Cotton Patch 09-24-24 Did a pick up order. The food was warm and good It was ready when I got there. We had the Fried Mushrooms with Ranch. Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potato s, and Squash Casserole. The food was flavorful and hot. The steak was a little tuff but still good. I really loved the Squash Casserole! Fried Fish Plate, Fries, Hush Puppies and Squash Casserole. The fish was crispy and flavorful. Overall it was Good, nothing special but good. I would go back but no time soon. Everyone has different tastes so Be sure and give them a try.

*ORDERED VIA DOORDASH* I wanted to love this place.. but, unfortunately the ketchup on my Meatloaf was VERY salty. I ended up taking the ketchup off & just eating the meat. The roll was good, as well as the okra & broccoli cheddar rice. The Mac & cheese was good.. but dont expect homestyle its more Kraft, still decent though. Everything was fine.. my biggest complaint is the whole salt shaker being dumped on top of the Meatloaf.

Too bad I have to give a star at all. We sat there forever waiting to even get acknowledged by a heavy-set server with a terrible attitude. She went to another table that got there much after us and when her and her attitude finally came over I said we were also ready to order and she very rudely stated well I just got double sat. Oh well. And we were here long before the other table. Her attitude was so bad we walked out. The old woman who sat us had an attitude that matched the other woman. Likely won t be back. There s far too many good places to eat that don t treat you bad. JJ do a better job with your hiring.

The food here is consistently good. What impressed me on July 22 was the care the general manager showed us. He was concerned that we would have to wait while one of the foods we ordered was prepared. He made sure we had something to eat while we waited. Ive never had staff at any restaurant show such concern and care! We highly recommend this place for good food and outstanding service.

The family ordered from here before and everything was great. This time, not so much. Missing items. Items that were substandard and wouldnt even be considered a serving. The baked potato cheese soup is divine but it was cold when it arrived. We ordered four cups. What we got was equal to one cup. Very disappointed that so much was spent for so little. Having second thoughts about ordering from them again. Its a shame because the family enjoys this place.

Update 4/27/2024. Finally ate food from here through uber eats since service here is so bad. The food tasted like cafeteria food and not even good cafeteria food. Very expensive for frozen food. This place needs to close so a real restaurant can move in. What a waste. Original review 2023: Was seated, waited almost 10 minutes for service. No one ever came over to take drink order. As many know, I have dirty restrictions. No garlic, onion, celery, mushrooms, beans, and too much fried food. However, when I explained this to the server, he understood and accommodated me. From the moment they sat us right next to the kitchen area, we knew there would be an issue. Mainly because there were three employees sitting at a table right across from us in the bar area eating cheese fries and working on something on a laptop. The restaurant was dead and there was no reason for us to sit that close to our waitress as she ate and did homework or whatever. The waitress also seemed rushed to get back to said table after every table check, drop off, and return check. No bread or rolls were served. Lettuce in the salad was brown and wilted. Staff stood around and joked which is fine but not when service is lacking so hard. My dinner came with broccoli which was not served with the meal. I finished my meal and got a Togo box and at that time they remembered my broccoli. The potato soup was thick and browned to the point it may as well had been considered mashed potatoes. To top it all off, my partner pointed out a cockroach scurrying beneath our feet. Check please. I havent been to a cotton patch in over a decade and I doubt Ill ever return. $60 wasted.

Dine in and had a bad experience ordered the chicken fried chicken garlic loaded mash potatoes and broccoli cheese casserole waiter come back and says we are out of mash potatoes ok give us a baked sweet potato then she bring plays with a baked potato I m like we ask for sweet potato she says oh we are out of those as well, the chicken fried chicken was to doughy to mush breading and the broccoli cheese casserole tasted old. Update 4/21/24 Though wed try yall out again. Its been a while since the last visit. Was greeted quickly and the staff was very friendly. The tables and the facility was in need of a great deep cleaning. Had the waitress wipe the table down hoping the grease or film would come off...no luck. The ribeye has been taken off the menu, sad. That was one of the best items on the menu. Ordered out food and it came out rather quickly. One of the chicken fried steaks were undercooked, but was fixed quickly. The portion sizes are considerably small than what I remember and prices a bit higher. The food was ok, but not as tasty as I remember either. Overall the experience wasnt bad. The place needs a better cleaning and I think the kitchen staff needs some food quality and cooking lessons. Maybe its hard to find quality help in a college town. Update 5/10/22 Walked in expecting a good dining experience and waited to be seated, as we waited, I noticed several dead cockroaches in the entrance....we just walked out....yuck!

We came here for a meal to try. We enjoyed the pork chops, mashed potatoes with cheese, and fried okra. Also the rolls were fresh and really good too! What made it all so wonderful was the beautiful young man, Aaron-he was so nice, and he had the most beautiful smile, and beautiful hair ever! It was a very wonderful experience! The only one thing was that the mashed potatoes were a little cold, and we asked Aaron kindly could he warm them up for us, and he kindly worked with us and did so. We were very grateful for this wonderful service!

After calling in my order then paying in store, I was told that they didnt have the sides I ordered. I selected another side and sit another 25 minutes after the initial pickup time. I made a comment about sitting so long and them not telling me until after I paid that they didnt have the food I ordered. The response sorry our prep cook is in jail. Get back to work and no lie, the dumplings I ordered where almost all juice! I literally got 3 dumplings and some sides I didnt even want for $13.52. Terribly disappointed in the service, and quality of this food. I certainly wont go back!

I havent been to a Cotton Patch in years and Im glad our family couldnt agree on any of the usual suspects so we tried something new. The only downside was the chicken fried steak batter didnt stick to the steak, but everything else was fantastic. Dr. Pepper burger was sweet and savory and an absolute mess, in all the good ways. Broccoli cheese rice casserole was better than any homemade Ive ever had. Chicken strips were massive and juicy. Jalapeño gravy was a nice departure from the norm, but Id recommend half and half as the traditional gravy was also solid. And the rolls... My gosh, man, THE ROLLS. Our waitress (sincerely apologize but I cant recall her name; Kiara or Kinsey maybe?) had a slow day due to the crazy cold front we had, but she was all smiles and a pleasure. Well definitely be back.

Im not sure what it is about this particular location but it has suffered with terrible service since it opened. They are so slow. And the noise from the kitchen, my gosh. This past Sunday we came here after lunch and was told it would be a 25-30 minute wait. Understandable given out was safety church. However, the person that I think was the manager, didnt take it name. He also failed to get the couple that was before us as well. After about 10 minutes another small group came in but they had their name put on the wait list. So my wife and I decided to leave, as well as the other couple. At any rate, we decided to give them another shot tonight and it just didnt work out. We did dine in but the service was just bad. Everything took longer than it really should have. Appetizer came out just a couple of minutes before our meal. The chicken fried steak was awful.

I ordered soup and corn bread for supper. Both were so cold that the butter never melted on the bread or the cheese on the soup. The cornbread was sticky sweet with way too much syrup on it. I regret not capturing images of the food. Firstly, the service was exceptionally poor. It took a server a whole 10 minutes to acknowledge my presence, even though the restaurant had just two other patrons on a Sunday evening at 8 PM a concerning sign. When I requested water, I was informed that they had run out of ice and received lukewarm water instead. My disappointment continued with the mushroom appetizer, which arrived burnt and lacking in flavor. The chicken fried steak resembled a hockey puck and was excessively greasy. The okra was no better, with only around 8 pieces in my meager serving. The mashed potatoes were clumpy and cold, and I didnt even receive any rolls. The sole positive aspect of this dismal dining experience was the kind and attentive server, Madelynn P. She is undoubtedly an asset to the Cotton Patch company. I have no intentions of returning to this establishment; Id rather dine at the Waffle House down the street.

First off the place was disgusting, there food all of the floor, trash that sat there the entire time.. out of all the employees I saw look down and keep walking.. and you can NOT tell me all that trash and good under those cabinets was just from today!! DO BETTER!! My hamburger patty was burnt black on one side.. fries were soggy like come on! At least get something right!

Best of luck. Ordered 80$ worth of food and only part of it is edible. Forgotten sauce, overcooked meat, fish, hush puppies, rotten veggies in a plastic bag, and unseasoned rice. Someone might be having a bad day but why did no other team member catch this? Not expecting 5 star meals but at least ALL of it edible.

I really enjoyed the food. I had ordered this from UE the day before and wanted my husband to try it. We went to the restaurant and it was 100% a totally different experience. There was us and another table but we kept having to go track down our waitress and get her off her phone to get service to order, to get drinks, to get anything. Hugely disappointed, but would definitely order it again to go.

I ordered delivery so I cant rate the atmosphere. I ordered the chicken fried steak, sides of garlic mashed potatoes and southern green beans. The steak breading was crisp if a bit dry and thick. The mashed potatoes were also dry and dense. The green beans had a nice kick to them. Separating the gravy was much appreciated. Overall portions were a good meal. There could have been more gravy to offset the dryness but it sufficed.

Hmmm, this was my first time trying Cotton Patch. Wasnt impressed at all. Reminded me of an old time Furrs Cafeteria. Not that they were bad, but just wasnt great. Food was too bland for my liking. Service wasnt great either. Younger group of servers and they seemed a little lost.

Cotton Patch Cafe is always a great place to go and eat, today I brought my sister who has never been here before. Alex was the young man that greeted us and led us to our table. He was very polite and stayed busy doing different things when there werent any people waiting to be seated. Our servers name was Anthony he was very polite and knowledgeable, he told us that he had only worked there for three weeks. He was very attentive to all of his tables, my sister had him running back and forth but it didnt seem to bother him. If you go to the Cotton Patch Cafe in Denton be sure and ask for Anthony, you wont be disappointed. The food is always great also.

Juan did an amazing job handling multiple tables, bussing, and hosting alone while making sure I got everything I needed in a timely manner. Great job! So 06/29 I went to this establishment per usual on my way home from work, I ordered 2 chicken fried chicken dinners with different sides on both orders. My side order was broccoli rice casserole (delicious by the way) and broccoli, when I tell you the broccoli was old which I can tell because I eat it all of the time, should have never been sold period. I wish I can post a picture to the site. Not to mention I spend a little over $30 or more every time I visit this restaurant. Before anyone ask, why I didnt take it back, well I work in Denton which is over an hour from my place. I really dont like to post bad reviews on companies but this here was the last straw.

Saturday afternoon before Mothers day: It was graduation weekend for the two universities in town. NOT a new thing. And they were completely understaffed then refused to seat anyone because they were only filling online orders. Several people left after waiting 15-20 mins as that was what the wait time was per the hostess. After waiting for the said wait time, someone asked the hostess how much longer and that is when she said they were only filling online orders before they would seat anyone else. There were apprx 6 different small size groups/families waiting to be seated There were three servers working, one online /to go person, two cooks and manager in the kitchen and a hostess. WE left too so several of these questions dont nt apply.

Update: 5/18/2023 Its has been awhile since we have been here but decided to give it another try. This time was tons better. We were seated quickly. Our waitress, Beverly, was fast, and looked hard to anticipate our needs before we asked and was just an all around nice person. Unfortunately, they were out of the food we ordered after we had placed the order. The manager on duty came by and sincerely apologized and offered some suggestions that turned out to be delicious. I never expect perfection as things happen. This crew, however, was fantastic and I am happy to change my review and stars Thanks for a great meal! Update 8/19/2022. I forgot to update my review last month when I left because my food was never brought out. For some reason, we decided to come back today. There is hardly anyone in the restaurant (see picture) and once again the service is agonizingly slow. We have been seated for an hour and still have not seen our food (table of 4). This is not limited to one employee. This is persistent enough that it is indicative as a management issue and probably a neglectful owner. We left after an hour and a half with no food once again. I am truly done with this place. Update: 2/15/2022: tonight was much better. Service was fast and the food was good. Updated stats reflect the average. Tonights service was 5 stars. The restaurant was only 1/4 full. There were 4 cold in the kitchen and it took an hour and twenty minutes to get out food. The food tasted good. An apology was made by our waited but that was it. I hate our post covid world customer service.

It was aweful. I went with an old friend of mine and her 2 kids. The kids mac n cheese was ok... My friends chicken sandwich had old, wilted lettuce on it with blackened ends, and when she got less than half way through it, she took a bite that she literally couldnt bite through b/c it was so dry and tough. I got the pecan crusted flounder... there were three filets, and the first one was oily and soggy, but I ate it. I took a bite out of the 2nd filet and had to immediately spit it out into a napkin because it tasted rotten. The restaurant was MAYBE had 5 other tables full when we arrived for an early dinner, but still it took over an hour for the food to come out and the servers didnt bother to check on us the whole meal. Im not much for giving negative reviews...but really avoid this place. It was an aweful experience.

Waited 20 minutes to put in order Waitstaff were hapless.. manager was loosing his cool in front of customers because his staff where standing around and not taking care of customers . This manager needs to be fired!!!! I went there with my family (5) of us, everything we tried to order 5 minutes later the server came back to Inform us that they were out of that particular item. No straw s no pickles no mushrooms no bacon. Mind you each of the foods we ordered were a trip for the server.Then after the lack of food options the drinks we ordered were made incorrectly. Nothing at this restaurant was available or pleasant. Every answer/explanation we got of why there is an issue, it was an ordering error with the supplier. At what point is this the customer responsible and why would you allow us to order food that is not available in the store. This is a clear lack of customer care as well as poor communication skills with management and employee to customer. Do not eat here unless you are on a fasting diet.
