I ordered a half tray of biryani from your restaurant, but I was quite disappointed with the portion of rice provided. The quantity of rice was not even sufficient for three people, while the chicken pieces were disproportionately higher. After finishing our meal, we were left with many chicken pieces and very little rice. It felt more like a chicken starter garnished with rice rather than a proper biryani. I have attached a photo showing the leftover chicken pieces.

I went and ordered at 12:30 mind you the place only had 2 customers that already received their food. At 12:50 I asked where it was and decided to ask for my money which they refused. I had a class to got to at 1 pm which I explained to them. The man told me he was packing it. I waited 5 more minutes. No food. I dont normally do this but waiting 20 minutes for one plate was distasteful and what was worse is refusing to give me my money back without recieving my food.

This is so RIDICULOUS!!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I have ordered palak paneer with Naan, they have sent me only the naan without the curry!! Reaching them out the girl told me that she had refunded it back without any notice! I asked her how should I eat without the curry her answer is THATS NOT IN MY HANDS ! Why are you people accepting the orders if it is out of stock? And her behavior is SOOOO RUDE!!

The music pulls you in, the cashiers are extremely helpful and gracious with answering guests questions. Masala tea wasnt available, but the Irani tea is very good. In addition to the wonderful vegetarian options there are great desserts: The small cookies in front of the cash register are quite delicious with the tea. Last, but not least, guests at this restaurant feel cared for and valued. They are important at Desi Adda. Welcome! Vegetarian options: There are plenty available and delicious as well. Try the chana masala with basmati rice. An excellent choice with raita cascading down over everything. Perfection! Dietary restrictions: The manager, Sankar, was incredibly helpful with my familys gluten-free questions. I have never experienced a manager before to be that detailed in his or her answers in this regard.

It happened with me 3 times. We went to have pani puri in evening ,they said chaat section will open after an hour bcz chefs are busy, so we waited. Then to pass the time my frnd ordered tea, and the response we got was it will take 30 min for tea bcz chefs are busy. Bro.. there was only 2 other customers who were already done with their food, where were ur chefs busy? Tea only takes 10 min if u r making it fresh, n I believe none of the restaurants serves fresh tea. They claimed that they are preparing for night, if u guys are so concerned with night customers u should change ur timings to night hours . I dint like the unprofessionalism these ppl showed. The same thing happened 3 times in a span of 2 weeks. We drove to college and wanted to have some food but desi adda chefs are ALWAYS BUSY. Please take their appointment before driving so far.

I ve been here since the beginning of when Desi Adda was opened. My partner and I used to come here, get the chaat and then the biryanis. Food was decent at the time considering the other Indian restaurants in Denton weren t that great. Recently, the last 10 times we have been (within the last 6 months), the quality of the food and the restaurant has been awful. The owners have hired some really incompetent people to work at the restaurant. These workers have no people skills and are increasing difficult to work with. This last time I ordered take out, and purposely came 20 minutes after I ordered because the previous times I have had to wait 30+ minutes. The same thing happened this time around, the food was not ready until 1 hour later and 40 minutes of me waiting. I was told it would be finished in 15 minutes, but the girl upfront was just delaying. I ordered 2 biryanis and 1 munthu masala and the biryanis were done before the munthu masala. The food tasted TERRIBLE. I think even the people who used to cook have moved on from this establishment and you can really tell by the taste of the food. This should be a wake up call to the owners esp in a place like Denton. They need to up their reputation. I wasted my time and my money going there. I have given this place too many chances in the past, and now because their management is not taking precautions to fix what s going on, I will stop coming here.

Some of the best food in town. and the customer service is top notch, apparently some dumb ahhhh dude got drugged and beat up (whit his week ahhh) but i ve never ran into that problem. Desi Adda is one of my go-to locations for Indian cuisine. This lovely location on the south side of Dentons downtown square is always providing super fresh and delicious food. Some of my favorite entrees are their palak paneer and dal tadka, with a bullet or garlic naan on the side. Highly recommend this restaurant if youre in the area!

I have tried this place 3 times. The food is hit or miss on what you will like. Overall its good. I have tired 6 things in my 3 visits and liked half of them. But I expect something like that. My low rating is the rude and racist staff. They have giving me a hard time EVERY time I am in there. This last time I give them cash for a Pepsi and she REFUSED to give me my change back. The first two times I actually went there and could not believe how they talked to me and the one I was with. The last time I ordered online and when I picked it up it was the same thing, just rudeness and all I did was walk in with a smile and let them know my name and that I had ordered online and gave them my name. The other issue is the extremely long wait time on food. I ordered, online at 2:15 and they sent a message that it would not be ready until 2:55-3:00. That is insane especially being it was completely empty when I arrived to pick up the food. I tried canceling but you cannot do so when you order online. Maybe you will have a different experience, but I will never visit again. The stuff I liked was really good, too bad I cannot go back in due to rude staff. there are many other places that are just as good in town to enjoy this amazing style of food (one of my personal favorites)

Great Indian food made its way to Denton! The staff is so kind, and helped us with our order. The restaurant is full of people, and for a reason! They have delicious food and an entire case full of pastries and sweets as well as a hot food small bite section. They also have a small grocery section with snacks, drinks, and more. We ve been here several times, enjoyed every single meal without issue. If you re new to this food I recommend trying Butter Chicken and Butter Naan. It s our favorite, but we also enjoy Palak Paneer, and Biryani dishes. They use full spices in their rice, so be sure you know to watch out for those. Get the Irani Chai!!

Hi all, so today morning I have been to desi Adda around 10:30 to have unlimited breakfast buffet and it was a horrible experience. For the first thing we had to use the same plate for food again and again which does not happen in buffet when I asked the cashier are we supposed to use the same plate all the time they told yes. Second thing the food was cold literally idlis were so cold and they dint even refill for long time, coming to the dosa counter so there was this person who was preparing dosas which was good to taste and was even hot but GUESS what there was no tongs or what all of you call it to pick dosas and put them in the plate we had to do it with our own hands. Lastly they didn t even turn on the Air Conditioner, being in Texas and that too in summer you all know how hot it would be inside. Never experienced such situations before. Overall please improve Desi Adda.

This place gained popularity for their decent tasting Indian food with affordable prices. Otherwise the atmosphere, maintenance and service are all pretty bad. The wait times are super long and they are now charging 15-20% more than the prices listed on their menu. I posted the pictures of one dish as an example. Editing it here since I can t reply to their response: 1. They said they strive to maintain transparent pricing, yet they are charging more than the prices on their current menu. 2. I do understand that the wait times vary by customer volume, but the unclean tables and huge wait times I mentioned were from a time when there was barely any crowd present.

Ordered pick up. Restaurant seemed nice- a lot of seating options. The desert selection looked good. Its an order at a register and food brought to you type of place, so if you want full service dining Id recommend Namaste instead. I wanted to branch out from my normal Masala or Korma, so decided to try the Chicken Pulao. Very spicy for me, but the flavor was on point. The rice was delicate, fluffy, and seasoned perfectly. I received two sauces with my meal; Im not sure what they were, but they were mild. One was white with onions and peppers- seemed to be a yogurt sauce. The other was yellowish. Both were very tasty. I also ordered garlic naan and was not a fan of it at all. Naan is usually a must have for me when its offered, but Ill be passing up on it the next time I eat here. It wasnt soft and didnt have much garlic flavor. Tough to chew on. Not appetizing at all. Excited to try them again.

Food is excellent and authentic, and theres a good spice level. Masala Dosa was good, and the Gobi Manchurian was excellent. Order at the counter, take a number and theyll deliver the food to your table. Limited drinks - a few types of soft drinks and some different lassis. Full dessert spread for purchase...we didnt try that. Would definitely go back. Great addition to Denton.

We went to the restaurant for a late lunch and we ordered our food and when we ordered the food the Astro tip usually when you go to a restaurant you don t give a tip till after you get the service you try the food everything you don t give a tip beforehand, but they re insistent I said no I always do it after the service we waited for the food. My wife got some of her food and then we waited for my food and after over 40 minutes I still have not got my food. The people that were all coming in after me three different customers all got their food or came in. There were two or three people in a group and they all got their food because they re Indian I m white my wife is Filipino and it was most horrible service we ve ever had at any restaurant in our life they treated us bad we kept asking for my food they kept saying oh it s getting cooked finally after that over 40 minutes I just said just cancel it give me back my money they said they can t get back the Money They charge you ahead of time so you just can t walk out and I see why had dirty plasticware on the floor and dried up food on the floor because nobody sweeps the floor maybe only once a day it s horrible and a nasty place. When I asked for my refund, they told me they couldn t give me a refund. I asked them why they said they couldn t do it today. I had to wait till tomorrow. I said I ve never heard of something like that in my life she goes. I ll do it tomorrow. I promise you I said I want this in writing but I m still gonna call my bank and cancel, this place is nasty and horrible and I see why the reviews are bad on yelp It s two days after going to this restaurant, which is garbage they told us that two days ago that they were going to refund us the money for the food we did not get we still have not got a refund. They lied to us. They won t accept our calls this place I do not recommend anybody. Their services is horrible and the health department should see them because it is not a clean place .

If there is 0 star, i would have given 0 star for the service and the food. Ordered One Egg biriyani and one Gobi Manchuria (Appetizer). They bring you biryani first after half an hr of wait time even though it was not a rush hour. I would ve understood If it was. Again after multiple reminders they will get you the appetizer after 45 minutes of wait time when i am already done having biryani. Don t even get me started with the taste. It was stale and flavorless. Atleast intimating the customer about the wait time would help. But they don t do that. I left the appetizer on table and you guys eat after having biriyani. This is not our first time too. Last time when i visited they got us chicken appetizer instead of veg one. Made my vegetarian friend eat chicken. Worst experience. Do not recommend!!!!!!!

Had to wait 30 mins just to pickup the food. We ordered 20 mins prior. So total time for food pickup was 50 mins. The cashier was flooded with customers waiting to order food. Maybe they should stop taking phone orders and focus more on in person customers. Food used to be good but that particular day food was below average. I have given 4 stars before but this time the food and the service deserves 2 star. Hope they can improve their service. Good luck.

I went in late at night. There were a decent amount of people in there late, which is usually a good sign that food is good (or its the only place around open). I plan on going back and trying more of their menu, we tried the butter chicken and chicken tikka, which were both exceptional and good portion servings. Cant wait to go back

It seems like theres an issue with too many employees at the place, and its frustrating when they prioritize their friends, like cutting in line to have food, over serving customers. Specifically, the employee who charged me at the cashier counter also cut in line, which is annoying.

Not the best tasting food here. Lacks flavor and spice. And the disgusting thing is that I found a hair in the food. I ll never go here again and won t recommend it to anyone either. One time, we had ordered biryani for a party and the portion was very small compared to the same size ordered from other places. And it was tasteless. Shouldn t have wasted money on it.

I don t like the curries. They all taste same as if they are using the same gravy for every curry. I ordered dosa and it was almost burnt and it was tasting bitter also. They don t even give sambhar with dosa only peanut chutney. Not worth the money

I have ordered food from here several times and have been noticing that even after requesting for spice level to be mild, they end up making the dish extra spicy. I ignored it several times, but now thought of adding this review as my kids ended up crying because of how spicy the food was especially after requesting them to make it mild as it is for kids.

The best Indian food place that all should visit once. I came here with my counterparts for an evening snack and here all are satisfied and the Tandoori itself is mouth watering with excellent juicy texture! The great thing is they do Desi pastries and cakes . Five for the ambience and service.
