I visited a while ago, the inside of this is incredibly interesting. I really enjoyed seeing the overall design of the building. It s too bad things aren t competently built with longer lasting materials like this anymore. A home similarly built like this would be pretty amazing.

Let me preface this comment by saying that I am not a Denton native, having been born in Greeley, Colorado in the 1960s; however, our family moved to Texas so that my father, a college professor could take a job in Houston at the University of Houston; likewise, my entire family moved to north Texas so he could take a position teaching educational foundations at Texas Woman s University here in Denton. As fate would have it, I attended public schools in Denton, graduating from Denton High School and then turning around and and going to University of N. Texas, graduating Magna cum Laude in 1985. Education has always been stressed in our family as a means of moving up in the world. After graduating from University of Houston with my MBA and Ph.D. in Business Administration, Organizational Behavior - Management, I went overseas to Christchurch, New Zealand, where I contacted the deadly disease meningoccemia septicemia, which turned to gangrene, resulting in quadrilateral amputations. I now am very fortunate to be living in N. Denton, in disabled accessible duplex with the significant amount of assistance from three caregivers, working in shifts. Am so glad we haven t forgotten Denton s rich Wild West history and this is preserved and on display downtown, despite the protests of the political Left. I, for one, am quite proud to call the city I love, and where I spent a great portion of childhood home. Cheers, Mark C. Fearing, Ph.D?

Super nice docents with lots of knowledge about Denton history. You sign in and then take your own walking tour of the displays on the first floor as well as the court room on the second floor. Go it your own pace. Fun things for kids to play with also. It doesnt matter if your new to Denton, visiting Denton or have lived in Denton for every, there is lots to learn from this museum.

I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon at the Denton Courthouse Square. The drive was approximately 30 min. from my home. The temp was in the high 90s but under the large shade trees it felt 10° cooler. A nice breeze was blowing also. I had prepared a swanky picnic lunch that included wine (Non-alcoholic), hordureves, and other lite fare. There was a jazz band playing and a volunteer group was handing out free snacks and water. There was a nice crowd but social distancing was not a problem at all. The vibe was unbelievably nice. I am definitely going back again. A great way to spend an afternoon.

I cant say I have a more personal, comfortable, outdoor spot that gives me the free reign of meeting with friends and setting up shop. A true creative persons dream space, Ive had birthdays, parties and bday tea parties here in this perfect space. Surrounded by a tributaries of fine things to do a sandwich, coffee, pack of hemp cigs, or a beer is literally a hop away. If I hadnt ever lived in NOLA then I might call this my favorite square; all the same, it definitely deserves my 5 stars.

This is part of our Countys long history preserved. It sits in the center of town and is well manicured and cared for. Theres a museum open inside daily l believe. This courthouse is the center of our towns square and is surrounded on all 4 sides by quaint & unique locally owned restraunts, coffee shops, bars, and a back in time candy store w/ a cool comic store. During spring and summer theres car shows, rallies, movies on the courthouse lawn, weddings, & local dog festivities taking place there. Its a great place to picnic or play pokemon. Free to public.

Ive lived here for years and didnt know all of the local history. This great little museum that helped remedy that. Small, but packs in more than you would expect. Very interesting and informative displays. Some great antique items from Texas past too. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside is the parking. The museum is literally the center of the city center. Since there are so many fantastic shops and things to see here, you almost always have to park a block or two away. But then you get to pass by all the cool shops too, so not much of a downside.

Awesome stores all around including an ice cream store, a pub and restaurants to enjoy! I was actually at LSA Burger Co. right across the Courthouse and its view from said location was stunning! There are a lot of little antique gift shops and bars around the area. Its a historical landmark location so dont expect to find anything fancy or modern. Loved the place!
