I ordered the Hunan stir fry plate and it smelled like a dirty diaper when it was brought out to the table. I googled while I was at the restaurant and it appeared to be the smell of rotten bamboo shoots, which were in my dish. Our waiter was very kind and brought out a new dish free of charge, but I will probably not return.

Food is bland. Nothing to rave about, at all. Not a whole lot about this place is Asian......from the mexican cook to the Mexican music I cant really say the atmosphere is exactly Asian at all. Food and service were good. The bad part of it was we didnt get to enjoy our food due to trying to keep the abundant amount of flies off the food. Everytime you try and take a bite, the flies were getting on the food. When you spend $135 you expect to have a good time with your family and not make it a fly swatting contest while eating. I used to love going to Mr. Chopsticks back in college and it still has the same looks and vibes from back then. Wish there were pan fried dumplings instead of just fried, though they were still tasty. The nigiri left a lot to be desired, with way too much rice underneath the fish, about double the normal amount. The yakitori may as well have been a normal chicken tender cooked in a pan until done and then drizzled in teriyaki sauce. If you come here stick to the Chinese menu because thats where this place shines, the Japanese menu will only leave you wanting.

Denton institution for Chinese food near the university. Food is good but pretty standard Chinese. This is one of the places the locals go to when the we haven t been there for a while urge strikes. Also immediately adjacent to the Howdy Doody convenience store known mostly for its funky retro sign.

It makes me sad to write reviews like this because this restaurant is beloved by Dentonites but I have long wondered why. It is some of the worst Asian food I have ever had. I wonder if it s trying to do too many things at once since they serve multiple Asian cuisines but, despite this, we decided to give it a second chance after our first experience back in 2015. Unfortunately, we were disappointed a second time. We are not picky eaters by any means but I truly believe I could find something in the frozen dinner section at our local grocery store and it would taste better. Our entrees were soaked and soggy in a watery sauce with virtually no flavor. They didn t resemble what they should have at all and ended up in the trash. I don t think we ll give it a third chance.

Pho meat was grilled???? Pho had not enough noodles. Stir fry vegetables were charbroiled and flavor was terrible. Sushi was dry and even the table next to us tried a bite of something and had to spit it out. Our server was kind but the cook needs training. The place needs a thorough cleaning as well. Sorry about leaving a negative review but dont want anyone else to experience $50 loss for feax asian Pho or stir fry. On a positive note, the deep fried Crab Rangoon was tops.

Take out did not meet the reviews others were leaving. Crab Rangoons were soft and taste was not on any crab point. Egg drop soup had no specific taste, it was dished into container and left to sit on counter while the rest is the food was prepare. The price of an order Chicken Fried rice was $14, I added extra egg. The container of fried rice had a no egg bits and some egg noted. The taste was alright, but the chicken was suspicious. I hate leaving less that 4 star reviews, because in this economy you want lift up and not tear down. The higher cost of food, the less than clean front end, and the less than ideal quality allows my conscience to post.

My family and I have lived in this city for almost a decade and this was the first time we had tried mr. Chopsticks. We live on the other side of town but had heard so many wonderful things and Im so glad we finally stopped in. They have an amazing menu. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. My son and I ate here for the first time tonight. We live right down the street and all I can say is we were Extremely disappointed. We ordered Miso soup, hot and sour soup, fried chicken pot stickers, egg rolls and the chicken mixed veggie dish. When the main dish came out it had a foul odor to it. My son and I took one bite then sent it back. It tasted as if something was spoiled. My son only took 1 bite of his egg roll and thought that tasted off as well (egg rolls are his absolute favorite) we ended up ordering 2 more bowls of soup to go because we were starving and we knew that was the only thing we thought tasted decent. I ve been meaning to come here since I ve moved to Denton. So glad I finally did. Service was excellent. Andrew does an excellent job at ensuring you re satisfied and enjoying. The Rice paper rolls with avocado were a refreshing way to start the meal. We then inhaled our sushi. So delicious and just a wonderful medley of flavors. You could tell it was made with love. Ive eaten here many times before and food was ok. Yesterday I ordered sweet & sour pork , cashew chicken, steamed dumplings and pork fried rice. I called in my order, was told it would be 25 minutes, I arrived after 30 minutes and the order wasnt ready. Ten minutes later the last two items to come from the kitchen were the pork and chicken. I live 3 minutes away, when I got home the chicken and pork were cold, and were so over cooked that the meat was inedible. It was hard and tasted like it was cooked a day or two prior. The dumplings were good but there was no sauce. The rice was mushy. Anyone can have an off night but this was beyond off and should never have left the kitchen. Theres no way they didnt know what was going out the door and thats a problem. I wont be going back, and I wont be recommending them.

This use to be the best Thai in the area, hands down. Since 2020 I have been hugely disappointed any time I have gone back and lacks consistency in taste. Mr Chopsticks is-in my opinion-the best place in Denton for Asian-style food. It had already established before I had visited myself. I sat down at an outside patio that has a pleasant view of the neighborhood surrounding it. I had the steamed-pork pot-stickers, crab rangoons, and shrimp tempura with brown rice and cucumber salad. I thought each dish was well-above excellent. Its truly a good place for any good quick Asian dish that looks and tastes homemade. While it may not be one of my favorite restaurants of all time, its still an incredible establishment on its own. I give my highest rating in hopes that it continues to satisfy its customers.

They did not give very many chicke. and the beef was definitely old. I smell bad beef before fragrant of scallion!!! I was very hungry and I ate all of the food , but the after I felt very sick and dying. My friedn order beef fry rice did not eat more than 3 bite before felling sick. They also get completely wrong in spic elevel. although tasted the sichuan pepper, corn, fry rice was salty, no spicy!!! High spice level and taste like high blod pressure... It remind me of my friend cooking. My friend is deaf and did not hear smoke alarm. after he burn his hanndd (he did not realize his han d on fire). His hand fall in the wok, and food at Mr Shoptick. taste like. it. \The worst part! when the waitress greet me, THEY GIVE ME FORK! NOT CHOPSTICK! IF THEY WANT TO NAME MR. CHOPSTICK THEY SHOULD GIVE CHOPSTICK! OR RENAME TO MR. FURK!

I would have loved to eat lunch here since Ive eaten here before and it was really good. But we walked in, its self seating so we sat down, were never greeted, no one ever looked up. There was 1 employee watching YouTube by the counter, 2 others casually going around to the other tables and no one ever looked our way, so went to Mellow mushroom instead with a much better atmosphere! There were only 3 parties in this whole restaurant, including us.....

Do not be scared off because of our price per person as we ordered extra portions intending to take home left overs. Where to start. Everything we have eaten here over several visits has been great. Their Miso soup is one of the better miso soups I have had north of San Antonio. They have a fantastic selection of food to pick from traditional Japanese street vendor meals and sushi options to traditional Chinese meals. There is something for everyone. I did surprise them when I ordered my saki hot. Being a college town most of their customers order the saki new style of cold. They went out of their way to get us hot saki. I *highly* recommend the Peach Saki. Oooooh was it great. I highly recommend this place. I live 55 minutes away according to Google Maps. This I our destination restaurant at least once a month.

A little disappointed the last time I went. I got the yellow curry. Normally they bring out a decent amount of food. This time they brought out a single plate with a scoop of white rice and a small bowl of curry. Just didnt feel like I got the bang for my buck. I was still hungry after my meal. The friends I went with were also hungry. Just feel like they made their portions smaller.

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat, but man! It has really gone downhill. Ive been here so many times and never had a complaint. I was so sad to have to change it from my 5 star rating to this 1 star. Server seemed high or something. Very spaced out and couldnt get our order right or even understand what we were saying. They changed their fried potstickers and theyre so weird and breaded?? It looked like a chicken nugget. The service was awful they have one clueless server here right now that has no idea what he is doing and after an hour of waiting on him to get a clue, someone finally came out to help him. I waited over an hour for my two rolls of sushi and it was not even busy. The food was sub par and overall experience was trash. Ill never be back.

Long long wait for walk up after many unsuccessful call attempts. Menu on google does not match menu in store. Friendly staff but was a slow, chaotic place. Food was so so. A good mix of asian cuisines- some American Chinese, some Viet, some Thai. Food was not bad per se, but I probably wont go back.
