and the portion size is just continually getting smaller and smaller.

McAlisters is a Deli, but I am a strict on reviews. The Service was more of a 3 1/2, food a solid 4, Atmosphere a 3 1/2. I have always liked McAlisters and have not lost any faith in their service or food. Vegetarian options: I am not vegetarian, but my Teenagers are and we all like eating at McAlisters. Kid-friendliness: The staff did their jobs and to get a 4 with me, you have to go above and beyond. I was happy with the service. I am critical on most ratings. And staff was nice and helped when I asked for help.

People seem to love it but just so so for me. Tastes like a tired Panera Bread. Utterly unremarkable and blah. Lots of food for the price but slow to get it out. Since this biz provided a quick and kind response, asking for more into...let me expand my review... Things to work on: when you build a sandwich if you put a fist sized helping of stuff in the center of the bread what you create is a center section too big to fit in your sandwich hole, surrounded by a lot of empty sad bread. And worse, on sandwiches like a club no one wants to bite through warm bread into an iceberg like hunk of cold turkey. On to-go orders, accuracy is important bc once I am back to the office I cant really fix whats wrong and I am not about to sit there in the parking lot picking through boxes. Things done right.. reasonable prices! Thank you for that! Quick ordering process. Clean location. Hope that helps!

Update on my review from 2 years ago. Service, food, and team was so great today on Loop 288 that I didnt want to miss the chance to recognize them. We normally carry out but today we decided to dine-in. Im so glad we did! This team was friendly, fast, and on point. The manager was working right along with his team members. Thats a leader! I found it very unsettling when I came in to get my to go order this evening when the employees looked unkept and without a clean/professional appearance. The gentlemen that handed me my food had visible purple hickeys all over his neck and handed my food to me with hands that looked dirty. The restaurant overall was dirty inside as well. Whyyyyy do I keep ordering from here??? Food takes forever and more often than not the order won t be correct. Last week I got to eat a dry salad because they forgot to put the dressing in the bag. Typically, they just completely disregard any alterations you make to the order and make it however they want. God forbid you have a good allergy or sensitivity. The people working at McAllisters are so rude now! They got our order wrong twice! We had to fight for salad dressing for salads we ordered and the serving size for the soup we ordered is tiny after they first got it wrong and gave us Mac n cheese instead. Honestly this franchise is the better options out of the other similar restaurant in the city. Their sandwiches are flavorful and their other options are decent. The only real problem is that the people that make the food sometimes make the orders wrong. Such as saying extra Mac and cheese and you never received it. Or you say no onions and somehow you still wind up with onions on the sandwich. Or the sandwich content is so lacking because they barely put anything on it. But overall I enjoy the food enough to keep coming back.

The customer service is exceptional, and the food is always fresh and delicious. The restaurant stays clean, even when busy. Also, when you order curbside pickup or delivery, the food is packaged so well!! I ve had a styrofoam cup of soup tip completely over, and the lid didn t even budge!

3 bad experiences in a short period of time. The first time I waited over 15 mins for my food, the second time I got no dressing with my salad on a DoorDash order, and today I ordered my food, waited patiently for 15 mins and come to find out my food was just sitting behind the counter hidden and nobody bothered to call my name or even look for me. I have a very bad knee and need to be sitting. Either way, that was very rude. The manager must have looked over at me 3 times and didn t bother to help get the food out. Good food but I m pretty mad. I don t tip just because, and you won t be getting any more tips from me.

Quick service, Clean restaurant, and friendly staff. Always recommend getting a large tea, not sure what they use but its great. Also recommend the BLT+A add turkey on croissant, the potato soup, and their chili is awesome (especially on a spud).

This McAlisters is always solid for quality of food and service. They have a knack for botching the wrap (my favorite item) and breaking the tortillas, though. Of note, the kitchen at this location tends to be pretty quick no matter what you ordered. If youre in a hurry, they rarely disappoint. Besides that, its all good! If you like other McAlisters locations, youll like this one.

I frequently visit the McAlister s on University in Denton, but decided to try the loop 288 location. As you can see from the photos instead of macaroni and cheese they gave me macaroni and cheese soup extremely disappointed in how it looked and tasted.

I normally love McAlisters but this was the worst location Ive ever been to. I got a to-go meal and my wrap was 100% open. It was basically a caesar salad in a whole grain bread bowl. I honestly just ate the salad and had the tortilla part as a side. I THOUGHT I was getting a cup of chicken and dumplings but when I opened the lid, it was half a cup of gray water with a few strings of chicken (?) in it. Im not sure if I got a bad batch of soup because I came in 2 hours before close... but really? I would rather have waited for some new soup than getting all the way to my destination and be dissatisfied. If the location wasnt so far I wouldve taken it back and got something else or just asked for a refund. Instead, I paid $8 for half a salad with bread and a half cup of dish water. If youre in Denton, just go to the location on University Dr. Ive never had a bad experience there.

10/27/2021 12:04 -12:31 Been here for a double pickup since 12:04 for merchant request to doordash for delivery of 2 orders. Picked up 1 order and asked about the 2nd order numerous times as it was due ready at 12:06. Both employees I asked didnt even bother to check the back, rather walked around acting as if doing other things. Walk in customers came and left with their food, so I asked again. Was told that it will come out when ready- that it is still being prepared. Brought up issue of been here since 1204, other people have left with walk in orders and this was due at 1206. Girl looked at computer and printed something out. Then told me it isnt in their system... mind you, MERCHANT request.(it means the order was placed directly with McAlister and they sent out pickup request to doordash). Manager came out and said they had received email from doordash that customer would be refunded and order had been canceled because doordash did not send the order to THEM correctly. AGAIN, REMEMBER THIS IS A MERCHANT REQUEST TO DOORDASH. So I asked for that email to call customer support with so that another dasher doesnt show up to a canceled order. Waited another 5 minutes and asked about that print out.... was told they are now making the order.... I called the customer to let her know what was going on with SHADY McAlister. Called Doordash and reversed my already picked up order and had them unassign me from both orders. Filed a complaint AND was paid for my time here. Wont be doing merchant request with them, on top they steal tips and delivery fees we are supposed to be paid with.

Ive been to both McAlisters in Denton and neither one disappoints. You get a decent amount of food for the cost and it is always tasty. The staff is very friendly and receptive if you need anything.
