Had a wonderful experience here. Food and service were wonderful. I had the Flamedo and my wife the Chimichanga and both were really good. The charro beans were packed with flavor, the salsa was fresh and delicious....we will be back

Chicken chorizo relleno had 2 cubes of chicken no chorizo and was soggy due to watery ranchero sauce. 4 of us are different items and were underwhelmed. Queso bland. Salsa meh. Chips on the stale side. Average bland Mexican. Bland TEX MEX would have been better. In response to response. First time there so I m not familiar with your preparation but an expediter or cook should be. We did come back yesterday as I just had dental surgery and needed some bland soft food and you didn t disappoint. Tell your cooks to nuke the cheese enchiladas a little longer, mine weren t melted inside. Also, charge for onions on top of enchiladas? No muy authentico!

Mi Tata is an amazing restaurant!! The owner is so engaging and kind!! The staff is always friendly and helpful!! The food is so delicious!! I love the Chimichanga!! All the tables were taken when we arrived so we ordered our lunch from Tory at the bar and had a very enjoyable lunch. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. They have a small outdoor patio I would like to try when the cooler weather comes. We will be back!

I enjoy coming here, because I love Mexican food! What makes it REALLY nicer is the manager, Jose, hes very nice and friendly! So is Lemuel, and there was a very sweet soft-spoken young man named Francisco, and he was really accommodating as was Lemuel was! We enjoyed them all, and hugs were shared! It was a heartwarming experience, and the food was great! I also want to add that my favorite part of this restaurant is the chips and salsa! I also suggest you try to queso cheese! Its also my favorite-thick, hot and creamy!

Tex-Mex food here is very good. One interesting thing is that with your meal you can select charro or refried beans or lentils. Waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. Food arrived in timely manner. This place is a little noisy but not so much that it interferes with conversation at the table. Overall a really good place to take family or a few business associates.

My favorite restaurant in the world!!! I ve been over a dozen of times and I get their steak everytime and it s never chewy it s so tender it falls off the fork I think that s very impressive! First time dining at this restaurant. It was a bit busy on a weeknight, but we were quickly seated. Chips and salsa were incredible! Light and crispy chips and the salsa is very fresh and flavorful. I ordered the Chicken Feast that came with a flauta, a chicken enchilada, chicken quesadilla, rice, beans and a cup of queso. A lot of food for less than $13! Tip... get the charro beans instead of the refried beans. My wife had beef Enchiladas. We both had the sour cream sauce on our Enchiladas. It was lacking a bit in flavor. We did spy a HUGE plate of nachos served to our neighboring table. Definitely caught my attention. Overall it was a pleasant date night dinner. Good service, prices are less than a lot of other Mexican restaurants and the portions are generous. We will definitely be going back!

This place was just shy of being the equivalent of Taco Bell. The dining experience was nice. It was clean and the waiters were speedy. But the only thing that was worthy of praise were the chips. The salsa didnt satisfy nor did our entrees. It was a bit pricey. Next time we will be more mindful of the people that have reviewed this place. The place was nice and clean. Not a big establishment. The family and I were in town for a football tournament and decided we wanted Mexican food. This place was close to our stay and had not the greatest reviews but the best in the area. As a Mexican family the food was toned down to the equivalent of a Taco Bell. And the reviews mustve been done by local loyal customers. The place was packed with people which regularly visit Lubys cafeteria. That explained it all.

They serve some of the best green enchiladas. I took my out of town friend here when she visited and she even loved them despite being such a picky eater. The owner who always seems to be there is very nice, you can tell he cares a lot of his customers and the business. I was here one day when one of the waiters (I forgot his name) was going through his first day waitering and he was so courteous and fun to talk to.

Hands down the best crunchy beef tacos I ve ever had. Paired so well with a skinny marg and some refried beans. Sometimes ground beef in a taco can be a bit jenky. Not here. Taco shell was warmed and it was really thin and crunchy and made a total mess when I took a bite- just how you want it to. The skinny marg was fresh made and was super refreshing and light. Not too heavy on the lime- which is perfect for me. Hubs loved the fresh salsa (I m allergic to cilantro so I couldn t partake). He said no way the food would be less than amazing with salsa that fresh and spicy. He had tacos carbone and was not disappointed! We sat at the bar and the service was good even though they were slammed busy. This place is a hidden gem with great food and zero pretentiousness.

At first we were greeted by two different people, one of them was very friendly and nice. After seated, they swapped in a different guy to be our server. This guy seemed like he was wanting to go home and having a bad day. No smile, attitude in his tone, and poor responses. The tamale and fried bean were too salty for us. Loud and noisy and crowded inside and some customers had blocked the traffic making it difficult to exit. Overall experience, everything was okay.

Mi Tata is a pleasant elevation in the Tex-Mex restaurant scene. This Mom and Pop treats guests as family, serving well crafted items. Great food and drinks. The waiter was awesome as well. From the moment we walked in the door to when we left, they were hospitable and full of smiles. One of my favorite things is we didnt have to scream over everyone to hear each other like so many other places. As a child, restaurants were so quiet, all you heard was forks hitting plates and whispering. These days, its like going to a bar full of drunks who make a train sound quiet. Lets start off with how the food is! Its what you would expect and then some with the food. Its authentic Mexican food so you know its going to be great. They give you a large portion so come hungry! The service was pretty good and fast and we got served chips and salsa for free. The food was kept hot n good and our cups full. Not much more to say other than it was awesome service. And lastly the atmosphere. It felt authentic with south-of-the-border music playing in the background and wood furniture everywhere. I give 4 stars because there are a few things food wise that could be better, the fajitas, beef enchiladas, they could just use a little extra love. I have been getting the street tacos and love them. Last time my husband got a margarita and it was super sour, he couldn t drink it all. I would give 10 stars to the service, we went on a Friday night before the movies, everything came out quick, I think every single employee stopped by our table at some point to see if we needed refill on salsa, water, drinks, chips. We have been eating at MI Tata for years. I eat the same thing every time, and certainly, it has changed. Our family was talking between ourselves, wondering if they changed management or owners. None of our food was great like it always has been in the past. Truthfully, the other 2 Mexican restaurants in Denton they own, MI Tata ALWAYS HAD great food. We would drive further to go there because your other 2 restaurants are average to below average. Now Mi Tata tastes just like your other 2 restaurants. Seriously sad to say this because you were one of my favorites. We love this place and I m from San Diego. I grew up on authentic Mexican food. First couple times were good but the last couple times have been amazing! Everything is very fresh with such great flavor. Tonight we had the combo fajitas for two. Everything from the meat to the salsa was absolutely perfect! This is becoming our new regular spot.
